| It was a lovely sunny day in the lightning village. The sun was shining and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. All of this excess sun also made it a hot day. Due to these weather, most of the villagers in Kumo were staying indoors to avoid the heat and humidity outside. The Tarok household was no exception to this and everyone in the family was inside the house lounging for the day.
Since she had nothing to do the entire day, Zilva wasn’t dressed in her normal ninja attire and was instead wearing a whit vest over a tank top shirt along with a red skirt and stockings. In the deep confines of her room, Zilva was sitting in her corner workshop adjusting her gauntlet. While the chuunin exams were going on she had made it a goal to make herself more combat effective so that she could at least be able to match the new chuunin and even the failed genin when they came back. Surprisingly, Zilva felt a lot better about not participating in the exams. One plus was that she was sure that she wasn’t ready for them and that she would of failed, and the other was all of the free time she had. Not only did she not have scheduled meetings and missions to do that would of taken up her time, she had more time in general as compared to a working ninja. Most genin would of used a majority of this time to train themselves but Zilva had secretly been spending it for something else as well. Something she had discovered she loved recently that had become a ‘dirty pleasure’.
Silently, Zilva sealed her gauntlet back and crept over to her large bed. Sliding her hand under her large pink blanket, Zilva pulled out a book. The title of the book was The Golden Man and Zilva hugged the book as soon as she pulled it out. Quickly, Zilva put it on her pillow and then jumped over to the door and locked it shut. After another leap Zilva was back on her bed with a smile on her face. After taking a few seconds to listen and make sure no one was coming, Zilva relaxed and began reading the book from the very begin. Instead of feeling gleeful about reading the book, the book just made her feel as bored as before she began reading it. This was not surprising due to the fact that Zilva had read the book multiple times ever since her recent mission to help the librarian rewarded her with it. The book seemed to be getting old to her, she had read it so many times that she could even quote it.
After a few minutes of reading, Zilva decided that it might be time to go and get a new book. Ever since all of her books were donated to the library, The Golden Man was the only book she owned. So, after grabbing her wallet, Zilva opened her door and began walking down the hallway of the house towards the front door. “ Time to go shopping!” She un willingly exclaimed throughout the entire house. “ Ooops…!” She whispered to herself. A momentary lapse of judgment stopped Zilva from doing the smart thing and hide her book via sealing it. Instead, She pulled out a pen, scribble the title out and pressed it against her breast in an attempt to hide it as she ran towards the front doors of the house.
Much to her surprise, Zilva made it out of the house without even having the guards halt her and quickly ran towards the market district of Kumo. Once arrived Zilva sealed her book in her scarf and began to walk around the area looking for some sort of bookstore. The reason she wasn't going to her usually one was because people knew her there and she really wanted to avoid familiar faces.

| It was early, too early for Inari, that is. The sun was already high up and the girl was still sleeping in her king sized bed. The unpleasant sun rays shined on her face, causing her to wake up. ''Damn light...'' she mumbled as she pushed aside her light blue coloured blankets and went over to pull the curtain as to block the light. She then walked over to her bed proceeding to lie down again but she was stopped by something hairy rubbing on her foot. Her piercing blue eyes darted down and detected the being that was hindering her from another two hours of good sleep. ''Azure...'' she whispered in an angry manner at the black cat. Azure just meowed and kept rubbing on her foot. ''Yeah, yeah. Relax..'' she said rolling her eyes sleepy as she exited her room and went down the kitchen in order to feed him. She opened the dark brown cupboard and took out the cat food and cornflakes as well as two bowls. She went on to open the fridge, pulling out cold milk. ''Shit, it's almost empty.'' she said, obviously being annoyed by the fact that her mother hadn't bought new milk. ''MOM! THE MILK'S EMPTY!!'' she screamed up the stairs not caring if she was asleep or not. Azure hissed at the sudden loud screech the girl gave off and jumped on the table, continuing to hiss. Inari turned around and glared at him while putting her and his bowl on the table. ''Oh, shut up and eat.'' she said with a grimly facial expression and started eating her breakfast. After eating she threw the bowls into the sink, knowing that her mom would wash them later. Inari walked up the stairs into her large room and dressed herself deciding to go buy a new book