| Heki Sougan Setting himself into scene, he searched across the vast fields that the land had to offer ensuring that he was absolutely alone before he began his training. On a typical day he wouldn't mind if someone noticed or watched him train, but for the sake of the tournament he wanted to ensure that no one was spectating this session, for he would require techniques that no other person has seen before. Though no one has actually ever caught Kojin fighting in the past, he still had his name to hold into account, anyone who knew who the Uchiha truly were would be able to understand their traits and their unique abilities. Making it a disadvantage if someone were to immediately find out that one his elemental affinities was fire or that he possessed the Sharingan. That being said though, not everyone who carries the Uchiha name possesses the Sharingan. So perhaps he could trick anyone who jumped to that assumption by simply lying, telling them that he did not carry the gene. However one time or another he would have to bring it into battle, thus ruining his trickery. That's why he was where he was though, to train for a technique that could cover up his Sharingan when in battle. The Uchiha had thought about what he could do to hide his eyes, his mind fought about using contact lenses yet they would be a bother if he kept them in for long periods. Next came the idea of wearing blacked - out glasses, however this could prove a disadvantage on the battlefield for if someone was skilled in the shadows then he would have trouble detecting this. To conclude his thoughts, he came up with the genius idea of using something the Uchiha were also born with. Genjutsu. Yes, with the use of the illusions he would create a false image on his eyes so that it appeared as if they didn't change at all. It was quite a brilliant technique, an incredibly simple one yet it would prove most useful on the battlefield. The only drawback was the fact it would cost chakra to activate and to keep active, yet he did not care for this reason. As he sat in his meditative state on the grassy fields, his mind would begin to clear itself of the many thoughts that infested it. All he would have to do is image his eyes and the colour they were, then allow his chakra to wrap themselves around his eyes and replicate the colour. Then he would be able to access his Sharingan without any issues. Taking plan to action, he began the procedure. Retrieving a small mirror that he had managed to borrow from one of the locals, raising it so that it was at eye - level he began to examine the colour of his eyes. Though he wasn't quite sure why he did this, as they were predictable jet black, much like the rest of the clansmen eyes. Accessing his bank of chakra, the fresh blue aura quickly found it's way targeting his eyes. With an instant it had manage to climb to it's destination, it was extraordinary how fast chakra could shift itself around the body. As the light blue chakra began to envelope both eyes, it was as if he could feel the layer building around them, far too uncomfortable to actually have to endure. So to fix this problem, he quickly decreased the amount of chakra he was placing into the eyes, allowing it to gently glide across his entire eyes. With his chakra then activating itself, it was as if nothing had actually happened. Trying to zoom closer within the mirror, he found that everything was still the same. There was only one way in which he could test to see if the technique had worked, activating his Sharingan. Allowing his heritage to take command, the eyes were instantly released from their cell as his vision of the world quickly altered. However, as he blankly stared within the mirror, everything about his eyes were still the same, therefore meaning. Success. |

| Hofuku Makai Releasing the chakra that was built up within both eyes, his vision would return to a human - like view and the previous newly - made genjutsu wore off. Moving onto the next technique in which he wished to train the young genin began his thoughts as to why he was training for such a technique. It was true that his fighting style was mainly based around long ranged assaults, yet he would have to consider the fact that someday someone will approach him as a close ranged fighter. As he was not at all fond of taijutsu or weaponry, he would be at a great disadvantage in a situation such as that, thus he would have to rely on something in which he was somewhat skilled at, illusionary techniques. He may have been able to fight his way using ninjutsu, yet if he used some frightening or scary illusions then he may be able to force the opponent to a distance where he would then be able to strike with ninjutsu. But the question remained, what would scare someone enough to make them flee the scene? Many fears inhabited the world, ranging from something as natural as heights to something as strange as having a fear of dirt, the world was a very odd one but one fear seemed to dominate above the rest. Spiders. A fear which seemed to scare almost half the world was the dreaded arachnids. He would use this phobia to his advantage, by creating a genjutsu which would swarm across to his opponent, an army of spiders at his command. Anyone would run away from such a scene. With the wide variety of spiders to choose from, he would have to pick one that was known universally as a deadly or killer spider, and only one popped into his mind. The female black widow spider, an eight legged freak with a harmful and sometimes fatal neurotoxin bite. The reason that Kojin had chosen female was because they were the ones with the actual deadly bite, the males did also share the toxic bite however they are less dangerous to humans due to the small amount they pump in. Plus the size of the males was considerably smaller then the females. The way he would go about it would be to circle the opponent with this ring of spiders, make it seem as if it was actually some sort of summoning technique, then as the target was distracted by the army of arachnids, the Uchiha would deliver the final blow. It was a perfect plan, the only flaw was if someone detected the illusion. With the decision made, he would begin work on crafting his masterpiece of a genjutsu so that he could later use this in battle. Firstly he would have to ensure that the measurements were all correct and his chakra was able to mimic the shape, raising himself up from the grass, he would stand in a position which required his hands to be clasped together in order for his chakra to warm up. First came the burst of chakra that swept his entire body, almost giving off the sensation of an explosion. Next he would gather the chakra and spread it out so that there was a a circumference of blue aura that surrounded him by a metre, this proved to be quite challenging at first, but with the mind being able to conjure up the shape it was a simple task. The part that would require the most perfection would be the shape of the spiders, how they appeared, how they walked, everything about them would have to seem realistic. His imagination pictured the a black spider, adding an deep red hour glass shape upon it's back, to then finalize it's image he would add on the deadly pincers to give it a threatening appearance. After this was complete, he simply duplicated the image to about a hundred or so. With the training complete, he would simply now have to test it out. Once more he was quick to grab the borrowed mirror, giving direct eye contact to himself, he would pull the tiger hand seal in order to trigger the effects of the illusion. Lowering the mirror, he was met with a horde of spiders surrounding him completely. Without warning the hundreds of monsters darted towards Kojin's direction, forcing him to panic as he somehow managed to forget that this was all actually an illusion. His feet quickly tried to stomp on the ground where the spiders were located, but every step was simply dodged by the spiders as they simply ringed around him. To complete their task, all spiders spontaneously launched themselves at the genin. Not wanting to view the horror, his eyes were quick to shut close. Seconds past and nothing was even felt touching him, as he cautiously opened his eyes he was able to see that nothing was even surrounding him, touching him or even close to his location. It seemed the genjutsu had worked. Now that was two down and one more to go.

