| ~~~ The evening sunshine has always enticed Kinu. Feeling its rays blanketing his skin in the last hours of its presence was so soothing, he couldn't imagine someone not enjoying it. Peaceful energy flowed throughout the village of Kumo whilst the typical day that it was. Passing pink clouds of dawn served their purpose of depicted the perfect evening setting for both the sky and the village. Passing winds from the eastern shore made their way into the mountain terrain of the village. The wind mixed the sweet scents of the delicious food of the merchants along with the exotic flora among the mountain side, making a riveting smell through the village. As Kinu walked down the streets he could hear the arithmetic melodies of the wondrous musicians who made a profit in street entertainment. The musical instruments of Kumo have always boggled him with their echoing rings and bongs. He remembered the explanation his mother gave to him about how they accomplished such interesting sounds. "Well, many instruments in the village are crafted from the mountain rock from the storm planes. Some say the rock has unique properties given its constant exposure to electricity. I guess some people learned to use that to their advantage, and create wonderful sounds." She explained. Kinu eyed the man playing the suto-mu drum shyly, and before he vanished into the forest area he caught glimpse of the man smiling back at him.
It was relieving getting away from the now growing crowds of people in the village. The birth of night would be approaching soon within hours, and as usual people wanted to finish up their daily runs which they slacked off doing most of the day. Fortunately the courtyard was becoming more private area with the innocent rumor spreading that Kinu was training with the Raikage. Only a week had passed since his first lesson in the courtyard, and since then it was becoming more common for him to receive mixes of looks from other Nin. The younger Nin seemed more nonchalant of Kinu's practices, they seem to have the belief that their own Jounin was a sufficient enough master for them. Kinu had forgotten how loyal a child's heart is to their leader, the bond between a Genin and Jounin was indeed powerful. Older Nin however have taken a more legacy approach to their perception about Kinu. Many lectured him about the responsibility and honor it is to learn under the Raikage and also the Rokushiki Style. What fascinated him more however was that they spoke to him as almost a equal, rather then a eleven year old child. Who knew that just gaining a little knowledge from the Raikage could tarnish their perception of him. But he loved demonstrating the Genpouu to the Flash Force operatives, especially his uncle. "Oh so you can fly.. so you think your tuff now huh?" Kinu's uncle teased while knocking him off the ceiling and out the window effortlessly. But through this rewarding and honoring time in his life he still hadn't forgotten about his father who went missing on his exhibition to the moon country. It was still hard for Kinu to think about him, but he knew his father was safe, he just had to be.
Although the courtyard area was the previous training location for him and Riku, Kinu felt as though a more subtle terrain would be more suitable for their training. Making his way pass the statues and benches only the sound of his sandals sliding across the grass could he heard as he made his way towards the woodland area. He applauded the landscapers for their excellent job of repairing the courtyard after their last fight, goodness knows it was work. Making his way deeper into the woods he brushed pass the skinny brittle trees and eventually found himself in a peaceful open area near the heart of the forest. The sun peeked through the every changing pockets of leaves and shined heavenly to the ground. Kinu could hear the birds and critters of the forest singing their own matching tune with the wind. He stood patiently in the open space waiting for his trainer to arrive. He proceeded to occupy himself for the time being by toying with the ends of his shirt. He wondered which varation of Rokushiki Riku would teach him today.

| --- With the door wide open the booming music trailed down the winding steps to the people below. With the base pumping and a slight vibration in the surrounding cupboards the Raikage sat in her big chair with a pen in her right hand and paper in her left. She was frantically scribbling all over each paper and stamping them with a large black stamp at the bottom as she added them to the large pile to her side. She was in the zone. Riku's mouth mimicked the lyrics of the Modestep song she was playing so loudly in her office. They were a local Kumogakure band and one of the Raikage's personal favourite's. She would often go down to the local bar at which they played every Saturday night. She was a fan of live music and the band was awfully grateful as her presence and enjoyment of their music put them on the map. They were now a local hit with their gig's selling out every Saturday night with people queuing outside the doors. But, Riku had a habit of turning up the music too loud when working and doing the tedious paperwork in her office. Her assistance and guards stationed downstairs always regretted having to come upstairs to talk as the bass would nearly peel away their skin. But they lived with it. Riku's assistant constantly has to hound her to sit down and do the necessary paperwork which the beautiful Raikage hates. She see's is a a fair compromise. If it is necessary for her to sit and do her work then she would live with it.