since she had read all the books in her room. And she had a lot of books; The floor, the shelves, her desk, her bathroom and even her closet were covered with books. Mostly scientific and medical books. She had a lot of fantasy novels, too, but her favourite books were about the functions of the human body and mind. Inari put on her self-made kimono and did her hair as usual. The girl took some money from a commode and went downstairs, walking out of her house as she slashed the door behind her with great force just to get on her mother's boyfriend nerves. Azure jumped out of the open window and followed the female into the market district of Kumogakure. As she was walking through the bazaar, she attentively observed the people running around in a hasty manner, as though life would slip away from them any moment. It was annoying her, but not too much. After all, she had her own impression on life; It was there to be enjoyed, and to be lived at slow rates. Anyway, Inari was going to enter her favourite bookstore which had all kinds of books. Whatever your heart desired, you would find it here. Her hand advanced to open the door when she noticed a girl that was aimlessly walking around, seeming to be searching for something. Inari would ignore her, but Azure slightly scratched her leg implying she should help her. The girl sighed and walked over to the juvenile. ''Hi there. You seem to be looking for something, can I help?'' she asked in a friendly manner, smiling at the girl. True, the blue eyed girl didn't want to help but nevertheless she wasn't going to be rude. |

| The hustle and bustle of the crowds was something that Zilva was not used to in any sense of the word. Being a pampered rich girl, she rarely went to marketplaces and usually went to bigger more expensive stores of simply ordered what she wanted. However, this wasn't a large store, this was a giant mass of people trying to sell their goods to everyone passing by. Zilva found herself confused and angry at the little amount of room there was to even walk around. It seemed that every step she took she would walk into someone else's path or bump into someone. This only was getting on Zilva's nerve and she was almost to the level of aggravation in which she started swinging her fists or just go home and punch something. After begrudgingly apologizing multiple times, Zilva swore that if she bumped into one more person they would get a good old uppercut to the jaw. Not surprisingly, Zilva bumped into yet another person and was about to let loose a mean uppercut when she heard a voice behind her.
The voice was from another girl who apparently had some manners since she asked Zilva if she needed any help. Before turning around, Zilva switched her face from an ' I'm about to kill you' look to more of a 'I'm a kind person' face. After turning around, Zilva was face to face with the only person in the immediate area she didn't want to punch in the face. Ignoring all of the people around her that caused her so much aggravation, Zilva began to speak to the girl. " Hello, my name is Zilva and I came here looking for a book store. I've been here for a while now and I'm so confused by this crowd... I'm so not used to this. Please help me!" Zilva said in a voice that would suit an academy student better than her. 'Even if I do go to the book store now there will be someone else there that knows me... maybe I should just go another day? No... I'll just get my book secretly and buy another book as a cover up! Yeah, thats what I'll do!' Zilva thought, putting a plan together in her mind.

| While Inari was waiting for the girl to turn around, she noticed some people watching them. At first it didn't bother her much, but she could feel that something wasn't right; Something was wrong with these people. The female's eyes quickly twitched from right to left, discerning two men, one on her left and one head on. 'Hm... What are they up to?' she thought, while her face remained completely nice and kind. It wasn't showing any signs of suspicion or trouble. Well, given her family background, this girl had to learn how to be an excellent actress. Her pink lips formed a warm smile as her blue eyes wandered again to the girl who introduced herself as Zilva. ''Well, nice to meet you, Zilva. My name's Inari. I know a good bookstore, it's this one.'' the young girl said, while pointing at the bookstore some meters behind her. Suddenly, Inari grabbed Zilva's hand, as she saw the men walking in an accelerating speed towards them. ''It has all kinds of books in here.'' she informed the girl, as she pushed open the door and disappeared among the crowd into the bookstore. Being inside the bookstore, Inari had time to think. Who were these men? What did they want? Did her mom send them or were they meant for someone else? For Zilva, maybe? Inari didn't know the answer to these questions since she knew nothing about the other girl's background. It was likely for her mother, or more for her boyfriend, to have sent someone after her to spy on her or to eradicate her existence. Anyway, Inari now focused on Zilva and on helping her find a book.
