| Subject: Kitsuki Clan [Complete] Fri 25 Mar 2011, 5:22 am | |
| Clan Name: Kitsuki Location: Worldwide Signature Traits: Although Kitsuki's are as diverse as the lands they hail from, some similarities remain between them all; both from genetics and traditions. First of all, all Kitsuki's have naturally purple hair- though the exact shade can fluctuate- and a pale complexion. They tend to be suspicious as first, and are always on the lookout, and take much after the personified views of a raven; hence why in Kitsuki lore, they're related to the birds. As for dress and style, there is no standard fashion, and all Kitsuki's can have their own personal taste. However, all Kitsuki's will receive tattoos ceremoniously, regardless of gender or location in the world(as all Kitsuki's attend the yearly Ritual of the Raven-Born and the bi-yearly Coming of the Purple Moon ceremonies). When a Kitsuki comes of age, s/he receives a tattoo of the clan's symbol- an ornate purple crescent moon- on their right, upper arm. In addition to this, and the many other ritualistic body art, many Kitsuki's will also have a tattoo done for anything significant done in their life. Marriages by clan members are done with matching, unique tattoos, instead of jewelry used by other cultures. Kekkei Genkai: Kuraigan - The Dark-Seeing Eye
- Spoiler:
Kuraigan, Kekkei Genkai Stage One - The Shadowing Eye This is a simple Doujutsu, known by almost all Kitsuki's of age. When activating this, the user's eyes turn a solid, dull black, but allowing then they can see twice as far in half-light and pure darkness, and at the same range as their normal vision. This jutsu takes only the most minimal of chakra, and is quite commonly left permanently on. This doujutsu must be activated for ALL of the following jutsus to work.
Kuraigan, Kekkei Genkai Stage Two - The Soul-Seeking Eye This Kekkei Genkai allows the user to basically track down the life-force of anybody or anything with a soul they see. The user must have seen the targets face for at least a few seconds. Then the user can track the target, no matter how long it has been since they met. This leads to why they say a Kitsuki never forgets. When the Kitsuki uses this, they can see where the person is(in their normal range of sight, which changes depending on the time of day and brightness), thus allowing them to pick the target out in a crowd. If they're hiding in like a forest, or a place where visibility is limited, then the effects aren't as strong. The target's life-force still glows brightly, but the Kuraigan can only see the glow through about a foot of material. So large tree's, are safe for the target, but a rice-paper wall, not so much. If the target, is not in range of vision, the Kitsuki can spend a C-Rank's worth of chakra to increase the range by 100m. The maximum times this may be done, is limited only by the user's chakra. NOTE: This jutsu requires the first stage of the Kuraigan to be active.
History: The Kitsuki's are one of the 'old clans', like the Hyuuga and Uchiha Clans, but without the popularity. The Kitsuki's came around the same time as the Hyuuga's, and some scholars believe they came from the same ancestry, though that his still yet to be proven concretely. The had Kekkai Genkai Doujutsu, allowing them to see at dusk and night, and soon trained like that, eventually perfecting the art of guerrilla warfare and later went into assassination's, spying, and diplomatic warfare. Either way, they preferred it when they were the puppet master behind the throne, or when they could win wars before they were even fought with a few assassinations and some diplomatic attacks. Their methods of war, and their philosophies were all modeled after the behavior of the raven's around where they lived at the time. Long ago, they made a clan-wide summoning contract with the raven's, and have fought side by side ever since.
Back when all the clans warred amongst themselves, the Kitsuki's were small and reputable, though more of infamy then anything else. The Kitsuki's got in a three-way war with the Sakurito's(now dead clan), Tabuki's(another dead clan) and themselves. Some Uchiha mercenaries, were hired by the Sakurito's, and launched a major offensive on the Kitsuki homeland(which is around), after decades of battling. The Kitsuki's were experts on guerrilla war, and were much spread out, battling three clan's individually larger than the Kitsuki's, and were weak at home. They landed on the shores, and marched for a few days, looking for the caves which the non-warrior clan members stayed. The were attacked on and off by the few warrior members left, but most of the Uchiha's survived. they eventually found the cave, and burned it to the ground. The battle was short- most of the hamlet being common folk, and the warriors not trained for large-scale fights, but the aftermath devastating. The whole land burned for weeks afterward, thus why the battle was called 'The Day of the Burning Mist'. The Kitsuki's continued to fight on, but eventually grew too thin, and as the war went on and on, the next generation of Kitsuki's wouldn't come due to the Uchiha's slaughter of the children and elderly on that infamous day. The Kitsuki's eventually backed out, leaving the two clan's to fight amongst themselves, while the Kitsuki's tried to make up for the 'lost generation'. The two clans eventually got into the Hyuuga's way, and were crushed by them(with some under-the-table assassinations and minor raids from the Kitsuki's).
