- Spirit Chakra: Members of the Akumu clan have what is called Spirit Chakra. This spirit chakra like no other chakra cannot be used to perform any Lightning, Fire, Eart etc in any form. Instead they are able to turn this Spirit Chakra into the Darkness Release. This Spirit Chakra is in some way like a normal chakra except for the previous statements explained above. Instead it has a different color to it, and it changes as the person's personality changes. For example an evil person's spirit chakras would be a dark-purple color that surrounds them. A good person's chakra would be like a normal chakra color. As the user ranks up their Spirit Chakra increases up to 5% every time he does. But because it ranks up their chakra pool increases, by the time they are about S rank, their bodies can no longer hold that much chakra and their bodies begin to have the effect that a 60 year old man/women would feel. Meaning their bones would be weaker than normal, they would fatigue faster and even die at the maximum age of about 30 years of age.

- Darkness Release: Darkness release is the element that allows you to manipulate darkness at will. Using it to conceal yourself and even perform jutsu of its own. Because this element consist of having the Spirit Chakra, the Darkness itself can be shaped, bend and hardened at will. A downside of this clan is that there isn't much Darkness in the day, because of that many people tend not to go out where they are at a disadvantage and only walk out at night where they can use their abilities to their full extents.

- Demonic Traits: Members of the Akumu clan have demonic traits, such as horns. Long tails, and some rather tall for their age. The tallest being about 7'2 in height. Members of the Akumu clan have pale white skin in their human form, so pale, that a person cannot differentiate a sheet of paper from their skin.

- Bat Wings: Akumu clansmen have wings. These wings are highly visible and have the appearance of normal black bat wings. They allow the user to fly at will and fly up to 50mph. And fly at a altitude of about 100 meters from the ground. These bat wings can only achieved at B rank and higher.

Note: All these traits have no effect on the user except the wings that allows the user to fly. All the others are just mere appearance.
