| .Match One. Sakumo Aburame vs Marina Yuki It was the second day of the tournament and like the first, the weather was simply excellent. A stunning sun that perched itself high above the sky and released pleasant light through the clouds that drifted leisurely with the summer wind. The sheer energy of the people chanting outside the stadium gave birth to the sound of trumpets that echoed across the entire stadium, signaling the great doors to open and release of flood of viewers into the stands. People from various countries, villages, and of course Moon Country flowed from the entrance in a near endless quantity, all sharing the same desire to witness the spectacular event that was about to take place. Within minutes the stadium was fully occupied with cheering spectators and with another segment of a trumpet resonance the entrance doors closed in a final slam. Members of the tournament's faculty began materializing inside the arena grounds, the proctor himself wearing a black suited attire and a full medical unit wearing their white coated uniform. On the highest tier of the stadium a great bang was heard, and instantly silence was summoned inside the stadium. Lord Yoshiyuki, Moon Countries divine authority and political leader had made entrance into the stadium. His long flowing blue and golden robe and pure diamond accessories stood testament to his high status within the nation he held within his entire hands. His skin was glowing with the steady excitement brewing within his flesh, and his long red hair flowing like the fiery satin that it could easily replicate. Beside him were two robust and stern bodyguards that not only emitted an energy of authority but also had a posture of humbleness and care for their leader. Upon him seeing the faces of his beloved citizens and visitors, Lord Yoshiyuki was glad that he adopted the festivities of the Summer Festival within his own home and welcomed the ninja of Konohgakure and even other nations to participate in his tournament that would rattle the ninja world and will strengthen the alliance between Konoha and Moon Country.
He looked down at the giant arena located within the heart of the stadium and viewed it's contents in pure vanity of his landscaping talent. It was fifty meters in diameter with ten meter stone walls around it's perimeter. The terrain was mostly composed of low cut grass although there were other instruments placed to enhance the setting. Eight large 15ft pillars were located in a octagonal formation around the arena's edges in the grass terrain, each holding a large bowl of burning wood at it's top providing a source of fire. Around the perimeter of the arena was a ring of fresh water that divided the grassy landmass and the walls by a few meters except for the small area where the contestants walk though. Being at a near endless depth, it can provide the competitors with a source of water if they're near the edges of the ring. Overall the stadium was neat, simple, and decorative and would surely be enough to supply the fighters with the tools necessary to display their talents.
Lord Yoshiyuki made his way toward the edge of his balcony, letting his natural luminescence filter through the stadium. His bodyguards mimicked his actions like a pair of drones, standing a few feet at each side of him. By pumping chakra into this throat it allowed him to project his voice loud enough to be heard throughout the entire stadium with clarity. "The first match of the second round begins now!" He announced which exhilarated the crowd. While the crowd stridently applauded to his words he waited for them to calm down before continuing. "This match's competitors will be Marina of the Yuki Clan and Sakumo of the Aburame Clan!" The crowd applauded at in a light frequency which will last until both competitors meet within the field. Lord Yoshiyuki sat down on his giant golden chair and peered at the field with crossed legs. The medical unit disbanded into the stands and the proctor flickered himself in the center of the field where the two competitors will meet. The bell rang and the doors opened on each side of the field. Marina entered from the south, and Sakumo from the north, and they approached each other until they were five meters apart in the center. With a quick "Begin!" from the proctor, he instantly flickered out of the arena, and the match had begun.

-This exam is on a three day post requirement, if you fail to post in three days after your opponent you are automatically disqualified. -You are the only two who are permitted to post here. -This exam does not have a competition date, as I said, it's a three day post requirement so we expect it done quickly, if it continues due to continuous dodging, I'll proctor it like I'm supposed to and come to a conclusion. -If you exit the ground floor you will be disqualified, by no means should you harm the audience, you can however use the wall as a weapon or a surface to run on. -Be elaborate with your jutsu, explain it. Don't confuse your opponent, all jutsu are required to be attached at the bottom of a thread via a quote or a spoiler, it is not to be messy. -All standard roleplaying rules apply. -This is the first time you have heard of your opponent, unless you have met them in character before. -If you are in a death situation and you obviously don't wish to be killed, you can RP a medic coming to your rescue although that will automatically get you disqualified. |

| It was happening all over again. Exactly the same, even. There were only subtle differences that made this moment any different than the one that happened only a little while ago. Those differences were only things such as names or placements. She sat in the same corridor, moments before a conflict in which hundreds of spectators would watch. Just like before, she waited in darkness alone, faintly hearing what went on outside. To the sound of trumpets doors of the stadium would open and the seats would fill with the people ready to see the battle, and with another trumpet call, the doors would close. She couldn't help but wonder about the people who came here to watch. What were they expecting? What were they hoping for? Why were they here? Really, what was going on, this tournament, was an extremely pointless thing. Fighting for no reason other glory or maybe some kind of reward. That wasn't something to risk your life for, and it disgusted her. Not as much as she disgusted herself though. With all this she was saying and thinking about the tournament, here she was moments away from participating in it, for the second time even. She had to focus all her attention on not ripping herself to shreds just thinking about where she was, which probably wasn't a very good thing to do moments before. Instead, she started thinking about the people again, channeled her disgust towards them.
