| The day was perfect for a journey, albeit it a tad windy for dusty pathways leading out from the village gates. Luckily those too would end and it would simply be shinobi and the wilderness around them, with all the dangers that came with it. Survival. Now there was a concept that Etorufuu could thoroughly understand and appreciate. Survival culled the weak, accentuated the strong, drove one to succeed and utterly destroyed those unprepared to do whatever necessary to carve out their own lives with their bare hands. And here was a chuunin ready to once again step into that harsh reality to find himself and new strengths.
Of course this time he was not traveling to some cave to train alone, but setting up an impromptu interview with potential candidates for teammates. Those selected would be hand trained, hand bred, and taught everything that the Yuki boy knew and become the razor edge that Kumo needed to defend itself from threats foreign and otherwise. There was the girl who had a desire to explore so badly she would stumble blindly into the wilderness to find the answers she sought. The boy who did the work of his superiors to counteract their own laziness, and the strange one who had stumbled upon the paperwork boy and Etorufuu speaking. Secretly he hoped they all showed up if only to help determine which ones would be worth keeping in his unit and which ones best suited in another, less pressured team with more of the comforts they expected out of a romanticized shinobi life. Those too soft for real combat, those too unwilling to take certain steps, and those who lacked the strength to truly see things as they were had no place on a team with the future captain of Kumogakure's KYUBO ranks.
Etorufuu stopped his strolling down the dirt path and squatted down in a comfortable crouch as he watchedk the road for any signs of the others. The girl had followed him from the gates, both her and her hawk eager to see the world outside of the normalcy they had grown accustomed to. Something in his stomach told him that he might not be seeing some of the others whom he had invited on this trip but that was a personal decision that each of them had to make without his influence. He extended a finger, drawing in the dirt as he waited for a sign of life approaching. The girl had asked an important question but up until now it had been ignored.
"We're headed to Grass Country for a little scouting, training, and ally gaining. That being said, I expect you to keep your wits about you and remember that we are shinobi. I don't entirely know what to expect out so far from Lightning Coutry this time of year, but I can assume that we should be as observant and careful as always when it comes to out of village trips. We'll have to wait here a moment though, to see if others are coming with us."
