PostSubject: Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Becoming Anonymous (Mission) EmptyThu 21 Jun 2012, 10:55 pm

There was a rumble, the sky briefly flashing in the dark clouds and rattling the windows of the headquarters the legendary KYOBU task force for Kumogakure no Sato. Thank god for the rain, it made things easier for Etorufuu than the unbearable heat that had settled around the village for the past few days. Miserable as the rain was for others nearly year round, not only the Yuki was enjoying the pitter patter of the light rain before the storm. The break from the heat, the recent promotion, all things were headed exactly as Etorufuu wanted them to but could not have achieved with such amazing accuracy. His footsteps clicked along the tile floor as he traversed the halls of the building and watching those around him.

The building was not exactly well populated, the sterilized appearance and casual nondescript style of the building allowed it to be multifunctional. Though the public was not allowed too deep into the compound, Etorufuu could only begin to imagine what all might be hidden behind the initial walls. Interrogation rooms, prison cells, training rooms, and who knew what else. All he could do was allow his eyes to roam over the barely off white walls or the wooden floors as he thought over the circumstances that lead him here. The Raikage bringing him to her office, the meeting on his team assignment and then months later on the subject of his KYOBU training schedule, and even now waiting to meet with someone assigned to KYOBU’s offices to receive his gear and training regimen; all of it leading to what he desired most.

He had arrived rather suddenly, and early for that matter, with his full set of gear. From the sandals on his feet to the pouches of ninja tools to the pair of swords across his back, he came here with the obvious intention of working hard and getting to work immediately on succeeding where others had failed. Since his days in the academy these anonymous saviors of the village had earned his respect and idolization.

A chair was found but ignored as Etorufuu stood like a bumpkin with his hands in his pockets and waiting for someone to approach him about his business, hoping he would not have to explain too much and that the Raikage had sent a notice ahead of him. Recently finished bringing an artifact from an archeology dig back to the village, he still smelled of the dust from the road that he had travelled before the clouds set in and the rain had begun. The click of a door opening brought his attention from the walls towards the door and the man walking towards him. His future approaching with every step of this individual took towards him. Today was yet another step, moving Etorufuu forward in life at a breakneck run.

Captain Kuchiki moved through the halls of the compound at a brisk pace, his footsteps creating virtually no sound as he made his way toward the room where he was to meet the new candidate that the Raikage had approved for a potential position among Kumogakure's KYOBU. Flanking the captain on either side of him were two subordinates who remained about five steps behind their leader as they escorted him to the meeting area. Soon they would come to the appropriate door. The captain halted his movements as one of his subordinates moved forward, opening the door only to remain standing in the doorway for a second or two, as if making sure there was no hidden trap or ambush in place behind the doorway. Once the subordinate had entered the room and stepped to the left the captain would enter, followed closely by his other subordinate who would move to the the right of the doorway, opposite from his counter part.

The captain approached the young man who stood in the middle of the room, neglecting to make use of the chair that had been placed out for him. The veteran KYOBU operative took a moment to appraise the young man who stood before him. The boy was young but not too young. His form was lithe and if Kuchiki had to pick a word to describe the over all physical appearance of this candidate he'd use "lanky". Lanky was good, he didn't need rotund operatives slowing his teams down. In fact, this trainee looked as though he might be pretty quick on his feet judging from how lithe and toned his body seemed.

"Have a seat."

The voice that spoke from behind the painted white mask was deep and commanding. It was a voice that carried authority and confidence but most importantly it was a voice that demanded obedience. The request was not a request at all. It was an order. The tone in which he spoke left no room for confusion. When one was responsible for the lives of an elite unit like KYOBU one had to command respect. Every word that the leader spoke had to carry weight and had to be obeyed. This was the way of KYOBU and this was the first lesson any trainee would need to learn before they even left this room. If they didn't they would never know the world of KYOBU and they would never realize what they had come here to achieve. The captain waited for the boy to take his seat before he'd begin to speak.

"Yuki, Etorufuu a.k.a The Razor. Age eighteen. Born to the Yuki family and a possessor of the Hyouton release. A skilled swordsmen and a chuunin of Kumogakure no Sato."

