Well, I would like to give a shout out to Britt, she did one so I decided to follow in her example. They say, plagiarism is the greatest compliment one can give for someone's work. And then there's the legal system. I won't really be doing any based on me, but more based off my views, but I'll do a few here and there on me to balance it out. This is entirely based on opinion not fact. You may disagree, and that's cool. I love seeing both sides of the coin and educating myself, and I hope nobody sees any of the blog posts as personal attacks. Anyways, enjoy.

Morals; Why we need them, and why we don't.

The world is an amazing place, filled with billions of people, each individual capable of thinking, developing thoughts, and providing insight. The problem is, there is too many of us, too many ideas, and too critical when it comes to religion and the definitions of a "good" person. To put some of my personal view into the equation, I don't believe in the concept of "good and evil", because nothing is just black and white. People tend to claim such things, but there are far too many variables for our human minds to even comprehend outcomes. What one thing may seem right at the time could result in having a major backlash in the future, or maybe a person does now is considered a bad thing but somehow manage to bring a "good" in the future. Morals, to me, are too biased. What one person considers good, another person might consider it as wrong, or worst; sin. Opinions make up morals, and then those morals are transformed into rules then those rules evolve into laws. There is no right and wrong, just people falsely claiming it as so. Let's put this into a extreme view, let's say you have to kill someone. If you have to kill someone, if you have to, is it somehow better to do it clean with a bullet through the head? Is it somehow worse to chop em up with an axe? What if you have to kill ten, or a hundred, or a thousand? What if it in doing it you save a thousand, or you spare ten? What if you save yourself? What is the measure of a man, let alone his morals, or his murder? By what insane calculus can we answer questions like these, should we even try? Honestly, no. And I won't try. I don't nor can't hold myself to do so. I am not God, I am not a intergalactic alien with advance knowledge, or even a supreme being. I'm just me trying to comprehend this world and it's strange ways. Wish me luck on that one, by the way.

To me, morals have caused us to stall not only as individuals but as a race as a whole. Scientists everyday have been trying to find a cure to many things; AIDs, many forms of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and countless other diseases and afflictions, but we can't. Why? Because morals and it's very foundations are halting the progression to a healthier and longer life. Religious fanatics claim we're playing "God", but are we really playing God if we're just trying to stop people from hurting? Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. We're not asking for immortality, just a second chance. We only have one life to live, to maintain, and we all know we make mistakes within our own lives that ends up harming us. In the case of AIDs, however, we're just potentially hurting the entire human race with an outrageous epidemic. Morals are halting us from progressing forward, morals has stalled our evolution. I'm not saying to get rid of morals, turn us into savages, I'm simply asking people to stop looking at their own selfish views and look at the bigger picture. What's going to save us; a belief or a cure? I'd rather choose the cure. At least then, I know it'll work for it's intended purpose.

Now, I am certainly not asking for us to become savages, husks with no purpose and doing whatever we please, because if we did that, we'd still destroy ourselves. Frankly, humans have immense trouble regulating others, let alone ourselves. We need a system to help us govern ourselves and make the choices that are best for us. While morals are not good for longevity, they do help in a short time span and for personal development and self enrichment, but on a country scale, it simply is ineffective. When we put millions of lives on the chop and block, we need to look out for us as a whole, not for what we think is right. For example, why do we make weapons? why not car radios or cheap telephones? What's the difference? Same job really...you get up, you get on the phone, you meet your clients, you discuss a fair price, you make a delivery, and receive payment. Sounds boring...but it's not...it's just...simple. People have been doing this what people have been doing for thousands of years. Trading one thing for another. Maybe it's the people who wants to attach morality to it...make it evil? Insane... People are working gun factories in Belgium or the States...they're unionized, right? You think kids making radios in Bangladesh pull down fourty grand a year on a fourty hour week? You start thinking too much about morality...THAT's insane...

Anyway, that's my rant for the day. If you've gotten this far without the thought of strangling me, I applaud you. Also, be sure to suggest topics for me to discuss about, I think it'll be interesting.