The bookstore was a huge imposing building; It was different than the other buildings on the market. From outside it looked like a ran down edifice, but when you entered it, it looked like a palace. Not only was it excessively large, but it was also furnished with the best of the best. Reason was, that an old author who was renowned for his best selling fantasy books, had established in Kumogakure because he found the landscape inspiring. Being enchanted by the beauty of the village and the admiration he received from the local people because of his great work, he decided to open up a bookstore which featured his own books, as well as other writers' novels. As time passed by, the variety expanded on scientific volumes as well. The bookshop had a ground floor and two basements. The ground floor was full of medical and mostly scientific books in general and it had chairs and canapes to sit on. The first basement included fantasy novels, crime fiction and pretty much anything else that was story based. The second and last basement had historical books and biographies of famous writers. Inari turned to face Zilva and let go of her hand. ''So, what are you looking for? This floor has medical books and stuff, the first basement fantasy books and the second basement books concerning history and writers' lives.'' |

| Like Zilva expected, she was offered help by the girl and was told about a good bookstore. She also told Zilva her name, Inari. As Zilva was listening to the girl talk, she was secretly started to put some sort of plan together. ' Maybe I can use a clone to go and find a book for me while I pretend to be looking for something else? No... after I find out where this place is I should easily be able to come back to it and get my book later. For now, I think I should go find some weaponry books.' Zilva thought as she continued to listen to Inari speak. Suddenly, Inari grabbed Zilva's hand and started to pull her towards the bookstore. Although Zilva was tempted to let her true nature go and get violent with Inari, there seemed to be some sort of reason for the sudden action. Before Inari started talking, she had been somewhat twitchy as if someone was chasing her. At first, this didn't mean anything to Zilva because Inari might of had some sort of medical disorder, but after the sudden rush towards the bookstore, Zilva's became suspicious.
Going along with Inari, Zilva began to move too instead of being pulled. Once they got inside the bookstore, Inari seemed to calm down a bit and Zilva pulled her hand away. Before Zilva could ask Inari what that was all about, she was captivated in the size of the bookstore. Being rich and spoiled, Zilva wasn't really accustomed to 'commoner' stores, food, and pretty much everything else. She had always assumed that all of the stores and buildins in the market place were small family owned places with little selection of goods. This bookstore broke Zilva's view of the 'commoner' world completely and all she could do for a few seconds was stand in awe at the sight for a few seconds with her eyes wide open and shining in the light of the store. Shaking her head, Zilva recovered from her shock and looked back at Inari. Not surprisingly, Inari was still thinking about something, most likely what she had been worried about before. When she was done thinking, Inari started to talk to Zilva and gave her a basic layout of the library.
" Well, I was looking for a book about old technology so that I might be able to incorporate some of the genius designs behind them into my own arsenal." Zilva explained with a smile still on her face. "Before we look for my book though, would you mind telling me why we rushed in here so suddenly? Is there something wrong? Was someone chasing us or something?" Zilva asked in quick succession. Zilva didn't really care to much about whatever Inari's answer was, she just wanted some sort of answer, true or not. 'If it's a lie, doesn't really harm me in any way. If it's the truth I might be dragged into something I don't want to be a part of... I guess every question has it's risks.' Zilva thought as she awaited an answer. |

| Inari carefully listened to what Zilva was searching for and adjusted to her needs. She was about to turn around to go search for an according book, but she was stopped by the girl's sudden question. The young Chuunin had expected something like this and thus had already prepared an answer. "I have an allergy to the sun's rays. If I stayed some longer outside, I would get minor burns." she answered, confident about what she was saying. Inari was a great liar, indeed. She had learned that one had to be good at concealing the truth. The girl didn't lie to her because she didn't like her; It was rather because she didn't want to worry her. The blue eyed girl turned around and approached a book shelve filled with technological books. As she was searching for an appropriate book, someone neared her. "Inari, darling. Nice to see you. Did you enjoy the book about the functions of the human body and mind?" came an old and rusty voice. It was Mr. Tamashi, the owner of the bookstore. The female considered him a grandfather of some sort. He was the only person who she had gotten close to and was friendly to her. He also treated her like his own granddaughter. "Oh, hello Mr. Tamashi! Nice to see you, too. Yes, I found it very educative. Now I have a whole other view on how and why people work like that. Thank you for suggesting it." the minor said in reply as a smile cracked on her face. "Mm, I'm searching for a book. A book about old technology." the girl slowly said and the man immediately looked at the shelve and searched for a book. After a couple of seconds of his hand hovering over various books, he pulled one out and handed it to Inari. "This is an extraordinary example. It contains the oldest and cleverest technologies of different cultures." he said smiling while Inari was reading the summary of the volume in her hand. "Thank you, Mr. Tamashi! I guess that will do." thanking the man, she walked over to Zilva and showed her the book. "He says that's a good one. Look at it, if you don't like it we can get another one. I'll be in the back. I need to get a book about Chakra and Muscles." Inari said and disappeared deeper into the bookstore.

