The Yuubaku clan was originally a clan of Iwagakure no Sato in the Land of Earth, but since the devastation of that country many of the clan have become wandering shinobi, sometimes falling in with the other villages. One particularly large group has set up in the Land of Wind, becoming an up and rising clan amongst the shinobi of Sunagakure no Sato, and are known for their use of an old kinjutsu that has become their hallmark.

Clan Traits:
The Yuubaku clan is known physically for their blond hair and blue eyes, often keeping the former in a somewhat longer state. They tend to have, fittingly, explosive personalities and tempers, a fact that can be dangerous to both property and people around them if they are particularly undisciplined.

The Yuubaku Clan tend towards the elemental affinities of Katon and Doton, though they are less-inclined to learn techniques of either, preferring to stay within the realms of their explosive techniques and taijutsu. This is less of the case for the family group in Sunagakure no Sato, who tend to focus on the Daton techniques more than other clan members.

Precision Control
The Yuubaku train very hard on their chakra control, as the precise application of their exploding chakra is key to the destruction of their enemies and, more importantly, their own survival! As a result, most Yuubaku have chakra control more in line with medical-nin, rather than the combat focused shinobi they usually are. Ironicly, few Yuubaku become medical-nin, mostly because it takes away from the time they could spend mastering their explosive arts.

Eardrum Protection
The Yuubaku have also created a technique that is drilled into each Yuubaku from their earliest days; they can use chakra to strengthen their eardrums, thus preventing them from being damaged by the massive blasts and pressure waves of their explosive techniques. It is such that most do it instinctively, and it does not really tax their chakra systems at all.

Hipou: Chikara Koneru no Jutsu (Secret Art: Energy Kneading Technique)
A rare gift of only a select few of the Yuubaku clan, the Hipou: Chikara Koneru no Jutsu is less of a true 'technique' and more of a body modification. It usually manifests as a set of mouths located on the users palms, but in theory could manifest as something else or elsewhere on the body, such as a mouth on the chest, or simply using the users own mouth. These mouths can ingest objects, kneading them and infusing chakra into them. This allows the user to place their chakra into materials, for various purposes. The most common application of this ability by the Yuubaku is to infuse explosive chakra into something like clay, thus creating a material that can be used as a remote explosive.

However, it should be noted that only a very few of the Yuubaku have this, and many find it both distasteful and a corruption of the main style, leading to a sort of rivalry between the two groups of the clan.

Kekkei Genkai:
The Yuubaku clan possesses the kekkei genkai of Bakuton, or Explosion Release, a unique form of nature transformation that has more in common with the rare Iron Sand kekkei genkai of Sunagakure no Sato in that it is a conversion of chakra that produces a non-standard effect without being a true elemental release, and that it does not draw on any two other elemental natures. In the case of the Yuubaku and Bakuton, this effect is the conversion of chakra into raw explosive power, channeling it into whatever they touch.

The nature of the gift means that most Yuubaku are consummate Taijutsu fighters, with a short list of clan ninjutsu that are mostly intended to compliment their close-range power; there is much to be said for a taijutsu style where blocking is simply not an option, and even striking back can cause as much damage as an attack.

Description: The core of the Explosion Release, Bakuton: Yuubaku, or Induced Explosion is truly the key to the entire kekkei genkai; it's the most simple application of their ability: touch something and cause an explosion at that spot. The ability requires no hand seals, being a simple channeling of their special chakra to a point, where it is then detonated upon release from the body. The charge can be shaped, although not guided; essentially, while the blast can be directed in a certain way, it cannot be made to 'chase' someone, and continues in the direction of it's initial blast. However, on the positive, the ability to shape the charge allows the user to either focus the blast on target for 'precision,' or as close to precision as the Yuubaku can get, or widen the blast so that even near misses can be dangerous.

The force of the blast is rated in the equivalent number of basic explosive tags it can release. The blast force a shinobi of each rank can release is listed on the table below. A shinobi can use the blast of any power lower than his maximum rank, up to his maximum, and the chakra drain is equivalent the rank of blast he is releasing. This is the true cost of the techniques used by the Yuubaku; the other ranks for taijutsu techniques are simply notes of when they can be learned, rather then their drain.

Description: A simple technique of the Yuubaku clan, the Bakuton: Eikoudan no Jutsu, or the Flare Bomb Technique, is a basic distraction or blinding tool, where the user creates a blast with a snap of his fingers that can deafen, blind, and create a brief burst of billowing smoke. In short, it replicates the effects of a flash bomb.

