Genin teams and plots...?

OK, I just got my character and account approved, and I am ready to start the RPGing. But, I have a few quick questions before I get started...

1: How do I join a genin team (I am a genin in Konoha)

2: How can I create plots for individual RPGing (Having my character do something on his own) & Group RPGing (Having my character do something with other members of Ultimate Shinobi)?

At this point in time we don't really have set teams going due to a inactivity on the part of the original team leaders and the soon-to-be-former Hokage. However our new one, Winged Blade, has already discussed restarting the teams using current chuunin. So it will be a bit but we'll get teams going eventually.

The second point, well that is by making topics! *fireworks exploding*
In all seriousness, that is how such things are done at least in my experience here. Just as an example, I've got my own character running one thread that sets him on the path to a confrontation with his sister and several threads have created a serious tie between him and Faithful Legacies character that are giving the admins bleeding eyes. Basically, craft the topic/ mission, talk to the people you get to join you (use of the RoleplaySeeking Button helps) to hash out the general outline, then write write and write some more.
