Letting out an annoyed groan, Kyousuu stood by the outer gates. His emerald green eyes were cast about, searching for something - or rather, someone - in this fairly unpopulated area. Though the gate guards had looked at him and seemed as though they would either say something or make some sort of gesture (whether friendly or unfriendly, he didn't care), the genin immediately decided to look away from them at all times to avoid any sort of direct confrontation unless it was necessary. If they were to speak to him and it was important, he'd be somewhat willing to listen, but otherwise he was hoping they would just leave him be. He already felt uncomfortable enough standing by the gates and didn't need anything to make it worse. Usually he made a habit to avoid them, mainly to keep himself from being tempted to even try to leave without permission, but he had a reason to be there. A good one at that.

Somehow he'd been instructed to join a man named Uzumaki Robin on a mission to save some Lord Fugato of Wave country, or something along those lines. It was a bad habit of his to pretend he was paying attention when his thoughts were really elsewhere, and as a result, he usually only had the basic information. This had been one of those times, so all he knew was that he'd be traveling to Wave country with a man he'd never really formally met. Well, he knew who Uzumaki Robin was, but not on a personal basis. The man had been Hokage, replaced by Ridori Mitsu - who just happened to be his squad leader - and though he knew that the man would know who he was, he was curious as to why the former Hokage would choose him to go on this mission. For one, it was quite a ways away from Konoha - in a different country - and this would be the brunette's first official mission.

With a low growl, he crossed his arms, weight focused on his left leg. For some reason he had decided to show up earlier than necessary to wait for the man, as though it made him any more important than the current Hokage. Kyousuu's views on the position weren't entirely unbiased, and as such it left him a tad bitter that he had to do this. Of course, he knew that, as an A-ranked mission, it would likely require some effort on his part and was likely to be dangerous, as typically only Jounin went on missions of this rank. That fact made him wonder how he'd even been allowed to tag along at all. If it really was a personal request of the Jounin, as Kyousuu suspected, he'd be even more suspicious. Not that he would have much opportunity to really dwell on it. "These crazy people want me killed, ki," he muttered to himself, "but I'm not about to let them have their fun."

Turning his attention back toward the village, he looked about for the supposedly characteristic red hair of the Uzumaki that he was supposed to possess, and hoped they'd be able to leave soon. The journey would probably mean conversation between them, something he wasn't quite looking forward to, but the sooner they could leave, the sooner they could get all of this over with. Kicking up some dirt, he thrust a finger into his hair and began to twirl it around a bit. Waiting on other people was always unpleasant, considering there were other things he would rather occupy himself, such as painting his nails. Unfortunately he had taken care of that the day before, so the color on his nails was still in perfect shape. He always took care to keep them clean and painted, and had been able to prevent them from becoming chipped or broken. They weren't very long, of course, but they weren't very short, either. Satisfied that he'd waited long enough, he turned on his heel and began to walk away from the village and the gates, much to the dismay of the gate guards. Not that he really cared what they thought.

The wind whipped at his clothes and hair, the feeling sending an ecstasy throughout his body of freedom. This had been his first official task not as Hokage and he was nervous to say the least. It had been a decade of rein that had been flipped on its head that forced his hand to take up a position as a follower, as a Jounin of the village he truly loved. He hadn't led a squad in even longer being the Hokage Aide prior - how it felt like an entire lifetime away. As was characteristic of the Uzumaki, Robin wore his combat attire of simplicity with his particular trench coat to encapsulate the rest of his figure. The trench coat took the bite out of the wind and allowed him to stay dry even in the heaviest of downpours but more importantly it covered his art; tattoos inked upon his figure from neck to toe but few knew them or got to see them. The genin whom he had taken special interest was of no exception to this rule, despite the power the child had.

Nine. The number of Bijuu that walked upon the very Earth at the present time. However only a few had been captured and sealed into either an object or a human, the latter resulting in a Jinchuuriki. Kyousuu Tanaka was of one of these specimens and of extreme importance to him and the Uzumaki Clan. Without his and countless of his cousins work, the boy would probably have never had ever seen the power let alone have it transpire within him. Robin was of direct relation to the child and this mission just so happened to be his gateway to seeing the fruit of success; but Robin would never allow the boy to know the relation until it was truly time. Instead, he would rather be viewed as the failed Hokage attempting to redeem himself, something he felt he had the necessary tools and freedoms to accomplish with.

The gates loomed before him, as beautiful and immaculate in the dawn of morning as any structure which he had ever seen prior. This was as much his village as it was the pair of guards defending its entrance, though their lack of attention was disturbing. He was travelling much faster than your standard ninja could sprint and so the early morning travelers of farmers and the odd shinobi or kunoichi sped by in a blur. He had the wind before him and his trusty air scooter below him, allowing for much more energy to be conserved. Robin was in no particular hurry other than to get to their destination to truly test his and the Jinchuuriki's mettle. To that notion, he had passed under the gates and had spied the genin walking from the gates with an air of depression. No doubt a direct result of being a vessel for the Yonbi and a target for bullies - this much was well known in all of the ninja world. Yet Robin was hoping to give the kid a friend, a mentor to better harness and strengthen his abilities as the Jinchuuriki. The kid was but a chest of secrets to be unlocked and Robin would find the key whether love, pain or something else, this was his true mission.

Robin lent to the right side of the air ball, turning it from the left side to the right side before spinning the thing in front of the boy and stopping before him. Their second encounter. Robin took a deep look at the boy, such striking features of a long sad face with a mane of long brown hair covering pale skin and even... is this boy wearing nailpolish? Robin thought before clearing his throat and beginning the formalities, 'What a pleasure it is to meet you Kyousuu Tanaka. Save the chit-chat, we have a long road to the Wave Country and I'd much sooner be on our way. Come on, before the sun turns you into a Kumo Ninja.' With that, Robin dismounted the air scooter and began walking shaking his head in a semi-jovial semi-shocked way at the nailpolish, yet he knew the boy would follow. Curiosity is always a killer.

Quote :
Name: Kūki no Sukūtā - Air Scooter
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Range: Close (0m)
Element: Fuuton
Description: Kūki no Sukūtā is a ninjutsu technique utilizing the wind element. After gathering enough chakra within both hands, the user will rotate their arms in a circular motion, creating a sphere of chakra before them, with the size roughly having a fifty centimetre diametre. Once the structure of the sphere has been created, the user will then place the ball before themselves on the ground where they must quickly hop onto the ball. Their hands must be kept on the ball at all times in order for the chakra supply to be maintained, the constant flow of chakra will allow the ball to rotate in such rapid speed that it's able to keep the user afloat. The Air Scooter is primarily used for travelling purposes, it's weak if used against a foe and has no defensive purposes. The ball of wind will move at around fifteen metres per second, which roughly translates to thirty miles per hour.