The man stated all this in a mechanical tone, leaving very little variation in his voice as he stared down at the boy on the chair from behind his mask. His arms crossed in front of his chest as he took a moment, pausing after finishing the statement, but it was obvious he had every inclination to speak again. He was not waiting for Entorufuu's response, he didn't care to hear it and hoped for the boy's sake that he'd remain silent until he was finished.

"Do you know why you are here Etorufuu Yuki?"

PostSubject: Re: Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Becoming Anonymous (Mission) EmptySun 24 Jun 2012, 3:27 am

Etorufuu could not help but turn his head towards the man who had opened the door and saw the familiar porcelain mask that identified him as a faceless member of KYOBU. Anonymity was a constant requirement for these individuals, those with faces one might remember as the person who slit their brother’s throat but left them alive because it what they had been ordered to do. The masks provided everything that could be desired by a person attached to KYOBU. Respect, authority, clearance to study some of the most powerful and some forbidden techniques squirreled away in secret libraries in the village; all those were within the grasp of any person who donned that mask and suddenly lost their identity to the village.

The man stepped to the side and revealed another man and as that one walked through there was another. Despite the different masks, each was cloaked with an air of mystery and remained completely unidentifiable. Their eyes peered out through the holes at the chuunin who carefully watched their every movement a nervousness and respect. His adrenaline was raging but he kept his exterior cool and calm for these shinobi who were considered the elite.

"Have a seat."

The tone of a command was not lost on the ‘Lanky’ shinobi, who was quick to find a chair and seat himself promptly. He looked uncomfortable, too energetic and ready to spring into action for the relaxation a chair provided. There was no doubt that this training was going to be difficult and lacking any understanding of what might be coming, Etorufuu was literally ready to draw kunai and kill on the spot if it was required of him and if they attempted to surprise him he would not be caught off guard and become just another victim. He would be the staunch defender, waiting for whatever may come with an open mind and quick reflexes.

Eyes remained on the man speaking, listening to every word that poured from his hidden lips. And what came would be a speech that Etorufuu had given barely a month ago to a genin who thought it would be cute to keep his allies in the dark about his abilities. That boy had come to his unit with arrogance, with a smugness that simply had to be squashed before it spawned something ugly in the Yuki’s team dynamic. Luckily he had come to this meeting without an ego or arrogance less it become his downfall with the elite.

"Yuki, Etorufuu a.k.a The Razor. Age eighteen. Born to the Yuki family and a possessor of the Hyouton release. A skilled swordsmen and a chuunin of Kumogakure no Sato."

And that was it, the dressing down of his person and abilities with a rapid spouting of memorized segments of a personnel file. In his own past Etorufuu had used it to show superiority, a knack for intelligence gathering, and even to just knock someone off balance with the fact that he knew it. Here was the same tactic attempted to be used against him and he almost smirked. The masked man’s arms folded across his chest but seemed about to speak again so Etorufuu remained silent and allowed the man continue to command the floor and conversation.

"Do you know why you are here Etorufuu Yuki?"

”On orders of the Honorable Raikage to be trained as an agent for KYOBU. I’m here with permission and a readiness to complete whatever is required of me to gain the same types of masks that you all wear and become a true asset to this village rather than another foot soldier whose actions may or may not be remembered. I’d rather my actions never be heard of but alter the course of history than continue moving with the herd. “

The answer was an honest one and might have belied a little more of the drive behind the Yuki’s intentions than he would have liked. In that sentence hid his hopes, dreams, philosophies, and even his nature as a shinobi. He was a tool, a vicious scalpel to be applied tactically and shift events. He lacked the gilded tongue of a manipulator but had the predatory nature of a sociopath kept in check by logic and his desire to remain incredibly low key presence to keep his superiors off of his case. This step though pushed him closer to not needing to avoid that, a chance to live a double life and disappear away from those superiors and become a shadow on the wall. What a delightful thought.

Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Vide
PostSubject: Re: Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Becoming Anonymous (Mission) EmptySun 24 Jun 2012, 11:08 pm

The man stood, arms crossed, staring down at the Yuki boy. Behind the mask his facial expression was a mystery, if there even was a facial expression to be displayed. The boy answered the question with an honesty that the man hadn't expected yet there was something that the captain felt needed to be added. It was a point that needed to be driven home. It was something that the captain would only tell this boy once in his career as a KYOBU operative. If Entorufuu ever forgot it then there would be no doubt in Kuchiki's mind that the boy wasn't cut out for KYOBU.

It wasn't that his answer was bad. There was a lot to be said about someone who wanted to make a difference, someone who wanted to contribute to the upkeep of an illusion rather than being someone stuck in it. Etorufuu Yuki, The Razor no longer wished to be a normal shinobi, he wanted to have a hand in the shadow work that kept the village alive and thriving. He wanted to be the faceless man behind the stage. Kuchiki could respect all of this. The man sighed as he moved a hand up toward his mask, his fingers spreading over the body of the mask as he pulled it up and soon away from his face, revealing the visage of an aged and heavily scarred man sporting only a single eye on the right side while the left remained hidden behind a black eye patch.

There was little doubt when one looked at him that he had seen his fair share of action. This was a man who had been KYOBU for the greater part of his life. This was a man who had served for a good deal of the former Raikage's service and this was a man who had trained nearly 200 special operatives all in various branches throughout Kumogakure and beyond in his lifetime. The man that stared down at Yuki held a stern expression, his scared face giving neither sign of approval or disapproval. The single steely grey eye just stared, almost as though the man were simply a walking corpse.

"Etorufuu Yuki, you are here because our Raikage has deemed you worthy to be. In you she sees someone who has the potential to be the best of the best. In you she sees someone whom she could one day trust with the lives of hundreds of people. On your shoulders she is placing the life of this village. You are here because she wills it. And because she wills it it will be up to me to see if you have what it takes and it will be up to me to make sure that you will be ready to hold such weight. Entorufuu Yuki, you will be ready when I'm through with you."

As he spoke his single grey orb narrowed, almost glaring at the candidate before he replaced his mask over his face, once again becoming a faceless member of KYOBU, losing his identity.

"Now then, Entorufuu Yuki, follow me. I will explain to you what you will need to do today to prove to me that you have what it takes to be one of us."

As the captain spoke he turned, beginning to walk toward the door from where he and his escort had just entered. Once he reached the door one of the men would open the door and quickly step in, moving ahead the group. Kuchiki was the next to step through the door, disappearing around the corner. The last of the escort merely stood there, waiting for Entorufuu to enter. Upon entering the doorway the last of the captain's escorts would exit the room, shutting the door behind them and following close behind the Yuki. Even as the group moved through their own halls there was a distinct formation that they seemed to follow. Perhaps it was a sign of paranoia or maybe the captain was just being shrewd. Either way, the escort operated with a machine life efficiency while always remaining on guard as Kuchiki marched through the hallway with Entorufuu.

"Two weeks ago we apprehended a spy whom had managed to infiltrate Kumogakure. This spy managed to glean some very valuable and very vital information. Upon interrogation it was found that this spy was selected for the job due to her photographic memory. As a result, even taking the documents from her would do us no good. After weeks of intense interrogation we managed to get the location of the one who sent her. We were planning on executing her but instead we decided to make things a bit more interesting..."

He paused as the group came up to what looked like a large elevator. The first operative of the escort quickly hit one of the buttons on the panel, calling the elevator up the shaft. The sound of the mechanisms whirring from behind the doors was very apparent, even among the backdrop of the dull thunder that continued to roar outside the compound. A small bell would signal that the cart had made it to their level and soon enough the doors in front of the group slid open. Kuchiki and his men would move into the elevator. If Entorufuu showed any sign of hesitation he'd feel the hand of the man behind him pushing him rather forcefully in an effort to get him to move forward and into the elevator with them. Once everyone was inside Kuchiki would press one of the many buttons on the internal panel, causing the cart to rapidly descend as they were taken beneath the mountain's surface into what could only be described as a labyrinth of caverns that almost honeycombed the entire mountain range of Kumogakure and the surrounding region. The doors slid open, revealing the dimly lit caverns, illuminated by the occasional hanging lantern or in some cases a rare type of fungus that gave off a natural, glowing light source.

