| Giving this a try. The jutsu section is for any Hinamori clan NPCs I need to create in the future (or for future clan members that want to learn taijutsu... hint hint) as Toshiro can’t learn them until he hits chuunin with the possible exception of the E-ranked ones. If approved I’m curious if it would be possible to add the style and jutsu to the clan application.
Name: Kage Tsume (Shadow Talon) Specialty: "Fighting dirty" Emphasis: Fighting at extreme close range, use of concealed weapons, and use/ detection of "unfair tactics" to win quickly. Requirements: Technically none but practitioners outside the Hinamori clan are extremely rare and usually have been at least partially taught by a clan member. Description: Direct, brutal, vicious, and completely without limits best describe the "Shadow Talon" style. Placing it's emphasis on decisively beating the opponent as quickly as possible, the style elevates the use of what are commonly dismissed as "dirty tricks", "low blows", and "dishonorable tactics" (and avoiding being caught by such tactics) into an art to win quickly while completely disregarding "honor". Beyond it's "anything goes" approach, Kage Tsume focuses on extremely close-range combat where only minimal distance separates the combatants and the use of concealed weapons. This makes particularly difficult for styles that depend on strikes that need distance to build up power to fight as well preventing opponents from bringing their full strength or speed into play to combat. In addition it severely hampers most opponents ability to use techniques requiring hand seals due to the difficulty of forming conventional hand seals while someone is attempting to smash a knee or elbow into ones face or groin. While it includes the basic array of kicks and strikes such as the round house and knife hand, a higher emphasis is placed on the use of the forearms, elbows and knees as well as throws. Typically a practitioner will attempt to strike an incapacitating blow followed up by a throw that puts their opponent on the ground or in a helpless position then deliver a lethal blow such as grabbing the head with both hands and smashing it nose-first into a descending knee (this driving the nasal bones into the brain). The greatest weakness to the style is aerial combat - while not completely helpless the lack of leverage severely limits the users options for grappling against an opponent while they are in the air. The style is also somewhat limited when it comes to dealing with faster opponents who attack from a distance as it lacks the more extreme evasive maneuvers best suited to counter such attacks.
Natural Jutsu - Quote :
- Name: Shadow Mind
Rank: E-A Type: Taijutsu Clan: Hinamori Description: The "heart" of the style, this is the part that sticks in the minds of non-practitioners. It includes not only learning different types of dirty tricks to use but also how to conceal ones intent and how to counter them if one is the target of such tactics. Once per thread at E rank plus an additional time at C and A ranks (maximum of 3 times) the practitioner can attempt a "dirty trick" such as throwing dirt into their opponents face. If successful the opponent will be unable to take offensive action for their next post due to shock. Most will also be very, very angry at the implied insult such tactics convey.
Name: Shadow Claw Rank: E-A Clan: Hinamori Description: The "soul" of the style, this is the part that is rarely noted by "outsiders" but that practitioners consider vital. Through training and practice, the practitioner learns to carry, conceal, and use weapons suck as kunai, shuriken (not thrown), and sebon so that what appears to be an unarmed attack is able to cut and stab without tipping off the opponent that they are facing an armed enemy. Novices (E-rank) can disguise such attacks from those who are not taijutsu or weapons specialists, lack enhanced sight, or do not have the Perception Special Characteristic. Experts (C-rank) are able to conceal attacks from anyone who isn't a taijutsu or weapons specialist with the Perception SC or an active Byakugan or Sharigan. Masters (A-rank) can conceal the weapon strikes from anyone that is not a taijutsu or weapons specialist with the Keen Perception SC, including those with an active Byakugan or Sharigan. Jutsu:
- Spoiler:
Name: Kakusareru Hakusha (Concealed Spur) Rank: E Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: The user must have prepared a shin or forearm guard or some other appearal ahead of time to carry a kunai or some other small bladed weapon. By moving the leg or arm in a violent and abrupt manner (such as stomping the foot or yanking the arm back) while tensing and relaxing particular muscles, the user can cause the blade to slide out enough to be used to stab or slash an opponent. Typically combined with a knee or elbow strike, this is usually the option of last resort - used to inflict a lethal blow on an enemy too close to dodge that has the user at a disadvantage. Chakra Cost 1
