Continued on from: Alert! Bear Country in Crisis.

The four shinobi had been running for hours now and even Koden was beginning to feel the fatigue. Luckily for them though, the rain had begun to die down and they were finally approaching their first stop, the mountains of Iron Country. The terrain got a bit more rocky as the dirt they stood on turned to pebbles and small rocks, which eventually lead them to a path up a mountain, Koden pushed harder up the sloped cliff as his team stuff close behind him, the rain now gently sprinkling down onto the top his coat as he reached a balanced horizontal footing for a moment. Koden came to a halt, sliding momentarily across the once again dirty terrain below him, as dusty surfaced from his feet as he stopped. His team would do the same as Koden looked up at the cliff before him. There was another level above them approximately 20 metres higher up. “This cliff face is too dangerous to walk up using chakra, we’ll have to climb.” Koden spoke clearly as he briefly adjusted his back pack. He jumped up quite a distant using his right hand to latch onto a large chunk of rock that was hanging outside the rock face. Before pulling himself up with that hand and grasping a higher piece with his left hand and at the same time putting his right foot on an available piece, as if it was a stepping stone. Koden would begin to climb, assuming his team would do the same as he had told them too, hoping they would do so carefully as well.

Koden eventually reached the location, pulling himself up over the stable grounding as Inari was close behind him, as she reached the top Koden extended his right hand, as she reached out grabbing the black glove that sat firmly on his hand before Koden helped the kunoichi up. Koden would do the same with Kyo who followed Inari and then finally Morel. Assisting all three of them on the final pull up. Koden gestured them toward the cave that was approximately ten metres away from the edge of the mountain. The cave wasn’t too deep, only another ten metres itself, but it was a perfect spot to sleep for a night, undetected as it wasn’t on the paths. Koden walked inside the cave last, losing sights of his comrades in the dark cave Koden pulled two handseals as a small ball of light appeared his left hand, he used his right hand to take his hood off as he still partially dry hair could be seen once more. He used his shoulders and right hand to sling his back pack off his shoulders and down to the ground, using his right hand to unzip the small compartment and remove two scrolls. One was marked; tent and the second was marked; utilities. Koden unravelled the two scrolls activating them as the items of a tent appeared from the tent scroll and various items appeared from the utilities scroll, such as pieces of wood for a camp fire, pots, sleeping bags and pillows, everything needed for the camp. Koden pointed to the pieces of wood and wooden stake-like torches that sat beside them before speaking. “Kyo, please set up the five torches in appropriate locations, four of them close to the main camp location which will be right here to keep it lit and the fifth near the caves entrance. Then you can prepare the fire which will be just out before the tent.” Koden expected Kyo to begin this task immediately before addressing the next task. “Inari, you will be setting up the tent itself, shouldn’t be too hard but it will take longer than some of these other tasks so you better get started.” Koden said. Finally looking to Morel and informing him of the tasks he should complete. “Not too hard, whatever is left should be set up. So various chairs around the campfire, along with the pots for cooking, sleeping bags inside the tents along with the pillows as well as that lantern inside the tent for lighting purposes.” Koden waited for Kyo to begin setting alight the torches before letting his ball of light perish, the cave was now alight and Koden would wait for everything to start to be set up, once the fire was lit and the chairs were in place, the three younger shinobi would continue working while Koden would pull out a third scroll labelled food. Throwing all the ingredients into the large pot and placing it over the fire, Koden would prepare a stew for dinner.

Rushing for hours through the rocky terrain, Inari had almost reached her limits. She had never been too enthusiastic about physical exhaustion. That was why she had become a medical ninja; to avoid corporal strain. However, it looked like she wouldn't elude it in the end. Upon a rough and high sight of a cliff, the young girl let out a small sigh. They would have to climb up, without the use of chakra. Seconds after, Koden affirmed her thoughts and as he jumped up to climb the cliff, Inari followed suit. She fastened her backpack and took a run-up so she could avoid climbing so much. The girl crammed her right hand into a small rock fissure as she placed her left hand a bit higher, grabbing another rock. The young kunoichi made her way to the top, Koden stretching out his hand to help her up. Inari grabbed his gloved limb, and remembered that she had to come into contact with the other team members so she could track them in case something happened. Bearing that in mind she mumbled a 'Thanks' and proceeded to walk into the cave.

The cave was pretty much like any other cave; dark, big and cold. Not to mention moistly because of the amazing weather. Inari pushed her hood aside revealing her partially wet hair. It had stuck on her face; she looked like a wet cat. Annoyed, she pulled out a black hair rubber and tied her long brown curls with it, not too tight though. Some strands were falling off, covering her blue eyes just a tad. Just as she was going to pull out a lighter, a foreign light appeared behind her brightening up the cold cave. She looked back and saw Koden holding some sort of light in his hand which sent off enough as to illuminate the majority of the place. The captain ordered Kyo to do some stuff as well as Inari and Morel. It was then that Inari noticed how hot Kyo and Koden actually were. Morel was attractive, too, but he was much younger than her, so definitely a no-no for Inari.

She quickly moved on to set up the tent, in her mind Kyo and Koden still swirling around. The girl had never set up a tent, but that couldn't be so difficult she thought. Putting off her black coat and the backpack, she kneeled down to erect the tent.'Shouldn't be so difficult...' she thought while she put together some bars and then placed the fabric over it. The tent was huge; it was meant for six people, so they would have enough place to sleep. Once the tent was up, Inari walked over to the fireplace and dragged her bag with her. Koden was sitting there cooking something. "Um, Captain? I believe it would be good if I had physical contact with each one of you so in case of a separation I can easily track you down." the girl said, her blue eyes looking into Koden's. Her facial expression was of a kind one, her eyes smiling.

