Clan Related, sorta Urgent.

Essentially, I want to create a clan that uses a more concentrated type of Raiton. They would be a religious clan, that gets their power from Raijin (God Of Thunder), sorta like the Jashinists(however the Raijin Clan is affiliated with Konoha and therefore is a "Good" clan) Now my main issue is, would this be okay? It'd be a pretty big downer if I wrote up a whole clan app only to be told that it isn't original enough or not acceptable. So I just wanted to ask here first.

Not being staff, I cannot say for sure, but I think there are problems with this. First and foremost, your clan ability would have to achieve something that the Raiton Prodigy/Master special characteristics (below) do not. Whatever this religion does for clansmen, I would have thought that it would need to be significantly different from these.

Description: The title given to those elite ninja who've become legendary for their power and skill over the lightning element. Being classified as a prodigy during their early years, the ninja has now mastered the lightning element and attains great power from their continuous training. The ninja's lightning is now 40% more destructive by the increase in voltage in size. The user can now more naturally flow lightning chakra through their body which allows them absorb other forms of lightning that is of lower rank than the user and nullify the attack. Through such mastery they also gain the ability to access a sub-element from the lightning element known as 'Vibration Release'. This allows them to create specialized jutsu under this sub-element.

Then you get onto the muddy ground of 'drawing power from a God'. I'm not sure this would be a-ok either. You could avoid any hassle whatsoever by adding the above characteristics to your character and designing him/her specifically to be strongly religious. That way, it is not inherent that his/her power comes from a deity but you still have all the component parts for your character to believe as such.

Fox explained it perfectly. If your clan cannot bring anything useful or original to the table, then you may as well go along with just making a character with the Raiton Prodigy/Master Special Characteristic. And do try to be original if you plan on making a clan. Having a clan that just gives stronger Raiton with little explained reason and no other effects is essentially pointless. If a regular member can mimic the clan's abilities through simple character development and special characteristics or even jutsu; then the clan is not original. Hope that explains your question~

I do plan to make the clan original, in the first post I was merely outlining the basics of the clan and I do plan to add more of a history and uniqueness to their abilities.

At this point then, I'd suggest that it's up to you. Just be aware that the staff may decide that, for reasons similar to those above, it has to be denied. Of course, you might create something truly unique with enough deviance from SC abilities that it is accepted. But yeah, your call. Razz

Like everyone else has pointed out within this topic, if the clan shows little to no originality then you'll probably be having a hard time getting it approved. Just to make sure you're aware, we no longer accept any clans that centre themselves around already existing Special Characteristics. Such as a clan which basically follows the Raiton Prodigy and Mastery SC's.
