The day was nearing its end; the sun setting behind the Hokage Monuments slowly and the final warmth leaving the air. It was a mild night, however with a pleasant temperature in the air. It was very rare for a night to be cold in Konoha unless it was in the middle of winter. The sakura blossom trees were in full bloom as Konoha was in the heat of summer. The odd petals drifted from the over-hanging branches of said trees, finding their way into Kimiko's hair. A smile was upon her face while she walked, though it was small and somewhat wistful. She was cheerful and happy as always, but towards the end of the day she tired of her usual boundless energy a little bit and occasionally came for a walk in amongst the cherry blossom trees.

Kimiko decided to head for the bench where she would sit for a while, until she could see the stars scattered across the black blanket that was the night sky, and then make her way home to see her parents. She almost always preferred to be here in Summer, as the climate was a lot warmer and more pleasant. But being here in the winter months was magical in itself. Although all the blossom on the trees would have fallen and the trees would be bare, snow coated every inch of the creek; replacing the pink cherry blossoms with brilliant white snow crystals. She hardly ever encountered anybody down here, and if she did it was usually an elderly couple that lived next door. They too liked to stroll through the creek before heading home for the evening. Tonight, however, the couple were nowhere to be seen. Kimiko was here on her own.

She spotted the bench up ahead and strolled up towards it, taking a seat on its wooden panels and settling back into the seat. She clasped her hands together in her lap and watched the sun set; casting a golden glow across the village and through the sakura blossom. It was easy to see why she favoured this spot above every other one along the creek.

It was a very relaxing tone in the wind. It sent feeling of calmness into the ears of who were listening. Every so often, it would send a touch of comfort and relaxation. It was the wind of night. Night can been seen as such a devious thing but Midara found it relaxing. He could manipulate it to comfort his own body and conform into happiness around him. He always even at night could be found wearing his favorite uniform. This uniform has changed his life forever.

The uniform itself has been feared among the lands of Shinobi, To wear it is something of honor and pride. It wasn't official, but it was close to it. The ANBU black ops uniform is the only thing that Midara needs to wear anymore. Gurentai has changed his life, to make it stronger and to make him even more tired then how he was. He was started to get more wrinkles under his eyes as he would stay up and work and train.

He often felt like his mind and body were half asleep at night. His hands in his pockets, his eyes closed, his feet walking. He tripped over something...it felt like a human. Laying on the ground...not moving. He seemed dead, but was merely asleep. His right face laid on the ground as his body was facing downwards. His arms at his side and his legs straight. He really looked dead, this was a very weird picture. A boy dressing up as ANBU and laying down on the ground? From the fall he busted his lip and eyebrow. Blood started to form a puddle in his face. This wasn't good.

Kimiko had been day-dreaming, and didn't notice anybody walking towards her. Her chocolate eyes widened when she felt her feet being tripped over, and she sat bolt up right; snapping straight out of her thoughts. "I'm sorry!" She called first of all as an immediate reaction, springing up to her feet as a second. She started to panic when she saw the guy laid on the ground in front of the bench where she had been sat not only a minute before. "Oh god, are you alright?" She asked, kneeling down on the ground next to him and giving his shoulder a gentle shake.

He seemed to be... sleeping? How strange. How could somebody fall asleep just like that? There was a condition, now that Kimiko thought about it, involving falling asleep spontaneously. This condition was really rare though, and she couldn't quite get her head round somebody her age (there or there abouts) falling asleep in the middle of the pathway. She knelt by the guy's side, forgetting that she still had her hand clasped on his shoulder from when she tried to rouse him. So much for a normal peaceful night! Her heart was racing with panic that this person had collapsed because of her feet being too far out from underneath the bench. 'Oh god... this is all my fault! He's probably got a concussion or something! That means getting him to the hospital, and, and, and...' Kimiko's rapid thoughts trailed off there as she told herself to calm down.

