Testing the waters(mission, Kana and Setsuna)

Kana readjusted his pack, after the new management of the Mission’s Office; the assignments had been ever more accurate and professional. It could perhaps be because a new Hokage had been selected and changes had been implemented to run the village better. This was a time to reform and after the void the last war had left, it was a glimmer of a hopeful future to see that the village was meeting it head on. He sported new gear, his medical Chunnin flak jacket and his new MED1 pack. He had been ordered to wait outside the village gates for his partner, Shimotsuki, Setsuna and the delivery of a sealed scroll by a Jounnin. The fact that such a high ranking ninja would be the one giving them the scroll spoke of the high importance contained within it. It was no surprise that he and Setsuna would be forbidden to look at its contents. Such a warning need not have been issued to him but he understood the need to be thorough and mention every possible warning.

The young medic looked towards the village, the name of his partner sounded familiar but he could not place a face. It technically did not matter who his partner was but a familiar face such as that of the short and reckless Hinamori, Toshiro or the purple haired Masaki, Saitou would have been a welcome sight seeing as he would have to travel to the village hidden in the clouds. The fact that it was only he and a Gennin placed him in the leadership role and that was something Kana was not looking forward to. Still he would have to grit his teeth and bare it. Someday he would be in charge of a medical operation or another such task and the sooner he learned how to lead and how to inspire, the sooner he would swallow that pungent knot that thinking of failure left in his mouth. Kana hoped the Shimotsuki was punctual; it would not do to have the Jounnin arrive and find one of the members of the group missing.
