[Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 Vide
PostSubject: Re: [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 EmptyFri 02 Dec 2011, 6:35 am

With Kana's improvised "mud wave no jutsu" having focused the handful of survors attention on himself for a few precious seconds, it had been the proverbial child's play for Toshiro to come up behind the last three bandits still in the camp then bring down the kunai in his right hand in a reverse grip that buried the entire length of the blade in the rear-most (and shortest) bandits skull with a dull crumple of bone and instant death. At that crack the remaining two bandits tried to quickly spin about only to lose their footing in the muddy ground and slam onto their faces before halfway righting themselves. Just in time to see Toshiro towering over them with his ninjato halfway out of it’s scabbard and the weak light that filtered through the mist casting shadows over the genin’s face that gave it a nearly demonic quality that froze the two in fear. With his prey helpless, Toshiro had almost moved to finish them off when he remembered Kana’s admonishment that a few survivors telling spreading horror stories about the clans wrath would be more effective than simply wiping out the entire group. Deciding that yet again his partner’s insight into things was better than his own, Toshiro glared down at the two. Both were young, maybe 16 at the oldest and certainly not experienced at the bandits life from how badly (if the spreading spot on both their pants and the foul smell was what he thought it was) they had been shaken at what had happened.

"If you run now and never cause trouble for the Hinamori again you can live. Otherwise you join the rest. Decide now." With that the white-haired genin finished drawing his ninjato until the blade was fully unsheathed and parallel to the ground before taking a single step forward with every bit of body language screaming I-am-a-deadly-serious-stone-cold-killer. Apparently his guess about these last survivors having had their will to fight shattered was correct, because no sooner had Toshiro taken that step then the two half-scrambled and half-crawled to their feet and dashed into the woods headless of the branches and briars that tore at them in their mad flight to somewhere where the two demons disguised as shinobi were not.

With the need to spread word of the slaughter to provide deterrence done, Toshiro finally turned his attention to hunting for the leaders or the shipment and the stolen items by heading towards the central rise in the camp using what remained of the tents and lean-tos as cover. He made it just to the bottom of the rise too when the ground in front of him fell away and with a yell of “Konoha Kage Byou” a foot connected with his gut and sent him into the air where some instinct had him use the Kawarimi to replace himself with a barrel just before said barrel was cut in half by a blade of water. With enough time to get his bearings before his opponent returned to the ground, the white-haired genin was able to both avoid by side-stepping the shuriken the ambusher had thrown on the way down after his failed attempt to bisect Toshiro while they were in the air as well as get a good look at this latest enemy. The nuke-nin (as it could be nothing else from the slashed Iwakagure symbol on the forehead protector) had at least a good foot in height over Toshiro and was bulky with the kind of muscles that screamed power over speed. In his right hand was what could only be a “Sword of Draining” from the way the blade practically shimmered in the faint light even as it dispersed. All in all the sort of opponent Toshiro wasn’t particularly worried about. Strong, and tough more than likely, he may be but likely wasn’t all that fast and obviously not terribly bright if he yelled the name of a bloody taijutsu attack. Deciding to see if he could get this enemy riled up some with the likely result of anything resembling a coherent plan going out the window, Toshiro chose to say his next words in a tone that would be used by someone talking down to a “slow” child along with the sort of superior sneer that wouldn‘t be out of place on the face of a Hyuuga clan heir. “So you didn’t run away. You used the fodder to draw us out for an ambush. I would almost be impressed with the planning - if it hadn‘t been a stupid waste by a stupid person.”

