Matsunaka stepped off the pier, his hood still covering his face as he stood up and got out of the boat. He turned back around and bowed toward the old man. Matsunaka walked up the pier wooden steps and step into the village. he turned around looking in awe at the beautiful colors and festive sounds of moon country. " People really love their tournaments." Matsunaka walked through the village looking at the different things on his way to the tournament temple. He continued walking his black hood covering his eyes. "These colors remind me so much of my mother." Matsunaka turned his head toward a post and saw the tournament roster. "Guess I was late, Oh well I need a vacation anyway." matsunaka walked into the nearest bar and sat down in the nearest chair obviously out of place with his all black garb and his headband with a black cloth. Matsunaka waved over a waitress. " I need a water." When the waitress went to get his order he looked around taking in the view of the place. When the waitress returned matsunaka thanked her and sipped his water. He looked at the empty chair in front of him and snickered.

Walking down the busy festive street, admiring the booming fireworks and the roar of people talking, cheering, and celebrating, Yamato couldn't help but release a small one ended smile, though it lasted only a short second. With his black cloak, and his regular black ninja clothes underneath, he was a phantom in this crowd, rudely bumping into people's shoulders as they turned around angrily spilling their drinks, and then shrugging when they realized it was an 11 year old kid, assuming Yamato was looking for his mother or something. He had taken off his Konoha headband, deep in his pocket. He realized it made him too much of a target, with the many Konoha genin prowling around the festivals either enjoying the tournament or picking a fight, Yamato didn't have time for such foolery. His mind was solely set on the tournament, specifically gathering intel on the participants for there would be a high chance that such partakers would also like to enroll themselves in the Chuunin Exams, which was Yamato's sole focus. Spotting a bar at the end of the street he was on that appeared to be vacant, he quickly walked over there and sit down in the nearest chair, as the bar appeared to be full, but full of men who were close friends rather than celebrating the tournament. As he sat down his cloak parted in the middle, revealing his black clothes underneath, but nothing more. Brushing some dirt off his knee's, he felt the akward presence of somone right infront of him. Well actually, he saw the other pair of feet under the table, and what do you know! It didn't surprise him that they were ninja sandals. Yamato sighed.

Slowly looking up, he was about to put on an annoyed expression and tell the kid he did not want to spar when he realized that Yamato was not wearing a konoha headband, therefore the other boy could not conclude that he was a ninja. On the contrary, the other boy had a konoha headband, and in a split second he changed motives, deciding to go for the intel gathering aproach, firstly by faking his new personality. "Oh you're a ninja!? Are you participating in the tournament?" Yamato said excitedly, which could fool any person for he was 11 years of age. He put on a stupid grin he saw young naive kids these days put on when excited, all the while hating his stupid act but at the same time going along with it 100% due to his goal. If the person was participating in the tournament, he would gather information on his abilities, if not, well he would still gather anyways. Perhaps he would make an ally as well. As the waiter came back with a water, Yamato eagerly asked for a glass as well, as ordering milk would be a little over the top with his new act. It was now a game of if he could hide his old identity and prevail with new one, and gain this boy's trust. Yamato treated all genin the same, as nothing more than books to be read and the knowledge learned to be used againt them. It was this cold, calm, emotionless, and calculating personality trait that indeed defined Yamato, but would also help him survive.

Matsunaka stared at the guy in front of him with violet iris filled with spite. "A little kid how my luck. Look kid no i'm not a ninja, please don't mess with me i'm on vacation and so i'm not in the tournament." Matsuanaka looked into the kid's eyes and saw the annoyed expression disappear with an excited expression. Matsunaka leaned back his black clothed headband over his shirt. ("Smart kid and obviously using his child like charms to get something.") Matsunaka sipped his water. " So kid may I ask why you come to stop me. I mean there is some other person in this village that would be willing to speak to you and deal with a little kid." Matsunaka sipped his water waiting for the kids reaction to his words.

"A little kid how my luck. Look kid no i'm not a ninja, please don't mess with me i'm on vacation and so i'm not in the tournament. So kid may I ask why you come to stop me. I mean there is some other person in this village that would be willing to speak to you and deal with a little kid." said the boy infront of him. How naive and foolish it is for one to assume, he expected more from the genin inront of him, despite the boy's lack of information. In this world, there were people younger than Yamato yet stronger then the both of them combine, who's to say Yamato wasn't one of those people? A young prodigy? He was a mere 11 years of age, and a full fledged genin, how old was this kid, 14? 16? He put the boy infront of him to shame. But Yamato kept his cool, despite such a cocky ninja. "Well, gee wiz mister! I'm sure there can't be any other ninja that looks as strong as you around here! I just want to see some Ninjutsu! I'm probaby way worse then you, I already failed the test to be a genin twice. Yeah, I'm an academy student but I'm lousy. But seeing some ninjutsu, that could be my inspiration! That way, I can wear the Getsugakure ninja headband proudly on my forehead, just like you do!" he said in a boyish, child-like voice, that would've fooled anybody and made old men cry. He had to stay strong with his act, there was absolutley no reason for the boy infront of him to trust an 11 year old, it was simply absurd.

He had to admit even for him, the act was a powerful display of emotions, as Yamato had abandoned them long ago. He found using emotions just like ninja tools seemed to cut deeper than a kunai blade. Emotions are the strongest tool out there. It was in that instant of playing the role of a young envious pre-ninja boy, that Yamato realized that he should have never abandoned emotions! But simply master them! Use and weild them just like a shuriken! This realization however, brought conflicts within him, how could he ever feel joy again? After his parents died? After being at his brother's funeral? It was a touch choice, but Yamato was prepareing to be the Hokage's right hand man in the future, the strongest tool the kage had in his arsenal, not the equivalent of the simple chuunin pawns resembling kunai and shuriken, but a jutsu, just like a jounin, serving under the hokage's arsenal. Today, he had learned of a powerful weapon to train. Indeed, emotions appeared to be a key to something big. How unusual he would learn of this so suddenly, but he did not let that falter his current goal, to observe the boy infront of him's abilities. "So how's about it mister? he asked politley, now more than ever enjoying this 'act,' because he figured now, he was very good at acting.

Matsunaka felt great anger rise up in front of him,"Kid run along or do something else, your starting to annoy me and by the way your getting no sympathy form me." Matsunaka ran through his old memories, The days of being a child feeling no happiness or having no care about being a ninja because he feared death. Failing classes because he couldn't do ninjutsu, not caring about him excelling or not. "Look so what do you want from me seriously, I haven't had a nice day and things don't look be looking up." Matsunaka chuckled on the inside remembering his days of the slums. Matsunaka waved the waiter over asking for another water. Matsunaka leaned back,"So kid go run off and play with your friends, because in the world of ninja your going to need them."

Perhaps he hadn't mastered his emotions enough, for his words were simply being reflected off the boy like a mirror. He sat back in his chair and let his hair fall infront of his face, smirking as his eyes were hidden from view. He suspected that the boy didn't exactly see through his facade, but instead simply refused to comply to his request. Standing up pushing the chair back, as the legs made a squealing sound being dragged across the floor, he turned heel and with one motion, pulled the hood over his head, cloak whipping around as he walked back out of the entrance. He felt a new Yamato inside, growing, different from his regular personality. He had been touched by emotions tonight, it was only a matter of time before he decided wether to be ruled by them or control them as he originally planned. Perhaps one day he could possibly 'feel' as he always once dreamed. Perhaps his encounter with the boy wasn't wasted after all. After silently thanking him, he turned the corner of his street and dissapeared.
