- Mission Title: Formation Intel! Fire Country
Mission Type: Village Specific Mission Location: Fire Country Shinobi Requirement: 1x Jounin, 1x Genin (Footwork, Zilva) Mission Rank: C Mission Objective: A simple reconnaissance mission out of Kumogakure's known Boarders. The participants are to send intelligence back to Kumogakure from every boarder they cross which is unmanned by Kumo-nin outlining any shinobi activity, especially with any major nation shinobi movements. The final destination will be to set up and establish a Spy Network in the Fire Country. Though a simple mission participants need to be ready for the unexpected at all times as hostile movements around these area's have already been confirmed. If confronted use any means necessary. Good Luck! Mission Time Limit: 3 Weeks Maximum Min Post Count: 3 He took a second to double and triple check the piece of paper that he himself had been handed about the situation in which he was in charge of. He was waiting on a single genin that would be accompanying him as a utility, and while his initial response was that of a sigh, he shook off the negative vibe. After all, he was a shinobi too and if he was coming along then he could most likely hold his own, or hopefully he could. They would be headed to Bird Country to set up a spy network that would over look the surounding countries; Wind and Earth. He already had the plan as to how he would make that happen in place in his head, as being in the rice business came with it's perks of the business world as well. He doubted he had to worry about any shinobi stepping in and getting snoopy, but having a big brother connection over their fellow world power sungakure and Iwagakure would give Kumogakure something of an advantage, and where to start but from the ground up.
He folded his arms, and looked about himself and the map he was given. They also had to do a short recon of the areas that they passed through; this wasn't anything more then being conscious on their way to Bird Country and drawing a few simple conclusions, but what was the best way to get there? This was the forest that would cut through Frost and Hot Water Countries, North Fire Country to Rain country where they could get to Bird Country. That crosses four boarders and not that it was meant to be minimulistic it was more an attempt to be efficient for the time that they had. It was only then that it had really occurred to him where they were going, and based on the whether, the fire dominant Jounin would be at something of a disadvantage. Even his advanced element release form was dampen by normal rain water. Hopefully this was where his genin utility would come in handy if something were to go wrong in the more moist regions of the continent, though he had a special plan for him as well while they were in the company of one of the most industrialized cities in great nation continent, and their neighboor, the secretive Country Bird.
It wasn't meant to be violent, which was good, and alot of traffic came in and out of bird country making it great for capturing a central location of intel for Kumogakure. It was no wonder the Kage had issued this mission to them with some secret. What could he do now but wait for the genin to arrive. He was given a file on him, but neglected to look it over as a personal principle of morals. He didn't want any preconcieved notions of the genin, and wanted to judge him for who he appeared to be, not what was written on paper. Some would say that something like that was nonprofessional, but to him it was just common curtsy. If Kumogakure believed in him enough to send him, then he would trust the genin's experience to be wise enough to handle whatever was given to him and to speak up when he may be bighting off more then he can chew.
He stretched to the left and again to the right, "Well... on the road again! Let's do it." He said to himself at only a whisper. |

| The day had come, the day Zilva was finally recognized for her greatness and had been requested for a secret mission. Zilva knew that she was destined for greatness and that if she kept doing missions and becoming popular with the village ninja that she would be in the spotlight eventually. This was what Zilva liked to call her personal manifest destiny, that she would one day be world renowned ninja. In fact, that was what really kept Zilva on her ninja path. It was her nindo, her ninja way. The one problem with this nindo was that it wasn't one that could be openly announced. Those who lust for fame find that their loyalty lies with the highest bidder.
With a large yawn, Zilva woke up to another day in her quest to be beloved. Still in the middle of yawning, Zilva began to rub her soft silky hands against her shining olive eyes as if telling them that it's time to wake up. " Today is going to be a great day!" Zilva exclaimed as she leaped out of bed and landed in front of her dresser. After looking at herself in the mirror for a few seconds, Zilva dashed into her closet and changed from her pajamas to her mission outfit. Then she walked across the room, stopping to check herself in the mirror again, and went over to the door. Next to the door was a large bag that contained all of the supplies she would be needing that Zilva had packed the night before in an attempt to be on ready and on time for her big mission. Grabbing the bag Zilva walked out her bedroom door and went through the manor and out the front. Once she was at the walk in front of her house, Zilva accelerated down the street and towards the gates of Kumo.
Zilva made it to the gates in record time and was confronted by her comrade for the mission. Zilva had been on solo missions, team missions, and a mission with a chuunin, but she had never been on a mission with just her and a jounin. A feeling of pride filled Zilva for a few seconds and she introduced herself. " My name is Tarok, Zilva. I'm a weapon a fuinjutsu user and your teammate for this mission." Zilva said to Jax. Zilva had read the information she was given on Jax and found that although there were some things she liked about him, most of his traits were undesirable. After a closer examination of Jax from head to toe, Zilva sighed. " Would you mind putting a shirt on?" She asked with a huff. |

