I've recently gotten into this game series and have placed all the way through 2 and 3 over the summer (I tried 1. It was bad.). Now I play a lot online and I was just wondering if anyone else plays this series and might want to play with me. Also, I reserve this thread to discuss Mass Effect related stuff.

This topic is gonna have a mass effect on the forum.
Demo'd ME3 and played a bit with Ivan, didn't seem all that amazing honestly. It seemed alright to play, multiplayer at least, but it wasn't something I wanted to waste money on buying in the end.

I actually borrowed all three of the games for a friend and only bought the 3rd one because it was $20 new. Which is a good deal because if you don't buy it new you have to get a new online code just to play online (fuck EA).
The game is great because of the story more than the gameplay. I was really skeptical about it after playing the demo because I didn't know where I was or what I was doing, I was just shooting people. But actually playing through it made everything make sense and made everything much better!

The gameplay IS pretty basic, cover and shoot people just like every other 3rd person shooter. However Mass Effects forte and why it got popular is the story and the characters. It's amazing and really immersive, the choices you picked are shown throughtout the game. Even though some are minor it's still cool to see something that you did in ME 1 or 2 shown on ME 3. As for the rage about the ending, just the haters. They only see the mediocre ending and the absolutely amazing rest of the game, they just ignore it. To those who haven't played this game, they should, like now. Oh and don't forget to play all the single-player DLC, they really add to the story and more are coming. Possibly a 4th game might be in the making.

Don't knock Mass Effect 1, its honestly WAY better then the second, and to be honest, has the best story in the series for me. The gameplay does get better over each new game in the series, but like they say, its hard to top the original. I concur with Ivan, the dlc is quite entertaining, and because of this EA charges so much. if you have any third party resources, id highly suggest using them over paying the ludicrous fee's :p and if you haven't already, download the extended cut dlc for Mass Effect 3, it's a must. the ending seems kinda out of place without it (unless you believe in the indoctrination theory, which if I may say, is another interesting perspective on the game).

Played the second A LOT, and was really excited about the third, but then I heard about the ending(s).... isn't going to spend money on it.
The whole concept of mass effect is that your choices influence your gameplay, yet it seems that in the end all of your choices hardly matter at all. This is VERY unfortunate, but the storyline of the series in general is brilliant.
Even if the creaters wanted to show us that no matter what you do somethings just can't be avoided, which is totally acceptable in my mind and it is as much the "different" endings that bother me, but the way that they are shown. It feels like they didn't have enough time or motivation to make something .... good.
Saddening that the last few minutes of gameplay of a long and fantastic game serie will determin the way that many people think of the games. Sure each game had some flaws, but all games do. A few alterations of the last cut scenes and the third would be one of the best games of its kind ever.
All in all the game series must get a 8/10 grade, the last details in the last game lowered the overall grade by 1, but AWESOME games.

Mass Effect 3's ending made me rage. Especially since all the races and people you recruited are ultimately just numbers. All the ending shows are fucking humans! GRAAH! The best ending, in my opinion, is the one where you shoot the catalyst and everyone dies. It skips over all the fighting so that I don't have to cry myself to sleep when I watch it.

Played Mass Effect 2 and was loving it for a while, but the extremely repetitive, tedious gameplay eventually got in the way of the amazing story and I gave up.

You don't know good game when you see one . I played through Mass Effect 2 about 6 times and even now the gameplay doesn't feel tedious. When I fist got it, finished it in 2 days. It was that good. Sure now it does get a little bit boring but that's understandable, you can play the game only so many times before it eventually becomes boring. But hey, each to his own.

Ok granted the ending wasn't the most stellar one and they should have made a much better one but I don't believe it deserved such rage and diss from the players. I myself wasn't angry at all. Even though the ending itself felt a bit empty, the rest of the game was good enough to fill that gap and leave me very satisfied with what I saw and what I experienced from the beginning to end.
On another note, whom did you pick as a partner? Mine was Tali, she is just so cute and great, you just can't not love her. The accent, the personality, so adorable.

There must be. The same way there were achievements for the XBox. It's not that hard to implement them. What I would really like to know if the DLC will be included. I do have already all the DLC for ME2 and ME 3 but since ME1 never came on the PS3 it would be nice of Bioware and EA to include all the DLC.

Well they did give us 4 free DLC for Mass Effect 3. The 3 Multiplayer DLC each with more classes and weapons AND maps and the Extended Cut DLC.

Oh I wasn't aware, I heard they were making players pay for the extended ending which I easily believed because they've always been a shady company.

Go away Adam, nobody plays that crap. We talk about real games here, with a story that at least makes some kind of sense.

Yes. AC that is based on history makes no sense while a space game makes perfect sense.
