The Honor Found in the Blade(Mission) - Page 3 Vide
PostSubject: Re: The Honor Found in the Blade(Mission) The Honor Found in the Blade(Mission) - Page 3 EmptySat 02 Jun 2012, 11:31 pm

Saitou yawned, stretching as he did so. The rays of sunlight filtering through the half drawn blinds covering a window informed him it was dawn, and the few hours of sleep he had gained could have been much more plentiful. He felt slightly comforted to know that he would begin heading home soon, however. It was with a twinge of guilt that the genin remembered he would be leaving Kana-san behind in the village, to return home. Although Saitou knew he was not to contradict his senior comrade's orders, he felt guilty that he would leave without the other. Of course, it was only logical that he and the youngest of the group should return, and thus he did not bother complain. Shaking his head, the youth began to pace the room. He realised quickly that Masamune-San was absent; pushing aside panic, the boy reasoned that his companion was most likely preparing to depart, or scrounging food before they left. There was nothing to worry about. Without any particular haste, the tired genin began to shift his bedroll into a presentable fashion and gather his garments properly. Once he was sure he had everything he'd ventured to the small village with, he left the room, rubbing his eyes as he set off to look for his comrade.

It was a reasonably nice day; much better than the day before, and the conditions were much better for travel. Despite this, the heavy deluge from last night meant the terrain would probably still be waterlogged. They would be in no real rush to leave, but there was no reason to dawdle any longer and Saitou knew he would have to report back to his superiors at Konohagakure no Sato, in Kana-San's place. As he left the guest house, the genin found himself in a large back garden, but there was still no sight of Masamune-San. He began to stroll between hedgerows, constantly calling the boy's name, over and over. The youth wasn't quite worried yet, but he did wonder where the other could have got to. It was obvious to all but the extremely oblivious that the younger genin was traumatised after the recent events and what he had witnessed, and he probably wasn't in the best possible mental state at the current time. However, Saitou doubted he would have gone too far nor done anything stupid. It was more a question of leaving now rather than wasting time in the village. But there was, perhaps, another incentive for the boy to leave the settlement. The purple haired genin, admittedly, did not like the idea of having to bear witness to such a merciless, barbaric execution. It was probably for the best Masamune-San didn't see it either. No, there was nothing left for them to do here, and Kana-san had taken on the unpleasant task of observing the spectacle; they had no reason to stay, and Saitou was anxious to leave as soon as possible. It was still the early hours of dawn, and if they travelled 'till dusk, it was likely they would be very close to home before the next day arrived.

"Masamune-San! Time for us to leave, come on, we're wasting daylight!"

Admittedly, the youth was beginning to panic about the whereabouts of his comrade. Hopefully they would be leaving the village very soon.

Masamune woke up, dirt covered his face and it was cold. He had spend the whole night outside in the forest, thinking about life and worth, about pride and honour and just what the reason for all this was. He looked terrible, he had cried the whole night and that was clearly visible in his eyes, yesterdays night had been a important one for his life. He had thought about things which he didn't waist a single thought on so far and he had made a decision. He would change something, the question was: how? The only conclusion he had come to by doing what he believed in, by doing what was right and prove with his very own power that there was another way, another way besides hatred and corruption, a way out of the mindless killing for some higher reason. As he slowly got on his feet again his eyes had changed, no longer was he the small kid, lusting for piece and his own comfort, his eyes were cold, showed no emotion and his body shivered. His fist slammed into a tree and he hold back yet another tear attack and screamed out towards the morning sun and everything this life had to over. As he walked out of the forest, with dirt covering his faces half, his fist bleeding and his eyes staring at life in a new way he saw Saitou. As his friend came running towards him, sincerely caring for the youngsters well being, the shadows vanished from his face and he became yet again the nice and helpless boy. Falling into Saitous arms he was sorry for making his friend worry and excused his disappearance.
"Saitou.... it is time to get going..." And with that much said the boy wandered off, towards the street. He would not stop as there was no reason to do so, he didn't looked back to see if Saitou was about to follow, he just wanted to leave this place behind already. Leave behind what had happened and what would happen and as his eyes stared towards the cloudy sky one last time his decision was made, no longer would he keep living like this...

Saitou was now moving quickly, trepidatious about the whereabouts and wellbeing of his young comrade. It was as he jogged toward a tree line that he felt the flooding rush of relief he'd been needing to feel; the genin began to run toward his friend, disturbed by the sight of him. Puffy red eyes signified many tears had fallen from Masamune's violet eyes, so like his own. A bloodied fist and a face half encrusted in mud suggested what could only be described as a rough night; however, when the small boy collapsed into Saitou's arms, he ignored the fact his shirt was now horrendously dirty. Kana-san may have known what to do in such a situation, but the purple haired genin had no idea whatsoever on how to act. Thankfully, it didn't take much before Masamune steadied himself, announcing that it was time to leave. It might have been seen as an order, but the statement was completely truthful, and Saitou was more than obliging to leave the village with all haste. Yawning, he realised that his partner was already many paces ahead of him. Shaking his head, the older genin jogged to catch up, staying side by side to his companion.

With the day still in the early hours of dawn, there would be many hours of walking ahead. It would, hopefully, be uneventful, unlike the initial journey. Saitou was willing to bet nothing would come across their paths; there would be no thugs on their tails, no hired daggers or bandits awaiting them, just a quiet landscape. The kunai in the youth's pouches seemed like they were no longer required, that they would simply wait until they were stored away for future use on yet another mission. With a small smile at the thought of returning home, Saitou strode onward. Normally, a sense of accomplishment surfaced whenever he completed a mission, especially one like this, but none came. Perhaps it was the guilt of leaving Kana-San behind. Or the regret of not being able to do anything for the lord of the village. Either way, it was hindering his joy; with one last glance back at the village, the youth wished his comrade luck, and hoped there would be no complications with the morbid execution, nor his friend's return journey. Looking forward once more, Saitou felt the euphoria of at least knowing it wouldn't be much longer before he was at home, probably lying in his bed, away from the outside world in which the recent events had taken place.