| He looked to this girl who was apparently the 'Zilva' that was he was waiting on. 'Ohh... Ziiilvah. I guess that is a girls name huh...' he thought to himself as he listen to her explanation of herself... weaponry and fuuinjutsu... then she would most likely be more keep to traps and the setting there of. It would fit a niche that he himself had limited experience in.
"Genin, right? Haha, a shinobi isn't what they wear or... what they don't wear. They aren't what they look like or how they appear... besides, where we are going we won't look like who we are anyway." He said, plucking from his pocket a pair of pictures, " Here is a picture of a citizen from Konoha. Give it a look over as we will be maintaining this Transformation for the majority of out stay in the Fire Nation. Ohh yeah, I'm sure you've gotten a version of the plans but they have recently been revised. Instead of a more aggressive front we will be doing more of a centralized patrolling," This was the first time he would actually turn to look at her when he was speaking to her, "While you will be accompanying me on our mission to establish an espionage network, it will be your responsibility for the patrolling and placing of traps... we have plenty of resources for that."
He turned back, looking out of the gate out of Kumogakure, " Prepare yourself mentally! Fire Nation is probably one of the most stable of countries, but it still has it's own thriving black market fueled by gambling. The selling and trading of shinobi goods comes directly from corrupt operatives of ones own country and fueled money and greed. If we want to know whats going on inside Konoha, then we will find out by wetting a few whistles so to speak, but we are also to make sure that our own boarders are secure and try to prevent unknown movements of other countries."
He formed a single hand sign before 'Poofing' via henge into a more fitting outfit for a native of Konoha. "We will continue the briefing on the move for interest of time... do you have a quick mode of transportation?" He asked, biting his thumb and pressing it to the ground in the customary summoning jutsu style... reveling himself sitting on top of a big ass bird. |

| As soon as Jax began to talk to Zilva without even turning towards her she assumed that he would be more of the arrogant type. The kind of person that flaunts their rank around as an 'I'm better than you' ticket in order to make lower ranked ninja feel inferior. However, instead of passing judgment then and there, Zilva listened to what he had to say first. Instead of the expected words of arrogance or anger at Zilva's comment, more comical words came out that Zilva had not expected. Although surprised, Zilva greatly preferred it over the way most jounin talked. " Well, you should still wear something. It can get cold in the mountains ya know." Zilva replied to Jax with a small grin. After talking about his lack of a shirt, Jax tossed Zilva a picture and she caught it in her hand.
" So this is what Fire Country people wear? Really bland clothing. Nothing really sticks out or has any interesting colors or textures. I mean, come on. Even the people in our village have a better sense of fashion than this. Maybe while I'm there I can give these poor people some lessons. I'm almost disgraced to look like them... but it is for the mission. I really think we should just go in there and kick their fucking asses. Ya know what I mean? Just jump in there and ruff them up a bit until we get some compliance out of them. That would be my plan... when I'm a jounin at least. Until then I guess were stuck with this wimpy plan. I mean, they sound kinda tough but a punch to the face or a kick the balls has the ability to correct anyone! Although, it does come with the side effect of crying and bleeding for the recipient!" Zilva said as she went form examining the picture to kicking and punching the air around her. After taking a breath and calming down a bit, Zilva looked back at the picture and henged into the image she saw. " Great fashion sense..." She sighed. After transforming, Zilva looked back at Jax who had also transformed, " Hey, at least you have a shirt now." She smirked.
Zilva was expecting Jax to start running and lead the way, but instead he bit his thumb and summoned a large bird. After summoning the bird Jax asked if Zilva had any form of transport like it. " Um, no... I don't have a summoning contract yet. The only thing close to that I have is a boat, but I can't even use it... it's my Dad's. Mind if I ride with you?" Zilva said as she jumped on top of the bird and sat next to Jax. " I hope you won't mind." She said with a wink before taking her bag off her back and placing it in her lap. |

