The Wait Is Over {C- Travel}

After a day’s travelling, the Katsumi trio finally made it to familiar ground. Familiar ground being Hi no Kuni; the Fire Country. Kimiko grinned to herself while they walked, admiring the trees and breathing in the beautiful pine-scented air. She missed being here so much, but not as much as she missed Hinamori Toshiro. With them being here in the Fire Country, they were only a couple of hours away from Konoha which only made her all the more excited to see the love of her life. She had shown no fear with her current outfit despite most of her wounds being not completely healed. The scratches and gashes on her legs had healed, but the marks were still quite clear. The puncture wound from the katana through her upper left arm was still bandaged quite heavily. Her hands were bandaged also, and she was still a little shaky at writing since not one, but both of her hands had sustained wounds. The slices out of her back were still healing and bandaged, and they were among the wounds that were going to scar. Luckily, the wounds on her face had only been minor and they had all healed very well. The only small difference was that her nose had been broken in the fight, but it wasn’t even noticeable from any distance. She was astonished at how well Abityo had patched her up, and she was eternally grateful to him. Her chest was always kept in bandages anyway due to… things, but it had been wrapped again because of the wounds sustained there that needed to heal.

Apart from rocking the ‘bandaged’ look, Kimiko was sporting a very unique kind of dress. She wore a cropped silken shirt (much like a kimono) that was hung loose on her right arm, but didn’t cover her left arm or left part of her chest at all. To keep that part decent, the bandages there played their part. Her well-toned flat stomach was on show, and the next piece of clothing she wore was a purple flower-patterned pleated skirt that matched the ribbon on her cropped shirt. Around her waist a strange-looking belt that consisted of silver metal hoops and black material hung lopsided on her hips. She also wore thigh-high black hold ups with a delicate lace patterning at the top of them, and on her feet were blue high-heeled sandals. Her long black hair was left loose apart from a blue headband with feather patterns on it, and her Konoha headband was tied around her upper left arm over the bandages. It was obvious that she was dressing to impress, and her father didn’t stop teasing her about it. Aya was a little bit oblivious and kept countering with the fact that her ‘Onee-tan’ looked very pretty.

As they neared the village, Kimiko started thinking about a plan of action. What was she actually going to do when she got to Konoha? She wasn’t expecting Toshiro to appear out of nowhere, and she would have to drop off all of her stuff at home for now until she spoke to Administration about getting herself an apartment. Hm… she would figure something out, and if not, everything usually worked out okay in the end anyway.

“There! The village gates!” Kimiko pointed out excitedly, setting off at an excitable run towards the big gates, laughing happily to herself as she went. Her father shouted at her to be careful, but she ignored him and continued to run. This was it, this was amazing, it truly was… home.
