| Seeing as through reading books we learn and expand our writing capabilities, I would be largely interested in any such books. Although I could probably use the very reliable tool that is Google, I am by far more interested in fiding out what sort of literature our lovely community values and enjoys. And as mentioned, reading aides one's writing, so passing on your literary inspirations is truly a worthy task.
So yeah... What sort of books do you like? Do share ^_^

| Well, of course the above, but...
I started with and have long been a fan of fantasy of varying forms levels, be it high fantasy or some combination of other genres.
I'm a big fan of historical fiction, which is cool in the way its able to draw you into another time and place while still managing to entertain you.
Science fiction is a lesser love of mine, but enjoy nonetheless in how what was yesturday myth can one day become something possible today.
I like philosophical texts which explores the basis of man, existence, and life, and loves thinking about all that sweet deep jazz.
All in all I love any books that have secrets, so I've got a bit of joy of mysteries I suppose, depending how good they are and how much they give ya.
Non-Fiction isn't my cup of tea, but some authors manage to capture my interest, such as Jon Krakhauer
I consider manga literature, and literately devour my way through their pages.
All in all I'm a biblioholic~ |

| Big fan of autobiographies on people who have achieved success or whom I deem to be a role-model to me: Bear Grylls, Sir Richard Branson. I enjoyed reading some fantasies (City of Glass etc.) and have been into the cherub series, but mostly I just love reading historical fiction. Past events that happened told by people who actually experienced it. Bear Grylls is my favorite. ;3 |

| I'm not a person that likes to read books. I can barely force myself to read Game of Thrones, but I digress, if I would actually like to read books, than I would definitively pick detective stories. I don't know why, I always liked elaborate murders and a smart detective trying to figure out this master plan. That's why I like to watch detective TV shows such as Psych, Colombo and similar stuff. But yeah, I'm not a person who likes to read books so I read comics and mangas. |

| I highly recommend "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Seriously speaking here, one of the best books I've ever read in my entire life. Most books start with a great introduction and manage to lose momentum as the story continues, but this just keeps the pace going, truly a gripping story. I think it might be based on a true story as well. The book isn't for everyone though and it is honestly a bit difficult to understand but I highly recommend sticking to it, the ending is just beautiful! Anywho, really hope you read the book and I hope I've helped. |

| David Eddings "Elenium" and "Tamuli", Anne McCathrey's "Dragon Riders of Pern", and Christopher Stasheff's "A Wizard in Rhyme" and "The Warlock" are my favorite picks for pure recreational reading. For mixed reading I'm more inclined to books & articles on animal behavior and psychology.
I tried A Song of Ice and Fire and couldn't get past the first book. Probably because steam of conscious writing was never something I cared for. Pity too because I liked the precursor short story "The Hedge Knight" that Mr Martin wrote in the Legends anthology. Oh and don't bother with Wheel of Time. The first three books were great, fourth and fifth were okay, but after that it pretty much lost cohesion. |

Either way, die in a library D< Or a bookshop. Or WHSmith! (Or Waterstones... or um. BOOKS!) |

But lettuce bee cereal for a moment here. I am a huge fan of plays and classic literature. 'Doctor Faustus' is absolutely amazing and I always recommend reading both A and B Text. It's a stellar telling, as Faust was one of the first tales to use the "Good and Evil Angels" to depict one's conscience.
I also am a big fan of Fantasy Novels. I would honestly have to say that my favourite series was the Night Angel one, written by Brett Weeks. The characters are amazing and I seriously find myself rereading those books often.
Another one of my favourites is kind of embarrassing. I read it when I was thirteen, and I still love this book to this day. 'Dragon: Hound of Honor' by Julie Edwards and Emma Hamilton is just... UGH. amazing. fabulous. heart-wrenching. It's about a flipping dog that helps solve the murder of his owner. Like, come on! Loved that book.
Finally, another really good read is 'Still Alice' by Lisa Genova. It focuses on a professor who develops Alzheimer's and the trials she goes through. The loss of her husband's love, her isolation, her confusion and frustration. It's torturous to read as you feel so frustrated for this woman, but honest to god, it is probably one of the best novels I have ever read. It touched my heart, and I don't think I'll ever be the same since I've read it. |

| Ishmael and then the sequel (which I prefer, and you don't need to read both as it's not a direct sequel) My Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. I've recommended the latter to many people, and pretty much everyone finished it in only a few days. |