| Zilva listened intently to Inari's response to Zilva's question about the sudden rush to inside the building. After Inari was done with her explanation of the event, Zilva started to think about it. ' Skin allergy...hmmm' She thought as she continued to look at Inari. Suddenly, something hit her, something that helped her instantly deduct that Inari was lying. There wasn't a flaw in the way she said it, in fact, Zilva was amazing at the amount of skill and effort Inari put into making this lie seem truthful. What gave it away however, was one of Inari's physical features, her skin. Inari had told Zilva that she had a skin allergy and would burn in the sun. The problem with this was that Inari's skin was tanned. Not a hereditary or real tan like Zilva's brothers, a sun tan. Using this, Zilva deducted that Inari had in fact been tanning and therefore had no allergies to the sun that would cause her to have to get out of it so quickly. Confident in this deduction, Zilva concluded that Inari was in fact lying. Although Zilva felt proud that she could see through it, she decided to just let the lie fly by responding with a small nod. Like she was thinking before, even if it was a lie it may be something Zilva didn't want to get into or just something you wouldn't tell an acquaintance.
As Zilva was still doing a little bit of problem solving in her head, a old man walked over and began to talk to Inari. Apparently Inari knew the man because she began to talk back while Zilva continued to look around the store. For a few seconds, Zilva began to zone out. Inari and the old man were talking about a book that had to do with the human body, which was something that bored Zilva to tears. The way she saw it, unless your a medic, you didn't need to know anything more than common sense about the human body. Keeping your body fit was something that any ninja should do but Zilva found that a well constructed weapon always comes on top over anything just a person could pull of. This had been a topic of debate for a long time in the ninja world, might versus technology, and Zilva had chosen her side when she had constructed her first weapon. ' Technology always triumphs', was something Zilva said quite often when arguing with her fellow kunochi, who were mostly medical ninja, about this subject.
Returning to reality, Zilva realized that now Inari and the old man which was now identified as 'Mr. Tamashi' were talking about the book type Zilva had asked for. Shaking her head, Zilva began to listen with re-newed interest. After hearing the book request, Mr. Tamashi began to skim along some bookshelves for a second until he found the appropriate book. He than pulled the book out of the shelf and handed to Inari along with a brief comment on the quality of it. Taking the book, Inari showed it to Zilva and she took it into her arms. As she was examining the book, Inari said that she had to go do something else and left Zilva alone. Seeing this as her chance to go get the book she was actually looking for, Zilva walked over to the check out counter in order to ask about another genre of books. " Excuse me, my name is Zilva and I was wondering if you could tell me where I could find the romance books in this store." Zilva asked with a slight bow. " Over in the back of the store, one of the last shelves." The man behind the counter responded. Bowing again, Zilva turned and dashed towards the back of the store.
After a few seconds of going through groups of people browsing a variety of books, Zilva found the shelf she was looking for. After frantically searching the shelf for something of interest, Zilva spotted a box set of 10 books, an entire series. Not taking the time to even read the title or description of it, Zilva grabbed the box of the shelf and ran back to the front desk. " I'd like this and this book on technology please." Zilva said as she put the box on the desk along with the technology book and pulled out her wallet.