As the team reached the ending point of their long travel since the gates there was a relief in Kyo. He was glad that they made it to a point but the gladness went into a frown as they soon found out they had to climb a wall without chakra. The only bright side is the fact that they could not use chakra on these rocks because Kyo used his chakra control on the ground already to make sure he was getting on some stable ground. He then noticed the environment clearing up and the rain has been done with its worst. He was now in line to climb up as the team Capitan has done so and so did the female of the group. Before even starting to get up on the cliff he started to get his sunglasses off. It did help protect him from the rain but he needed sight to see the rocks to climb. Kyo was next he started to get as much of a grip as he could on the first two rocks as he pulled himself up the rocks to climb up. He looked down once to see which direction his partner would take so if he had to jump off he could jump into a different direction. He was slowly but surely getting to the top of the cliff. He noticed that the female of the group was being pulled by the team captain to get up. It seems he had already reached the top. As he got some more height up from the cliff his captain reached for his hand. He gratefully took his hand that aided him to get to the top. Thee his captain would help the last member of the team. As he reached the top he started to clasp his hands together. The motion when you have dirt in you hands and you try to get them off. He then started to wait for the captain as he talked about a place to rest for the night. It seems the group was in unison as they made their way inside of the camp.

Inside of the camp was dark as Kyo snapped his finger as a small kindle of fire stated to appear. At the same time the team leader has place a ball of light into his hands, very cleaver to do so. As he investigated the area the captain started to give out orders for the group. His orders were simple. Get the five torches and place them around the perimeter of the camp as well as the front entrance. Kyo nodded and did as he was told. He started to let his flame go and then started to place the four pieces of wood in a square like perimeter as he walked to the entrance with the fifth one and placed it on the ground. As he done so he snapped his finger again torching the one in the main entrance then flames from the torches split up in four different directions to light the other remaining four torches. As his first task was completed he noted the captain releasing his light out. As he was done he started to look at the other members. He then noticed the other male member of the team setting up chairs fo the group as he then noticed the female trying to set up the tent. It seems it would not be too much longer until the tasks were all finished. Kyo would move back over to the team leader, grabbing the fire wood and placing it where Koden had told him to put it before setting it alight too. His tasks were complete he moved to the chairs that Morel had set up. His squad leader and his female comrade were sitting at the freshly lit campfire so Kyo joined them, sitting on the left of Koden as he spoke.

“Seems like the day is almost nearing its end.”

PostSubject: Re: Pit Stop. [P] Pit Stop. [P] EmptyWed 29 Dec 2010, 5:37 am

The party traveled for hours, the rain that was once pelting them relentlessly had now thinned to less than a drizzle. As had the rolling plains given way to a more familiar, rocky terrain as they approached the mountain borders of Iron Country. The travel was hard on Morel, though he had extensive training in Taijutsu, he was still young and his body lacked the stamina to make such long trips without some breaks. However, he refused to lose pace with his teammates and continued to press on, not showing signs of his growing fatigue.

Eventually, the group came to the foot of a small cliff, Koden ordering them to halt as he inspected the rocks. Giving the order that they were to climb instead of using chakra to walk up the cliff face. This came as a bit of a relief to Morel as he would be able to give his burning legs a bit of a reprieve. As the rest of his group began to ascend the cliff, he began stretching his arms before asking his legs for one burst of strength. Leaping a couple feet in the air, he quickly grasped onto a protruding rock with his right hand and with a single, fluid motion, pulled himself further up and grabbed at a second, higher rock. He continued this motion to ascend the rocks, his lower torso swinging back and forth almost lifelessly. Only using his feet to get an extra bit of balance when he found himself gripping a particularly thin piece of rock. As he was within arm's reach of the top, Koden reached down to aid him in the final ascent, to which Morel immediately shifted his arm off to the right, grabbing at an awkward rock that caused him to lose his momentum and forced him to plant both his feet securely on the rock face. Koden would have none of it though and grabbed his wrist and without even a grunt, he lifted Morel right off the rock and brought him to eye level. Morel's eyes met his with a look of dull disapproval as Koden placed him on the ground.

His team mates immediately headed towards a nearby cave while Morel took a moment to pull out a smoke and match, lighting his cigarette and flicking the match off the cliff before heading inside the cave with the others. By the time he was inside, Koden had already unloaded a variety of gear and camping goods. Giving out orders, Morel was tasked with setting up the leftovers such as the chairs and cookery. As one began setting the torches and the other setting the tend, Morel grabbed the chairs and decided to set them first. Placing them around the campfire, he then set the pots near the fire for whoever was going to cook. However, as the tent was still being assembled, he decided to wait a bit and took off his two soaked cloaks, looking at the lighter one he had worn before the mission began, he decided that it was no longer needed. Pulling out two kunai, he dropped one to the ground, using the other to cut his cloak into strips of cloth. Once it was completely shredded, he began to twist the strips and tie them together before securing one end of the now three meter long cloth rope to the end of his kunai. He then walked towards a wall, tapping various areas with the tip of the kunai before stabbing it deep into the rock. He then tied the other end to the second kunai and stabbed it into a protruding section of the wall. With the cloth secured, he took off his shirt and flung it over the line. His shirt was still quite soaked so this way, it would be able to dry faster. By this time, the tent was long set up and he began the last of his tasks, setting up the sleeping bags and lantern.

