PostSubject: Clouds Roll By Clouds Roll By EmptyFri 12 Oct 2012, 11:36 pm

The sun sat low on the horizon. Mountains cast long shadows on the pathways that wound throughout the Village Hidden within Clouds. The figure of a 14 year old boy sat on one of the lower peaks. His hand hung upwards, slicing through the clouds as they went past. His hair billowed in the unusually strong winds and his crimson eyes stared blankly into the the white blanket above him. It's been four years now, hasn't it. I can't even tell anymore... The boy's hand fell, now resting on the cold stone on which the rest of his body sat. A singular black feather flew past him, and he cocked an eyebrow as his eyes tracked it. That's right, I was going to go find them... The boy closed his eyes and the blackness enveloped him.

With a start Arashi tore open his eyelids. The sun was now midway through the sky. He stood, but then almost immediately crouched again, near him was a figure, and upon identifying them as one around his age, Arashi jumped from the mountain, sliding down it using the tree climbing technique, not enough chakra to make him stick, but enough to keep his feet stuck to the ground. Soon he had hit the path, his body jerking to a stop but his mind continuing to race from the sudden awakening. Surely that action right there would have attracted this guy's attention.

The afternoon sun seemed obnoxiously hot today. The thought continued to repeat in the boy's mind as he made his way down one of the mountain paths, leading away from the village and toward the docks. It was about an hour's walk and Kaze had started just before noon so he still had quite a distance to go. A bored expression played on the young blonde boy's face as he stared ahead with half open hazel-brown hues. He had been sent on a simple errand to pick up some fish for Kirima's grandfather. Well, "sent" was the wrong word. The old man had mentioned something about needing some fresh fish but was complaining about the long walk. Kaze had taken it upon himself to bring the fish to the old guy. It was the least he could do after he had shown the young genin such kindness. Kaze had been staying at Kirima's house for a few days by now, still in a conflict with his parents, though the boy knew that he'd need to resolve it soon. It wasn't as though he could stay at another person's house for the rest of his life. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he glanced up at the sky littered by the occasional cloud. As the boy continued his trek, he didn't realize that he was being watched from one of the lower peaks. So when a figure suddenly dropped from the incline closest to the path, landing about 5 meters in front of Kaze, he quickly let his left hand dip down and take hold of the hilt of his kunai, pulling it out in one quick and fluid motion from the holster.

Kaze raised the kunai in front of his body, placing it between himself and this newcomer who looked to be around the young genin's age. Kaze's eyes studied the stranger, trying to glean any sort of information he could from the boy in an attempt to identify if the boy were friend or foe. Of course it was hard for Kaze to really tell at this point so he took a hesitant step back, ready to defend himself as several scenarios began to run through his mind. The path was narrow and one misstep could have proven to be fatal to either one of the two if a fight would indeed break out here and now.

"Who are you?"

Kaze's voice spoke with an almost authoritative tone. One must always be careful when strolling around outside the village walls. You never knew who'd attack and though the two were relatively close to the village, there was still always the risk of being attacked by bandits and missing ninja. Kaze just hoped that this stranger wasn't either one.

Arashi's face held a small smile as the other Boy raised a Kunai, the knife glinted in the hot sun, and Arashi almost burst out laughing when he heard the boy speak. It took all that Arashi had to suppress his entertainment to only a slight smile, but he did it.

"Who am I?" said the boy in a tone of mock innocence "Well let's see" he looked down at himself and examined his body, his black coat covered almost all of it up though. "Hmmmm, well since you asked first I must oblige. I am an entity seeking enjoyment from others who has seemingly found a small source of aforementioned enjoyment in another who walks these mountains paths. I come down to speak but, behold, the bo- excuse me, man demands that I give my name to him. I glance at him, and he seems to hold his weapon in the form of a threat yet at the same time he takes a step back as if he might leap back." he speaks in a grandiose manner which is obviously sarcasm, one could even estimate he didn't normally talk like that. Suddenly, in an icy serious tone he asks "What makes you think that you should ask me my name, when you yourself are uncertain."

From what he had said Arashi was content that the boy would be thoroughly confused about Arashi's intentions, allegiance, and even if he really was a boy, or man using henge. He also now decided not to speak much, as these bursts of speech would give off more information than he was willing to let go of.