The Kitsuki's eventually recovered, but are nowhere near their previous fame or size. They are scattered throughout the lands, and serve no specific allegiance, except to the clan. They still come for the bi-yearly Coming of the Purple Moon and the yearly Ritual of the Raven-Born ceremonies. The former being 4 nights and 3 days to celebrate their relationship with the Ravens of the animal world. The ceremony takes place in the Raven Summons' world, when the moon turns purple, and is a giant feast and festival for both Kitsukis and ravens alike from all around the world. It is said that for those few days all the ravens in the world disappear for the festival, but no one has ever put that to the test. The latter is the "coming of age" ceremony, for the clan, and takes place around the winter solstice. This is where all the clan members- young and old, alike- come together to watch the younger Kitsuki's(around 14 to 15) make their bid for adulthood. This is done by completing a difficult task beforehand, given out by the Clan Elder, and bringing the prize from that as proof of their deed. Then there is a ceremony where every one of the participants must gain their Raven Summon, and the whole thing ends with the ritualistic first tattoo for each of the newly crowned adults and ravens(The ravens have the same ceremony at the same time, only they get a mark of the ornate moon on their inner right wing).
Clan Jutsu: Kuraigan: Stage III
- Spoiler:
Name: Kuraigan: Stage III - The Dreamworld Realm Rank: B-S Type: Genjutsu Range: Eye Contact Element: n/a Description: This Jutsu is fairly hard to learn, but is a devastating card, if used right. The Jutsu requires eye contact, and complete concentration, if either of these are interrupted, the jutsu ends. While having the Kuraigan out, the user can activate this, and anyone who looks into the user's eyes becomes completely immobilized and caught in the Genjutsu. The target is then mentally trapped in a world of pure bliss. The target experiences everything that they would find in their own personal Utopia. Every minute acts as a single day in this personal heaven. The user also does not wonder why this is happening, since the jutsu targets the reasoning, and voluntary movement parts of the brain, in addition to the central nervous system. If the target is in pain, or anything physical, it is negated by this jutsu. This means that the target can be attacked, or recovering from a painful surgery, and not feel a thing. The user can also see what goes on in this heaven, but is completely unaware of whats going on around him/her in the real world. This jutsu last for 3 posts, but can be ended earlier by either having the user's concentration is broken, the having the eye contact broken, or by the target using Kai. NOTE: This jutsu requires the first stage of the Kuraigan to be active. Chakra Cost:
Kuraigan: Stage IV
- Spoiler:
Name: Kuraigan: Stage IV - The Mirroring Eye Rank: B-S Type: Genjutsu Range: Eye Contact Element: n/a Description: While having this jutsu active(as well as the first stage of the Kuraigan), the User's eyes basically become a mirror for other Ocular Genjutsu of all ranks(even if the user of this jutsu is under the effects of another Genjutsu). The user is unaffected by any genjutsu of a lower rank then the rank f the jutsu(so if they did an A-Rank, immunity would be of B-Rank and lower), while making eye contact with person A, but anyone(Person B) else who looks into the user's eyes, gets affected by person A's Ocular Genjutsu, if activated while Person B is looking into the eyes. Even if the person(Person B) who looked into the Kitsuki's eyes is an ally, they still will be affected by Person A's Genjutsu. When activated, the user's eyes go shiny, while still being pitch black. Last 3 Posts. NOTE: This jutsu requires the first stage of the Kuraigan to be active. Chakra Cost:
Kuraigan: Stage V
- Spoiler:
Name: Kuraigan: Stage V - Living in a Dream Rank: S Type: Genjutsu, Forbidden Range: Eye Contact Element: n/a Description: This is by far, the most powerful, and most costly, of all Kitsuki Kekkei Genkai. This takes a fair amount of chakra(see below). The more the user uses this, the more strain on the eyes, eventually causing the tendons in the eye to decay, causing blindness and serious pain. Thus, this jutsu is considered forbidden to young Kitsuki's, and a taboo among non-royalty Kitsuki's. Even for the ones of the Royal Bloodline, it is only to be used under extreme and Life/Death circumstances. The jutsu is activated by only focusing the chakra into the user's eyes, and although no handseals are required, the user must touch both of their eyes for this to work. The jutsu will then be effective for another 3 posts. If it doesn't work, it only uses an A-Rank's worth of chakra; though if it DOES work, it will