When he was finally done, he walked past the group, the smell of the stew boiling over the fire was enticing but he continued past them and rested against the entrance of the cave. Exhaling a large cloud of smoke out of the cave mouth. He'd wait there until the food was done at least.

Instead of monitoring his teams movements Koden would instead focus on cooking up the stew. He stirred it momentarily as he found a moment to break from the continuous hand motion and managed to prepare some of the other things that would be optional for the dinner. Koden began setting up two tripod-like items on each side of the fire and resting a long wooden stick on the top of both of them which would cross over the fire like a spit roast. Koden would reach back behind him, not even looking to where he had sent his hand to investigate, latching onto a big bottle of water, pouring the entire thing into the pot and reaching over to a large packet of noodles, pouring them into the pot and clipping its handle onto the wooden support across the top. Koden would do the same with a generous portion of rice on the opposite side before moving back to his seat and sitting back down sighing in relief as he did so. He brought his left hand back up to the wooden spoon that sat inside the large cooking pot, once again beginning to stir the pot as he his ears were bombarded by the sudden noise of something being dragged, Koden turned his attention slightly to the direct of where the tent was being set up. He saw Inari approaching the campfire and Koden, looking past her momentarily he glanced over at the tent. Set up and ready, perfect. Koden would praise the girl on her efforts in his mind but no words would be spoken as of yet. When the kunoichi got closer, she pressed her lips together as if she was waiting for his attention to say something. Koden cleared his throat and looked up to her, as she spoke about physical contact in order for tracking purposes. Koden would respond to the girl before either of the male shinobi would join them. “Yes, skin to skin contact if I’m not mistaken? I’ve read your profile, Inari.” Koden said as Kyo approached, taking a seat next on Koden’s left mentioning how the long day would soon be coming to an end. “Mhm… A long nights rest should do you some good, and then you will be in perfect condition for the mission tomorrow.” Koden looked back to Inari, gesturing her to sit down on his right before continuing to speak. “But nutrition is just as important as sleep, dinner is ready.” Koden said to the two ninja who sat beside him. Koden looked up to see Morel’s figure at the caves entrance, he didn’t look for long but would call out to the youngster to get him to come eat. “Morel, please join us.” Koden said, projecting his voice as it echoed off the caves walls.

The fourth chair was next to Inari, but angled like a sort of semi-circle around the fire, Morel had set them up very efficiently. Koden picked up the first of four bowls that rested at his side and began pouring equal and substantial portions of stew into each of them, pulled out a smaller bowls, he was then fill these bowls with both rice and noodles which the four of them could do whatever they wanted. “Chicken and Vegetable stew with a siding of noodles and rice.” Koden passed over the bowls to each of them along with a Spork and a pair of chopsticks. “Now before we eat, Inari has a request I’d like to fulfil. Inari is a sensory ninja with a unique ability; she will be able to track any of us down as long as she has previously had skin to skin contact. Morel, Kyo; I merely ask that you both shake her hand-“ Koden paused for a minute. “As for me, I’m a bit harder than that Inari, if you touch my bare skin, you will get infected by a deadly poisonous hosted by Nano sized beetles that live inside me. This is a secret and extremely rare trait of my clansmen. I’m believed to be one of the last survivors with this ability, if not the last. I do not wish to infect you, but my father developed a seal that makes my neck and face ineffective of spreading the infection. So this is the only skin to skin contact you can get.” Koden explained, it was vital that they understood this. Koden sent three female Kikai beetles to his right arm as he reached for Inari’s hand, as he grabbed her hand softly, the three female beetles would run on the inside of her sleeve, not touching her skin. One of them would stay there, but the other two would move to Morel and Kyo. Having one female Kikai on each of his teammates will allow Koden to track them down himself.

With the kunoichi’s hand being softly grasped by Koden’s glove, the Aburame brought her hand up to his face, pressing it softly against his now warm cheek with allow her ability to work. Koden brought the hand down as he released it. “Morel, Kyo. This isn’t an option, please complete my order, then you are free to eat.” Koden said as he moved his chopsticks to his noodles, twirling them inside the small bowl and wrapping up some of the yellow strings of deliciousness before dunking them into his bowl of stew and finally bringing them to his mouth. He warm stew and the combination of the stringy noodles was fantastic. Koden would repeat this process as his body got warmer and his stomach fuller. He would shortly engage the shinobi in a conversation, but he had to make sure each of the beetles would be successfully planted.

As the captain agreed with Inari's proposal, Kyo joined them shortly after saying that the day was almost over. The girl expected Morel to join them as well since he had finished with his tasks, but instead, he walked to the edge of the cave blowing out some smoke. 'So young and already smoking...' Inari's medical instincts tingled at the cigarettes' sight. She wanted to inform him so badly about the dangers of smoking but her mind was telling her that it was none of her business. Nevertheless, she felt it as her duty to raise his awareness about that matter. The female would do it later on, when they were alone; or better, when they were back from the mission. She didn't want to elevate a disagreement between them, after all some smokers reacted negative to people trying to make them cut off smoking. Koden gestured Inari to sit down on the chair on his right as he announced that dinner was ready. Then he called Morel to them who would sit on the female's right side. As he neared the group, Inari looked up to him, smiling; It was a rather rare sight to see her smile to someone; her face had a constant bored expression. However, being surrounded by boys changed the situation. Usually she was mincing around the male sex, but now she was holding herself back because this was a mission and not an everyday trip.

