Denied, for a number of reasons.

First - ten to twelve metres is not a long distance. In fact, that's literally and actually ten to twelve steps away from someone, which means that as far as tracking is concerned, you might as well use your eyes.

Secondly, there is no viable way for you to keep the clay working continuously nor is there a connection between your character and his clay, so even if you planted it on someone, you wouldn't be able to track it.

And although I don't need a third reason, the poor quality of this jutsu is more than enough to tell me that you rushed this technique, and you know what I told you about rushing. So yeah, this is denied.
