| Kinu was becoming more fond of the roads this time around. The chuunin exams, although reaching its mid-point did not cease to keep the genin in the village busy during the time being. You wouldn't find it odd to find a young boy or girl training for longer hours and even sparring outside the markets. Everyone seemed to have something to work for and something to drive them to finish the exams, which unfortunately crowded the streets during the process. Although his willingness to pass the exam was powerful, Kinu could never succumb to his prenatal instinct to run around the village and fight other Nin which supposedly all genin do when exams are present. The eagerness to prove one's ability that they qualify as chuunin was more a comedic era than one of seriousness for Kinu. Watching these burly young men squabble with each other with wooden kunais and bendy senbons across the street was funny. Kinu covered his mouth with his small bony hand to mask his innocent chuckle which he found hard to control. One of the boys eyed him angrily, but Kinu only sighed and continued on his journey to the forest. Despite everyone's weirdness during exam time Kinu was actually being more mellow, which surprised many people so it seems. Usually the type that studies and over thinks man things in life, Kinu was calm and collecting during his trials. Passing his written exam was a indicator that having a steady mind was key to passing this exam, which maybe useful later down the road.
It took a considerable amount of time for Kinu to reach the forest area of the village in which he'd been instructed the previous night. Probably taking about thirty minutes he might have considered himself late if it wasn't the fact that he woke up extremely early as usual. He cursed the lovely Jounin that stopped to make conversation with him to hold up his time, but being as early as he was he didn't mind spending a little extra time doing miscellaneous things. Stepping into the first patch of grass of the forest from the village was the first time a sense of nervousness was felt by Kinu. Although being disciplined enough to not show signs of discontent in any circumstance, the thought of not being sure of what he'll come across in this chapter of the exam started to get to him. "Steady mind." He began to think, and instantly his worries flustered out of his consciousness. He gingerly began to walk deeper into the forest and closer to the river area.
In his annoyance, his black lose fitted shirt began to hook onto the branches as if it was purposely reaching for him. Kinu grimaced as he had to tug his shirt every so often while walking, trying to prevent it from ripping in the process. Other than that everything he was wearing and customized seemed appropriate for this environment. His now blond hair with black streaks was wrapped into a neatly kept pony tail and his weapons rest snug in the pouches of his black sweatpants. Walking swiftly through the trees, the tranquil sound of splashing water began to overpower the sound of breaking branches and crunching leaves. Kinu followed that sound, retaining the state of mind that his walking was finally over perhaps. Upon walking over his final tree he'd finally seen the river that he heard a few yards away. His eyes swept across the field, flourish grass plains which stood side by side on both ends of the river. But what really caught his sight was that in the river, there were small stones rooted into it. "Erm.. okay?" Was all he could think. Innately he looked down to his feet and seen a small scroll laying across the grass. Picking the scroll up carefully, he began to read its contents piece by piece.
Gaining a better understanding of his assignments, Kinu began to stretch lightly while walking across the grass field. Being a more centered individual, Kinu decided to pick the center stone to jump onto as his first leap. Kinu was not a fool, he knew that there was a twist to this exam that was intended to deceive the eye. He walked closer to the water and leaned over slowly while placing a thumb on his chin. Something was up with these logs, but what? Kinu didn't know. But one thing he did know is that he'd had to pay close attention to his surroundings when trying to make it across. Although the urge to rely on some nifty Jutsu he possessed to aid him on his leaps was tempting, he wanted to test his raw skill instead. He knew he had a very agile and impressive physic, and maybe now was the time to prove it.
He leaned back from the water, and leaped gracefully onto the middle stone(stone 2). His grace and speed could rival that of a feline, which could be further proven by the aerial twirls he did in the process. Landing upon the stone with one foot, he kept his other foot sustained in the air just in case he needed extra momentum for his next jump.

| Even though Kakougan had volunteered to proctor the chuunin exams, he couldn't help but the nagging regret in his mind due to that decision. Kakougan's normal philosophy told him that anything he was willing to do was worth doing, but for this occasion his thoughts were reversed. All of the genin he had been watching were, to say the least, pathetic in his eyes. They were all too sure of themselves and began trying to cross stone to stone without first even considering that a chuunin exam was meant to test genin, not to make them feel good about themselves. Kakougan was extremely approving of the 'more than meets the eye' concept of the second exam, but was still extremely disappointed in how the genin reacted to it. The ones that did manage to make it past the first stone assumed that the rest of it would all be the same and fell of soon after. Even though these genin had done poorly, Kakougan still had to write up reports on them and he had gotten very behind on these.
As the next genin came into view, Kakougan waved at him and turned back to the papers he was holding in his hands, hoping to get a few more words in before he had to cater to yet another genin. Coincidentally, the genin Kakougan had been reviewing when his next genin came in seemed similar. They both appeared to be well groomed and to have somewhat of a financially rich look to them. Whether or not this new genin had a lot of money, Kakougan couldn't help but think that this genin was like the other one. The previous genin in question had fallen off the first rock and gave up. Instead of just going away, the genin then tried to bribe Kakougan. After giving the kid a violent knock across the head and carrying his un conscious body to the medical building, Kakougan failed him and was writing an incident report about it. Just the thought of having to deal with another kid like that was enough to make Kakougan cringe. From underneath his gas mask Kakougan let out a large sigh, put his papers away, and began to observe this new genin. The first thing the genin did was stopped and look at the river as if questioning how easy the exam would be. This was nothing to great but Kakougan was still impressed by it after dealing with all of those other genin.
Even though his first action impressed Kakougan, the next move the genin made was an extremely foolish one. The genin had jumped from the back towards the first stepping stone without even putting forth any effort to guess what the stone may do to him. Although the jump was very agile, the stone began to churn up some wind which shot at the genin as his feet were just about to land on it's surface. The genin would no doubt be knocked back and into the water.
" Don't be so rash!" Kakougan yelled at the genin in a muffled voice due to his mask.
OOC: The hints/actions of the stones will be underlined by me for your ease of reading. |