Judging by his enemies reaction, it was apparent that Toshiro had struck a very sore nerve. The hulking nuke-nin hadn’t wasted time in verbally responding and had simply rushed towards the brat taunting him like the other kids in the academy had, intent on pounding that superior sneer off the genin’s face. Something that didn’t happen as Toshiro just ducked under the blow (sometimes being short had it’s advantages), added to his opponents forward momentum with a basic kick to the behind, then tossed the kunai from his left at the exposed lower back. To the nuke-nin’s credit he had kept upright, and remained in control well enough to turn around after sliding more than fifteen or so after the first blow, but Toshiro had to subtract points for arrogance. Simply because trying to catch a kunai is not a good idea when the now-empty hand of the thrower that is behind the back isn’t searching for another weapon but rather is running through the one-handed seals for one of the Hinamori’s signature jutsu. Apparently the nuke-nin thought so too because no sooner had the single kunai turned into six than he performed an ungainly dodge by dropping down and to the side. It almost worked too - almost because three of the watery copies hadn’t been completely dodged. One had cut a fair sized gash through the left thigh and another had sliced a painful-looking cut along his back. The best news was the one that had sliced along the nuke-nin’s head. Normally nothing major as seemed to be only a minor wound, like every head wound it bleed profusely and its placement over the eye meant that the blood was obscuring his opponents vision and wreaking havoc with his depth perception. Time to see if he could get lucky twice in a row with similiar tricks. “That is for the kick. Now we’re even. So care to just give up? I’ll make it quick - otherwise this is going to get very painful and very embarrassing for you.”

PostSubject: Re: [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 EmptySun 04 Dec 2011, 9:09 am

Toshiro ducked under a round-house kick that had it connected would have smashed him into a stack of barrels that had somehow survived the fight upright and retaliated with a slash that had his opponent not twisted away from would have severed tendons instead of just slicing fabric. For what seemed like hours (but was actual maybe a minute or two) he and the hulking nuke-nin had been engaged in a tit-for-tat exchange that had resulted in neither being able to land a decisive blow. And it starting to really annoy the Konoha genin that some two-bit punk from Iwa was able to stalemate him in close combat. Especially when his opponent seemed able to just ignore the injuries he had inflicted while the few blows that had gotten through Toshiro's defenses were still hurting. He needed to end this now then check on Kana incase the other reported nuke-nin was still around. Before he could do that, this punk needed to be put down but he needed an opening to do so.

That came when the fight carried the two shinobi around the camp until the nuke-nin's back was to the stack of barrels that had miraculously remained upright the entire time. Realizing that if he could get behind his opponent he could strike a decisive blow, Toshiro decided to gamble everything on one move. When the nuke-nin went for a straight kick after blocking Toshiro’s sword strike with a kunai (a bloody kunai of all things!), this time Toshiro caught the bottom of the foot with his left hand and the hilt of his sword and added to the distance the blow sent him by jumping backwards at the same time. No sooner had Toshiro hit the ground and stopped his backwards slide with one hand in the puddle he had stopped in, then the hand that wasn’t along the ground let go of his sword long to run through a short series of one-handed seals before whispering “Suiton: Hari no Supure”. The hail of twenty foot-long needles that shot from the puddle his hand was in had the the nuke-nin dodging which gave Toshiro time to grab an unfolded windmill shuriken from a corpse, stack it on top of his own then snap both out and hurl them at his opponent in the Kage Shuriken no jutsu. Out of place from dodging the water needles, the nuke-nin just managed to drop down to avoid the first one that slammed into one of the barrels behind him and had to roll along the ground to avoid the second one - which put him right next to a barrel that suddenly went poof and before the nuke-nin had a chance to dodge Toshiro had buried his ninjato in his opponent’s chest up almost to the hilt as the “Toshiro” that had been standing after throwing the windmill shuriken also went up in smoke to reveal the barrel that had been behind the bandit. "Got to love Kawarimi.“ was the only thing the snowy genin said in way of explanation; neither of the other attacks had been intended to work, only to drive his opponent close enough to the barrels that Toshiro could simply substitute himself for one of them and deliver a fatal strike.