The captain passed on the bowls to the three Shinobi and prepared to say something before they ate. Inari supposed this was the part where he would explain the girl's abilities so she could track them down. Seconds later, Koden confirmed her thought. He started explaining the Kunoichi's sensory skills and wanted the other two members to just shake her hand; Something Inari had intended to do if the others weren't so dismissive at the beginning of the mission. Koden paused a bit and then went on to explain about himself. Inari's blue eyes wandered to the man's neck as he was explaining his unique Aburame trait. It was exciting her, the fact that this man could actually instantly kill someone just by touching them. 'Impressive, indeed...' she thought. She perceived this trait as both a gift and a curse. As she noticed that he had softly grabbed her bare hand, three female beetles made their way to Inari's arm, though she wouldn't notice them since they were so small. Koden lifted her hand and the girl's eyes darted to the man's hand and then to his eyes. Strange as it may seem, the girl didn't blush like she would usually do. She felt her cold hand warming up at the warm cheek's touch; she had forgotten to put on the gloves in her backpack. The Aburame led her hand down and then dismissed it.

Inari turned around to Morel and proceeded to shake his hand, her lips forming a brilliant smile. While shaking hands, the beetle would crawl over to Morel's arm and stay there for tracking purposes. After shaking hands with the Konin, the girl stood up from her chair, placing the bowl down, and walked over to Kyo. She extended her hand to shake his and to send the beetle she wasn't aware of, smiling again. Once finished with shaking hands, the girl stepped back to her seat and started eating the food with the chopsticks. "This is really good." she said while smirking at the delicious dinner.

As Kyo said his last sentence he started to sit down to the team leader’s left side as the other members of the team were starting to sit down on their chairs as well. The aroma of stew was in the air and Kyo would be lying if he did not feel hungry at this moment. Even though the trip was long and it did not bear much word between the team he did learn a lot about the team well some of them at least. He learned that the team captain was focused and was ready to follow orders for his country without hesitant. A very good treat for a leader, he did admire his skills on taking charge of the mission. Next was the last member to sit down. While he was a Konin, yes, he did notice him having a habit of smoking. For him to smoke so openly must mean that he reached a point in his habit of nicotine that he does not care what people think about him but he is not off the edge since he has not complain about anything either. The next one was a female in which he did not gather much information about her either until later on in the dinner at least.

When they sat down Kyo and started to view at Koden’s cooking as the beef stew seemed to be ready. He looked at his hands as his fingers were showing signs of dirt. He did not want to be disrespectful and eat with his hands dirty but there was not a sink or source of water nearby. Well the water from the ground may have worked but not as he liked. He started to do a hand sign and his chakra was becoming visible in his hands. He looked at the blue chakra as it automatically changed to a white flame of chakra. The reasoning of color was his kkg. Every time he tried a medical ninjutsu it automatically changed the color to a white flame. He then started to disinfect his hands and got rd of the dirt and germs on his hands so he could eat properly. As he was finished his chakra was gone as it seem that the leader was passing out blows and chopsticks. He started to get his bowls as he thanked the captain for his meal but before that could happen there was a request for the female shinobi. Koden told the team that she needed to have a physical hand shake for sensory purposes. It did not both Kyo as Kyo wanted to help as much as he could. He realized, from what his mentor told him, that Koden’s clan had a sensory ability as well. How he would use it is behind his mentality but he did wanted to know. As soon as the female shinobi would finish he would like to make his own request instead.

As she went along to the team and asked for the captain hand shake there was a pause. He explained to the team that his body, or skin to skin contact, has poisonous nano bugs that could instantly kill someone with a touch. He wondered why did the leader take this long to tell them this information. It seems that he wanted to keep it a secret and with the female shinobi asking for a request it seemed he had to tell the truth or else it may have killed her if she went on and being persistent to touch him in an area that was not safe. He thought to himself and remembered that must be the reason why he wore a glove in this mission and when he helped Kyo and the others from the edge. As the captain was finished shaking hands with her she shook hands with Morel and then afterwords she stood up and went to Kyo to shake hands. As she reached out she let out a smile to him. In respect he smiled at her back and took her hand and shook hands as she requested. As she came back and the team was ready to eat their meal Kyo spoken to the team.

“Koden, if it is alright with you I want to hand everyone something as soon as the meal is over.” Hopefully getting an ok response from the captain they went along their way to eat the meal. Kyo started to pour some of the stew into the rice and then some of the rice and noodles into the second plate as they were semi equal to each other as he began to eat the first plate of food. As he was done, and maybe as well as the rest of his teammates, he put the bowl down having one more bowl to go. He wanted to save this bowl for later, for breakfast, when they awoke for the morning. He placed his chopsticks onto the second bowl for the breakfast use. As soon as they were all done, Kyo began to get up and reach into his pockets and step close to the group as he reached out his hand with three small round objects. He smiled at his team as he spoken for the object’s explanation.

