WISHING ON
THE SAME MOON

The ocean was a monster that Sakumo had never been too fond of, but was something he would endure during his long journey to Moon Country. It hadn't felt like too long before the Konohagakure shinobi found themselves basking at the glorious vessel that would see them cross the seas safely, boarding it with hordes of tourists eager to set sail so they could soon be knee deep in the warm golden sands of the Moon's shores. Sakumo was partial went it came to undergoing such a journey, unlike some of those who registered; he was requested to attend the Getsugakure's annual fighting tournament by none other than the Hokage herself. Sakumo was confident in his abilities but he doubted whether they were up to the standards the village had set for him since the war, none the less he was eager to visit Tsuki no Kuni, since he hadn't set foot on its shore before. On the other hand, he longed for the touch of Megumi who remained back at Konohagakure no Sato during the prestigious event, since she had no interest participating. Putting his mind at ease, the latter tightened the hand rail as he walked up the entrance ramp of the boat, eventually reaching the deck of the seemingly luxurious ship.

Departing once everybody had boarded it wasn't long before the boats festiveness came to an end and everybody began retiring to their quarters to see it that they would not be fatigued by the days to come. Sakumo had more pressing concerns, sleep wasn't a priority, writing was all that clouded his mind, as he began writing of the boat and those who were sheltered on the ship at this current time, mainly his Konoha comrades who would soon be considered his opponents when they were to arrive at the city that hosted the great tournament. His pen scribbled for a few hours without stopping as he would write down every detail he could think of, because of this it didn't feel like long before he could see the land in the distance, Sakumo closed his book making his way to the front of the ship where he would lean eagerly upon the rails, getting the best view on the boat on approach, just short of the wheel house itself.

As time passed, more people approached the tourists deck of the boat, which of course was the main deck where Sakumo had spent the whole trip on. Most were getting ready to end their voyage across the sea, but the numbers were minimal compared to the amount of shinobi and tourists that had boarded the ship, which could only lead to the assumption that the most of them were still enjoying their beauty sleeps. As soon as they dropped anchor at the docks, the horn went off, which was most likely to notify though who were sleeping that they had arrived, but Sakumo and those already awake wouldn't wait for their peers, it seemed the groups were already breaking a part. The Aburame with a small portion of Konoha ninja and various tourists making their way off the boat and through the docks. The shinobi soon parting ways with the tourists that accompanied them on their journey, since the ninja took a turn to the beaches shores instead of the streets, since one of the shinobi that Sakumo was with new his way around the city, he took them on a short cut, which at the same time was the scenic route.

The overwhelmingly beautiful sunrise along with the surprisingly calming sound of the waves crashing towards the shores tempted the ninja of the Leaf village to delay their trip just a little while longer and soak themselves with enjoyment in the waters of the Moon's shores. But being the shinobi they were, she would show resolve and continue on, knowing they were many paces ahead of their sleepy comrades. They soon made it to the temple, upon entering each of them separated from one another, scattering across the large lobby to absorb all its cultural artwork and designs. Sakumo however would find time for this after he was properly registered, which is exactly what he did first, walking up to the front desk with a firm step, he placed his hands onto on the high counter looking down to the female who sat behind it. "Hello, Sakumo Aburame of Konohagakure. I'm here to register for the tournament." Sakumo spoke with no sign of disrespect as he got straight to the point. "Ahh, Sakumo! Thank you for participating, here is your room key. Good luck and good day." the chirpy woman spoke, extending her hand with the very key she just spoke of. "Thank you." Sakumo responded using the very manors his parents taught him to use from a young age as he took the key from the woman's delicate hands and adjourned to his hotel room, where he would begin to prepare for eventful days he had ahead of him.