costs the normal S-Rank, plus another A-Rank per every target past the first involved per 30 minutes for each person. The justu starts when the opponent(s) look into the Kitsuki's eyes, directly(common techniques used to fight Kitsuki's throughout history have been to look at their feet and fight). The Genjutsu itself is an alternate-reality type thing. The target(s) basically enter a world as realistic as the one they are native to. They keep on fighting the battle, as they would think it would turn out(though with a few differences, thrown in by the user[see below]), and continue on with their lives, as they think it would be. The user see's everything in this, and inside the user's head. The Kitsuki creates everything by using what s/he saw in the target's head and what the target thinks will happen, thus the target has some sub-conscious control, but the Kitsuki has final say on what goes on. Every post acts as a day in this Genjutsu. The Kitsuki can just leave the sub-conscious to act for anything, like an auto-pilot, but normally changes some things in the Kitsuki's favor. This will mean that the user will rarely notice something's wrong, unless the Kitsuki puts in something so unlikely, it raises suspicious, but since this is all a dream to the target(s), minor differences tend to pass off as nothing.
The jutsu can be ended by one of five things: - The user runs out of chakra - The user loses concentration(buddy system is always a thorn in this jutsu's side) - The user cancels the jutsu - The target(s) die in the Genjutsu, causing a (normally fatal)heart attack in real life - The target realizes it's a Genjutsu and wins the Battle of Wills and/or Kai(see below)
If the target(s) find out it's a Genjutsu, and breaks free whether by an S-Rank Kai, or a battle of wills. a battle of wills means that the target tries and changes the Genjutsu in his/her favor, while the Kitsuki tries and does the same for him/herself. It's basically a battle of willpower, though its not uncommon for them to put chakra into it to bend it into their own favor. Any chakra spent in the Genjutsu, is really expended in real life(for both user and target(s)). If the target(s) try and use Kai, the Kitsuki can try and cancel it by expending an S-Rank's worth of chakra. The target's/s' heart rates increase with the amount of of 'excitement' in the Genjutsu, and their legs and arms often twitch every once in a while, much like dog's do when dreaming. If something truly bad, such as death, happens in the dream, the heart rate increases to anywhere between 220 and sometimes even up to 300 beats/minute, often causing a heart attack. The heart attack lasts as long as the moment of death does(so the longer the death is, the longer the heart attack), plus another 30 seconds afterwards. People of good stamina tend to survive more, but people of all shapes and sizes have(and haven't) withstood the shock. If the target realizes its all an illusion, and that the heart attack in real life is just a result of it, they're chances go up about tenfold. If the target does break free, only s/he is free, the others are still under the Kitsuki's 'spell', though that doesn't mean the now-free target can't just break the Kitsuki's concentration and free his/her friends. Many a Kitsuki have been known to die from over-expending their chakra with this jutsu, hence why its considered near-forbidden. This will ONLY be used as a last resort, and knowing that they will most likely die after it's use. Pain felt in the real world isn't directly felt in this Illusion Realm, though subconsciously it is. If a target is having a heart attack, and sharp pain to the chest might be felt, or if something happens to the their head, they might get a headache in the Genjutsu. So pain from the real world is felt subconsciously, and not in the same magnitude as in real life. Pain from the Genjutsu world is felt normally. Maximum targets are 2 for A-Rank shinobi, though more 'experienced' shinobi(S-Rank), can manage up to 4. NOTE: If there are multiple targets, they all will experience a different reality, and the user can control them all simultaneously. NOTE: Complete concentration is required the WHOLE TIME the target's are under the effects. NOTE: This jutsu requires the first stage of the Kuraigan to be active. NOTE: This jutsu is forbidden for not only use, but even teaching it, except by permission of the Clan leader. In case of there being no leader, the heir is left in charge of this. Chakra Cost: To the Staff: Can you please replace the "A-Rank cost of jutsu/etc" in the description with the actual costs? That might make the complexity of this jutsu a little more fairer in game terms, unless you want to give a definite chakra cost.
(This is in addition to the Raven Summons, which will be applied for after Summons are released) |