But truthfully Riku really wanted to get out of there. She was actually using her ninja skills to write faster by channeling chakra through her pen to the paper. She looked up for a brief second to look at the clock which sat idly on the wall. She would not make it to the training session on time if she didn't get a hurry on with this work. She still had at least twenty more Mission Submissions to work through and not much time left, but it was simple yes/no work. A gleam of ambition started to shine in Riku's eye as a hue of thick chakra started to shine from her hand to her pen, she was kicking it into high gear. As the drop of her favourite song begun she begun to write furiously. Surrounding paper started to fly around the room frantically as she flew through the submissions rapidly. She would finish on time now and would hopefully make it to the Shinobi Courtyard on time to meet with Kinu for their next training session. She was thoroughly impressed with his efforts so far in learning this difficult style. He was certainly ambitious. As her pen fell towards the last piece of paper the ink started flow rapidly forming into the work "yes", an approval for a a sea-fairing mission down south. Within an instant she got up from her chair to turn off her sterio system. This would be a signal to below that she was finished and off for the night. She knew her assistant would come up and check that everything was complete. She was like Riku's personal tutor, if Riku didn't finish her homework she wasn't allowed to leave.
To save time Riku jumped out of her high story window and her feet connected to the old stone wall outside. Using the Kinobori no Waza technique would save her some time as she started to scale the wall to down below. Using her aggressive speed she extended her quick steps into long strides as she made her way rapidly down the tower. With her arms pinned backwards and her back slightly hunched she started to run towards the Shinobi Courtyard at blistering speed. Everything in her surroundings was a blur but she could tell that it was nearly nightfall. The setting sun allowed for a beautiful pink and yellow dash of colour over the clouds which made the nightfall look all the more spectacular. It was dry and warm, perfect for training conditions. The day had been a hot one and training in that kind of heat wouldn't have been ideal so it was a good decision to train right now. Riku had been looking forward to this training session all afternoon. She loved any excuse to get out of her office especially one which involved her being able to a Kunoichi and also help a member of her village, her family. Without even realizing it she had made her way to the entrance of the Courtyard which had now been fully repaired after their last training session. Like everything which she broke she put the bill towards the infrastructure levy. The sun had just left a pocket of cloud and was now shining through towards the yard. She made her way to a nice open area of the forest where she saw Kinu waiting for her.
"Sorry I am darling I was held up with some pesky paperwork which needed my immediate attention. Ready to get started straight away? we don't want to loose this wonderful daylight before nightfall do we." she said with a smile on her face and a concerning tone. "Now. Last week we learn't the Geppou - Moon Step correct? This session I plan to teach you what is typically the first to be learn't out of the six stages of Rokushiki Kami-e - Paper Drawing. But before that let's see how much you have improved on that first before we get onto anything else. Show me what you've got" She said as she signalled the young lad to use Geppou. She waited for the young lad to enter his Stage One of his clan seal and begin. She was looking forward to the results and seeing how much he had improved from the last she saw him.
--- (*OOC: I would at your age/level you would need to at least enter the first stage of your seal to gain enough speed and strength to perform Rokushiki. )

- Name: Kinobori no Waza - Act of Tree Climbing
Rank: E Type: N/A Element: N/A Description: Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed. |

| ~~~ Through the shady trees of the forest a swift maiden casually walked into Kinu's area and instantly filled it with a instant rush of power and soul. Madam Raikage stood directly under a dim ray of sun which highlighted her outstanding features with golden texture. Shadows of small spade shaped leaves swept across her face and from the dancing trees. Kinu appreciated his wait time being close to none but he knew anyway that the Raikage would be on time, even with her endless paperwork. "Sorry I am darling I was held up with some pesky paperwork which needed my immediate attention. Ready to get started straight away? we don't want to loose this wonderful daylight before nightfall do we." She said concerned. It was true, the daylight was remarkable even though its features was primarily blocked by the beautiful umbrella trees. Wasting such a thing would be unlawful, but then again Kinu was always a early night person. Kinu smiled at Riku as she continued on speaking, while also following the bizarre flying patterns of a gnat he spotted around her left shoulder.
"Now. Last week we learn't the Geppou - Moon Step correct? This session I plan to teach you what is typically the first to be learn't out of the six stages of Rokushiki Kami-e - Paper Drawing. But before that let's see how much you have improved on that first before we get onto anything else. Show me what you've got"
Kinu nodded his head after her words. During this weeks pass all he could simply do was practice his newly learned Geppou. The style seemed to grow more onto him from when he first tried it back in the courtyard grounds. During his long sleepless nights it was common for him to frequently enter the training field and practice this skill. He would place himself on a empty space filled with trees and use Geppou to serenely hover in the air while kicking passing birds and squirrels that came his way. The more he trained the technique the easier it was to implement some taijutsu into the mix. Now he was comfortable with performing some dynamic kicks into the air with the surety that he wouldn't tumble back down onto the ground and breaking his pride. Now in a few days pass of intense and fun training he was eager to demonstrate his level of Geppou to both the Raikage and hopefully impress the great leader.
