| It wasn't less than a week since he was last sent out on assignment and here he had turned over for another assignment, thought this one was more normal then the last two unorthodox cases he had to handle. He had hired in this situations via the Kuromatsu clan as though it were some sort of criminal job agency. One of their more off distant clients had a job that needed the special touch of vandalism and explosions with a dash of breaking shit. Now while he wasn't the worlds leading experts on breaking shit, he sure had a particular knack for it, and was immediately taken by the idea of the mission far away from home. It would be something of a vacation for him. Just a long business trip.
While he hadn't heard much of the region he did know that it was part of the world that was for the most part 'lawless'. While the great nations had the man power and the strength to defend and enforce their own laws and judicial system, lesser nations were more remote; being made up of usually just a capital and a few spread out villages and towns. They weren't nearly to the same scale and so they made great hiding places for refugees and criminals, or people that just wanted to get away and start over. Oddly enough, this lawless territory worked out well! Everyone sort of minded their business, and it worked. Without the controlling paranoia looming over people, people didn't have a reason TO start trouble. Or perhaps it was the other way around. Without being enforcing the laws and protecting the land, crimes of a certain degree simply went unnoticed and unchecked? Either way, as a criminal himself by definition, it was most likely a place where he would feel quite at home. After all, it was called "Bear Country" after all.
As for the trip itself? Long and boring as to be expected, though it was mostly for the fact that he knew once he got there he would have plenty to do. He was meeting up with a man there that would explain his job specifically and also another who would train him while he was in Bear Country to further sharpen his skills on the orders of his 'father'. While he didn't think he necessarily needed skill sharpening, he wasn't about to turn down a good brawl! It would take two days at least to get there, and traveling by way of wagon filled with 'fire works' he would most likely have to take his time. Why not kill two bird with one stone? |
