"This is bull sh...." But the words never finished in Yamato's mind, he was to exhausted and his brain was just recently awakening. It was still quite early in the morning to be even thinking about a mission, let alone a B-rank assissination. Yamato was positioned directly outside of the village, to be more specific, he was leaning against one of the two giant doors that bared the 'Kirigakure' kanji on their giant doors. One foot was placed firmly on the ground while the other was bent and placed against the door, knee up. His eyes were closed but he opened them slightly enough to notice the mist that clung tightly on the ground, about knee deep, but slightly lowering as the sun simultaneously rose, a slow process. The sky was purple but on the horizon a mix of bright orange and red pushed the darkness up and away, the events of the previous night leaving with the new day. Yamato decided to recollect his thoughts and decipher just how the hell he ended up waiting outside the Kirigakure gates at 7:42 in the morning.

All he remembered was having an amazing dream about becoming Mizukage as the whole village cheered him on, only to have his glorious dream be crushed by the repetitive noise coming form his front door. Knock after knock after knock, he just lay on his bed, looking at his ceiling and cursing at it, groggily letting a yawn slip and pulling the sheets off his cold legs, walking slowly to the door. The thing that annoyed him the most was despite getting up to answer, the person must've knocked atleast 300 times between the timespan of getting off his bed and walking to the door. Opening the door with slight anger mixed with annoyance, he yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?," but he only got as far as 'What.' The man was dressed in the Kirigakure flak jacket, but he added a scarf. It was cold outside, now that he remembered it. With his synapses fully recovered, Yamato's personality kicked in, instantly becoming emotionless, supressed under his ninja like professional personality instead, his feelings becoming dormant. His manners also returned to him as soon as he noticed the man, being his age, must've been a jounin sent on a courier errand. A small scroll was shoved into Yamato's hands, with a gruff "Morning genin," coming from the man as well. "Mizukage-sama knows your a genin, but you'll be accompanied by a chuunin... so I guess it's okay to give you this," said the man. He seemed to be worried for him, but for what. His brain was working pretty slowly, but then it finally hit him, as they stood there for a couple of moments in the darkness. The scroll was a mission scroll! They were full of details on the mission at hand, but then the words spoken only 10 seconds ago hit him as well, a chuunin?

This confused him slightly, as he was a genin, and a very rookie-like genin, who had graduated only 2 months ago at age 11, and that was because they wouldn't let him graduate any younger. This was his first mission ever, at 6:50 in the morning, being accompanied by somone he didn't even know. Boy, the mission council sure was hard. He quickly thanked the man, who nodded politley and dissapeared in a cloud of smoke and mist, the Mist Body Flicker. What an honor. He walked blindly around his house, trying to reach his table, reaching around in the darkness until the back of his hand hit a chain, which he then grabbed and pulled to turn on a lightbulb. He pulled out a chair, making a scraping sound, and sat down. Carefully, he pulled the seal off the scroll, placed it on the table, and rolled it open, exposing it's contents:

Kirigakure no Sato - Village Hidden in the Mist
B-rank Level Mission
An extremely powerful scroll has been stolen from the Sound Village by a lone Nukenin. The man with the scroll seems to have an safehouse somewhere in Kirigakure and was seen heading in the direction of the Forest of Fog. The Mizukage demands the retrieval of the scroll but not for the Sound Village but for Kirigakure. Your mission is to go eliminate the man, bury his body and bring the scroll back to Arashii himself. Under no circumstances should you open the scroll, you will be punished accordingly if you do so orif you fail. The mans skills are unknown[u], approach with [u]caution but engage skillfully. Mission Participants are Suihou, Hachirou and Yamanaka, Yamato. Please complete the task swiftly and quickly. - Mizukage

Underlined was the important details, made to make skimming easier. Below that was a list of signatures required in the long process of mission creation that escaped his mind at the moment, being replaced with questions. "Assissination? ME? Shouldn't the village ANBU be doing this instead, or for that matter, the Hunter-Nin? A mission.. is a mission I suppose..." Yamato thought at the time, his mind now wide awake and excited as well as nervous at the prospect of having his first mission a B-rank one. After that, he remembered getting some breakfest, getting dressed, brushing his teeth, taking a huuuuuuge dump out of nerves, and making his way towards the village gates, the start of the mission.