“Here I want everyone to get one of these bombs. These are potassium bombs that me and my brother made a few years back. These bombs have my chakra in them and if for some reason I need to find any of you I can track you down with my heat signature that is on those bombs. Aside for sensory purposes they are also a weapon. As the name persists they are bombs made of pure potassium. As you send them out to a target or an opponent it will create a 10 foot high fire tornado and last about a minute [one post]. Aside from the bombs effects it has another useful characteristics. Fire is normal contained by fire, this one does not. Because of the ingredient inside the bomb’s fire will stay lit even after contact with water. In other words it is mostly used for if you have a water disadvantage. Now that I have explained to you the use I want to give you the reasons when you should use them. You can only use these bombs when you need another one of your teammates help. If we are facing an enemy and you need assistance use this and we will come running to help you if need be. This will give away your position, obviously, to your opponent as well so you need to make sure to use this wisely.”

He started to pause for a moment for his teammates to gather the information that he has told them. He also took out a scroll labeled ‘radio’ and started to give this to the team leader. “I want to give this one to you. I do not know how your plans work but if it involves us splitting up then you can have communications with us if need be. The scroll holds two radios-type walkie-talkies so hopefully this could be an asset to your strategy. Now if there are any questions please state them now. If not then I have nothing else to say except to keep the bombs close with you.”

Pit Stop. [P] Vide
PostSubject: Re: Pit Stop. [P] Pit Stop. [P] EmptyWed 29 Dec 2010, 11:08 pm

Morel was leaning against the cold stone wall, a cool breeze blowing through the mouth of the cave sent shivers through his body. It didn't help the fact that he was both shirtless and still quite damp from the rain, but he refused to move from his spot. Most people didn't approve of his smoking and as such he would often try to avoid others to keep from irritating them. Not that he cared about their opinions on the matter, he just didn't want to listen to it. He had lost track of how many "concerned" adults passing him on the street would take him off to the side to lecture him about the dangers of smoking. After a while it just becomes repetitive and annoying. There was a reason for it after all.

Eventually, he was summoned to the campfire and took the remaining open seat next to the kunoichi of the team. He sat quietly, his cigarette still lit but chose to breathe more through his nose as to keep the amount of smoke down. The warmth of the fire was very refreshing as he slid himself slightly closer to the flames. Koden then began to pass around the food, two bowls, one filled with stew and the other rice and noodles. Before Morel could begin eating however he began to explain, in depth, the sensory abilities of Inari and that of his own clan. It seemed that offer to shake hands with her when he first arrived at the gates of the village was more than a simple greeting. So when Inari turned to him, Morel lazily offered his left hand, not bothering to turn and face the girl while doing so. However, he did take notice when a tickling sensation began to crawl up his bare arm. Though when he would turn his arm to try and find what it was, he could find nothing. The sensation then moving down his back before disappearing. After a moment, he figured it was just a side effect of Inari's ability and turned his attention to his food.

Flicking some ashes off from the tip of his smoke, he took the bowl of stew, filled nearly to the brim and threatened to spill over at the slightest bit of motion applied to it, he poured about half of the broth into the bowl of noodles and rice. Some of the solid contents also spilling over. He then placed the bowl of stew on the ground and stirred the noodles with his chopsticks and began to eat. However, it seemed that the last team mate also had his own two cents to give. Holding out three small bombs that would aid in his ability to track as well as being a potent weapon in its own right. It would also have a potent effect against any water users they may encounter during the mission. Taking one of the three bombs, he placed it inside his pocket and continued to eat as the guy handed something else to Koden. Not bothering to pay too much attention to what it was, he finished off the first bowl and placed it on the ground only to pick up the second one and begin eating the stew, which had significantly cooled during that time.

When he had finished, he stacked the two bowls together, placing the chopsticks inside and setting them off to the side of the fire near Koden. Then moving towards his makeshift clothesline and checking his shirt. It was still a little damp on the back side, but dry on the parts that faced the fire. Flipping the shirt over and once more taking his spot near the cave entrance. Taking in a large breath and exhaling a cloud of smoke once more.

Koden surveyed the reactions of his comrades as he spoke of his abilities, they seemed to intrigue Kyo and Inari quite a bit but not Morel, there was something about that boy that stirred Koden up. Even taking this into consideration, Morel would be the first of the two Genin fellows to comply with the request of Inari and Koden by shaking the kunoichi’s hand. Koden watched intently but discretely as he appeared to continue enjoying his delicious stew as he looked out of the caves entrance, truthfully though he was inspecting Inari’s sleeve the whole time until the hands of Morel and Inari meet and shake as Koden focused on their sleeves, seeing one of his insects crawl swiftly over to Morel’s sleeve, disappearing from Koden sight he was now sure that Morel had successfully been marked, though Koden noticed at the pull away of the hands that he felt something on his arm, attempting to check what it was. Koden’s eyes widened only the slightest, the beetle must have mistakenly touched his skin, even though Koden had sent it to only stay on he’s clothing. Morel didn’t seem fussed and left it for the time being with lead Koden to believe that even was all well after all, turning his attention to Inari once more as she stood in front of Koden to reach out to Kyo, smiling broadly once more and the fires light caused her face to grow even brighter toward the direction of Koden and his Ryuzaki comrade.

