| Had an idea for a custom item the other day.
- Quote :
- These kunai have the special [name] seal attached. When the seal is activated, the bloodline-negating effect of the Nagase's Idaten extends to cover the surrounding area (15m).
It's a work in progress, obviously. But my question is this: as my character isn't a Fuuin specialist, would this item even be available to her? Could she seek out someone who could create the seal, or maybe have a 'history' within the training that explains where/when/how the seal came about?
I know that I could have created such items with my character's original application, thus it must be possible to attain them IC, I just wondered how.

P.S. I swear I used to know this stuff. Been out of the loop too long, I guess!

| I dont think you'd need the knowledge to have a kunai with a seal on it, but to activate it would be a different story.

| Available for her to use? Sure since she's just releasing a seal already present on an item. Recreating that seal and replenishing those items when they've all been used? Not so much. You'd have to meet someone who does have that specialty IC every time you wanted to obtain more of those kunai which is possible but not altogether practical. You'd also have to keep track of your supply across topics while you were in between these trips which is no small pain in the ass.

| So saying that she has a 'secret stash' (haha) somewhere with a large quantity of them would be out of the question? |

| Couldn't you just pop that special seal of yours on an ordinary Kunai? |

| Yep, but the problem is that once I run out, there's no one I can get more from. So I was trying to work out if I could set up an unlimited supply in a specific location (Getsugakure, for instance). I'd have to travel and collect more each time I run out.
That, or wait until a nukenin character arrives and has high-level sealing skills. |

| It occurs to me that the Black Market characteristic could be utilized as a source of these special Kunais, as the whole idea behind it IS to get items from suspicious and unusual sources that aren't readily available. You could have a contact within the market who supplies you with these special Kunais.
Just a thought though. Not a Mod. Don't know if I'm not supposed to post. Could be wrong about the Black Market working. Yeeeeaaaah. Shiro out. |

| That would probably work. Shame I'm out of SC slots! |

| I definitely thought one could trade in specialties if they wish to.
Example:
Shinobi A no longer wishes to have the "Hunter-Nin Accuracy," an A-Rank technique. Therefore, they request for it to be removed and replaced by the C-Rank technique "Improved Endurance," which they must, as per usual, train it up like any other additional SC. |

Could she? Pfft. Don't really read your own rules, do you, Adam? |

| I wrote most of the rules mate. I don't recall ever writing or reading something about allowing people to change their special characteristics which is probably due to the fact that such a rule doesn't exist. |

| Sorry for leaving this, I've been super busy lately. Not even logged on in a while! Erm, I'm not fussed about the conclusion to this. Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to replenish a stock of 'special-seal' kunai, but all things considered I can do without them. If anyone has a solution, great - please tell! If not, then this can be locked and done away with.
P.S. I thought I heard something on the grapevine about changing SCs too. Can't remember properly though, sowweh! |

| I'm only posting because I missed your awesome presence.
And nope, no changes to the SCs so far. If I say that 'the Staff are working on something', it will make everyone anticipate changes left and right, falling from the sky, dropping, erupting and clawing their way out from the ground... but yeah. We are working on something. Apparently.... o.o To be continued? In cinemas soon? xD A revamp is coming. Probz. But don't worry about it If anything, Shiro brought out attention to a number of bits and bobs, so we'll probably get to work on them soon. But then take soon, multiply it by 20 and then add the laziness value of the Staff, combined. You get? 10 million years. YIKES! |

| Yepyep, Ulkira's interpretation is what I meant. Sowweh Chris!
So to do this, I need to switch to a Black Market SC? If that's the only way to do this, then this question has been answered and the thread is done. |