| " 'Chakra Theory'...'Muscles And Nerves'....No, no. Mm....'The Connection Between Chakra and Muscles And How To Use It Right' Ah! That's it!." Inari exclaimed as she slowly walked before some old dusty book shelves when she suddenly detected the book she was looking for. It was a fat book; The kind of book that was even too much for people who loved books, medical books. But Inari was different. She literally loved books regardless of their thickness or age. This book in specific was written about fifty years ago. It was a rare exemplar, but the girl knew that she would find it in Mr. Tamashi's bookstore. Taking it into her arms, the young Kunoichi blew some dust off of it which caused her to sneeze. Not that she was allergic or something; The dust just had tickled her nose. Walking with the book in her arms towards the cashier, she noticed Zilva standing there preparing to pay. Inari let the volume fall onto the desk and pulled out some money from her pocket. The girl never liked wallets; they were too strenuous. The whole process of taking out the purse of the pocket or bag, then opening it and taking out the money, after that placing the change back into the purse which was put back into the bag or pocket you pulled it from was extremely tiring for Inari, so she avoided wallets with a passion. The youngster placed the required money on the desk, some crumpled notes because of them being purely stuffed into the girl's pocket. The cashier had already packaged Zilva and Inari's books when the latter had taken out her money. The medic grabbed the bag with the fat book and smiled at Zilva. "Did you get everything you wanted?" she asked as her gaze wandered to the girl's bag. It was fatter than it was supposed to be; It looked like the Genin had bought other books as well. Oh well, Inari wouldn't ask anyway. She didn't care much either. Since Zilva hadn't told her, it was something that she wasn't supposed to know and Inari had never been one of the curious people. "So, you're in for a drink? I know a great coffee shop around the corner." Of course Inari wondered if that would be a good idea since those tough looking men had appeared but she was confident that they had went off to another part of the city to search for them. |

| As Zilva was waiting for the cashier to ring up the purchase Inari came to the counter and put down her book. The book Inari had chosen was an odd one indeed. It was very thick and old by the look of it, much like the book Inari had chosen for Zilva. There was still a considerable amount of dust on the book despite the fact that Inari was now purchasing it. Zilva had to admit that Inari had a very strange taste in literature. In most cases, Zilva steered towards more modern books in order to keep herself updated on all of the latest technology. Maybe she was judging Inari too quickly, but Zilva assumed that Inari was the kind of person that ‘enjoys the classics’ and loved ancient books. ‘ I just hope she isn’t one of those crazy medical ninja who thinks technology takes a backseat to biology…’ Zilva said to herself.
Although she was curious about the book, Zilva tried to hold back on the questions to avoid them being redirected back to her. When Inari pulled out her money, Zilva gave the cashier her own with some extra. “ I was wondering if you could have these delivered to my house, I’d really rather not carry them around all day.” Zilva asked the cashier as she handed him the money. “ Sure thing miss, just write down your address and we’ll get them there later today.” The cashier replied. After Zilva was done talking to the cashier Inari asked if she would like to go for a drink. Before replying to Inari, Zilva reached inside the box set of books she bought and grabbed her weaponry book so that she could take those with her just in case she had some time to read. “ Sure, I hope they serve something besides coffee though. Never cared for the stuff. I tend to stay away form it because it stunts growth and can yellow teeth. I prefer tea or fruit juice myself.” Zilva said to Inari with a nod.
Looking down at her book that she grabbed from the box set, Zilva opened it to the first page, since the cover of the book was just a solid tan color, and read the title. ‘ Men of Wax: The Manor. That’s an odd name, I wonder what it’s about… maybe it’ll be better than the one that lady at the library gave me. I hope all ten of them are better! I can’t wait to read them!’ Zilva began to think, letting her mind wander. As she did this, her eyes wandered up towards the ceiling and a pink blush spread across her face. After a few seconds of this trance, Zilva shook her frantically and return to reality. “ What is your book about?” She blurted out, trying to avoid the awkwardness of the situation. “ Also… if we go outside, won’t your skin get irritated again?” Zilva inquired with a small smirk on her face. Zilva’s small trance had temporarily disabled her ability to reason and she found herself fall into two pits that she had been trying to avoid. However, she only realized this after she had already made her attempt to dig into the two previously restricted inquiries. Inside her mind, Zilva was quickly trying to formulate some sort of response to any questions she may be asked next while also feeding her desire to get answers for the questions she had asked. Up until that point, Zilva had been halting her normally curious nature. ‘ Well, I guess this can’t end too badly.’ She thought. |