Kinu quickly transformed into his monkey state from activating his Shukyou Seal. His hair transformed from its silky blond state to a now bushier shoulder length threads. His pupils shrunk with animosity and his muscles tenses with the flowing power. "Okay Madam Raikage, lets see what I got-" He said sweetly as he took a few steps back. Squatting down to a partially limp like state, he centered himself momentarily while proceeding to leap enter the forest air. Looking straight up he could see the leaves of the tree coming closer to him, and their very bark sliding through his peripheral vision. He started to gain tunnel vision as he rocketed upwards and finally reached a point where it was time to use the technique. "Geppou!" Kinu shouted while flexing his leg muscles with graceful yet potent force. He kicked the air under him as though it were a malleable. He danced to the motions of his kicks and sustained himself in the air in a consistent level. Slowly he descended back to the ground, exerting less force into his kicks in the process. Touching the ground with the tips of his toes he was proud of his success and gave himself a small pat on the back.
Going back to what Riku had said, Kinu was ecstatic to learn yet another stage of the Rokushiki, too bad he was still clueless as to what it was. "So Kami-e - Paper Drawing? So did I like.. need to bring a pencil or something? I have some crayons somewhere. Let me see-" Kinu said awkwardly while ravaging through his pants pockets. Having not cleaned the inside of his pockets since his academy years he knew there were some crayon tips in there from their coloring assignments. He'll find it eventually.

Name: Geppou [Moon Step] Rank: D-S Type: Taijutsu Element: N/A Description: This is commonly the second out of six base technique a user of the Rokushiki will learn. Geppou is the art of the air kick. Geppou allows the user to actually jump off the air itself, allowing them to stay in the air for much longer than usual. Rokushiki users can use this technique to cross great distances without ever touching the ground, or set themselves up for swift, aerial attacks. While the technique itself affords several advantages both in and out of battle for the user, it has but one major weakness: since its usage depends heavily on the user's legs, restraining or pinning down any major parts of their lower body can significantly disrupt Geppou.

| --- With the sudden activation of the famous Yamazaru Seal Kinu had changed into a primal human state. His blonde hair grew outward into a rough bush-like state, and his body began to physically change. See was excited to see his progress with Geppou and if he had modified it to his specific bodily needs. Adaption would be the only way that someone could perfect such an art. With everyone different in a unique way it is difficult to set the same training template for everyone's needs, especially when it comes to taijutsu. With power and precision the young shinobi pumped his legs with strength rising in the air above. Riku like a mother hawk watching over her babies fly for the first time analysed and kept a close eye on what he was doing. He showed good balance and dexterity with his ascent, but lacked vital speed. This would most likely come with his body maturing and Kinu gaining a greater understanding of the technique. His descent was also well skilled. Once again his balance and poise stood-out in what was like a performance on stage for a taijutsu user. With the tips of his toe's he gently touched down on the earth below without a single sound. Riku could tell that the young boy was "chuffed" with his efforts, and he should be.
Riku knelt her head slightly and closed her eyes for a second. with a subtle movement she stretched out both of her arms in what would seem an awkward angle. Reaching into her side pouch she pulled out five simple kunai and opened her eyes once again. She looked up and issued Kinu with a friendly smile "Well done, good job. Now it is time to give you a demonstration of Kami-e another form of the Rokushiki. Now in front of Kinu, she handed the five kunai over placing them gently in the palm of his hand. Riku then turned her back and began to walk back to her original position, speaking louder so Kinu could still hear her voice with crystal clarity. "Ok Kinu. I want you to throw these kunai as fast and hard as you possibly can. You can co-ordinate the spacing and timing of the kunai in any which way to make it as deadly as possible. Kami-e is the art of not getting hit. By simultaneously flexing large groups of core muscles within a users body, they are able to gain an unparalleled level of dexterity and flexibility within their body. This will allow you to move your body in ways you could never before. But this is not a purely defensive style, you will find that with this new found skill you will be able to use your body in a whole new way giving forward a new selection of taijutsu technique's which can deliver superior flows to a target". Riku took a deep breath. "Now on 3 I want you to throw. 1, 2, 3!" she said in a booming voice.