Kaze lowered his kunai slightly as the boy spoke, and spoke, and spoke, and spoke....but never really saying anything of importance. Kaze was a bit of a motor mouth himself, often talking a lot, but the young boy always felt that what he said had meaning and purpose. This person seemed to just throw around words with no real meaning behind them. It irked the young boy. A small sigh passed between his lips as he lowered his weapon, though not holstering it. His eyes remained narrowed as they focused on the taller boy in front of him. This boy was over half a foot taller than Kaze and looked to outweigh the small boy by several pounds, but the young genin didn't seem too phased by the stranger's size. The pale complexion and crimson red eyes made Kaze think of an albino but the black hair atop the stranger's head stated otherwise. Growing both annoyed and bored of this stranger, the younger genin remained where he was, raising his kunai again so it was held in a defensive manor.

"Do you always speak like a moron? I said 'who are you'?!"

The boy's teeth gritted as he barked the question again. He wouldn't ask a third time. If this had been a simple encounter within the village, Kaze would have overlooked the odd introduction and even the fact that this other boy had appeared so suddenly before him, but this wasn't the village. This was outside the village where everyone was free game. It was dangerous for one to be outside of the village, even when making simple trips like this. Kaze wasn't about to take any chances and it annoyed him to no end that the man considered Kaze as a form of 'entertainment'. Resisting the urge to attack the boy right then and there, the young genin awaited for the stranger's response to his repeated question.

Even as he stood there, keeping his distance from the stranger, he began to think about what actions he might take if the stranger proved to be aggressive and hostile. Kaze didn't like the idea of fighting with so little room, but in a situation like this it couldn't be helped. At the very least, the stranger would have had trouble keeping his distance from the younger shinobi, meaning that if a fight did break out, Kaze would be at an advantage, always being close to his opponent.

The smile had long since faded from Arashi's face, the smaller boy that stood before him was pissed, and this didn't help to improve his mood. Though his grandiose way of speaking had distracted the younger boy enough that seemed adequately ticked. Arashi turned side-ways, the small boy was now given a profile of him that covered Arashi's left side. As he did this he slowly and carefully retracted his hand into his sleeve, reaching into one of the pouches under his cloak and on his armor. "Do I always speak like a moron?" he said glaring at the smaller boy "I do when it suits me" His fingers brushed a metal plate as they searched for the appropriate weapons. It seems I have forgotten to place my headband on my arm. This should be interesting. he withdrew 3 shuriken in betwixt his fingers, and a single kunai knife pressed against his index finger by his thumb. His hand returned to its last position, just barely hanging out of his sleeve and to the little boy out of view. He took advantage of the unusual wind gusting to seal his shuriken into his vambrace in case a battle broke out. This kid looked kinda aggresive now, and Arashi didn't wanna take any chances.

"As for who I am, I will not say" His crimson eyes regarded the undersized boy coldly, his voice dripped with venom.

Kaze felt his temper flaring as the boy once more eluded his questioning, now this time with more attitude as he shifted his stance only momentarily before turning back to face Kaze. Of course such a movement made the young genin suspicious. Was he just being overly dramatic or was there some hidden agenda to the sudden shift in posture. Of course there was no way for the young genin to know of the boy's hidden arsenal. At this point though, Kaze wasn't thinking about what this stranger could do but more about the area which this fight was about to take place in. The path was probably no more than 5 meters wide with the incline from the mountain on Kaze's left side (the stranger's right) and the drop off to Kaze's right side (stranger's left). Kaze stood closer to the incline, giving a healthy 3 meters to the drop while being located only 2 meters from the wall of the mountain. The path seemed to be a straight away for a good several meters both behind and ahead, meaning that if the two were to fight it would be akin to fighting on a bridge. Kaze wasn't entirely sure he liked the set up but given the circumstances the boy didn't think he had much choice. Whoever this stranger was in front of him, he seemed dangerous. The chances of the stranger being an ordinary civilian were slim, given his mode of entry onto the scene. Kaze couldn't seem to find a headband on the boy's body, which ruled out the possibility of him being a village shinobi and from the way he spoke, Kaze could only imagine that a missing ninja or a bandit would be so cagey when confronted by a village shinobi. If that was the case then surely Kaze needed to take care of the situation in as quick a manor as possible lest he be caught off guard.