| (Sorry for the huge delay. The adapter to my lap top broke and I just got it replaced!)
His bird like summon wasn't necessarily built for two, and though he hadn't said anything, the bird looked out of his peripheral vision to the girl then to Jax who gave him something of an ignorant look to 'Ohh well', "Unfortunatly he isn't fly worthy with too much weight. Not saying you're fat or anything, just two people is a bit much for em'. You ride the bird, i'll just run. We are comparative in speed anyway." He said, much the end part simply to inspire his bird personal summon who had been rivals in running for quite some time and basically the basis of their friendship and how they came to be Summoner and Summon in the first place. Before they took off there was on more thing he had on his side, taking it from his hip and tossing it to the girl so that she would catch it, "Thats a scroll provided by and issued as standard traps for Kumogakure. You are going to be setting them about the boarder. We will be setting up a parameter for our patrol before heading to Fire Nation itself... and I'll let you handle it. Think you're up to it?"
"We have plenty of time so we will spend today into tonight doing that... then we will stay in Frost Country over night where we have already been granted a place to stay. After that, however, we are on our own." He said, as he began walking forward, then taking a step that resulted in an explosion of speed; moving forward with the help of gravity itself to ascend down the mountain that the hidden cloud village so graciously set perched upon; The majestic bird summon would take off himself too, gliding along beside him effortlessly. The mission would officially start now, and based on their success, they would be awarded a knowledge that infiltrated the heart of the Great Shinobi Nations themselves.
But there was a lingering thought in the back of his mind as well. Something in the atmosphere that wasn't completely right. Little did he know, but Sunagakure was performing a hostile take over of Bird Country, a move that was almost unprecedented in a time of peace; a single move that may attract alot of attention in the near future. From now it was only a shift in what was, a slide in the balance of things that set the acute senses of the mind into anxiety. The same primal fear of the beast that rests within every living thin and he was no exception... but with no knowledge of this, he thought this only as the nervousness of the rest of the mission; he would be dealing with less then favorable individuals in territory that, with his line of business, wouldn't be very fond of him being there. While it would seem procedural, the slightest slip up could be detrimental for himself, and for the genin that accompany him. First thing was first however... and he had no time to be anxious.

| Jax's comment before leaving the mount to get ready to run didn't exactly take Zilva by surprise. In the little time she had known him Zilva had already figured that he was the kind of person to say things like that and joke around during an important mission. This, of course, didn't prevent her from getting annoyed at him. This annoyance was shown with a small nostril flare and a flick of her head in the opposite direction. Zilva kept her head like that for a while before putting it back and listening to Jax. Jax told her that she would be in charge of setting the traps for the patrol and handed her a scroll with all that she would need. " Of course I'm up to it, I didn't come on this mission just to sit around do nothing." Zilva replied before sliding the sealing the scroll in her scarf and unsealing another scroll from it. This scroll was nothing more than just something to write on and Zilva placed it in her lap.
Shortly after handing her the scroll, Jax bursted out and the mount Zilva was on followed him. The duo traveled until night time which was when they stopped for the night and continued in the morning towards the border of Fire Country. Throughout these travels, Zilva kept a note of everything in the scroll she had taken out by writing it in her seal language and observing everything around her.

| IC: It's cool, i'm move things along. Next post is in Konoha.
It wasn't too long until they had completed their routed patrol. It was quite for the most part and they even made note of all merchant and travelers that were seen along the way. It wasn't uncommon for people to be traveling between countries, as in time of relative peace the boarders opened up and free trade seemed to help everyones economy. It was a unifying force, however it was also a soft spot in just about everyones 'defenses'. The monitoring and trafficking of substances in and around the village was important. It wasn't wise, after all, to allow just anyone to walk into the confines of the nation sporting goods to sell.
Though that was somehting of a side note, it was something to take into account as the same rules would apply when dealing with Fire Nation. It was naive of them to think that Kumogakure itself didn't also have some manner of black market, however, even the underground had it's place in the economy. Most of the weapons coming into the black market, infact, came from other places and thus formed a melting pot of technologies depending on what came in and out. The village itself had one hand in this, actually monitoring what came in and what came out; and instead of trying to contain what is otherwise criminal activity, it was just stricken up as a potential source of the shinobi realm. It wouldn't be unreasonable to beleive that another hidden village would have it's foot into the underground. While it wouldn't be impossible to lurk in the black market for long enough to find those with proper intel, it wouldn't be without ti's risks.
It wasn't long until they had reached their first destination within Fire Country. It was a small inn that was actually owned by a former Kumogakure native and sat on the northern boarder just within the nations limits. It also worked as something as a check point for Kumogakure ninja and a hidden watch tower for the region. The owner was given funds simply for the job and allowed kumogakure shinobi in and out from their mission as they passed through it was a simple undertaking for the amount of money and security they would secure and even now their was many others that were noticably of Kumo decent wondering about; most likely shinobi on missions of their own. When they got there they would already have had their reservations and rooms ready and prepared for the night. "Well, the fun part starts tomorrow... we are going to the nations gambling city and taking a look around their so get some rest ehh?" He said, keeping it as unpersonal as possible as he marched off, up the stairs to discover the room for himself...
Assuming the night would pass soundly, they would emerge in the morning to greet Konoha with espionage intent! |