Something that a cry of "Konoha Kage Boyou!" said Toshiro hadn’t quite delivered as the ground he was standing on fell away and he was yet again sent into the air from a kick to his gut that also knocked the breath out of him and caused his hand to reflexively let go of his ninjato that was pinning the “nuke-nin“ who turned into a puddle of water. Apparently Toshiro wasn’t the only one who had decided to end the fight: Kuno Mori had used the few seconds the genin had spent focused on putting his plan into action to make a water clone, use the Double Suicide Decapitation technique to avoid the incoming attacks by going underground, then had waited for Toshiro to play his hand before striking. And the Konoha genin had played right his hands - getting sent airborne for the second time since the start of their fight. This time though Mori had prevented an escape by substitution with a Rising Earth Spears that destroyed the large objects in the area and would skewer anyone replacing themselves with smaller objects scattered among the spikes.

With that sudden slowing that seems to come from moments of intense combat, Toshiro's head turned just enough that he caught sight of the brute he thought was down for the count behind him, yet another water sword in hand poised to bisect the genin at the apex of the flight and this time there wasn't anything handy for Toshiro to replace himself. Yet something inside Toshiro refused to just give up; maybe it was too much pride to stand dying to a minor nuke-nin, maybe it was a primal desire to live, or it could have been the often-talked about fact that when all rational thought is stripped away people fall back to the ingrained responses gained from training. Without conscious thought his left hand grabbed the hilt of the tanto that was still in it’s scabbard next to the one for it’s bigger brother and had the foot-long blade free in a reverse grip just as the nuke-nin started his downward strike. Ignoring the burning agony in his gut and the bodies demands for more air, somehow Toshiro managed to bend so that the strike just clipped some hair off. At the same time his hand and arm made a downward swing that combined with the inertia of his dodging not only flipped him upside down but buried two-thirds of the blade into his opponents gut. Concentration shattered by having most of his intestines along with the liver and abdominal aorta sliced through by the strike, the nuke-nin’s doton & suiton jutsu dispersed and his hands reflexively grabbed at the hand of the genin who had just carried out the death sentence on his head. Thus when gravity reasserted it’s authority over the two, Toshiro was unable to do more than silently curse and try to not break his neck as the sudden dead weight made a safe landing highly unlikely. Something that proved true when the two slammed into the ground with the newly-made corpse landing face down - the force of the impact slammed Toshiro’s hand particularly hard but the rough landing (only slightly cushioned by mud) made his whole body ache. It was only after what could have been 10 seconds, 10 minutes or 10 hours that Toshiro managed to recover enough of his wits to make a single water clone using the hand that wasn‘t trapped. That done the clone followed it’s unsaid order and lifted the corpse (hopefully) of the nuke-nin up enough Toshiro was able to pull the hand trapped under it free. Something that sent a jolt of pain up his arm - between that, the numbness, and the already obvious swelling Toshiro was pretty sure at least a few bones were broken. While he could use still make seals and use a weapon one-handed, he knew he was in a bad spot if a serious opponent actually attacked him.

That made him grateful that at his clone had pointed out the evidence that this time his opponent wouldn’t be getting back up: a good inch or more of the tanto’s blade was poking out of the corpses’ back and an expanding pool of blood forming under it. Having the clone roll the corpse over while Toshiro awkwardly wrapped his hand in a rough bandage only further confirmed that this nuke-nin wouldn’t be going anywhere; in addition to breaking Toshiro’s hand the impact had broken the tanto and driven the lower portion up into the chest cavity through the diaphragm. If his opponent hadn’t died of shock or blood lose from the initial cut he had certainly be killed when the jagged remnants of the blade had made a mess of his lungs.

