In which case, I'd like to fix a few things, since Rank no longer matters for the purpose of breaking. (I.e., A Genin can release an S-rank if I'm reading the new guide right.)

To answer your example; yes. They could. Though it's incredibly unlikely. Not only would they completely drain their chakra supply doing so, but also would find it really hard to notice. They're Genin. They have no experience in Genjutsu, how could they even discover they are in an S-rank? Just because it CAN happen, does not mean it WILL. The world CAN simultaneously combust.

My Genjutsus need to be edited to the new template, and Joui no longer works for the purposes of Genjutsus being one rank higher to release. Since any rank can release any rank now.

And because I learned academy Jutsu don't count for slots, I can add more jutsus to my characters list o.o