Name: Fuito Toukyuu (Foot Throw) Rank: E Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Description: In close combat there come times when one needs to attack a target from a distance but the hands aren't free. This technique helps in such situations by allowing the user to grab a small throwing weapon such as a kunai with their toes or the soles of their feet (using chakra to attach the weapon) then throw the weapon using the leg with a reasonable degree of accuracy with no lose of striking power but reduced range. It can also be used to throw a small weapon that is concealed in ones footwear if such is available. Chakra Cost 1
Name: Tasuku Ouda (Wing Strike) Rank: D Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: By twisting the body and chambering the arm across the chest, the user takes one step forward and unwinds in a powerful forearm strike or knife hand to the opponents head and neck area. Due to the power of the strike opponents are likely be knocked down or forced several steps backwards. In addition blows that hit in front of the throat can injury the windpipe, causing the target to gag for air for a single post due to the tube spasming. Chakra Cost 3
Name: Rakka Tasuku Ouda (Falling Wing Strike) Rank: D Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: Done when the users upper body is at least a foot higher than the target, the user brings their fist inwards and lifts their elbow up then simultaneously sends the opposite leg to the side or back, folds the other knee, and brings their elbow down onto the target while bending their body such that when the strike hits both upper and lower arms are perpendicular to the point of impact. Due to the extreme force of the attack those so hit and not heavily braced will be knocked down. Victims unfortunate enough to be hit in the soloplexus or kidney will have the wind knocked out of them or be in immense pain for 2 posts. Chakra Cost 4
Name: Tasuku Toukkyuu (Wing Throw) Rank: D Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: A full-body throw using both strength and leverage, the user starts by grabbing one of the opponents limbs or weapons then turning while simultaneously dropping to one knee so that the target travels over their back in an arc. The combination of leverage and rotation is enough to easily throw a large adult male up to 5 meters and have them land within a foot of the practitioners intended target. Chakra Cost 3
Name: Aki Higyou (Autumn Flight) Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: A three-blow combination that starts with a spinning backhand or forearm strike to the targets head then is followed up by a low sweeping kick at the knees and finally a rising knee to the targets face as they tumble forward from the kick. Due to the extra force generated by the victim falling into the knee as it comes up, the attack is easily capable of snapping the target back up into the air for several feet. Chakra Cost 5
Name: Bunretsu Kusa(Splitting Grass) Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: One of the most direct and violent moves in Kage Tsume, Splitting Grass is used by first occupying the enemies hands (usually by grabbing them) then forcing them to the sides while stepping in to deliver a vicious headbutt to the targets nose or a knee to the groin. The most destructive part comes afterwards as the user lets go of the dazed opponents hands and jumps upwards while curling into a tight ball until their body is at chest level with their target and their head pointing down. From this position they extend their body so that their hands reach towards the ground while both feet make violent contact with the opponents face or jaw. The resulting hand stand/ mule kick combination with extra rotational energy is easily capable of launching a man sized target over 3 meters into the air and up to 4 meters away as well causing extensive damage to the face. Due to the burst of speed required this can be the only offensive action performed by the user in their post. Chakra Cost 5
Name: Haiboku Yabu (Beating Bushes) Rank: B Type: Taijutsu Range: Close (melee) Description: Starting in close the user will make, in rapid succession, an elbow strike at the victims face then a knee strike at the floating rib followed by striking with the heel of the plam at the soloplexus before ducking and spinning under the victims arm to come behind where they will deliver a spear hand to the knee, a knee strike to the kidney, and an elbow strike to the base of the skull followed up by a downward forearm strike at the junction of shoulder and arm and a snap kick to the back of the other knee. Those who are unable to defend against this flurry of strikes will end up on the ground as their legs collapse from the strikes to the knees and risk a punctured lung (from the strike to the floating rib), internal bleeding (from the kidney strike), and a concussion (from the strike to the skull). Chakra Cost 12

| The staff have discussed this and it has been decided that Genin will not be allowed to create their own Taijutsu fighting styles. If you'd like, you can get a higher ranking member to submit this for you.

| Eh, I think shelving it for now would be a good idea. It's clan specific (at least in intent) and no higher-ranked player-controlled members of the clan exist.
Athough if possible I would appreciate a once-over of the jutsu; if I ever get around for formalizing some NPC's I intend to use them and I don't want them getting axed mid-thread.
Oh and congrats on the promotion. I'll send my condolences in a card along with a bottle of elephant-grade asprin. |