Sparing a last forlorn glance at the remains of the little brother to his ninjato that the clone was in the process of pulling out of the corpse while doing a thorough search of the body; Toshiro gave the corpse a weak kick before limping over to where his sword was still driven into the ground and pulled it free with his uninjured hand. There was still one more nuke-nin to deal with and a shipment to find. After that he would be able to put this miserable mission where he could actively forget it had ever existed. Finding out that the whole mess that had gotten the entire clan stirred up was caused by a handful of rank amateurs that had gotten lucky and lazy villagers who didn’t follow the rules the clan had established to prevent this from happening was just... troublesome. Yes, that word his Nara friend was so fond of just fit. Not truly bad enough to warrant a full-out curse or panic, but just that sort of irritation that made you want to grab the persons responsible and make them clean it up instead. Expect you couldn’t because doing so would be even worse so you did it anyway and wished the whole mess would just go away.

Out of the corner of his eye, Kana could see that Toshiro had dispatched the remaining lackies and sent them scurring towards the trees. The bronzed Genin hoped the y would not run into their traps and meet their end just as they had gotten a second chance. With his partner now engaged with a leader or high ranking bandit that seemed to know the nindo, it was the young man’s turn to find his own target and he hoped he could keep his own as well as Toshiro was. Holding the exploding kunai in his hand, Kana slowly stepped out into the camp which now ressembled a war zone with some bodies littered here and there and tents spralled over as exploding kunai had blown through their sheets.

Kana had no sooner stepped out into the main camp when a witlign sound alerted him of an incoming projectile giving Kana just enough time to lean his head inches to the right and even that got him a lethal kiss that left a gash on his left cheek from the front of the cheek to his ear. He heard the kunai or dagger splash to a stop a few feet behind him but his eyes were focused in searching for the assailant. NO sight could be found as if the kunai itself had been thrown by some spectral foe. A second whistle made Kana skip back but this time not enough and another kunai would bite into his left thigh but only bury its teeth about an inch which meant that the hidden opponent was either throwing light and running away or the distance was enough to affect the flight.

Knowing that this would perhaps be a long distance battle, Kana was glad for the rain and the muddy ground as this would give him a better idea of the location of the assailant. No sooner had his ears drowned out the nearby battle, which he guessed was Toshiro, and the moans of those still alive and wounded, that a sudden burst of splashes caught his attention behind him. Kana turned just in time to see a rapidly approaching wall of muddy spikes towards him. Thinking quick on his feet he did a sideways sommer sault and lauched his exploding tag kunai towards the oncoming wall of death. The resulting explosion however was so close that the bronzed Genin paid the price by having mud and water rain on him and his hearing get temporarily replaced by a loud ringing. The blast also sent him skidding on his back about two meters.

He was still trying to get his bearings when from the ground a pair of hands threatened to suck him into the myery grave. Luck seemed to have showered him considerably with favor because thanks to the mud he was slippery enough to tug himself free. He struggled to get himself out of the knee deep mud he had gotten pulled into, when from the hole itself an umbrella sprang forward like the proverbial bat out of hell. Just like a bat which proceeded from the nether regions, its intent and mere reason for being was malicious and as such with a diabolical spin it released a payload of hundreds of senbon intent on killing Kana.
The young man could not be quick enough to run through his string of hand signs that mean his salvation. “DAITOPA!!” burst of wind expelled from Kana towards the incoming projectiles. The great gust was enough to not only change the trajectory of those already in flight but to knock the spinning umbrella from the skies. The senbon littered the ground here and there like discarded waste and Kana was breathing a bit heavier from having to think and move fast to respond to the ghostly attacker that had managed to stay hidden during these fast paced and vicious attacks. His hearing had started to return and it was in good time too because a sudden voice and small clapping sound could be heard as his vision cleared.

“Congratulations, you are the first person to have stayed alive after a senbon shower, not to mention my other attacks. It seem you have had extensive training in the evasion department. Seeing that you are a wind user there is no use in me trying any more projectiles as you will deffinetely just blow them away. It seems that for the first time in a long time I am going to have to do this the hard way. But after you and your friend have thrashed my camp, it is only just retribution that I return the favor.”
Kana stood up slowly during his exchange and bowed to the attacker. “I am Kinoshi, Kana, Genin of Konoha. I accept your challenge.” Knowing that this was an experienced and quite astute shinobi, the bronzed Genin needed to think fast on a way to bring down the man as fast as possible, a drawn out fight would only make maters worse. Taking a deep breath Kana’s only salvation would be the element of surprise in the fact that the other man did not know of Kana’s abilities and the young man had already seen his. A plan started to formulate in the young man’s mind and after quick approval, he resolved to follow it.

