Ranton - Storm Release

Storm Release is an elemental release created by the simultaneous usage of the Lightning and Water elements. Using this combination of elemental chakra, a new type is formed. This Storm chakra can take multiple different forms with different traits. These traits can range from becoming a laser-like beam to forming dark electrical clouds. The beam form of the jutsu is the form with the most destructive potential. These beams of energy hit and explode with more force than typical lightning techniques, roughly equivalent to five explosive tags per beam. It also boasts the ability for the user to guide these beams to avoid allies while attacking, bypass shields and even attack from a wider variety of angles. The cloud based version of the release forms dark thunderstorm clouds with extremely focused electrical energy. While it does not possess the direct destructive energy or the option of absolutely precise attacks, these clouds can also be used as defenses, an escape tactic, and wide ranged attacks retaining quite a bit of killing potential.

Jutsu that utilize water and lightning at separate times but combine them are also considered Ranton release. An example would be forming a wall of water, then sending a powerful current of electricity through it while still having the water jutsu active. Both forms of the storm element can be adapted and varied in their own ways, making it a very adaptable element capable of destroying an opponent in many different ways.

History:

The Kobayashi Clan was once a part of the Lightning Country in the Village Hidden in the Clouds. It is not surprising, considering that their powers control the lightning and clouds surrounding the village itself. It is here that their abilities grew and became a thing of legend in their home village. Kumogakure grew in power until Iwagakure and Kumogakure fell into bad relations which eventually broke out into war. Tension and bad situations in Kumogakure caused the two branches of the Ranton Clan to move against each other. Vying for power, both of the clans attempted to outmaneuver each other to gain favor.

In a bad turn of events, the Kobayashi Clan was defeated by their counterparts and forced to leave the village as outcasts as the war began. In search of revenge, the clan moved to Iwagakure's aid, providing sensitive information in exchange for a position in the village. During the war, many Kobayashi fought against the people they had once called family. But throughout this time, the clan stayed loyal to itself and its new allies in Iwagakure. When the war finally ended, some Kobayashi members expected to be sent from this village as well, their usefulness against the Lightning gone. Instead, they were allowed to keep their position.

In the years after the war, Iwagakure proved to be a place that the clan could truly call home. The years passed and the once legendary clan in the Country of Lightning became a distant memory there and a typical part of society in a new place.

The number of beams produced is dependent on the chakra used.