The last bug proceeded to move to Kyo’s sleeve unnoticed, doing its job correctly and perfectly as Inari moved back to her seat only to comment moments later about how lovely the food was. Koden let off a short and small smile to acknowledge he had heard her but refused to turn his head and make eye contact as he continued to look down into the warming fire proceeding to mannerly stuff noodles and rice into his mouth. Before long, Kyo would stand up and talk about something he wished to give out to his comrades about a grenade like item that were accustomed to his clan and moved to his bag pulling three out, one of each of his team mates. Koden had read about such an item, it would release a sudden large burst of flames, it could come in quite handy, but Koden was more confident in his own abilities, he would still respectfully and silently take the weapon which was easy to grab sitting next to the young Genin and placed it at his side next to Inari. Kyo would then proceed to speak to Koden specifically about a scroll. Koden took it in his hand and glanced at the label which read “radio”. Letting the boy explain the exact contents before respectfully declining the boys item and handing it back to him before speaking. “It is a kind gesture, but surely you would think somebody of my ranking would be prepared and have his own radio’s; earpieces to be exact. However, that is not the path I like to take on a mission such as thing, my insects can act as a communication device but if we are split up at any point it should be under my orders and not being forced apart, in which case I’d trust that you all have the ability to complete whatever task I set you without my help to walk you through each step through a radio.” His words weren’t blunt, he was trying to merely get the boy to recognize how Koden expected things to go, though Koden would hope Morel and Inari would also be listening to Koden’s little lesson.

Koden turned back to his food where he would continue to do so until his portions were finished. He was the first one to finish, but was shortly followed by Morel who proceeded to go check on his damp clothing and then go back to the caves entrance to light yet another cigarette. At such an age of Morel’s it would seem like such a shock to most people to see Morel partaking in such a dirty habit. It was something Koden hated too, because he didn’t understand why people would destroy their internal organs over something so useless; however Koden had read about Morel’s ability. He manipulated smoke, so it had no effect on his internal organs. Koden was another example of this, most people would not be able to live with the amount of insects inside them like Koden and his Aburame clan can, even a few of the kikai inside a person who is not a member of the clan with the secret contract would become sick and could die eventually due to the uncontrollable desire of the chakra eating insects. But Koden was wired differently, the Aburame’s were wired differently; in order to control the bugs and allow them to live inside them. The idea of smoke with Morel was similar in certain aspects so it didn’t bother Koden too much to watch the boy smoke, however the constant acts of lonely behaviour came across rude to Koden and this was something the Jounin had trouble tolerating.

After a brief time still sitting in front of the fire, still with Kyo and Inari by his side he would speak once more this time requesting yet somewhat ordering his comrades to do something else, the last thing for tonight. “As Kyo mentioned earlier, the day is coming to an end. I suggest you both go to get some sleep so you can all wake up fresh and ready for the mission.” Koden would stand up not listening to any responses they had as of late because how quickly be got up and moved to the caves entrance. He approached Morel eventually meeting with him horizontally, yet he was still distant. Not bothering to turn his attention to the boy, Koden looked out to the light downpour that continued to fall from the heavy clouded and then proceeded to talk, still not looking to his youngest comrade. “Time to get some rest, Morel. I’ll need you in perfect condition for tomorrow.” Koden told the boy who was standing to the left of the Aburame, continuing to lean on the cave. Once the young smoker would descend back into the cave toward the tent, Koden would move to the boys previous position, next to the cave wall was a rock that miraculously eroded into a seats shape over millions of years, Koden planted his bottom to it as he looked out to the rain again, keeping his eyes on the area outside the cave almost the whole time, with the exception of when he sat down. It was here he would remain all night, on guard and watch to ensure no harm would come to his camp or his comrades during this time of great vulnerability: sleep time.

PostSubject: Re: Pit Stop. [P] Pit Stop. [P] EmptyMon 03 Jan 2011, 2:45 pm

Having finished consuming the fresh food, Inari's attention turned to Kyo's explanation and offer of some kind of bombs. The girl's gaze shot to the boy standing in front of them as he handed to the three Shinobi the bombs which might come in handy. ''Thanks, Kyo.'' the medical Ninja replied with a smile and Kyo went on to address the team captain. He gave him a scroll which had 'radio' written on it; Inari could read it since she was sitting right next to Koden. While the Aburame turned down Kyo's offer of the radio, the female of the group had opened her backpack, which was completely soaking wet but just on the outside; Thanks to its plastic interior, all her belongings were dry and safe. Inari put the bombs into a side pocket of the inside of the bag and closed it. Hearing what Koden had said about how he trusted them that they had the capacity to complete any task he would tell them to do, the woman felt a smile crossing her lips as she realized his words; the captain trusted them, he believed in them which made Inari feel immediately better. Not arrogant, though. The female Ninja knew her capabilities and where she had to stop. She knew where the line was, and she wasn't intending to cross it unless absolutely necessary.

Seeing that everyone had finished with their meal, the Konin stood up and walked over to the cave to smoke a cigarette. Inari noticed, but decided that it wasn't much of her business anyway. She looked into the fire, her mind shutting down for some seconds; she could feel the fatigue of the long journey. It was almost like all her internal organs had fallen into her legs, like they were tearing her down. Koden's voice broke her out of her paralyzed stance and caused her head to rise abruptly, staring to where Koden was supposed to be sitting but he was no longer there. He had apparently stood up and walked over to Morel but Inari was too dazzled to notice. Dissipating the numbness she was feeling, the medic nin reached into her bag and pulled out a small black notebook which read 'Missions' on it. It was a book she had bought from a bookstore in Kumogakure and she used it to write down various missions she had went on. It was some kind of a diary of missions mixed with her expectations and emotions about the mission and her comrades. Not like she needed to write something down in order to remember it, after all her brain was like a sponge sucking every bit of information inside, but she thought that it was nice to have it as a journal to look at when she was old. Scribbling down with a blue pencil, she started with the date and the mission's name. Moving on to describing their travel to the cave, Inari didn't fail to mention the Kage's kiss and what good looking guys in her team were. The girl slightly chuckled at her last sentence which was about how excellent her team captain could cook. She closed the notebook and put it back in its place, still sitting on the chair. The female had heard the order about resting, but she wanted to fill her little midnight book with her thoughts outside, like she used to do.