PostSubject: Re: [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 EmptyMon 05 Dec 2011, 5:55 pm

There was little time for anything else as the other man suddenly ran through a series of signs and from his mouth a great big fireball was formed. It raced towards the young man at attonishing speed and there was little else Kana could do but dive to the side and allow the mud to help him slide out of the way. Knowing he was dealing with fire now, literally, he did not think his wind would be of much help. So using the wall of an obliterated building he took out three more kunai and his string of wire. Using two of the kunai, he launched them towards his opponent which merely smirked and ran through a series of signs and touching the ground, a mud wall rose up to catch the kunai. Kana released the seals and two explosion were felt. The wall did its job in keeping the other from harm but it also blocked the man’s vision long enough for Kana to tie the string to the eye of the third kunai.

The young man had thought the other would stay behind the protection of the wall but to his surprise, a small band of three fire balls headed his direction from the right of the crubling wall. Kana was already in motion towards the wall and could not avoid them. Using the mud already accumulated on his boots, Kana performed a roundhouse and the mud flew forward to extinguish the flames of the two coming towards his frame. Unfortunately, the mud did nothing to stop the kunai hidden inside the flames and they found their marks in the upper left shoulder and the midrift of Kana.

Pain surged through his body as he ran but he more it even if the movement cut his midrift even more. The sheer determination surprised the older man who for a split second did not know what to do. A split second was all Kana needed as he finished his string of seals and felt his jutsu forming. From the mouth of the boy ejected an oily solution wich streamed towards the eyes of the bandit and caught the man head on. Surprise and a bit of pain came from the man’s mouth and he cursed the young man as he tried in vain to get the oily solution from his eyes. “You bastard! You dare spit at me?! You will dye slowly you little brat!” From his hand s came two kunai which helped to protect him as he ran away from Kana still wipping his eyes.

Taking this opportunity, Kana slipped behind another tent and tended to his wounds as best and fast as he could. Knowing that completed healing would take much too long, ripped a few strips and bandaged his thigh and his midrift enough that he would not bleed to death atleast not in the next hour. There was not much else Kana could do but lick his wounds and remain alert not knowing what else the older shinobi had in store. He hoped that Toshiro was faring much better than he was.

Kana knew that a quick surprise attack would be more beneficial to him that his current waiting game. Though the oil he had spit into the eyes of the bandit leader would take long to wear off, the bronzed Genin was not willing to gamble on the length of time he had. Not with two wounds slowly but surely draining the life out of him. He decided to launch a rather reckless plan that should prove useful. He took inventory of his remaining kunai and made sure the wire was still tied to the eye of one of them. Then taking a deep breath and throwing caution to the wind, he ducked out of his cover and threw one of the kunai in his hand recklessly not really caring where it landed. As the kunai flew he ran through a series of hand signs and the same oily liquid came from his mouth in a stream that flew about 6 meters. Before either the kunai or the oily stream touched ground, Kana would release the seal of the explosive. A loud bang and then a fire trail was a testament to the path of the oil. He did this two more times in the same random manner. With the oil still burning even as it fell on the wet mud, Kana called out to his adversary.

“It is hard to believe that a full grown man and hardened bandit could succumb to a boy who has not even seen death yet. Perhaps the reason Konoha sent me was because they thought the bandits were of little concern and I must say they were right. Insects are harder to exterminate than the rabble you called a horde were. What a pity that the experience I get from this mission is only on how to scrapped the excrement from my boots.” As he spoke his eyes and ears had been alert to any sound but even then he failed to hear the kunai that would eventually dig into his back in the right upper shoulder blade region. The Kunai was more than three inches into his shoulder which could mean a collapsed lung if the bone had not stopped it completely. This made little difference to the bronzed Genin as the impact had almost knocked the wind out of him. He fell to his knees and he turned to watch the older bandit walk out of cover still rubbing his eyes from the oil.