| Unomi Boketsu Approaching his final technique for the day, he would have trouble for the third and last technique, for in order for it to work he would either have to perform it on himself or find someone who was willing to become a test subject. As no one was around him at the time, it seemed he would have to resort on experimenting on himself. He had always hated testing illusions on himself, for at times he had managed to forget they were actually illusions and simply made a fool of himself. But with no one around, it wouldn't matter what he did during his next piece of training. This particular genjutsu would be one that would become most useful in battle, for the effects it gave would result in his opponent being unable to move, thus allowing him to hit any part of the body he desired. The only drawback would be if they escape the genjutsu or if they realized they were within one and broke out of it. Yet this seemed unlikely to happen due to how natural he would make the technique appear. The illusion consisted of Kojin having to make eye contact with his opponent, where he would then have to make the snake hand seal. The reason it was the snake was because it is commonly affiliated with Doton or Earth Style techniques, why is that so important though? Because the way the technique worked was the ground beneath the opponent would begin to alter it's appearance to quick sand, this would send the signal to the target that they are sinking and try to fight the sand, yet this will only increase the rate at which they are sinking. When they are fully under they may begin to panic and even hyperventilate if they don't control their breathing patterns, but that was none of the Uchiha's concern, for in reality the person was still stood on the top of the ground yet motionless and this would allow him to deliver a devastating blow to the opponent. It was quite a marvelous technique to be trapped within and it would also prove difficult to break free from, for if they knew of the 'Release' technique then they would be able to break free with no problem, but when the sand is there limiting your movement you'll find it impossible to move. The only way in which one would be able to break free would be to cause intentionally physical pain or to simply faint due to exhaustion. Either way, it was a difficult task to break free. Searching about for the mirror he had previously tossed on the ground, his eyes would quickly locate the item and begin to stare into it for the final time of the day. Forming the snake hand seal with both hands, he would remain stood while he now closed his eyes to picture the quicksand. Only once has he ever been in an encounter with quick sand, it wasn't even on a mission, he was actually on the beach with his family when unexpectedly he had fallen into the natural forming trap, his father was quick to pull him out and gave him quite the lecture about always being careful where you tread. He didn't pay much attention to it at the time for he was just a child, yet the memory stayed fresh within his mind. Quicksand is actually considerably hard to find, as it takes the appearance of it's surrounding area it's only way of being found is by standing on it or an object touching it. So taking the information he had learnt, he began to create the scene of the ground below him, a grassy field with a small patch of dirt showing up from time to time. Next came the actual genjutsu, which was making the opponent believe they were standing on quicksand. Sending a message within the brain, his illusion would allow them to believe that what they were standing on was beginning to sink beneath their very feet and once the feet were out of use, it was extraordinarily hard to escape the trap. Without even seeing it take place, Kojin was able to feel himself suddenly sinking down as if he was shrinking. After a mere second or two, both legs had now been swallowed by the ground and soon the rest of his body would. Trying to kill himself was not his intention however, as he quickly cancelled off the supply of chakra and magically felt himself rise back up to where he was once stood. It was quite an odd feeling, to be slowly submerging to the depths of the earth and not even being able to control it. He would truly hate such a thing to happen to himself, let alone forcing it to happen on other people. But if it meant that he would be defeating his opponents then he didn't really care how they were while in the genjutsu, he would simply carry on with his battle. As he reflected back on what he had accomplished that day, he hoped that he had learnt enough to give him a fighting chance when it came to close range fighting. Even if it was just a small bit of hope of winning it was still something to work with. Exit. |