This tournament was in no way clean. It was very possible for anyone who participated to die, especially if the combatants wanted to be ruthless. They had to have been aware of this, and just listening to them cheering out there right now...she didn't know what to think. They were here because they wanted to see violence, and were excited for it even. She wondered how deep that desire of violence went, as in, whether or not they actually wanted to see somebody die. They knew there was little point in this tournament, and yet they wanted to watch the violence anyway. The idea that so many people would be so interested in excited in an event in which people put their lives at risk to fight each other for no real reason was horrid. Her passive form was beginning to fill with rage, slowly but surely, just thinking about all the people out there. They revolted her, and it took all she had not to bust through the doors before her and freeze them all where they sat. But she couldn't do that, she had to calm herself. She could let out her distaste towards this even after the fight, when she left. For now, she had to calm herself. If she stayed like this, whoever she was about to fight would be the victim of her intense wrath, and she did not want to fight with lethal intent, otherwise she would be no better than they.
She sat on the ground behind the gate, and let out a big breath she only just now realized she was even holding. Her tense body relaxed as she focused her mind on other things. Luckily for her, the crowd was quieted as someone she didn't care about spoke to all of them with his booming voice, muffled behind the gates. It allowed her to focus more, and she began to meditate. She cleared her mind of all the things that annoyed her right now, all the things about everything around her that upset her to no end. She had done it in the last match after all, and had fought without lethal intent, and both she and her opponent walked away without being harmed too much. She didn't even try to make herself see the good in this tournament, but rather cleared her mind completely. Even though, on the outside, she never looked anything other than blank in her expression, actions, eyes and speech, her mind was always a confliction of thoughts that never really left her alone. It was only when she was fighting that she was able to keep her mind clear and straightforward, focusing on the task before her, which was the opponent. Taking them out, crushing them, defeating them. Maybe that was why she was here in this tournament. Ever since Rysa, her mind had constantly been one big mess, thinking about one thing after another. Maybe she wanted to be in this tournament because she wanted to fight, because she wanted to get some peace from her mind for even a short while.
She sighed as she slowly picked herself up. She had already learned from the last match when exactly the doors would open, so she picked herself up just before they did. At the sound of a bell, a sliver of light pierced the darkness she had so contently been dwelling in, slowly getting bigger and bigger until there was no darkness to hide in, only the light of judgement. Her eyes opened last, doing so slowly after the gates had been opened completely. Directly across the arena was another combatant, an Aburame as had been announced. She paid little mind to this other than knowing that that meant she should expect bugs, and lots of them. She hadn't learned much about the clans of Konoha, but she did know the basics of how they worked, so to speak. She slowly began moving towards the center, just like last time, and she already felt the heat pound down on her. Her skin was chalky white, which reflected the light of the sun in a way, but not much of it was seen. This was a very...special occasion, which meant she had to represent. Instead of wearing her usual black garb which consisted of black pants and a black shirt, she wore the typical attire of her clan. She wore the standard. A brown striped sweater took up the upper half of her body, covered by a blue-green kimono with white striped edges. Around her waist was the green-brown obi, and around her legs were brown striped and slightly loose pants which went down to her legs. She disliked this outfit very much, but you couldn't say she didn't look good in it.
She had customized it just a little bit though. Around each leg was a strap containing a small pack of 25 senbon and 2 exploding notes, giving her 50 senbon and 4 exploding notes. These senbon had a hidden surprise as well. All 25 senbon in each pack were sitting in a small pool of poison, meaning each one was tipped with poison. One pack contained one type of poison, for she had 2. On her back was a small ninjato which could easily be reached by extending her hand over her shoulder, and drawing it quickly. She was completely rested and ready to go, and decked out in everything she would need. Her dark purple eyes stared straight forward as she neared the center of the ring, looking straight at her opponent, the Aburame, without flinching or blinking. She completely ignored the sound of the crowd, blocking it completely, so to her, everything was silent as the proctor stood between them, ready to start the match. There were 5 meters between them, 15 feet. She figured the best way to start this fight was the same way she did last time, by testing the enemy out. As soon as the proctor yelled begin, she was in action. She whipped out three senbon, two with the Debilitation poison, one with the Instant poison. Not a second after the word "Begin!" was shouted, she launched these senbon at her opponent. The two with Debilitation went on either side of the enemy, while the Instant poison senbon went straight towards his chest. She would remain in the same position and stay ever vigilant of what happened next.