Leaning back against the chair, she stared into the fire which had started to lighten up again once she threw another wood log into it. ''I'll get in, in some minutes...'' she mumbled as her eyelids were becoming heavier and heavier with every second passing by. She felt it was unfair that Koden had to stand on guard all alone all night long so he wouldn't get any rest at all. She perceived it as her duty to stay on guard, too, since she was Chuunin ranked. But her eyes seemed to have a different opinion. Every now and then her eyes would close for a few seconds only to be pushed open by a sleepy but strong willed Inari. Not able to bear this stress anymore, the girl opened her bag again and pulled out a bottle of water and drank out of it. Then she stood up and stretched, the bottle still in her hand, as she walked over to Koden. Reaching his side she let herself slide onto the cold ground next to him and beheld into the night. ''I can't sleep.'' she lied, just so the Aburame wouldn't order her to go to sleep or feel bad because of her forcefully staying awake. Being adept at lying, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but he would know anyway since she had stretched and yawned some minutes ago.

PostSubject: Re: Pit Stop. [P] Pit Stop. [P] EmptyTue 04 Jan 2011, 7:20 am

The night was starting to continue away as the conversations were flooding in the night. Besides the sound of incest and the sound of the wildlife, the area was covered with rain and the sound of team Koden. The team was now hearing Kyo’s turn to sense out their teammates. This was done by given each and everyone one of them a Potassium bomb. After the give out of the bomb he got a thank you from the Chuunin. He started to smile and then gave back his your welcome to her. After this was done he was speaking to his team captain to give him a scroll giving him a radio. He did not want to intrude on his skills he thought that his teammate would need all the resources that he would need. After his short explanation on why the items would be used his team captain started to speak and letting him know that the item of the radio would not be used. He then looked at his team captain and then nodded in respect as he was rejected he started to swirl his scroll and then placed it in its scroll pouch while speaking. I understand. I do not mean to intrude on your skills I thought we would need all the help we can get. I forgot for a moment that a person has their own style of preparations.

As he finished his response there was a short pause and then Koden was starting to give his team instructions to go to sleep. He started to nod at his captain and then looked at the other team mates. The smoking teammate was starting to get out his cigarette again and started smoking. While the Chuunin was now writing something in a book. Perhaps a note to remember for the next day or something like that. His preparations was easy for him. He started to look in his knapsack. In their there was various items and one in particular was a blanket folded with his change of clothes for the next couple of days. This pair of clothing inside the blanket was a particular outfit. It was a normal everyday type of outfit that would be used when they reached Bear Country. The Raikage stated before that the country does nto know about our deeds. So to place less suspicion on us why nto dress as civilians. After his short flashback on why he brought it he took out the blanket and then started to pick a corner on were. To sleep.

He then noticed his leader was now going to stay on guard. He wondered if he should do the same for another shift but his instructions were clear and Kyo wanted to respect that. After sending the smoking shinobi to bed they seem to make their preparations to sleep. Kyo looked at the Chuunin as she got up and walk over to her captain as they started to go into a conversation. Kyo looked for a while and then closed his eyes thinking on how long they traveled. His legs got a rest after all the travel and they were grateful for it. For now the captain was right. It was time to get their rest and then go on to sleep for the next day. As he placed his blanket over himself and closed his knapsack he started to drift off to sleep. Into a slumber were he would rest up and then get ready for the task at hand. He did not know how the shinobi there or even the people there are like. He made a mental note to make sure he learns about the bear country before they started to stir up trouble. He wanted to try to make himself hit in rather then be poked as a tourst. Well thinking that way maybe it is better to be viewed as tourist then shinobi. It would also mean that their shinobi tactics would be place on hold until need be when they were in the country. Ahhh thinking to much into this the night was get shorter the rest was to be needed. And the pitch blackness in his eyes made him drift off to sleep.

It seemed night had fallen during their time in the cave. Outside was dark and the rain had once more begun pelting the land. Morel leaned against the cold, damp wall of the cave. Contact with the stone was enough to send shivers up his bare back, but his clothing still wasn't dry so he simply ignored this. Lighting up a cigarette, he simply watched the rain fall outside the cave, his mind blank as the sounds of his teammates eating echoed through the cave. The sounds of slurping and silverware scraping on the bowls continued for a few more minutes until near silence temporarily filled the cave, the pounding rain providing the only audible noise.

It was then that Koden began to voice his latest order. Morel couldn't make out the words said, but from what he could hear he was able to identify the speaker, who, a moment later, began to approach him. Koden informed the boy that it was time for bed, going to sleep early would ensure they were ready to move out at dawn. Morel nodded, taking one final puff before pressing the tip of his cigarette against the cave wall. A very minor hissing sound appeared for just a moment as he did so. With the cigarette extinguished, Morel stood up and walked past Koden without a word, tapping the excess ashes from the tip and twisting the top of the cigarette. It still has a good 4/5ths of its length left, putting it to waste if he just threw it out now. He grabbed his open pack from his back pocket and replaced the used cigarette before heading inside the tent.

