I pretty much predicted this chapter before it even aired.. They finish the flash back; proceed to talk and 'fight' for some 10 pages; then finally when Itachi is about to use his ultimate technique, it ends ;D

Chapters are also getting shorter. It used to always be between 18 and 21. then it averaged around 17 for a while. Then it was always 15 or 16, and now 14. Eventually we'll just be getting one shots Very Happy

In his defence, this is the 585th chapter! If I was good at drawing (anything) I doubt I would produce about 9400 pages regarding to the same story/theme. Sure it is fun for us and he gets paid for it, so congratz to him, but still, I'm sure he is tired of Naruto. And I mean TIRED! Imagine, seeing as the Series has been around for like 4 years, always drawing the same characters. He has probably known how 'Naruto' will end from the very start of the Manga. The fact that it is taking him four years to reveal the eventual end, must be torture D:

So yeah, it is understandable if there is a decline in the quality.

This is why the best manga's are the ones which do not last this long since the artist ends them just when he starts to get bored with them.

Or, he ends them and starts them again.

You're dead wrong on how long Naruto has been around. Do a little research. Because it's been around since 1997.