Deciding not to take his chances, the young genin suddenly launched his kunai straight for the taller boy in front of him, aiming for his face, not bothering to wait to see if the attack connected or not, the young genin rushed forward, easily closing the 5 meters between the two before suddenly dropping down to the ground at the last second while letting his leg suddenly sweep out in a forward arc toward the stranger's feet in a chakra enhanced move that helped increase both the speed and strength of the simple taijutsu maneuver. The idea was to catch the stranger off guard with the kunai throw and take advantage of his attempt to dodge or defend by attacking his feet and knocking him off balance. By dropping to the ground he had hoped to eliminate the chance of a quick counter, dodging it by dropping low for the sweeping kick. As his leg swept across the ground, Kaze made sure to keep his eyes on his opponent by keeping his head rotating along the vertical axis of his neck. His right arm remaining poised and held at the ready to either follow up his first attack or to defend against any incoming blow while his left remained firmly planted on the ground to aid in both Kaze's balance and to serve as a push off point from the ground in case such evasive measures needed to be taken.

Arashi stood there, the boy in front of him getting more and more angry. Arashi regarded the smaller boy If I am in immediate need to dodge, there is a loose rock on the slope, and I think that I can stick to it like the way I came down.. He was slowly reaching for the blade on his back when suddenly the smaller boy in front of him launched his kunai and charged into battle. Arashi swayed to the right letting the Kunai roll past him before leaping into the air and onto the steep incline of the mountain, his feet stuck to it on instinct and he drew his sword. This was serious business now, this genin of Kumo attacking him. "Very violent today, aren't we" he said as his sword was out, he was prepared for another attack, but he threw the kunai at the Genin on the path anyway.

Kaze frowned as he felt his leg pass under the taller boy without connecting with his intended target. His eyes followed the stranger's form as he hopped up the wall, using his chakra to secure his position against the nearly vertical plane. Kaze however was quickly on his feet in the time that it took the stranger to draw his sword and taunt the short genin about how violent Kaze's reaction had been. The younger boy simply growled in anger as he glared up at the stranger, with narrowed hazel-brown hues. Who the hell was this person? Obviously he was no simple bandit, that was a ninja trick that he was using. Most bandits didn't have enough control over their chakra to be able to stick to walls in the manor that this stranger was. If this person wasn't a bandit, did it mean he was a missing ninja? Kaze could feel his muscles tensing slightly. Suddenly the stranger launched a kunai toward Kaze's location. The attack was easily dodged as Kaze let his left hand find its way behind his back, dipping into his pouch. As Kaze sidestepped the kunai attack, stepping toward his left side, toward the mountain wall. He suddenly brought his left arm forward in an upward and forward arc that allowed him to release a volley of three shuriken that sailed straight for the stranger's location. He didn't know who this person was, but he was proving to be rather annoying with his constant talking and taunting.

As Kaze released the volley of shuriken, his right hand dipped behind his back in much the same manor as his left hand had done just moments ago, yet rather than being withdrawn quickly, it remained behind his back, fussing with a kunai and explosive tag as he worked to roll the tag around the hilt of the kunai. If things got too serious then Kaze would need a way out, an explosion might prove to be the best course of action to create an exit route.

Arashi kept his face straight as he studied his opponent. His muscles tensed as he saw the blonde boy reach his left hand into his pouch, and just as he had let go of the small bladed weapons Arashi had leapt downwards and to the side. As he sailed through the air his blade cloaked itself in screaming blue lightning. Landing 5m in front of the boy, his visage highlighted by high contrasts of light and dark from the sword he held in his hand. As his feet touched the ground he propelled himself forward, more in air than touching the ground as he sprinted towards the small blonde boy. In a second he would have crossed about 7/12 of the way to his opponent with his blade. By now he expected his opponent to have readied for a close up attack,(even though his right hand had just reached into his pouch) at which point he leaped again, unsealing his shuriken and throwing them in an arc towards the smaller genin. He tensed his muscles, ready to follow up with another attack as soon as the boy was about to finish dealing with the throwing stars.