Inside, Morel moved to the left-most wall of the tent and took his spot there, rolling on his side as to face it. As he closed his eyes, he could hear one of his team mates take their spot somewhere behind him and outside the tent, the faint sound of the other two talking could barely be heard over the heavy rain. Closing his eyes, Morel quickly drifted to sleep. His tired legs finally able to relax, would be ready on the morrow.

PostSubject: Re: Pit Stop. [P] Pit Stop. [P] EmptyThu 06 Jan 2011, 5:49 am

Remaining surprisingly comfortable on the hard rock where his posterior would remain for the night unless danger actually presented itself, he highly doubted it though. The mountain’s path below them was one frequently used but at this time of night with weather such as this, people would be doing exactly what Koden and his squadron done and found shelters or places to stay on the way to their destination, though they would have most likely been more luxurious than the one Koden had chosen, he doubted they would be safer. Koden heard the rustling of the tents entrance which made him assume one of his comrades had entered the tent and went off to bed as he instructed, the sound was repeated moments later. Only two times though, where was the third to ensure him they were all in the tent? He didn’t hear it but he would refuse to turn around and check. He heard a sudden creaking of one of the chairs which quietly echoed through the cave before it was followed up by slow footsteps that crept up to Koden’s location. The figure slipped down the caves walls onto the rock, right next to Koden as its gentle voice spoke, revealing to Koden that it was Inari. Saying she couldn’t sleep.

His eyes flicked rapidly at her analysing her, she was indeed tired he face looked longer than before, like she was forcing herself awake. “Sleep is essential, Inari. I’m sorry.” Koden said as he channelled small amounts of Raiton chakra into the tips of his fingers, he hadn’t used a technique like this before but he was sure it would work; especially taking into account her current state of fatigue and how tired she was. She sat to his right side as he channelled the Raiton chakra into the tips of his fingers on his left hand, which was hidden by his side so Inari would not see. Surely she did not know why Koden would say he was sorry, but she would find out soon enough. The jutsu wouldn’t hurt her, so he knew it was okay to use. He had already made the assumption that when she would awaken however, she would not be pleased with the Aburame. But he had no choice, she would feel better in the morning; Koden could see through her lies anyway so in a weird way what he was about to do was for her benefit anyway.

Koden brought his left hand up slowly out of Inari’s peripheral vision, slipping it up against her cheek as he looked at her finally, using the palm of his glove he trailed his hand up higher which would distract the kunoichi so he could deceive her and do what he had planned to do, quickly grasping the front of her head, making sure immense pressure was applied, he did not wish to hurt her. He pinkie and thumb sat upon her temples which would easily effect the temporal lobes as his other three fingers would sit upon her frontal and parietal lobes. The shock wouldn’t hurt but would be decent enough to affect the whole brain to render her unconscious without any pain. Inari’s eyes widened as the shock was delivered as her eyes came to a slow close, falling onto Koden, she used him as her pillow unintentionally as her arm feel to his chest, her hand being hooked on his shoulder as her head rested beside it. She looked surprisingly comfortable, as well as peaceful. Koden looked back up to the caves entrance, the rain too now seemed peaceful. He enjoyed the bliss, even if the weather wasn’t amazing; he did like the rain as long as he wouldn’t in it. These were the moments he fought for, the moments he would die for.

[The Next Morning]

Six and a half hours had passed and the early morning had come around. Today was the day, Koden was actually anxious. He had a knack of being injured in order to protect his comrades and he knew that today’s target was extremely strong, perhaps too strong for these young shinobi. He almost questioned the Raikage’s judgement to send them on a mission like this, realizing what he was thinking he would immediately eradicate the idea from his mind. He dare he question something like that. Inari awoke finally, the fire eventually going out as the sun barely emerged but still provided an early light for parts of the cave. Koden would move away from Inari would had just woken up, not speaking a word to the kunoichi about how he handled the situation last night. He would progress over to the camp, beginning to pack everything back into the scrolls, entering the tent and packing up everything in there too while the boys remained asleep. His voice finally consumed the silence that lingered in the tent. “Rise and Shine boys, we’re leaving immediately.” he said as he watched them wake, walking out the tent he awaited until everything and everyone was out of it before packing it up, leaving the cave empty, he opened his bag, placing the scrolls back in it; bring out two apples, hurling them to Morel and Kyo; expecting they were awake enough by now to have the appropriate reflexes to catch them. “Breakfast…” Koden said as he pulled out two more and proceeded to zip up his bag. He moved to Inari, handing her an apple still not saying anything to her as of yet as the last apple was his. He took a large bit as he chewed the piece thoroughly before swallowing; the refreshing juices of the ripe apples made him regret not bringing more. Koden would not consume anymore yet as he continued to grasp it in his hand. “Our trip won’t be as long as before, our destination is on the very border of Bear Country so it will be quick. Let’s go.” Koden spoke quickly, his things were back, placing his apple in his mouth so he could adjust his backpack once more, grabbing the apple once more in his left hand, Koden would charge to the caves exit leaping off of the cliff past the path down to a group of tree’s that resided below. The fall was long, but nothing a ninja couldn’t handle. Koden surveyed his targeted landing zone as he fell, spotting a thick branch that he could land on and force himself off, progressing across the treetop for approximately fifty metres fancily leaping from tree to tree and flipping at his last branch before gracefully hitting the ground below, bursting across the dirty terrain suspecting his team was still behind him.
