| 大谷 卓巳 Every act is an act of self-definition Absurdism is a philosophy stating that the efforts of humanity to find meaning in the universe will ultimately fail (and, hence, are absurd) because no such meaning exists, at least in relation to humanity. Absurdism pertains that, although such meaning may exist, the pursuit of it is not essential. It's easy to highlight the absurdity of the human quest for purpose. It's common to assume that everything must have a purpose, a higher reason for existence. However, if one thing has a higher purpose, what is the reason for that purpose? Each new height must then be validated by a higher one.

tag - xxx || words - 654 || notes - xxx Truthfully, Takumi didn't really sleep. He meditated as best he could until Yasahiro's snores made that impossible. Then, he stood and investigated the area. He wasn't sure if he was doing it properly, but the Genin did make a point to focus on the most minuscule of details. He left no stone unturned. Takumi considered himself a candidate for the A.N.B.U. given his interest in such methodical, and precise actions (although he'd need much improvement before meeting the basic standards of the profession). In more than one way he felt he was capable and the concept of becoming anonymous upon putting on the mask was intriguing to the teen.
Moving amongst the nocturnal animals underneath a luminous moon and bright stars the Genin felt at peace. Swiftly, he finished scouting the area immediately around where he and the merchant had camped, and was now relocating to rest against the body of a rather thick tree. The discovery that Takumi was a Senju made the teen all the more interested in his village and its environment. Gleefully, he imagined himself being one with the forest and commanding trees and roots to do his bidding. An odd thing to be happy about, but the Genin was happy nonetheless.
Here he rested for a brief moment before once again scouting the field. Repeating this process up until sunrise when he stirred the large merchant from his deep sleep. Unbeknownst to Yasahiro - who awoke to the somewhat terrifying sight of ebony sclera staring at him - Takumi had slept a total of two hours to his seven, though he wasn't to blame. If the teen wasn't so thoroughly bandaged, the merchant would've noticed the dark circles under his eyes. A cold morning wind would be the sign to continue with their journey, and wanting to enjoy the breeze, the Genin undid a section of his precious wrappings, allowing his short raven hair to flow freely and breath (though the remainder of his head continued to be covered).
"Finally enjoying yourself, eh?" Yasahiro prodded, though he was no longer in the mood to tease. Takumi only nodded as a reply.
The road was deserted now as the pair was most likely the first to wake. Additionally, they had no inn to check out of , no springs to indulge in. The two were on the Roiyaru Road simply to travel; for business, not pleasure. The schedule that the Genin had thought up before hand was proving useful, as now Yasahiro would reach his destination by the late morning, allowing himself time to set up shop before the rush at noon.
Pleased, a hint of a smile stretched made an impression in the teen's wrappings as took light steps to match his counterpart's heavy stomps. Having adapted to the presence of the merchant, Takumi no longer took annoyance in the man's idiosyncrasies. Likewise, Yasahrio had stopped pestering the Genin about his cough. Unknowingly, the two had developed an odd sort of friendship, the type where two completely different people realize the value in one another.
Takumi understood that not everyone in the world was a shinobi, which could only be seen as a good thing since a surplus would most definitely lead to unwanted bloodshed. Futhermore, the Genin had learned (somewhat) to respect the man's craft. While Takumi would most likely die before his reached middle-age, this man was already there, happily traveling the country, doing business here and there. It was a different lifestyle, but definitely not a bad one.
It was almost bittersweet when the two crossed the last of many bridges and arrived at Shukuba Town. They exchanged their final goodbyes before the Genin watched his client disappear into the crowded streets. From there on out, Takumi would be alone, just as he preferred. And with a final glance towards the commercial town, the teen turned back towards the Roiyaru Road, ready to begin the journey home.
Finished Here