The sleeping boy was then awoken by the ruckus of a girl. Laying on the floor, his mouth was wide open which led to a pile of drool and blood on the floor. "Argggg", exaggerating his pains. He could taste an irony substance in and around his mouth. The substance tasted like...blood. He jumped up and sat on his rum, not even noticing the girl.He didn't even realize it was her who woke him up. He brought his finger up to the mouth, to his lips. Then he took a quick glance at it. It was blood, then he took his finger and licked it. He liked the taste of his own blood. Whether that be weird or not.

His lips was slightly swollen as he then took his hand and brought it to his eyebrow. Where he felt a pitching sensation of pain. He felt it and it felt wet,' more blood'?. That was the only thing that was summoned upon his mind. He looked back at his finger and noticed that it definitely was blood. Then he licked hi fingers again, as he slowly stood up. Then he noticed a girl.

Bringing his hand behind his head. "Umm Hello" He said with a smile but yet he was confused. He looked back down on the ground with the pool of drool and blood then looked up at the girl. "Did you knock me out?!" He asked curiously as he almost yelled it at her. He didn't mean to almost yell but anyone would have done that. Waking up next to a pool of your own blood with a girl you have never seen before. "This is professional" He said to himself as he sighed in disbelief.

Kimiko sighed with relief when the boy on the floor started to stir. She could have sworn a second or two ago he wasn't breathing, and it was good to know that he was alive and well. She visably sweat-dropped when she noticed that the boy had been sleeping with his mouth open and saw the puddle of drool that had formed there. She blinked a few times when she also noticed the blood mingled in with the drool. He really must have landed on the ground hard and made his mouth bleed. She was starting to become more weirded out by the second as the boy licked his finger after inspecting the blood that had come from his mouth, then again licked the blood from a cut on his eyebrow.

'Wow... trust me to run into somebody like him...' She thought with a slight frown. She got up to her feet when the boy finally decided to notice her, and was about to speak when she was suddenly thought of knocking him out. A red vein popped out on the back of her head in a slightly comical manner and she glared at the boy with her suddenly harder-than-steel chocolate eyes. "No, I did not knock you out!" She shouted at him in return, annoyed that he would have come to such a conclusion. Did it really look like she could have done? Apart from the blood there was no weapon, and lord only knew that she didn't possess the strength to punch somebody's lights out. "You fell over in front of me and knocked yourself out, or fell asleep, whatever you did." She frowned even more, keeping her eyes narrowed on the boy as she quickly and tightly folded her arms turning her back slightly on him. "I was waiting for you to come round since I was worried you might have died or something..." She muttered through her frown, not looking at the boy.

The response Midara got was a bit rather harsh. He was still bleeding from his eyebrow but his lip seemed to be doing better. She looked rather annoyed and somewhat pissed off. Midara felt bad that he would even ask her that. 'Of course she can't knock me out!' He reassured himself. Then he remembered the fact that his eyes were closed as he was walking. Quiet a ridiculous move. The boy was getting to comfortable out in public. The girl then turned around and faced her back towards Midara then said something that sent the boy into a shock statement.

The boy jumped up onto his feet, only to see a sad girl. He never liked seeing anyone sad, let alone a girl. Hopefully this wasn't going to be weird, but she needed to be happy. Everyone deserves to be happy. This one even stopped for a stranger to make sure he was okay. He grabbed his necklace and unhooked it. The boy walked up behind the girl with his necklace in his hand. "Thank you" He said as he tried putting the necklace on the girl. "It'll make you stronger...I can make you stronger" Midara was the leader of a group called Gurentai.

"Do you know what Gurentai is?" He ask in a very calming voice as the wind and his voice had the same tone. He felt very comfortable, hopefully she would feel the same. Drip. I drip of his blood fell onto the floor from his eyebrow. It wasn't bad enough for stitches, but it certainly hurt a lot. "You carry the fire" This girl was someone he was looking for. Someone who would help out the village, help out people she didn't know. She would make a great impact on the Gurentai community if she would join and Midara wouldn't stop until she did. This would be weird for a lot of people, but the boy was just trying to make the girl happy. She deserves too. Who knows how long the boy was knocked out? She said there the whole time even though it wasn't her fault.