She could see a small smile run across the young boys face. She thought that he would like this style of exercise. Young men his age like to get an opportunity to show their worth, to do a practical exercise while training. She found that kunoichi more than often succeed when training is more theory based, compared to male ninja and a practical approach. Though combining both is how someone should ultimately learn, finding the right balance between the two will allow for training to run much more smoothly. As the young shinobi geared himself to throw the kunai she wondered if he would offer any deception in his throws? She had hoped so, not for her benefit but for his. This style of Rokushiki is often under-looked but it could be one of the most beneficial for more an a single area of fighting. He would learn that this is not just a cheap party trick but a way to gain much more control over his body. As the first kunai left his finger tips Riku yelled "LESSON TWO; KAMI-E - PAPER DRAWING."

| ~~~ Kinu's attempt at finding the ancient crayon was short lived and self considered a small failure. Pulling his hands from his pockets he gave each one a single assuring tap to make sure weapons were the sole items in each pocket. A frown formed from his small pinkish lips and he stared at the ground for a long moment. Looking back up at Riku she appeared to be doing the same, but her eyes were closed and her face soft. Oh lord I done put the Raikge to sleep! Kinu thought while instantly becoming animated again. His tail curled up to something like a question mark and his hair sizzled in place. Had he been looking for his coloring utensil for that long? He didn't think so. This Kami-e technique was already confusing him which typically isn't a good sign. If this variation of Rokushiki was similar to the Gennpou then he hoped his talents would make him prominent in it as well. Gennpou was by far the most fun and interesting skill in taijutsu which Kinu ever learned. Having spent countless nights under the resplendent bare moon he had yet to find something as useful and challenging as the Moon Step. He wondered of the other four stages of Rokushiki would be more difficult to master, and would his own lackluster abilities compensate for their high demand of physical prowess. A sense of doubt dreaded upon him at the coming thoughts that entered his mind. Now that he'd realized it, it was almost sad that it was mandatory for him to enter his primate state in order to learn the techniques. Was his human form not good enough? What does that say about him? For whatever means he did not let his ego become damaged during this time, he had a crayon to find.
A motion performed by Riku attracted Kinu's attention as he now watched her retrieve five kunai from her pockets. The kunai clanked inside her palm and emitted a low frequent screech as their edges slid across one another. They were fairly simple red hilted blades that appeared to be freshly polished and ready to kill. Kinu was a bit befuddled by the action, and to what purpose these five kunai would serve. Kinu extended his bare hands towards Riku, where she gently placed the weapons into his palm. Securing the weapons in a tight little fist he brought it over to his side while paying his attention back to Riku. She walked back to her original spot and began to speak with her natural elegance, but a bit loud especially with Kinu's now enhanced monkey hearing. He listened to the Raikage explain both the Kami-e as well as how their training regimen would work. Apparently the Kami-e was the art of not being hit. Sounds simple enough Kinu presumed, with his inherit skill of agility and dexterity from his monkey focused ancestors he felt he would surely learn the Kami-e without much problem. This technique would surely serve a good purpose in Kinu's arsenal along with the Genpouu, he figured it was one step closer to learning something 'cooler'. Not saying his current Rokushiki skills were lacking, but he couldn't wait to learn something more destructive given his wild nature.
The countdown began and Kinu was prepared to see the skillful demonstration of Riku as she planned to dodge the kunai he would throw. She stated that she wanted him to throw the kunai in the deadliest fashion he could think of, but Kinu wasn't a weapon specialist. Obviously being more of a hands-on type of boy, his need to learn a few throwing tricks with cheap metal seemed useless to him. But all aside he planned to do the best he could, and do it well. Smiling as he stepped back a few paces, he separated the kunai into each of his palm. Three of them rested in his right hand while the other two in his left. Flipping his head back in a dramatic pose he took one kunai from his right hand and placed it in his mouth. Performing a arching sweeping motion this his hand, the two kunai from his right hand hurled towards Riku, one aiming at her chest while the other focused on her throat. Performing the same motion with the other hand Kinu twirled both Kunai in a quick and blurred fashion at Riku. One aimed at her pelvis while the other her thigh area. Not a moment later Kinu took the blade from his mouth with his right index finger and flicked it at Riku's head. The blades were spaced out from each other at approximately six inches and were honing in the Raikage fairly quickly. |

| --- With the kunai in his hands the young shinobi Kinu who was in front of Riku began to react. Looking like action was about to begin Riku's eyes were firmly fixed on the target in front of her. Smiling, he took a couple of steps back while separating the kunai she had given to him into his opposing palms. Before she could make out how many were in each hand Kinu quickly pushed one of the kunai from his right hand into his mouth and with a dramatic sweep he threw two of the kunai. Hmm...it does seem as though he is taking this seriously, well here I go Riku thought to herself as she began her own move. Like a overly flamboyant movie-star Riku moved both her arms out and said Kami-e loudly. Within an instant shutter her muscles flexed instantly, simultaneously. Like an elegant flowing river Riku's body begun to move cohesively, like a piece of lone paper floating in the wind. The amount of dexterity and precision looked to be uncompromisable and foreign. But it was more than possible. Her body would feel as though it was limp and lazy for that moment in time, as though she was under complete external control like a puppet on a strings. But, looks can be deceiving as in this state she had more control then she would ever have with her body.
