| Ansoni was wandering Getsugakure in search of something to do or somewhere to stay before the Tournament a few days later came around. He found himself in the town square, laying in a bed of flowers with his hands behind his head, looking up to the stars. He smirked as he somehow knew his father was somewhere out there; thinking of him; whether it be negatively or positively. When he thought about it, it sent shivers up his spinal cord.
He then put all of his thoughts into perspective; and wondered I wonder what he really is doing right now... Back in Konoha, worrying over me; living his life as a fugitive, or whether he's alive at all. He shook it off. The last one in particular. He didn't need any worries or distractions before the Tournament, a Tournament he could very well die in.
A small breeze came in,and drove the warm, muggy air away for a moment, which made Ansoni interpret his thoughts as positive, as if something were there, watching over him and assuring him his father is doing the best he possibly can, assuring him his father was okay. Yet, it haunted him, his thoughts of his father. He wasn't sure if he despised him for what he did to himself, Ansoni and the rest of his family, or whether he was just a child who missed his loving father so much. It may sound naive and juvenile, he realized, but he was sure his father's absence created a void in his life, which tore him apart.
Ansoni began to sob lightly to himself. It was nearly 3AM, and no one was out. There was no curfew here in Getsu like there was in Konoha. As he sobbed, he heard a faint sob not too far off from him, and then he heard a voice. Faint and quiet, but definitely audible. Ansoni stuck his head up a little bit. "Who's there?" He said in a small voice. Getting no response, he said it a little louder, "Who's THERE!?!"
A few seconds later, a small voice replied, "Ansoni.... It's your father." Ansoni was in shock. There was no one around him, and there was no way anyone would ever think to look for him, especially here. "No! You're lying! You're not my father! He's not here! He's NEVER been here!" Ansoni readied himself to stand up, when the voice came again.
"Son, it really is me. You have to believe me, just listen!" Ansoni would have none of it. His father could not be talking to him right now, there was no conceivable way. "No! You're lying! Get away from me!" He was frightened, mostly, but a tad saddened at his "father's" voice. For once, it seemed sincere, which is something he was just not used to from his father.
- Spoiler:
Aside: Not heard by Ansoni, but spoken by his father.
"Well, son, I've guess you've left me no other choice." Ansoni was running for his life, and didn't bother to turn back and see if anyone was ACTUALLY there. He knew there wasn't, anyway. Suddenly, Ansoni fell through the ground, and dropped about thirty feet, where he landed in what seemed to be some sort of cavern. It was wet, cold, dark, and damp.
Ansoni brushed himself off, and wasted no time running again. He didn't know where he was headed, or what he was going to do when he got there, he just knew he had to run. He heard the voice again, this time stern and mean. "Ansoni, get back here NOW. Or I will be forced to do something we'll both regret!" Ansoni acknowledged it, but kept running for his life. It got darker and darker with every step he took, and he DID trip occasionally, but he disregarded it all. "Fine, you've left me no choice. You've forced me to do this, remember that."
Soon enough, Ansoni was encased in a small room, with impenetrable stone walls. Soon enough, a blast cold air came into the room, and he got the goosebumps, and chills ran up his spine. About ten seconds after this phenomena, Ansoni sat on the ground, feeling dizzy and tired. Then, a figure manifested in front of him, and it looked just like his father. Ansoni's eyes bulged.
"Son, I told you it was me. You're just like me, don't you see? Stubborn, but shy and hesitant. Not a good combo, you'll end up like me soon enough." Ansoni looked away. He never believed in ghosts, and now he experienced his most skepticism. "So how'd it happen? Huh, "Dad"?"
His father picked up on the sarcasm on the last word. "Son, I was murdered by the Hokage, the new one. She ordered me to be tortured and killed. But I come to you today to let you know that the other side is nothing to fear, and that you'll always have me with you. Always."
Ansoni's eyes began to water again, then he looked to his father. He was positive it was him now. "Dad.... I had no idea.... I'm sorry for the way I treated you... For the things I said, the things I did.... My thoughts, my EVERYTHING. I'm sorry."
"Son, I know. And for your apology, I forgive you. I came to you here with this message, and this message only: I love you, and I'll always be with you; Mind, Body and Soul." And with that, he disappeared.
Ansoni sat on the cold cavern floor, sobbing. Knowing he's never see his own father ever again. But with this, he'd accomplished a great deal. He'd found his father, thought not in the way expected, and his life's biggest question had been answered. However, the void was still there. SO much for no distractions before the Tournament. |
