| Mission Title: Welcome to Rain Country. Mission Type: Custom. Mission Location: Ame no Kuni - The Rain Country. Shinobi Requirement: C-Rank Nukenin. Mission Rank: C. Mission Objective: Inoshi has recently received a letter from the Otakage by a sound hawk during his travels. Within it was a criminal mission that's located within Rain Country. His duty is to infilitrate the village and locate a man named Tomota, who resides in the outer perimeter of the village inside a hideout located within a hill. Sound Village has reason to believe that he possesses confidential information that they can find useful within a stolen scroll. In addition to killing this man and sending his scroll to Sound Country via a hawk, clean out his hideout and make it your own. Mission Time Limit: 2 weeks. Min Post Count: 4.
It simply wasn't dark enough, not nearly as dark as Inoshi would have liked it to be. The dusk images that dawn had to offer couldn't stand a match to the mysterious beauty that surrounded the dark of night. To the artistic minds that valued the true beauty within darkness, how could it? An irritable sun nesting right over an horizon, bestowing glossy light over a forest valley and radiating it with warmth and life. Nauseating it was, especially with the fuzzy little animals that nosed out of their homes to watch Inoshi, as he walked informally through the wretched forest. Although unintentional, the sound of his footsteps were perfectly consistent with the last without a single step out of place; just like his style of course. Judging from his facial expression, he appeared quite calm and settled as he passed through quite trees of Ame no Kuni's tropical rainforest. But what he lacked with expression, he made up with talented analytical skill. He could hear many forms of wildlife all around, scurrying under the bushes, climbing up the trees and flying over his head. He could smell the scent of exotic flowers from the distance, and feel the grass tickling his toes over his sandals. His eyes, oh what powerful instruments they were, could perceive every motion they were an audience to. If he activated his Doujutsu however, the Sharingan, it could be capable of seeing even the flies move in the distance with crystal clarity, literally. All of these stimuli which he felt by his senses verified his hate for nature, it was too complex and repetitive. Although he didn't have a clear aspect of what life should be like, he did know that it shouldn't and couldn't be like this.
Minutes later he started to recollect the recent mission he as assigned to by his godfather, the Otakage. It had been approximatley two days since he was approached by a sound hawk while bathing in a hot spring within the mountains. He remembered reading the letter and feeling a bit surprised and quirked that the Otakage would contact him only weeks after his departure from Sound Village, he must miss his godson. Basically, his duty was to report to Rain Country, kill a man named Tomoto, find the secret scroll and station their for the time being. Killing the man wasn't Inoshi's concern however, he was use to that. His concern was, why take refuge in such a urban community such as Amegakure? That would typically imply that something big is happening and once again, Inoshi is being sucked right into the middle of it. No matter, a duty was a duty, and Inoshi had absolute faith in his criminal superiors.
Eventually, after hours of slow walking and contemplating on a method of breaching the village undetected, he started to see Amegakure and the many tall buildings that it was composed of. Over the trees he could see several ten story buildings, all with electrical wires and bridges connecting them in a fascinating visual circuit. By that time it was getting dark, the sun was gone, and all that filled the sky were grim silver thunder clouds. Rain was coming, that was certain given Amegakure's credentials. He knew for surety that he would have to kill in order to infiltrate the village quietly. Although Amergakure was known to accept criminals within their society, it would be after they perform days worth of interrogating and tests to make sure they can integrate safely with society. Unfortunately, Inoshi had no patience for such games, he was going to get what he want, how he wanted to get it. At that point, he was yards away from the village's gates and hid quietly behind a tree. He activated his Sharingan for a more perceptive viewpoint. Within his sight, he could see the large stone boarder that surrounded the village in it's entirety, the immense gate which was slightly open, and two guards stationed on each of it's sides. A traditional guarding formation which wasn't too difficult to work around, as long as you had a distraction. Looking to his back, Inoshi could see a carriage making it's way towards the village in the distance. It was being led by two mighty horses that trotted towards the village, making their way through the open spaces of the trees. Inoshi smiled a slick smirk and withdrew a kunai from his kit, this was going to be easier than he thought.
Using quick ninja movement, he flickered in the direction of the carriage and stopped right in front of the horses. The large brown beasts halted in surprise shirked before settled down. "What the hell is going on out there?!" An elderly voice shouted from within the carriage. This carriage was rather old school in design, it was more hut-shaped with a entrance door located on its back, unlike on the sides like the more up-to-date ones. Inoshi could hear the feeble footsteps of the man making his way towards the back area, as a means of coming outside to see what's going on. Murmurs from other people became present as well from within the confinement, the more the merrier Inoshi thought. Inoshi channeled raiton chakra to his blade, electrifying it in dazzling delight. In an instant, before the horses even had time to react, he flickered to the back of the carriage and ran his blade through the door, right into the unsuspected man's body. "OH MY GOD!" Shouted the voices from within. Inoshi withdrew his blade from the wooden door, and after hearing a large thump, had opened it very slowly to generate suspense within the air.