With her eyes fixed firmly on her target she locked onto the initial attack of two kunai hurtling straight for her. Without hesitation she she flicked her head back aggressively trying to initiate some quick momentum with her body. Then she swung both of her arms downward at the same which allowed her to completely flex her back downward toward the ground much like that of a matrix style movement. She then bend her knee's slightly to edge her whole body closer to the ground below. She felt the kunai fly over her body with the 'woosh' of air rotating over her. Within her mind she thought two down another three to go and her reaction was now focussed on the others that might come. From the exactly position she used to dodge the kunai before rolled her body to the left allowing her left hand to subtly touch the ground below. This gave her the right amount of leverage to propel her body left doing a dramatic cartwheel action as her body swung violently. With both hands firmly on the ground she pushed down with her arms to generate some strength to keep propelling herself left. This allowed her to perform a two-part cartwheel in quick succession as she twisted and landed on her feet four to five meters to the left of her original position. She could see out of the corner of her eye the other kunai trailing in her wake simultaneously missing their intended target.
With her vision up right he focussed her attention back onto Kinu who now had a single kunai in his mouth. She did not even look at the shinobi's eyes, her own vision being unwaveringly focussed on the kunai at hand. Nearly instantly she had to dodge again as Kinu took no time in wasting his last throw. The kunai was heading for her head, and at speed. Like a master of the Rokushiki Style should, she focussed her Kami-e technique just to the muscles in her neck. As the kunai came she tilted her neck to his right-side and slightly back allowing her neck to roll slightly backward. The kunai came rocketing past her and this time it was too close for comfort. She wanting the last kunai 'dodge' to be dramatic for effect but she had nearly got her left ear split into two. As it sailed past hurtling into a tree she rolled her neck back up and laughed. "So, what do you think Kinu?" she with a smile. He would need to learnt to focus all of his core muscle groups and be able to initiate them for this technique to work. Riku walked over to him and they begun to talk about what he would need to do for this to work.
Too and fro they would into the night trying to perfect this technique. He would need to grasp the basics first and that is what they would do.

| ~~~ As Kinu watched Riku dodge the small fleet of blades, it was undoubtedly the most fluent and graceful motions he had every seen. She demonstrated expert flexibility by bending completely backwards to avoid the first couple kunai and to dodge the others by performing a dramatic cartwheel off to the left side. But when Kinu executed his last throw with uppermost tackiness, Riku barely had time to read his movement as he quickly hurled the blade towards her head. For a mere second, Kinu thought Riku was a goner. Thinking that he'd thrown the blade too fast he sincerely hoped his fair lady would dodge the weapon in time before her brain and the metal became really close friends. Luckily Riku managed to avoid the kunai by flexing her neck, even if it was by a few inches. The kunai drifted pass her ear and struck a tree creating a thumping sound.
Both Kumo shinobi laughed after they straightened themselves up. Kinu was still amazed by her quick and serene movements. After relapsing the memory quite a few times he started to understand a bit more. Her muscles flexed in incredibly degrees and fluctuation, which somehow allowed her to move the way she did, light as a feather. From then on she continued to do so but in different places in her body he'd guessed, but something like that was impossible if it were true. How was she able to utilize spontaneous muscle groups like that from such a short time? It was amazing.
"So, what do you think Kinu?" She said as she made her way towards Kinu. For about thirty minutes Riku explained to Kinu the specifics of how to activate his core muscle groups to move and heighten his body. It was difficult to understand, but being somewhat in a disciple in the fitness field Kinu grasped on fairly quicker than most would. After their discussion they made their way deeper into the training field. Although the shadows of night were nearly upon them, the light of the moon and stars was enough to aid their vision. Plus they were ninja, darkness was far from a problem. On the brink between the courtyard forest and the training area various training supplies and mechanisms where accessible to the field. On the emerald trees of the forest lay a multitude of blunt wooden kunai launchers that released upon command. Kinu would preferably use these launchers to practice the Kami-e.
ooc; are we training oot or continuing to post? |
