Battle Missions [Forum Idea!]

As of now, missions are pretty unilateral. You get your friends, or perhaps even solo and RP out a situation. However, I have an idea for a concept I call a "Battle Mission".

These are missions with two conflicting objectives. The first poster has their pick of objectives, and then ANY other individual can pick the other objective. The two then attempt to complete their objective, subsequently thwarting the efforts of the other individual. The thread ends with one person successful, and the other defeated.

For example:

Mission Description: The Daimyo of a lesser village has insisted that he have a very expensive brand of chocolate delivered directly from Sugar Country to celebrate his daughter's 16th birthday. The chocolate shipment is in a single wagon headed for it's destination.
Mission Objective 1:
Act as the guard and protect the chocolate shipment from any hungry critters drawn in by the delicious smell of chocolate.
Mission Objective 2:
Ambush the wagon with the chocolate and steal the rare chocolate inside for a rivaling birthday party.

One person will take up the task of guarding the chocolate, while another attempts to steal the chocolate! If one individual is successful in repelling the attacker of the chocolate, they win! If the other is successful in stealing the chocolate, then they are the victor! As a result, the winner of the competition will be rewarded double the mission points, as this involves interaction between two individuals and most likely a post count higher than your average mission.

Likely rules would include:
- Must involve at least TWO different parties (one for each objective)
- The two parties cannot be from the same village (Kumo vs Konoha, MN vs Kumo, MN vs Konoha, MN vs MN)
- Equal numbers of people per party. (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) with no more than 3 people per party. Post order still established. (So no topics with an endless flow of people in and out. Missions are to be isolated incidences).

This way, 'fights' can be carried out with more than just the unilateral goal of killing/defeating the opponent. AN individual can win without ever touching his foe! It also allows for opposing sides new reasons to meet in the RP world and face off, as many of the big names of the canon narutoverse often did.

Great Idea! Might not want to do any more than 2 on 2. 6 people in a topic will lead to very longer intervals between posts and if a person goes inactive, five people will be left to twiddle their thumbs.

I'm , for the most part, liking this.

I personally like the idea and would definitely try it out, if it were to be used. However, I'm not so sure about doubling the points for the victor(s); surely the quality of the role-play is what gets people the 'points'? If you were to compare it to a social spar, the victor of the battle isn't necessarily the one who gains more points. It would be a bit odd if someone could write 150 illegible words per post with horrible grammar and still get their mission points doubled; other than that, I think it's a great idea.

This can already be done if members communicate with one another OOC and establish this type of mission beforehand. One can simply create their own mission following these standards, although the "double mission points" reward will not be given, for it is unfair to the losing member.