“It will be a cold day in hell before brats like you are able to best me. It seems I underestimated you dogs. Even dogs fight well when cornered. Only a fool would have wasted chakra in such random and useless manner as you giving away your position. Even with my eyes blurry from that disgusting Jutsu you used, I could have picked you out in the dark. Now, I will show you what really playing with fire is. Performing well versed hand signs the bandit reeled back as the chakra swelled fueled by his anger. A gigantic fireball was expelled from the mouth of the bandit leader and it rushed towards the wounded kneeling Kana in a flash. There was nothing the other could do even as a series of hand signs could be seen before the fire engulfed him. A small spark had ignited the oil still in the bandits face and a small flash had been produced enough to sighed the eyebrows off. The fire was put out in a second as the bandit leader batted at it hurriedly.

He opened his eyes just in time to see a kunai with a wire attached land with a splash just in front of him. Confusion lined his scorched face as the leader looked around. About five meters from to his left Kana was kneeling the kunai sticking from his back as he bends forward a little and grimaced in pain. The bandit’s eyes would shift to the boy’s left were a charred tent post laid in the mud, the replacement to the boy. An expression of both horror and anger started to form in his face but never had the chance to fully come out as Kana released his jutsu. Electricity shot from the bronzed Genin’s hands down the wire into the pool of water where the bandit stood. The voltage was not enough to kill but more than enough to paralyze. After a second or two of electrical punishment, the bandit finally fell forward smoking from the overload. He landed with his stomach on top of the kunai but it did not ran him through.

With what little breath he had Kana asked of the bandit. “You need not die if you agree to come with us and face your punishment.” A chuckle could be heard as the older shinobi propped himself on his forearms and spoke with disdain. “I will never bow down to the likes of you, not that you will ever see another day boy!” He made a move to uncover his prepared senbon but never got the chance to unleash the projectiles as Kana released the explosive seal attached to the Kunai. The soft stomach lining provided little protection against the explosive forces released. In a puff of muddy water, the once proud and skilled shinobi bandit was no more. Blood started to pool as the life in his eyes started to dim. Kana had finished off his target but he was not going to be of much help to Toshiro if they were attacked again. He leaned forward but refused to fall into the mud and so, in a kneeling position and being propped up by his left hand, he awaited for his partner and hoped the white haired Genin was better off than he.

PostSubject: Re: [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 EmptyThu 08 Dec 2011, 5:25 am

Kana didn't have long to wait for his partner to show up. Between the firestorm and the eye-searing flash of lightning jutsu, Toshiro had no doubt as to where Kana had been and what was going on. In spite of that, the fastest pace his abused body could make meant he only managed to catch Kana blowing the bandit into chunks when they refused to accept defeat. That had shown another side of Kana that Toshiro hadn't expected to find. The majority of the medics, even the majority of genin, Toshiro knew would freeze up when faced with the choice Kana had. Instead of that typical reaction, Kana had blown the bandit into pieces at the first sign of resistance - pretty good proof that when given the right reason his partner was more than just another medic with a hitai-ate.

With that thought Toshiro limped over to Kana and put his good arm under one shoulder while his clone do the same on the other side then both straightened up until they were supporting the medic between the two of them. "You people really need to stop getting so damn tall or wait until I hit a growth spurt." That said the two of them managed to half-drag and half-carry the taller genin to a fallen log where Toshiro had the clone set Kana down before he sat down himself and glared at the clone before growling out his instructions. "Look for the shipment and police the bodies - you know what to look for." With the clone tasked to do the work that the two battered shinobi were in no shape, Toshiro was able to focus on his partner's condition and more importantly the rather obvious kunai sticking out of his back. "This is why I wear body armor. You're the medic - any thing I should do first?"

[Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 Vide
PostSubject: Re: [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival [Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 EmptyFri 09 Dec 2011, 5:16 pm

The approaching steps of Toshiro could be herd in the muddy floor. Not that his partner was hiding his approach. The stillness of the camp was testament to them having eradicated or chased out any bandits still laying claim to their base. Kana rotated his head slightly to see the white haired Genin and a clone of his approach. It seemed his partner was not in a state to do anybody much good if a band that might have been patrolling showed up. It was unlikely that anybody able to hear and see the mayhem going on in the woods would not have already been here. Toshiro and his clone helped Kana up and drag, carried him to a nearby log. The jolts and movement wracked his body with pain and all Kana could do was grit his teeth against it. A half smile formed in the lips of the battered medic and he replied in a soft voice as talking hurt. “It is no fault of mine that height has eluded you, Toshiro-san. Then again if skill was measured in height perhaps it is nature’s way of saving our necks by keeping us from having to look up to you.”

Kana heard his partner give directions to the clone as he was deposited near the log. He rested his lower back against it for stability but was sure not to come in contact with the kunai that had a temporary home in his upper back. Toshiro showed his concern by offering to help, after he had offered a smart aleck remark of course. “Armor would indeed be most helpful except for the fact that it would impair my mobility which is perhaps the best defense I have. If you ever find an armor that is light but effective let me know. As to how to deal with the present injury it is quite simple, pull out the kunai and dress the wound. I can still breathe and talk so there is not collapsed lung. I believe I may have some shattered bones from the impact but nothing that would prevent me from moving. We just need to wrap a bandage tight to prevent any bone from being dislodged by the movement in a worst case scenario. Once I get some chakra back I will attempt to close any wounds you and I might have. For the time being diminished blood lose is the main priority. Also, let me look at that arm of yours. We don’t want any gangrene to start settling in. and we need to splint it too. “

Kana looked around the camp, it was hard to imagine that he had played a hand in so much death and destruction but there was no way around it. He was a shinobi, to many the physical representation of death. He knew that in his chosen profession he would see much death especially as a medic. There would be times when he could not save everybody and thought he accepted it he was not satisfied with it. He would do all in his power to save a life and if that meant others that threatened that life needed to die, that was that price that had to be paid. His eyes fell on the bloody body of the ex leader of the shinobi and it made him sigh deeply. “Life is indeed so fragile and treated with so little respect.”

[Mission] Aiding the Hinamori: Retrival - Page 2 Vide

Using the rest of the roll of bandage that he had wrapped his broken hand with, Toshiro had followed his partners instructions and wrapped Kana up as best he could with one hand after pulling out the kunai. No doubt it was crud compared to what a medic would be able to do, but with barely a fully functioning person between the two genin it would have to do until Kana recovered enough to see to his own injuries. That done, Toshiro sank down until his back was against the log and stuck his left hand in it‘s crude bandage out for Kana to examine and do whatever was needed.

It was half-way though that process (with Toshiro grinding his teeth and growling curses at the nuke-nin whose carcass had caused this) that the water clone had returned. In one hand it was dragging a crate that had the Hinamori crest burned into it the side, and the other opened to show a palm-sized crest and a gold watch. "Finally, we‘re done. The shipment, the crest, and the watch accounted for, the trouble-makers identified, and we even removed them. If that doesn‘t count a success worth a hefty bonus I‘ll eat my forehead protector raw.” Letting his head rest against the log while Kana finished up with his hand, Toshiro let out a sigh of relief - from here the rest of the mission would be the mundane things like seeing the shipment on it’s way to Konoha, putting together the report, and going home. The only heavy work left would be lugging the crate back. That thought earned said crate a measuring glare as Toshiro tried to figure how much trouble carrying it back would entail.