Yamato chuckled slighty with a straight face after remembering all this. "Oh yea, THAT's how I got here..."

"You seem prompt, in the least." Hachirou said, perched upon a tree not far outside the gates. The young chuunin twirled a kunai around his finger, watching the young shinobi with a grin on his face and an appraising look upon his face. He'd arrived not long before the genin had, choosing instead to watch and gather some small bit of intelligence on his new companion. Hachirou, although flexible, was hardly one to rush into situations he was unfamiliar with, even if he'd readily adapt to whatever changing circumstances he was forced into. Thus, knowing more about his new partner seemed far better then just jumping in feet first without any knowledge.

“Bit young, but I was the same.” he continued, leaping down from his post and next to the genin. He landed with grace. Unlike Yamato, Hachirou had been up for quite some time, as he always was. The Chuunin had long taken to waking up early, given he was tasked with more than his handful of early morning missions, and this was no different. His scroll was long immolated and the information burnt into his mind. He folded his arms across his chest, hitae-ite hanging from around his neck rather proudly, rather than hidden as was his usual habit. Show of unity with the rookie.

“Of course, I also had killed a few times before...” he continued, walking around the young man continuing his appraisal. He ran through what he knew: young, fresh from the academy, Yamanaka. Thus was more or less the extent of his knowledge, but how the boy was acting was providing other information about his habits and nature. Part of Hachirou would have felt bad about analyzing him this way, but the other part of him was pragmatic enough not to care.

The Chuunin looked away, towards the Forest of Fog, and frowned. No trackers made this something of a pain. He needed to fix that some time; he had the control for being a sensor, and since his separation from his team, he found himself missing his old teammates abilities more and more. Perhaps he'd have to pick that up some time...

He shook the thoughts from his head and returned to the task at hand. Hachirou turned and leaped off.

“Come on, we'll talk as we move, we haven't enough time here.” he said, expecting the genin to follow. He'd get a better handle on him as they hunted.

"You seem prompt, in the least," Yamato heard, a voice from above him. He knew the basic shinobi code, show no feelings, but he couldn't help but let small grin escape as his head turned and his eyes travelled upwards, relieved to have somebody of higher rank and experience guide him through the mission. “Bit young, but I was the same," said the ninja, now walking towards him with an analytic face, observing him. He knew the face, for he had given it to many before him as well. Though most people would consider it rude or insulting to treat another like a problem to be solved, he sympathized in his head as he considered the situation they were in: A morning assissination with a teamate he had no knowledge of. Yamato, trying to guess the other's thoughts, supposed he was trying to simply gather information on looks, habits, and other small factors to gather some intel on himself, than none at all. Yamato noted his appearance as well, as he couldn't help but have an unusual sensation by looking at him that something greater in the future would happen with him. Shrugging off this feeling, he came back to earth as the shinobi spoke again: “Of course, I also had killed a few times before...” It was true. Yamato hadn't killed yet, not since his mere graduation being 2 months ago. Come to think of it again, it was his first mission ever, not counting the mock E-rank missions of the academy meant to simulate real life. This was the real deal, and the meaning of the words kill and assassination finally hit him, somebody was going to die today. But Yamato knew better than to doubt his own, and especially his new ally's ability, the person who would die was the target, and it was this mentallity that would drive him to complete the task at hand.

He glanced up at the shinobi, his head looking at the ground as he heard him speak, and noticed him frown at the forest of fog straight ahead of him, maybe a small 25m before they would walk into it, and their fears were shared. They were litteraly walking into blind territory. He was sure the man knew his way around the woods as well as Yamato, but the fact that there was an enemy they had no intel on was there too made it more dangerous. He had no sensory abilities, except the Hidden Mist technique, where he could sense the general area of his opponent's through his own chakra in the mist, but the situation required for this type of sensory would be the middle of battle, and right know they were more on the tracking approach. “Come on, we'll talk as we move, we haven't enough time here.” He communicated with a silent nod, and followed his lead, there was enough exchanging looks and the mission was begining.

