| Joushi Ryougi walked calmly and casually down the long laid road, each slap of his sandal echoing softly as he crossed over the mountains, the brisk high altitude air striking across his face, blowing his bangs from side-to-side. His arms lay crossed, forearms covered by the opposite arm's sleeves. He'd give a snort, eying the outpost ahead where other Kumo Shinobi watched their approach. "Blasted commoners...As we even need to pass through this checkpoint to leave this country." Ryougi knew that he could easily weave an illusion that none here would be able to see through, and pass through without a single man batting an eyelash. Of course, tempting as it was to abuse his powers overs reality, he was with another today, and thus could not slip through unnoted. He let out a sigh, scratching the back of his head. "A ruler should not be weighed down by his subjects- He should be uplifted by them, and be above such petty laws." He made a mental note to petition the clan head to obtain special clearance for Joushi, and enable them to pass unimpeded. Alas, no such petition would be passed in the next hour.
"Yare yare..." He muttered under his breath, glancing back the dark-skinned youth who followed him. The Genin hadn't said all that much, perhaps intimidated by the unusual and no doubt impressive powers of Ryougi. He had always been smug concerning his illusions, their sudden and realistic force breaking men into tears and fear over his unusual style of deception. Of course, that was merely his basic abilities, and his disciple of ninjutsu would see far more than his punny visual trick. "Hmph." He'd adjust his adjustable classes, shaking his head. "Regulations and policies do not befit those of greater calibur. Do you not agree, boy?" He would ask the commoner ninja, Ryougi knowing little of his ally, having not read his documents. He considered such things trivial, after all. Paperwork did not make a man's existence. Action did.

| One mountain after the other, the hills just seemed to keep on rolling by. This was of no concern for Robin, nor was there a concern for the lack of talking. Robin by nature didn't mind the silence, however he understood its limitation and how awkward it could be for someone not of his same personality type. He listened diligently to Ryougi slander the village borders and its ninja who would hopefully protect it with their lives.. hopefully. He then continued to ramble on something that could have relation, but was of no place for their current intentions to do with ruling and laws. He's a wackjob, thought Robin as he awaited for his Chuunin mission-leader to continue on in the destination. At this stage in their relationship, Robin was happy to listen and provide input when commanded upon.
The sky was still beautiful, however the terrain had begun to change ever so slightly from the huge carved out mountains and subtly transform into a scrubby tundra. It was still a cool terrain, however here it would appear not much life would survive. Yet trees still grew and that was because of the residual melting frost becoming groundwater and would serve as a hidden oasis for these trees. It was dense and coincidentally ended at the border of the village's territory; artificially of course. Upon admiring the scenery, Robin's attention shifted to the shaking of Ryougi's head. He knew something was about to come from the depths of the inner workings of the man's mind and be voiced in any form he so desired - that's what he assumed Ryougi to be like; he speaks his mind.
"Regulations and policies do not befit those of greater calibur. Do you not agree, boy?" Politics, that's what he dared speak with Robin. Thankfully for Ryougi, Robin was well versed in as much possible to do with the village and politics was one small aspect. He replied, "It depends if those regulations and policies were made by said people of great calibur. You know, the ones who are in control rule their respective factions with a dictatorship as it is termed; they are often the people who develop these to limit everyone else." He continued, "But I suppose such things are not a sound fit for those seeking more illustrious powers. Is there something bothering or not agreeing with you, these 'rules' so to speak of something concerning you?" Robin continued to walk towards the border village in tow behind Ryougi, following him like a puppy. |