“Eh, stuff the rules about over-using jutsu. We’re both sore, tired, and neither of us is in any condition o carry this box back to town” With that Toshiro pushed the envelope on his chakra, exhaustion slowing down the one-handed seals from their usual blur until they were barely adequate for an academy student. But adequate was enough to bring one last water clone into being. “You two grab the crate and follow us when we leave. Until then go collect the nuke-nins heads; after that much trouble I’ll be damned if I let some two-bit scavenger collect any bounty on them.”

There was little else Kana could do but grit his teeth against the pain as the motion, though small and measured from his partner, would seem to shake the living pain out of his body. Complaining was not an option seeing that Toshiro was aiding him with a broken hand. After what seemed like ages, Toshiro finished with his crude but functional wrap. At least there would be no fear of the bones shifting around and actually puncturing something. He half groaned his thanks to the other Genin and proceeded to return he favor by examining and hopefully fixing the other’s obviously broken hand. His first task was to inspect it to see the severity of the lesion. Using his fingers on the left hand, as any movement on the right was bound to send shock waves of pain through Kana’s body, he probed first the shoulder and neck. Finding no discomfort there, he moved down methodically making sure neither bone nor tendon was damaged. Just past the elbow did Toshiro start to show any discomfort and the obvious tenderness in the fore arm pointed towards a fracture. Thankfully, it had been closed fractures other wise the pair would have to worry about gangrene. Following this slow process, it soon became apparent by the swelling and purplish color that was starting to form, where the break had been. After a quick inspection it became apparent that the break had happened about an inch above the wrist which as far as Toshiro was concerned, it was a very lucky break. There should be no limiting results to his shinobi career other than the occasional pop every now and then.

Despite the pain, Kana would use a bandage and some broken pieces of wood around them to make a crude splint. It was nothing fancy but it should keep the arm from flopping here and there and he used a piece of cloth to make a temporary sling for Toshiro’s arm to rest. The white haired Genin was actually braver than most in dealing with the pain, which Kana very well knew would be extreme without medication. “I believe this will have to do for now Toshiro-san. Once, and when, we get to the village; I will make sure to make a better one. I would hate to be the object for hate from your lovely sisters for not being able to bring you back in one piece.” A small smile appeared on the face of the bronzed Genin and he bowed. The Hinamori barked a few more orders to his clone and Kana was glad to see that the items which they had come for were still intact and well.

It would take them the better part of two hours to actually walk, hop, shimmy, down the road which a few hours earlier they had covered in a just fifteen minutes. The poor clone took the brunt of the load as he made a makeshift sled and dragged the cargo through the deep mud. Kana and Toshiro supported each other through every painful and muddy step. Indeed, they almost looked like two crusaders coming back from a decade of war. The village was only too happy to accommodate them, either because they saw them as heroes or because they wanted to appease the wrath of the Hinamori by aiding a clan member. Whatever the case, for the next week, Kana and Toshiro would rest and get tended to. The village head actually managed all the paperwork and reports and promptly sent them to the Hinamori with detailed explanation and statuses. Perhaps getting the living crap beat out of you aids in your managerial skills.

Kana might be dense in matters of the heart, but even he could not neglect the looks and more than common visitation of a certain village teen. Infatuation was a weapon most unstable and Kana had to employ all of his wit and while to not stay permanently in the village or leave it with wife in tow. No doubt Toshiro was more than happy to point his partner’s misfortune, or great fortune as the young woman was actually a sight to be hold. Full figured even for her age of 17 with hips meant to birth children and breast that would indeed hypnotize a person. Her full lips and lovely face only added to her allure. It was actually the age that had broken the deal. His height and his demeanor had other people thinking that he was much older than he was. So the two Genin left, patched as best they could, though the two would still have to spend some check ups at the hospital and Toshiro would have his arm in a cast for about four more weeks. There had been many lessons learned in both death and life in the aiding of the Hinamori.
