Clan Name: Laei
Clan Location: Kohonagakure no Sato~Fire Country~"Village Hidden In the Leaves"
Clan Traits: Physical traits tend to get them confused for albino, or even descendants of the infamous Kaguya clan. Most tend to bare extremely pale complexions, VERY light hair (usually white) and scarlet, crimson, amber, and sometimes even brown eyes.

Kekkei Genkai: Those who are born into the Laei Clan do not possess a recognized ‘bloodline’ of any special nature per say; however, members of this clan, most lay the fault on in breeding, have a severe mental disorder; by the name of which people often prefer to call it, ‘split personalities.’ Not one person who has been born into this clan has been spared of the ‘curse,’ as the members sometimes call it; and each case is, unfortunately, worse than the last.

These, so-called ‘split personalities’ are developed upon birth, and, unlike the stereotype that usually follows ones thoughts upon the first utterance of the words, this disorder does not consist of the normal two or three personalities hallucinated in a persons mind; but rather, their very emotions, which are manipulated by the atmosphere of their current environment, are expressed through many different portraits of personalities. For example, if their surrounding environment is influenced by the presence of sadness, the member’s current mindset, thought process, and overall person will be cleansed of their former tasks, and focus solely upon that one emotion, becoming severely depressed. It applies for anger, happiness, and fear; even embarrassment and love; any and every human emotion that could possibly be expressed.

Now, if a member of the Laei Clan finds himself in a situation where there are several different emotions being expressed, he will naturally focus upon the strongest of them all. However, should there be no clear dominance over any, he will naturally, as well as involuntarily, withdraw himself from the matter altogether, his mind sheltering itself from a potentially fatal breakdown, or even seizure; ultimately becoming unresponsive to the physical world, unmoving, silent until his mind and body deem it safe for him to resurface once more. Conscious of this glaringly dangerous scenario, being open and unguarded for an attack without the chance for defense, it is why most members choose to live in the confinements of their home until death, with others who understand and do not judge them for actions and words they cannot control.

The Laei, literally, do not possess their own selves, for they cannot. No true desires, hopes, dreams, likes, loves, even fears or dislikes, or even hatreds. Even the frequent passion for their freedom is washed away with one little change in their surroundings. They often find themselves saying, and doing irrational things that they themselves have no control over. Whether it be chastising an authority figure, to even getting in a physical confrontation with a perfect stranger. The lot of them end up dead by the first decade or so, only leaving room for the witted and intelligent, and most importantly, the tough. Living in an inescapable hell, the hell known as life. The members of this terribly misfortunate clan are all-too-often known to endure severe mental, and nervous breakdowns if their environment becomes too much for them to handle; the worst of the bunch are known to also experience frequent, violent seizures because of this.

Considering how gifted a member has developed into, there can be extremely rare cases in which one of the Laei has managed to form their own personality; possessing their own thoughts, desires, ect. This breakthrough would be known to a ‘recognized’ clan as a stage, or perhaps maybe an ‘extension’ to their bloodline technique. It takes an experienced, talented individual, to be able to successfully suppress such violent, wild and constant fluxuation of their mindset and emotions; however, most of those who are indeed, successfully capable of achieving such often endure permanent, scarring damage to their psyche. The most common injury that is inflicted upon the member would be hallucinations, involving themselves; each and every single time their emotions and personality shifts with their environment.

Most often, the member will not be aware of the hallucination surrounding him, and once brought back to reality, they will be quite confused, but will almost always be under the impression that it did actually take place, no matter what it may have been, or who tries to convince them different. There have been a considerably large number of situations in which the member has lived out entire lives when in the grasp of the hallucination, right down to their deaths; and when brought out of their daze, they are, needless to say, shocked at the revelation that mere minutes have passed in reality, while they had lived out full lives in what was to be discovered, nothing more than a dream. Most, if not all the Laei members who have progressed to such a point at which they can’t separate reality from fantasy any longer, have an unfortunate tendency to have suicidal preferences, which happens to be the reason for such a small population of such individuals within the clan.

History: Not much is known about the Laei, aside from where they originated, Kohonagakure no Sato, more than 70 years before the present; and currently, still reside in the same historically old Manor that rests just against the edge of the outskirts; hidden by layers upon layers of lush green trees, the farthest possible location away from the danger of civilization. It is said that a senile elderly man moved his quite large family from somewhere along the borders of Kumogakure, building the Manor that still stands today as the home of the Laei clan members; allowing the breeding to continue solely within the confinements of their residence, then incorporating the skills of ninja, creating what the other ‘recognized’ clans would refer to as, the ‘headquarters,’ or ‘home base’ for the misfit family.

Despite their obvious lack of an actual bloodline trait, or technique the Laei are actually respectably skilled fighters, and possess their own style; in which they incorporate their so-called ‘disability’ to psych out their opponents with confusion and such. The Laei have established their own training grounds near their home in the more recent years, as well as their own teaching facilities for the younger members within the Manor; to be able to educate their own on what is to come; and what is expected of them, as well as how to go about interacting in society, ect. . It would be the same as attending a village’s Ninja Academy, members having to pass various requirements of the clan, before ‘graduating,’ if you will. The older, (usually around 14-16) ‘graduated’ members are mostly the ones who run the classes, all of the members having to abide by strict rules, schedules, and laws within the clan.

Few reside on their own away from the Manor, but there are some who dare to venture away from the safety of their kin, out into the unknown of civilizations. However, just because there are those that choose not to live with the rest of their clan, doesn’t mean they are any less responsible for following the clan laws and rules as a member; such as the single, most sacred rule of having any sort of intimate, and/or romantic relationship with any person(s) outside of the clan is forbidden; all such relationships are restricted to their own kind. Anyone who dares to break this heavily practiced law, shall be executed for treason without the chance to go for a respected trail; burned and tossed away in some forgotten place, their name never to be spoken of unless one desires to meet the exact fate.