"...Three hours before you arrived we released this girl from her cell and into these tunnels. We supplied her with basic supplies, enough weapons and provisions to last her a week within these tunnels if she were to get lost. Your mission is as follows. You are to track this spy down. Upon finding her you must kill her. To prove that you have killed her you will be required to sever her head from her body. Dispose of the body through any means and bring the head to me. After you have brought me the head I will send out a team to investigate the tunnels. They will be checking to see if the body has been properly disposed of and also if you left any sign of your presence in the tunnels. Failure to dispose of the body in a suitable manor or to mask your passing through these tunnels will result in you failing this exercise and failure for you to be accepted into our ranks. If you come back without the head you will instantly fail this exercise. Take this mission seriously as there is a real risk posed to the village. As a KYOBU you will be expected to perform perfectly in high stakes situations such as these."

After he finished speaking he'd take a deep breath as he stared out into the tunnel in front of them. The labyrinth began with a single tunnel that split into two, which then split into three and so on and so forth. The entire network was littered with dead ends and even possible traps for those who were unwitting and for those who didn't belong in the tunnels. He also suspected that the spy would also be placing traps of her own.

"Another thing...she knows you are coming. With the tools we gave her I wouldn't be surprised if she decided to set traps for her pursuer. Other than that I will not tell you any more information about your target. As you probably have guessed, often times you will be forced to perform your duties with limited information. You will need to stay on your toes. Now go, she's already got a three hour head start on you."

With that the captain would wait for Entorufuu to step out of the elevator, there was obviously no room for discussion. Once he did the doors would slide shut behind him, leaving him alone in the cavern to begin his tracking and assassination mission.

PostSubject: Re: Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Becoming Anonymous (Mission) EmptyWed 27 Jun 2012, 7:38 am

Etorufuu almost gasped as the man pulled free the mask from his face and committed the ultimate taboo for KYOBU by revealing his true face to one outside of the order. Anonymity was a constant need for these special operatives, for fear that even in the unlikely event in which a foreign spy infiltrated the village and managed to discover their identity while walking without their mask. Nay, only the ranks of KYOBU knew who was a part of the shadowy organization and even retired members who were notable due to their past with these masked teammates would never disclose what missions or duties they fulfilled in their time of service. Yet this man was showing his face to Etorufuu which hinted that the boy was to be fully accepted into their ranks. But at what price?

"Etorufuu Yuki, you are here because our Raikage has deemed you worthy to be. In you she sees someone who has the potential to be the best of the best. In you she sees someone whom she could one day trust with the lives of hundreds of people. On your shoulders she is placing the life of this village. You are here because she wills it. And because she wills it it will be up to me to see if you have what it takes and it will be up to me to make sure that you will be ready to hold such weight. Entorufuu Yuki, you will be ready when I'm through with you."

There it was, a training exercise was all that stood between him and his own mask. He let a smirk slip past his otherwise stoic face as he realized that there was nothing short of them striking him dead on the spot that would stop him. Adrenaline surged through his veins like a tidal wave and washed over him while threatening to cloud his judgement and control. The man before him covered his scarred face and singular eye behind the mask once again and became practically the same as his bodyguards, indistinguishable other than things like height and weight.

""Now then, Entorufuu Yuki, follow me. I will explain to you what you will need to do today to prove to me that you have what it takes to be one of us."

Finally, this was going to be his opportunity. Etorufuu was careful to remain silent as he stood and followed the captain and his bodyguard out of the room. His nerves ratcheted another level up as the click of the door occurred and he marched in formation with these men. They were like automatons, emotionless and eternally vigilant even while dealing with their own kind and villagers. Perfection in their stride, perfection in their breathing, and the tactical set up of their column as the walked through the hallways was exceedingly brilliant when it came to judging it based on its defensive capabilities. This was special, this was different.