Poison Used
- Spoiler:
Poison Name: Instant Poison Rank: C Poison Description: The poison works as the name would suggest. After coming into contact with the bloodstream, the poison travels through it until reaching the brain, where it stimulates the chemicals within it to insight a perception of pain, pulsating a wave of such pain throughout the entire body for a brief moment before ceasing. The pain hits the enemy only once, and then the liquid poison itself becomes harmless. Liquid State: The poison is liquid, and therefor is usually coated on a weapon by a regular user, while Marina Yuki tends to hollow out an ice senbon and fill the empty space with the liquid, allowing injection of the poison when the ice senbon punctures an enemy. Poison Effect(s): Post 0 / The poison enters the bloodstream and begins to make its way towards the brain to create its intended effect. Post 0-3 / The poison reaches the brain via bloodstream and stimulates the chemicals within it to create a body wide perception of pain. The pain is not enough to kill a person, unless they were an inch from death anyway, and causes minor overall damage to the internal body. The victim themselves will feel a sharp pain throughout their body as though they had been pierced through in the stomach, only covering every inch of the body. The pain is technically mental, so little real damage is done. Instead, depending on the victim's willpower, the pain experienced over the time period of about three seconds will usually leave them stunned and open for a follow up attack. The amount of time it takes for the poison to reach the brain depends on the entry point. Head = 0 / Upper body = 1 / Lower Body = 2 / Hand/Foot = 3 Post 1-4 / The poison in the victim's body becomes harmless after the initial pain wave, and no further effects or complications arise.
Poison Name: Debilitation Rank: C Poison Description: This poison targets the chakra system within the body, specifically the chakra points. The poison will spread throughout the body and simultaneously begin to cause the chakra points to inflame. By doing so, the victim must push their chakra harder in order to get the same results as usual. In other words, the more inflamed they become, the more chakra points they must use to produce a single jutsu. The poison is C rank, meaning it is not very concentrated. Because of this, one dose of the poison itself is not enough to clog all of the chakra points much, and especially not entirely. Therefor, multiple dosages administered in close succession is required for the points to become more and more inflamed, until eventually they are clogged completely and jutsu are impossible. Not only that, but inflammation does not last very long, and if left alone, the chakra points will start to heal after some time. Therefor, in order for the effects of the poison to not only worsen, but also to continue, multiple dosages must be administered regularly. This means 10 dosages must be administered with no less than 2 posts between each one for inflammation to reach 100%, where it will become impossible to use chakra and therefor jutsu. Liquid State: This poison was created in a liquid state, and therefor must be injected one way or another. It travels through the blood stream and into target areas because of this. Poison Effect(s): Post 0 / On the post of injection, nothing happens, as the poison is spreading thin throughout the entire body so that it may affect every chakra point at the same time. Post 1 / By this time the poison will have spread through the entire body, and every chakra point will be attacked at the same time. One dose of the poison will cause each chakra point to become 10% inflamed. This will cause the victim to use 10% more chakra for a single jutsu, or the chakra cost of any jutsu used during this post will have its base cost increased by 10%. (For example: A jutsu with a 100 Chakra Cost will cost 10 more CP to perform) Post 2/ The poison itself will have stopped affecting the chakra points in the body, and therefor the inflammation will begin to heal. On this post, the inflammation percentage will remain the same, but the poison will be gone. In order for the inflammation to increase, another dose must be administered by the end of this post at least. Post 3 / If no more poison had been administered by the end of the previous post, the percentage of inflammation of the chakra points will go down by 10%. This process will continue post by post until inflammation reaches 0% once again, assuming no more dosages are administered. If a dose is administered on this post, then inflammation will instantly increase by 10%, but only once, meaning the inflammation percentage present on the previous post will be restored. In essence, this will cause the inflammation to have stayed the same rather than increased. Any dosages administered after the first one on this post will not take affect until the following post, where percentage will increase by another 10% per dose.
Additional Information/Clarification: The percentage of inflammation directly reflects the percentage of base chakra cost increase for a single jutsu use. This means 50% inflammation of the chakra points will cause any jutsu to cost 50% more chakra, and so on. One dose alone will cause an increase of 10% inflammation a post after its injection. Another dose will have to be administered by the end of the second post at the most for inflammation to increase by another 10%. If no dosages were administered by the end of the second post, then inflammation will start to heal and reduce by 10% per post. If a dose is administered sometime during this healing process, then the decrease will stop a post later, and go up by 10% more. This means if the inflammation had been healing from 100% and a dose was administered when it was back down to 50%, by the time the poison attacked the chakra points, it will have dropped down to 40%, and the poison will boost it back up to 50% where it will stay for, at the most, a post longer by itself.

| I've spoken to Sean about this and his aware of my schedule at the moment and understands why I'm forfeiting which is a shame because this is like a dream fight for me, though I wasn't properly prepared either I still don't have the time to make the posts necessary here and thus am allowing Sean to progress to the next round untainted for the sake of in character, lets say the fight developed for a while until you got me with one of your ice jutsu and I was forced to withdraw before things got ugly. |