| Like Kinu's thought process, his face showed no signs of fear of what was to come upon landing on the stone. He prepared for the worst in some ways, he tensed the muscles in his body and honed his senses to react of what was to come so he would be prepared for the element of surprise. Still, the whole shenanigan of worrying about a stupid stone in the water made him feel lesser in some ways. In his mind he should be able to withstand mountains of pressure without worrying about his capabilities of making it through to the end. So why should he worrying about a stone? He didn't know, nor did he know of what would happen to him once he landed on it. Whilst while he felt the churning wind rustling underneath his clothing as he came down upon the rock, the illusive trap was then set in motion. Before his foot touched its rocky surface, a breeze of shocking force erupted from its area and blasted at Kinu. He would have found some degree satisfaction if his foot even managed to touch the rock before his body began to lift off. His eyes widened at the shock, yet still retaining their dark calm nature. A dozen reactions shot through his mind like screenplays, each one displaying a different scenario of what he could possibly due to either land on another rock, and avoid being blown in the water. The only physical leverage he had against surviving the wind blast was his right leg which remained high in the air during his whole process. On the idea that his leg can provide some degree of momentum to alter his blowing direction, he needed to add his innate acrobatics ability to make this plan work.
Not even a second after the wind shock began to fling the young boy into the air in some-what of a linear direction right above the rock, Kinu twirled upside down and saw a clear but head-rushed image of the other stones while ascending into the air. Using that same leg, he forced all of his power into a simple thrust and with enough power behind it managed to move himself into the direction of the other rocks rather than the water. Unfortunately the kick didn't send him far, only moving him a few feet from his point. Releasing the energy within his seal Kinu launched squid tentacle arms on a nearby stone and anchored his way onto its surface while in the air. He began to retrieve his tentacles as he fell awkwardly onto the rock.
OOC: Kinu is about to land on stone 4.
- Spoiler:
Name: Animal Sealing: Squid Tentacle Arms Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Description: This is a technique unique to members of the Yamazaru Clan. By releasing the seal that takes the form of a tentacle on the clan members body, they can release the special abilities which were bestowed within the seal using the clans unique Animal Sealing method. This technique projects several squid tentacles from within the user's clothing (four from each sleeve). These tentacles usually emerge from the users shirt. These tentacles are very versatile, as they can grapple, throw, bind, and suction down upon the target. The user is able to use chakra combined within the seal to gain some control over them, and it is even possible to use these extensions to climb up walls, as they can suction to the surface of objects. The user can use this technique for as long as they wish to sustain it, it can be canceled at anytime or is canceled when they are destroyed.

| OOC: You'll need to edit your post because thrusting one leg in mid-air would've propel you very far at all in mid-air. |

Okay, but since I jumped in the middle I'm kinda surrounded by stones in all directions. Even with a wind blast and some skillful athleticism I cant toot the direction I'm blasted in? |

| You could use some sort of jutsu to propel yourself, but just a kick wouldn't be enough to make it very far. |

| As soon as Kinu landed on the stone it began to buck violently trying to throw the genin off. AS the bucking continued, another object emerged from underneath the water. This object was a head, a snapping turtle head that look rather angry after someone landed on his back. |

| Kinu's eyes widened at the surface of the rock he landed on started to churn with invigorating force. His own two feet started to rotate along with the rock which in turn started to cause himself to twist along with it. His arms began to wing out beside him as he started to retain his balance at the best of his ability. "What the?" Kinu shouted as his eyes darted around him. Not a moment too soon the mighty head of a turtle erupted from beneath the water. Its eyes glistened bloodshot red with the reflection of Kinu's horror stricken face dead in its center. In a desperate attempt to move away from the creatures incoming bite Kinu tried to demonstrate another jump onto his final rock. Before his foot left the ground a shocking pain ripped through his ankle and he fell to the ground without a second thought. Wanting to scream in pain the strong and patient Kinu would not let weakness defile him from reaching his point. Turning around on his back the jaws of the turtle came again but this time with less animosity. Probably in smug of him getting Kinu the first time around. But this time Kinu was prepared. Taking his other foot Kinu swiftly kicked the turtle beside its head and instantly got on his feet while the creature recovered. Making a quick leap off the turtles shell he jumped for his last stone successfully.
Kinu jumped on stone 7. |