Description: A peculiar technique in the fact that it is neither offensive nor defensive, and yet still draws upon the explosive power of the Yuubaku bloodline, the Shundou no Jutsu, or Despicable Acts Technique, is actually a maneuvering technique that uses bursts of explosive force to adjust the users trajectory, thus allowing them to move mid-air, leap extensive distances, or slow themselves down should they be going to fast after the fact. It takes some training and skill to get the hang of using it and balancing the right amount of chakra to create a burst just enough to counteract the momentum, but becomes an invaluable tool once mastered.

This can have as much force as he can release, allowing for significantly more powerful tags than those used normally. These tags are keyed to his chakra, and may only be activated by their own command. Otherwise, they are used as an explosive tag would normally be.

Emphasis: Bakuken is a pure taijutsu style, as the Explosive Release abilities of the clan are less inclined towards weaponry use due to the difficulty of finding weapons that can withstand the force of the blast.
Requirements: At it's core, Bakuken is a very simple style, and could be easily emulated. However, without the Bakuton, or Explosion Release, kekkei genkai it would be fairly useless to do so, as it is tailored specifically for that gift.
Description: Neither as overtly strong as the Goken, or Strong Fist, nor as elegant or swift as the Juuken, or Gentle Fist, the Bakuken, or Explosive Fist, is instead notable for being perhaps the most overtly destructive taijutsu style ever created, a fact that should seem obvious considered it more or less amounts to strapping bombs to your fist and punching people. Never-the-less, this strange nature makes it unusually related to another style known for it's destructive potential: chakra-enhanced strength, a usually medic-only ability due to it's precise chakra control requirements. Likewise, the level of control required for Bakuken is almost legendary, but results in equally legendary results, particularly at the higher levels of it's style.

Bakuken is a fairly inelegant style when it comes to visuals; it is not flashy, but instead is direct and to the point.

Jutsu:

History: Designed generations ago when the Yuubaku clan first organized itself, the Bakuken style is a tradition amongst the clan, even as they spread and become more and more dispersed. It is based on the twin treatise of Ranmaru and Mari, the Book of Earth and Stones, and the Book of Trees and Stones, as well as parts of the incomplete Book of Gems and Stones. The practice of the techniques and entire style form a core of remembering the clan and it's old homeland, despite their being spread across the world and in various villages. When wandering Yuubaku encounter each other they will usually swap developments of the style, allowing for it to continue developing and spread the advances of the rest of the clan with it's various elements.

History:

There are two stories to the Yuubaku clan, and they go back many generations. Much of the old history has been lost with the great destruction that befell the Land of Earth, but there are some key elements that remain in the clan's oral records, passed down from generation to generation just like the traditional elements of their fighting style. There are old plays and performances told at clan gatherings, though the disparate branches of the clan have changed minor details over the years and brought some confusion as to the true origin of the clan. What is agreed upon, however, is that the first clan patriarch was a man named Ranmaru, and the tale of Ranmaru is not one one of happiness, though it does reflect the tenacity of the clan quite well.

Ranmaru was a ninja in the days before the great shinobi clans, when war was the standard of the day and one had to fight to survive. Ranmaru himself was a wandering shinobi, selling his services as protectors along with his brother, Mari. The pair were consummate taijutsu fighters, and many of their style, laid out in their two treatise on the martial arts, the Doseki No Sho, the Book of Earth and Stones, and Bokuseki No Sho, the Book of Trees and Stones. Both of these remain the core of the Bakuken fighting style used today. They chose to settle down after years of fighting, settling first in what would become the Land of Wind, and it was here that they began work on their third treatise.

The tragedy of Ranmaru begins when he and his brother Mari were sparring one day, working on the text that would become the ill-fated and never completed Gokuseki no Sho, or Book of Gems and Stones. While practicing new techniques, Ranmaru felt a stirring in him, and decided to draw on this in the fight. Forcing chakra into his hand, he landed a strike on his brother that produced a massive explosion. Shocked and dismayed by the results, he found that he had accidentally mortally wounded his brother in the strike. Wracked by grief, the man fled to the north, into the territories that would become the Land of Earth. Falling back into his old ways, a fact that worked strangely for his benefit.

Ranmaru fought for and against many warlords and daimyo, even going so far as to be caught up in an attempt to kill one of the strongest of the daimyo in an attempt to free his young family from use as weapons in his army. Fleeing from that, Ranmaru would take on the surname of Yuubaku, and join with a warlord who would go on to found Iwagakure no Sato, the Village Hidden in the Rocks. It was here that the Yuubaku clan was truly born.

Alright, just a status update for my fellow owner, as well as anyone else interested in the clan: Taijutsu style is mostly done, some jutsu done, some kinjutsu done, history half done, clan abilities mostly done. Honestly, it's all about 50-75% of the way complete.