This girl was truly a hero. An Epic Hero. She was one who was important to the village. She could change the lives of many. Midara wanted in on that, he could already see it. He doesn't even know her name but he knows what she is capable of. Midara already had a lot of respect for this girl. A smile sparked from his face.

Kimiko kept her back turned to the strange boy, and had half the mind to walk off. But, she knew that his eyebrow was still bleeding, and she felt bad for him since it was a pretty nasty cut. Anything like that would hurt quite a bit, especially a cut on the face. It came to the point where she did not even know what she was waiting for, and she sighed, shifting her feet a little as if she were about to walk off. Just before she could, however, when she heard the boy thank her and noticed her was attempting to put something on her. At first Kimiko jumped, but relaxed a little bit when she noticed it was only a necklace. Her body was still tense though. Was he going to try and strangle her with the necklace for shouting at him? Did he not believe that she hadn't knocked him out? Her worries were put to rest when the necklace was simply clasped together and left to fall down against her chest. She blinked with surprise and picked it up gingerly with her fingers, inspecting the necklace while listening to the boy.

She was of course skeptical when he said he could make her stronger, that the organisation whose logo was on this necklace could make her stronger. She turned round slowly with a curious, still slightly angry expression on her face. "No... I've never heard of such an organisation..." She said in response to his question about Gurentai. Her eyes softened a little and widened in shock when he stated that she 'had the fire'. What did he mean by that?

"I don't understand... how do I carry the fire? What d'ya mean?" Her tone became a little more informal as her earlier anger started to flood away. It was obvious that the boy had half a brain and realised that Kimiko had not knocked him out, and he had believed what she had told him. She noticed him smile, but she did not yet smile back. She was too confused to do so. She did not even know the boy's name or vice versa, and yet he was stating something so matter-of-factedly as if he knew... how strange. "Kimiko... Kimiko Katsumi." She found herself introducing herself as if to put a bit of ease to her restless thoughts.

The boy was happy enough to see the girl turn around and actually acknowledge him now. She wondered what Gurentai was. Then he pointed with two fingers, one was pointed towards her heart and the other was pointed towards the necklace. "Gurentai is a group, which is ment to help the brothers and sisters of Konoha. Help the unknown. You helped me, yet you didn't know me. We stand for the same thing." The wind blew the hairs of the boy, it wasn't painful winds that would knock down a tree but it was a peaceful breeze that really set the environment into the situation. The pink blossoms swung their hips in the wind as some flew past the two standing. The only sunlight was sparkling upon the two. They had the spotlight. The two strangers owned the street.

Then he closed one of his fingers, so now he was just pointing at her heart. "The fire...The fire of kindness and happiness" He said with a smile, then he brought his finger down to his side. Then the girl was the first of the two to introduce themselves. "Uchiha Midara" He said as he took a quick small bow, in respects to meeting a new nice lady.

"I have something I want to show you...Kimiko-chan" He said as he held out his hand and hopefully she would come with him. He was able of lives of many genin. "What do you want to be when your older?" He asked really quickly. He was going to take her to the Gurentai Headquarters and show her around. Maybe she would like to join and become one of the group. He could give her almost anything the group would ever want or need. He had such a good connection with Lady Etsu-SENSEI that he was able to get a lot of things and training. He could teach the others many of the teachings that he has learned. Hopefully one day someone would call Midara a sensei, or maybe even Hokage.

Kimiko was becoming more and more curious by the minute about this organisation, about this boy, and about why he was pointing at her. She did understand after he started speaking, however. She tilted her head to the side a little. "But I didn't really help you... I just waited for you to wake up. I was worried that you were seriously injured." She insisted. Kimiko wasn't one to take credit for things she didn't do, so she wanted to make this clear before she became any more involved with this guy. Her black hair also ruffled with the wind raking across the creek, sakura blossoms floating around her and a few getting in her hair. She ignored them, and in truth didn't notice them.