The Yuki Chuunin could only nod as he listened, wondering why one would choose an interesting predicament over a quick and assured execution. This spy was a threat and had to be dealt with immediately yet a man as shrewd as the captain had some plans for this person. Personally Etorufuu would leave nothing to chance and simply slit their throat and leave them on display near the boarder of the Land of Lightning.

The ding of the elevator brought Etorufuu's thoughts back to his surroundings. Their marching had resulted in them standing in front of the metallic doors of a lift signaling its arrival behind them. As the doors opened and they filed into the cart it was not lost on Etorufuu that the building only had two stories and lacked any real need for an elevator that would take them to the next floor. The captain was gray but not quite so old as to require this contraption to move himself to different levels of the very facility he himself managed. As the descent began, it finally dawned on the recruit that they were not headed up but rather down in the mountains. Etorufuu was no stranger to caves, having spent an entire winter in one only a handful of months ago, and he knew how treacherous the terrain could be. Low ceilings, stalagmites and stalagtites, and naturally occurring underground rivers and waterfalls.

The doors opened to what looked like a natural labrynth and Etorufuu could not help wondering what he was doing here. A finger snakes into the pouch strapped to his leg and circled the iron hole at the base of a Kunai that was held within. This was an assault or an ambush, perhaps they were going to kill him now and that is why the captain had shown his face. They might outmatch him but the Yuki boy would be sure to do as much damage as he could before he died.

Well that explanation was far preferable to his original thoughts. But not by much. Spies were trained to keep their information absolutely secret. The amount of torture they must have inflicted on this person must have been considerable to obtain as much information about the spy as they had. And now he was tasked to fight this person in an environment that favored Etorufuu more than his target. This was getting mighty interesting.

The doors slid close after the warning was offered and Kumogakure's newest KYOBU agent exited the elevator. The Kunai he was fingering was slowly drawn and held inversely as he let his eyes take a moment and adjust to the dark. There were natural lights that permeated the seemingly solid walls, indicating that perhaps they were not as solid as they appeared and might be littered with several small holes that allowed fresh air and the occasional beam of light. Still, the darkness was overwhelmingly present and only allowed for a limited field of vision. Crouching down and grabbing a handful of soft soil, Etorufuu coated his blade in the slightly damp muck to keep it from catching a random beam of light and providing a glint that would give away his position. While crouched he could see a trail of blood leading down the most left of the paths and smiled.

A three hour head start, a wounded animal, traps, and a cave not so different from the one he had trained in. The spy getting loose was a concern, but not so concerning that it forced the ice shinobi to act blindly. Nay, he could move at a decent pace that would allow for observation and a lack of reckless behavior. Like a panther stalking his prey, he allowed himself to fade into the darkness and follow the trail of blood as best he could in the dim light.

Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Vide
PostSubject: Re: Becoming Anonymous (Mission) Becoming Anonymous (Mission) EmptyWed 27 Jun 2012, 8:26 am

The girl ran, moving as fast as her legs could carry her. She had been running for three hours straight, trying to navigate these tunnels but she knew it was a futile effort. Even if she did get out she knew that she couldn't go home. She had revealed her location and her secret abilities to the KYOBU captain. The thought made her cringe. She was sickened with her own failure but at the same time she tried to justify it. For the first time in three hours the girl stopped to take a breather. She had made several stops over the course of her time in these tunnels but all where done in an effort to place traps for the pursuer that the KYOBU captain had told her about. Though she had never seen his face she could have imagined an smug old man grinning behind the mask, watching the little girl dash into the tunnels. The odds were against her. This was nothing more than a game to these sick bastards.

She let herself lean against the wall, deciding to take a three minute breather. Truth be told, her injuries made it hard to run. She was missing the big toe on both her feet and only had her left arm remaining, her dominate arm being sliced off during the interrogation. Oh that Captain was the sickest of sick bastards. He had started with cutting off the tops of her fingers, working his way down and across, removing one section of one finger on the hour every hour. That was until she had no fingers remaining. He then started to cut her hand along the creases, rather than lobbing the entire limb off he removed it by sections, extracting each carpal bone individually. Though he never laughed, she imagined him laughing. The pain had been excruciating! He didn't stop there though. He then began to move up her arm with a bone saw, cutting up her arm every hour, moving only about 3-5 centimeters. They kept her alive and awake with drugs and treatment just so she could feel the pain. She had wanted to die but in the end she had managed to make it through. Hell, she had even made it through when the KYOBU surgeon ripped out her left eye. It was only when he started to go for her toes that she finally cracked. The 12 year old spy had been trained to withstand torture but she had never experienced it like this. The memories made her eyes sting with tears. She was disfigured and dishonored and now she'd die in these caves if she didn't keep moving.