Of course, Yamato was speaking to himself this whole time, lost in his mind, so he decided to finally talk. "We have no idea who this guy is or what his abilities are..."Yamato said uneasily. There were many variables in such a mission, and if the pair of them weren't careful, many things could go wrong. He supposed his anxiety could be read off his face, so he adjustsedhimself and suppressed his emotions as he talked with more confidence, "So what's the game plan, coach sir?" Yamato asked politley. He didn't know exactly how to talk to the man yet, he could've been like those other chuunin douche bags who demanded respect out of everyone's ass simply because they were older or they got lucky with their team at the Chuunin Exams and passed. This one looked different however, and he awaited his response. In the mean while, the short conversation seemed to carry them a far way ahead, as they had entered the fog of forest a while ago, and Yamato made note of the fog that continued to get steadily thicker. There were patches of area that were free of fog, however, and Yamato hoped that where ever this criminal scum was hiding, it would be a wide clear area, so as not to provide advantage to either party, not knowing his abilities.

"I know what is in the bingo book, and little more. All things considered, I'm not particularly impressed; he has no unique skills, just general aptitude." Hachirou said, looking back at the young genin. What were they thinking, sending a fresh graduate like this? This was more than a trial by fire, and Hachirou worried that the boy might become a liability. If push came to shove, he most worried that he might have to abandon the shinobi; a cruel thought, and one he did not take lightly, but true never-the-less. He kept his gaze forward as he lept off another tree, not bothering to moderate his usual pace at all; the boy would learn, or else.

"We will take him easily should we find him, I've no doubt; finding him, however, may be the real challenge." he continued, heading into the woods with murderous intent; indeed, he forced out as much of his desire to kill and slaughter the target as he could as he began. The purpose was simple: Flush him out. His killing intent might only radiate out so far, but there was at least a chance that this running shinobi would make himself known, on purpose or not, simply trying to evade the very killers who would then be able to catch him. Or maybe not. No tactic was perfect, and nothing survived first contact with the enemy. Of course, if Hachirou had his way, the enemy wouldn't survive first contact either.

He absentmindedly rested a hand on the hilt of Ankou, one of his paired kyoketsu-shoge, and wondered if he'd gett a chance to use them in this fight; he knew that the battle would need to go one of two ways, given the target's capabilities. Either he'd try to keep him at range, but a ninjutsu duel might not end up in his favor, even with his bubble techniques; Akumou's doton techniques gave him flexible defense and offense, and his taijutsu skills made closing in difficult. Thus, he would do as he often did with such targets: keep them at range with his kyoketsu-shoge, but too close to effectively utilize their ninjutsu skills. Flying Sparrow would be invaluable in this case, extending his already unpredictable range to even greater distances.

"So, tell me, what can you do? I need to know how to use you if you're going to be my partner." he asked suddenly, never taking his eyes off his path. He had gauged what he could from looking at the boy, no need to do that any more.

Yamato listend silently. It came into his thoughts that he was thinking a little too hard at the mission at hand, and changed his demeanour a bit, relaxing. It was unusual how simply deciding to take it easy, as he felt the stress in his head loosen, and his body felt his body, which was slowly tensing up the deeper they have gotten into the subject. He took a deep breath, taking in the smell of mist and fresh earth, nature entering his body. He took in the details the young but skilled Chuunin spoke of about the target, and though listening intently, he only showed a response when asked about his abilities, in other words, his usefullness as a shinobi and a future tool of the Mizukage. Somehow some simple question like that triggered an unknown determination in Yamato that even he didn't know about, plunging his emotions deeper into supression and motivating him once more.

"Well, obviously im young and still developing my skills. But of what I already have, I specialize in distractions, diversions, but more importantly my status as a member of the Yamanaka clan give me the advantage when it comes to capture, recon, and espionage," said Yamato calmly, though speaking to the ninja, deciding to divert his attention to the possibility of their target somewhere near them. They had drove deep into the forest at this point, and the closer they walked into it, the more the weight of an assassination layed on them. He began to tell Hachirou about the various Ninjutsu he knew, his affinity to water, the basics of the academy, the village classic Hidden Mist, and his secret Shintenshin Technique - The mind body switch jutsu. "In other words, since he is most likley to underestimate a genin like me, and since you have superior abilities, we can use me as the decoy and your techniques as the main attack," said Yamato, formulating strageties now that they were on the subject. However as his mind was working something came across his train of thought.

"By the way, what are your abilities?" asked Yamato curiously, as it dawned upon him the only real thing he knew about the shinobi was his name. He was unusually curious about the ability of an upper shinobi.