The carriage was quite big given it's rather small appearance from the outside. Inoshi looked around for a few moments before turning his attention to the corpse that laid lifelessly at his feet. He analysed the man's face with his glowing crimson Sharingan, admiring the beautiful red fluid the dripped out of the man's mouth. He then looked at the other two individuals that sat in the front of the carriage that were manning the horses. Luckily they dozed off when Inoshi stopped the horses, but now that he'd killed their comrade, they were now surely awake. They were fine young men who appeared to be in their early twenties, they were probably escorts or some sort. Inoshi's plan was to sneak within the village while hiding within the carriage, and hopefully these two idiots could do so without much exposing Inoshi. Stepping over the dead man, Inoshi made his way towards the two who crenged at every step he took. Once close, he held his blade in front of them, lightning dancing around it's surface.
"If you want to live, stop crying and listen." He whispered. Moments later the two discontinued their sobs and paid attention, their eyes focused on Inoshi's Sharingan as if hymontized. "You're going to ride this piece of crap carriage through that village as if nothing happened, understand?" He asked while looking at them both. They both nodded their heads in both understanding and fear. Inoshi stepped back as a signal to proceed, and they did so without fail. In midst of the ride, the duo turnned their heads to look behind them at Inoshi, only to receive the phantasmal image of a young boy with glowing red eyes, needless to say they didn't look back after that. After ten minutes of riding, they finally reached the front of the gates. Tension was boiling within the room, but even still, Inoshi was very quite and calm. One of the guards approached the rear side of the carriage to identify the drivers. The boy and the guard began to converse, which went something like this.
"Your identification please." He requested in a stern voice. The boy withdrew a parchment from his pocket and gave it to the guard with shaking hands. The guard noticed this reaction and immediately took alert. "Is something wrong?" He asked curiously, looking at the other boy.
"Nope... we, uh, tired, sleep, day, long," He said brokenly. Inoshi didn't know whether to laugh or tense up in fear of getting caught, maybe a little bit of both. But he did begin to clutch his blade even tighter than before, things can go really bad in an instant.
"Yeah me too bud, you're clear, step right in." He said while stepping back and flagging the gates open. Inoshi exhaled a powerful breath and sat against the wall as the carriage started to move. The first step was complete, he managed to infiltrate the village alive with only one causality. He would have to figure out what to do with the body when he got off of course, but for the time being he decided chuck shuriken into it to pass time.

| Tamato's eyes darted around reacting to the eerie sound of the outside world naturally, his hands automatically rising up to his chest, clenched into fists. But the noise was harmless, seconds passing until the man decided to let his guard down. With a quick glance to check that everything was intact and that the one thing he treasured the most, a little chest which held information of high value, was safe and well, a sigh escaped his previously yawning mouth. His hideout was a small, but tidy area, a cave of sorts, hidden by bushes and foliage. Although rumours had it that at one point this place had been used by smugglers who would access the City of Rain through various secret tunnels, they had proved to be wrong and the hideout proved to be nothing but a very convenient little space. With a simple bed, that had taken hours to drag in to here, with a help from a few thugs he liked to call friends, although this world was far too twisted to allow trust to get in the way of things, the cave looked extremely simple. These 'allies' of sorts also helped him with the remainder of the furniture, not that there was a lot of it. With a simple desk, mirror, cupboard and stool, the hideout's only interesting feature were both the letters laying opened on the wooden surface, as well as the chest standing in a dark corner, out of sight. It had been Tamato's task as well as a hobby unlike any other, to raid and intercept letters and scrolls of value. With luck, him and the band of thugs that he often ran with, would find out about merchant deals and travel routes, that they then would proceed to ambush... however the majority of the information was simple gibberish, that he found no use in.
Walking around in a circle, Tamato's tired eyes took a peek at the dirty mirror, his features obscured by patches of dust. Still, the image had always been the same - the picture perfect, growing-old figure of a man who had lived a hard life. With a hard, serious look upon his face, a short black hair that was balding, black, empty eyes that shared no tale and a fairly stout body, Tamato looked his role. With a bunch of scars that could be explained over a couple of pints of the good stuff, the man forced a rigid, and unnatural smile. If the mirror could, it would have smashed into tiny pieces here and then, as the thug regretted his choice straight away, murmuring about 'never becoming a model'. He was right to say so, his clothes ragged and torn at places, being a mishmash of whatever he could have got his hands on.
Aware of what was coming, the man continued his pacing, glancing at the opened letter then at the chest, then back at the mirror every now and again. He had word from one of his associates, that a shinobi was coming to kill him, though the notion was so outrageous and yet perfectly possible. Having placed on brass knuckles and with a baseball bat laying nearby, Tamato was anxious and yet at the same time, he felt calm... this was just the usual for him - just another operation, gone wrong, where violence was needed to slow things down. With a sigh, he sat down and waited. |