| Politics? Joushi would argue that it was not a matter of politics but of respect and reality failing to meet the standards of the ideal. As to the inner-workings of village politics, Ryougi himself had not heavily invested his time in the legal proceeding but instead ranting out in the streets, daring to challenge the people directly to make change, else face the Joushi wraith. Of course, some methods were...Extreme, even for his clan. "Hmm..." The boy might hold a moderately decent point in that respect, as wisdom differed from man to man. It was be the hope of the people under rule that their leaders were wise, or at least wiser than they themselves. Yet Ryougi saw flaw in the decisions here nonetheless. "Perhaps. You, I do not think, look through the world in a veil of true, and fail to see the flaws that permeate throughout the world." Ryougi would tell the Genin, knowing that many outside his clan did not understand the Joushi Ideology. "But enough of petty imperfections I suppose. Tell me, what exactly is our purpose outside of this country is, hmm?" Once more, he had not read the file.
Joushi Ryougi turned forward, awaiting the young man's answer as they neared the gate, stopping in front of it as chunins shuffled around, preparing paperwork and wanting their IDs in order to clear them for departure and approval of their mission. It was possible that they had infilitrated the country after all, and leaving the easy way would be wrong. They could also be carrying illegal goods, have falsified their mission, or planned on revealing Kumo secrets to outsiders. While all of these processes had good purpose and intention, a Joushi shouldn't need be stopped for such things. They sought perfection of the world after all, not the destruction of Kumogakure. ...Well. Most of them anyway. |

| "..what exactly is our purpose outside of this country?" he understood Ryougi asking. This brought a slight snicker to Robin's expression as it would appear the information concerning this mission was of seemingly no concern to Ryougi. Talking about power hunger, politics and he hadn't read the briefing, for a 17 year old he has quite the ego, Robin thought as Ryougi pivoted on the spot and turned to face him. Whilst the majority of his attention was brought now on Ryougi, he could still see the clutter and clamor of shinobi behind him who were looking to do their job; not very well for that matter it would seem. One shinobi wore a red hitae-ate instead of the usual black and the pair was instructed to understand the location of where they had deemed to track down their target. Robin took a breath before starting, "We must talk to that chuunin there, Korai is his name, where he will inform us of the location of the person we are going to hunt down. From what I know, he is a notorious thief who always seems to slip away and they've gotten some back up in the way of us. Now, I'd rather capture this guy in the light than day so I can go home and have a long sleep." Robin spoke honestly and humbly, but he knew some people could take information differently to others, he was hoping Ryougi wouldn't be so angst because of it.
Two shinobi leapt from the guard tower, one Korai and the other some nobody to the pair. They had no documents on them but verbal information to pass on. Korai spoke, "You've been cleared to pass, your papers were sent through messenger hawk earlier. The suspect who goes under the alias of shadow is 2miles south of here in literally one direction. You will find a lake with a grotto in the middle and in there is his residency, let us pray he doesn't suspect you guys are after him already. Goodluck Gentleman." Korai finished and returned to the outpost where he came, allowing safe passage through for the pair of them. Robin stepped two paces forward to catch up in line with Shiro and asked him politely, "Can we stretch our legs, a little warm up if he decides to make a runner himself?"

| (You called me Shiro in your post Dan Shiro has not yet returned to the world I'm afraid. That's later with the cult~)
Ryougi would grimace lightly, his ears as tuned as the rest of his body was. After all, sound was the very basis of initation of the Joushi techniques. Being able to note the distinct traits of another's voice was key to finding out if another clan member was placing an illusion upon you. In this case, however, the Joushi found no illusion but instead something he didn't like very much. Meanie. "Korai..." He'd repeat, letting out a sigh. "If we must. A thief isn't something normally dealt with by Kumo Shinobi. Shouldn't the local government be able to deal with it? It seems odd that they must resort to my clan's aid to catch a rogue." A Joushi's purpose was higher things than mere robbery, after all.
The chunin would listen to his fellow shinobi's words, then snort. Ryougi was anything but predictable. He would make certain that their target never had a clue what form of lightning struck him. "A mere burglar won't be a match, Korai-kun, I assure you." His eyes would flicker to Robin, then chuckle. "Very well. I suppose we could make this venture shorter than already it is." Ryougi would take a breath, clapping his hands together and holding them in front of him dramatically. His legs would twitch, and his neck would crack as he rolled it to the side. "On your mark-" He'd begin. He would never finish though, however, as he was already racing forward, springing forth with a speed few but a shinobi could match. |