"Kindness and happiness?" She repeated to get things clear. Wow... how could he tell all this just from one meeting? It baffled Kimiko beyond words, hence for once on her life not being as talkative as she usually was. Almost as if she was being controlled, she stepped forwards towards the boy who had now introduced himself as Midara. Why did she want to go with him so badly? Her curiosity was like that of a cat, it could be said. "Just call me Kimi. It's a lot shorter and everybody else does." She added before he could ask her a rather random question. What she wanted to be when she was older. She smiled widely at nothing in particular but thinking of her dream. It was a warm, fuzzy feeling inside her that instantly warmed her straight up whenever she felt down. "I want to become the Hokage." She replied, her chocolate eyes suddenly burning with ambition, determination and happiness. "Ever since I can remember I've wanted to be the leader of the village... I care about Konoha too much and want to be able to protect it myself. I need to grow strong, stronger than anybody else to be the Hokage... and I don't care how much of a high ask this is. I will fulfill my dream, because I believe that I can." She said with deep belief set in her words.

She smiled as she took Midara's hand and looked at him expectantly. "So what was it that you wanted to show me?" This time, a mischevious grin took over her face. Now this, was the real her.

"You care" The boy replied to the thing that Kimiko said about her not helping, but she really did.

"Kimi" Midara said as he repeated the name to keep it fresh in his brain. He had to remember a lot of names to a lot of faces and there was something worse than calling someone by the wrong name. Embarrassment is what that is. Everyone's dream was to become the Hokage. Which was very sad. Out of all the candidates of this generation, only one can be appointed. There will only be one Hokage for this generation of genin, unless people of course skip their own generation and join the ones above them. Simply joining older shinobi who are wiser and stronger, will make you stronger.

Midara feels like he is that one person. He is only thirteen and he is already on his way to become a chunin soon. He feels like he is one of the strongest genin and he would be tough to defeat in battle. It often made Midara said how she said she wanted to become the Hokage. The boy was already running on the path to become Hokage, while most haven't even got on it. The thing is, the boy wants to be in the protective service before the becomes The Hokage. He wants to be all he can be, before he becomes The Hokage. He even has the best teacher, Lady Etsu-Sensei. His sensei is The Hokage. He has much to come and has a bright future.

The boy forced out a smile "I hope the best of you" He said as he was holding the smile on. He felt like he should go, but he didn't want to. "I have a headquarters in South Konoha, maybe tomorrow you can come by and join?" He said as he looked around. It was already late and the boy needed to get some sleep. He lives in the Headquarters so he was heading there anyways, he could take her there but he didn't want to keep her out all night. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day for Midara, juggling with his own training, team training, Gurentai training, Gurentai itself and maybe a mission. No wonder why this boy has no time for girls and is already running to become The Hokage." We can go now, or tomorrow is good...up to you" He said as he smiled down towards the girl. "Or if your hungry?"

Today was a good day.

Kimiko found a small smile tugging up on her face at that. Of course she cared. This guy was a fellow citizen of Konoha; one that she swore to protect when she was strong enough, and up until then as much as she could.

She tilted her head a little to the side as she watched Midara for a while. He stayed quiet after stating her name, probably to remember it. Her memory was shocking too, but she could remember this guy. Simply because all she would have to think of was him falling over at her feet. That was something pretty memorable, after all. Despite what she let on, Kimiko wasn't stupid. She knew people well enough to tell when they were forcing something, and Midara's smile certainly wasn't genuine. "What's wrong?" She asked him questioningly, trying to search his face to find anything; sadness, regret... anything of the like. Unfortunately, she didn't have much time, and was pulled away from her little investigation to listen to him telling her stuff about Gurentai.

She smiled at him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "By the looks of it, you need rest. I can swing by tomorrow to the Head Quarters with no problem." She said with a nod, removing her hand after realising she had held it there for quite a while. She backed up a little and gave Midara a wave. "I'll see ya tomorrow, alright?" She said over her shoulder as she started walking back the way she came. What an odd evening... odd... but good...