That thought drove her forward, causing her to run again, doing her best to keep her balance. Even three hours after being released she still was having trouble moving her body, getting used to the new proportions. The lack of depth perception didn't help either. Some of her wounds had also reopened during her initial sprint and she felt herself starting to get dizzy. She hoped that her traps would catch whoever was chasing her off guard. She had set several trip wires rigged to hidden explosive tags on the ground and the walls. She had made shrapnel explosives by packing several senbon with explosive tags to allow the blast to distribute the projectiles. She had even managed to place several tags around many of the protruding spires that were pointed downward from the ceiling to the floor. The explosion would shake them loose, threatening to impale anyone stuck under them. Unfortunately she hadn't the energy or the time to place them on multiple branching points as she normally would have. Instead every trap served as a marker of her tail. She knew it wasn't the best but she figured that the traps had a good chance of taking care of whoever was pursuing her. It was dark in these caves and seeing the tags would be quite a feat in her book. In the end, she hoped it would all work out.

As the girl ran she began to envision how the scenario would go. Who ever was chasing her would first run into a series of trip wires that she had set up close to the ground. She had hoped that the darkness of the cave would conceal their position, but she had also been thorough, setting up a second wire within the "shadow" of the first, though the "shadow" was rather vague due to the cave having no definitive light source, rather the dim lanterns and glowing fungus created an ambient glow that played with the mind. If these wires were tripped there were several explosive tags that would go off. These tags were covered with mud and dirt, hiding their locations on the walls and the ground. Whoever managed to trip that wire would set off the explosives, causing a massive cave in that would crush them, if the explosives didn't kill them first.

After that, if the pursuer had survived the initial blast he'd find himself entering yet another veritable mine field as more trip wires were placed along the ground, once again in the darkest positions If those were tripped then another series of blasts would go off, causing several hanging spikes to drop from the ceiling, threatening to impale the pursuer. Whoever who was chasing her would have their work cut out for them.

The lanterns sporadically placed throughout the caves could have only been put up by KYOBU members specifically for this hunt. Their dim flickering created dancing shadows along the walls and allowed the caves to play tricks on the eyes if one was not careful enough. Etorufuu found them distracting rather than helpful, much preferring a total pitch black darkness to the dim yellow light of lamps as he carefully strode through the cavernous pathways before him with his bokken drawn in one hand with the kunai in the other at the ready. At this point during his trek he really doubted that this person would offer much resistance, hence the drawing a less than lethal weapon, in their current condition and the need for stealth was almost none. This spy was a cornered animal and quite dangerous, but if they moved as hastily as one in a panic might then they would be lost for days and no amount of a head start would bring them nearer the exit. That was if an exit to the mountainside actually existed as many caverns had one entrance and exit big enough for a person while winding through the mountains in a seemingly endless maze.

Etorufuu continued to follow the bloody trail, which lead him to some assumptions that may or may not have been correct. This amount of blood was ridiculous and if this person was indeed a spy and was tortured by KYOBU then it made sense that serious harm had been done to them over some period of time. These wounds would probably still be open and thus would lead him this gruesome trail that was pretty much unmistakable at this point to him. This person was dead or on their last legs, and their blood smeared behind them meant they were too tired to even bother cleaning up their path enough to possibly throw the Yuki boy from their exact trail. So with that information in his head, Etorufuu expected a corpse more than a fight but was prepared for more than what met the eye at a first glance.

Those glances spotted something out of the ordinary when the blood trail suddenly got much thicker and showed much more movement with little forward progression. His steps slowed to a stop and he crouched down on the balls of his feet to observe exactly why the blood spattering here seemed so much more concentrated than the normal trail that he had been following for the last few hundred meters. Another one, this made the third trap he had come across with a trip wire that he could only assume led to some trap just waiting for him to make the mistake and end up dead. Kunai in hand, the blade tip is shoved into the soil and connected to a single wire in his hand.

Hunters often came when their traps were triggered and what would be better than ensnaring the hunter in a trap themselves. A short distance was walked, near a clean and clear pool of water in the underground a safe distance away from the trap that had almost snared Etorufuu and he pulled the wire he was carrying to pull the kunai he had left behind through the tripwire. With a kaboom did several tags detonate in the cavern and send the sounds rumbling through the labyrinth and hopefully reaching the ears of the one who had set it in the first place. Of course, Etorufuu had to make the scene fit before the trapper made their way back to him.

A second kunai was drawn, driving the point into his thigh followed by his shoulder and then slashing across his chest. The moves were quick and the pain seemed to set in all at once , the wounds deep enough to look real at a glance without hindering him too much. Without much thought to his safety he leapt to the side and landed hard on the stony ground and waited patiently for the spy to come out of the caverns and try to find out who had been caught in their little trap. So he lay there, bleeding and seeming ever the corpse with his breaths controlled to give him the best appearance of a dead body. The spy had better watch themselves, Etorufuu was in a mood to kill and end this game to take his place as KYOBU.

Boom. The sound was familiar to the kunoichi. It was the sound of several explosive tags detonating and tearing through the cavern's walls. The kunoichi continued her trek forward, though her mind new fell back to her detonating trap. It didn't take a genius to envision what was happening. The series of explosions that had been triggered would have run up the side of the tunnel's walls, moving quickly to the roof over head. The destructive force of the explosions would have caused the most superficial layers of rock along both the walls and ceiling to come loose, detaching from the deeper layers and falling to the ground below. In the matter of seconds the tunnel's open passage became occluded as thousands of large rocks piled on top of one another. If anyone had set off the explosion and had managed to survive the initial blasts, they would have most likely been crushed and buried by the falling debris.

The girl felt a cruel smile spreading across her lips. It served her pursuers right. They had done such horrendous things to her while she was their prisoner and even now they had turned her into nothing more than a pawn in some sick cat and mouse game. Well this mouse was not defenseless and she was no fool. A part of her wanted to go back and admire her work while looking for any lucky survivors so she could quickly finish them off, but she knew the idea was a dumb one. She was not the one with the advantage, she was trying to escape. Going backwards would be counter intuitive to her goal. With that thought in mind the kunoichi pushed on, her pace never slowing.

The girl sighed lightly, some of the tension in her shoulders finally releasing as she started to feel a bit more at ease despite her rather precarious predicament. She didn't know how many pursuers were chasing her but at the very least she must have managed to catch one in that explosion. Any more would probably find themselves having to find an alternative route to catch her as the cave in that would have resulted from the explosion would have made the primary route useless. She was unsure of the layout of these tunnels, if tunnels were interconnected with one another but she was sure that no one would be coming the way she came. As she thought about this though she let her left hand drop down to the ninja pouch she had managed to strap to her leg. A quick flick of the wrist brought out several explosive tags. She'd make sure no one could follow her!

As she thought this she began to move toward the walls, her eyes examining the stone before she applied a few tags on the wall. Once the tags were stuck she began to channel chakra to her feet, climbing the wall with a bit of difficulty as she began to stick the tags along a jagged path up the wall and across the ceiling, only to have it come down the opposite wall in an equally jagged patter as the first wall. Once she had finished applying the tags she would take but a second to admire her work while also surveying the area to make sure no one had managed to sneak up on her. If the coast was clear she then would begin to run forward, away from her series of tags. There was no need to set a trip wire, this wasn't a trap. The girl brought her left hand up, using a one handed seal to activate the explosive tags; the last bit she had. Another explosion rang out within the tunnels as the girl sealed herself away from anyone who might be following her. If this was done correctly and without interference she'd take a moment to sigh in satisfaction, taking a three minute break to let her body rest. She had been losing quite a bit of blood and her vision was starting to grow blurry...