PostSubject: Re: Clouds Roll By Clouds Roll By EmptyWed 17 Oct 2012, 3:13 am

Kaze watched as his projectiles cut through the air, sailing toward the stranger in a rapid manor. Of course, the small boy hadn't expected to actually hit. Almost anyone trained in the shinobi arts possessed excellent reflexes that made dodging head on attacks, such as this volley of projectiles, almost second nature. As predicted the stranger had launched himself off the wall and in a downward trajectory that would have placed him on the mountain path once more, a mere five meters away from the young genin. Of course, for the young blonde haired genin, a simple glance was all he needed to predict the stranger's intended landing area. In that instance, Kaze's entire plan had shifted as his mind went into overdrive. The boy's hazel brown eyes narrowed slightly as his arms began to move in tandem, though both set to perform their own respective tasks.

Kaze's right arm was thrown forward in a horizontal arc that brought the hand forward and center. As the arm was swung forward the kunai that he had been holding was released, explosive tag still wrapped around the hilt. The kunai's path was a short one as it flew the five meters between Kaze's current position and the stranger's intended landing area in the blink of an eye, a split second before the stranger had managed to make contact with the earth. There it would lie motionless on the ground, tip sunken firmly in the dirt. After releasing the kunai, Kaze's right arm continued it's path toward Kaze's center where it met up with his left hand, immediately forming a single seal that caused the explosive tag wrapped around the kunai to detonate just as the stranger would have touched down on earth.

Kaze cringed slightly as the concussive force of the explosion expanded outward, reaching even as far back as to where Kaze stood, though by the the time it had reached the small boy, it felt like nothing more than a very strong gust of wind. Kaze, however didn't stand around doing nothing while waiting to see the results of his attack. Both his arms were in motion once more, both reaching behind his back and diving into the ninja pouch on his back as they fished around for more armaments. Once more his left hand plucked three shuriken from the pack while his right began the process of preparing another explosive kunai by rolling an explosive tag around the handle of the bladed weapon. Due to both of his hands remaining behind his back, it would be impossible for his opponent to see what it was that he was doing. Immediately the young boy began to pack peddle as he did this, putting more distance between himself and the site of the explosion, expanding the five meters into a solid ten. As the boy moved, his mind continued to move at a thousand miles a minute. The adrenaline in his system was flowing strong and showing no signs of letting up at this point. Of course, the boy had no intention of killing this opponent, not unless this stranger proved to be especially dangerous or hostile. At this point, the boy's goal was merely to disable the stranger in order to get some answers and to get past him so he could get to the docks.

Oh crap the thoughts rushed through Arashi's mind as a Kunai with a small piece of paper attachted to the back was sent flying towards his landing position. He brought his hands up, initiating Kawarmi just as he touched the ground, as the explosion began his body was replaced by the loose rock he had thought of earlier. He now sat high on the wall, his sword technique deactivated and his blade sheathed on his back. He quickly reached into his cloak, grabbing a smoke bomb before the dust from the explosion cleared. As the dust from the explosion cleared, Arashi sent a smokebomb Kaze-ward, it SHOULD be a surprise that he was not there in the explosion and that there was now a cloud of smoke around him. Arashi would take advantage of this, sprinting up the mountain and around through the passages, hoping the other Genin would not know where to pursue the older boy.

Kaze remained still as his eyes continued to search the area for any indication of the where the older boy's body may have been. The explosion wouldn't have been enough to kill the stranger by itself, but perhaps if he had been thrown off the edge of the cliff by the force of the explosion, he would have found it a bit harder to survive. Of course, Kaze's goal hadn't been to kill the stranger, merely to disable him. That said, Kaze wasn't too concerned if the stranger lived or died due to the fact that Kaze had no idea that this stranger was indeed one of his fellow villagers Now that the smoke from the explosion began to clear, Kaze's eyes widened in the realization that his opponent had managed to slip away from the attack, switching with a rock that was now nothing more than a pile of rubble due to the force of the explosion. The revelation brought a frustrated groan from the boy's throat as he quickly began to scan the area. The rock had to come from somewhere, right? Just as Kaze's eyes had settled on the tall figure perched on the cliff wall, he noticed smoke quickly filling his vision as a familiar exploding sound radiated from the area right in front of him.

"Smoke tactics!"

The boy thought bitterly as he quickly jumped to the side, his feet now finding their place against the cliff wall so that the two now stood on the same, nearly vertical, plain. Kaze's gaze hardened a bit more as he glared at the stranger, hands still hidden within the confines of his pouch. Kaze had been lucky, if the stranger had chosen to substitute with something that had been behind the boy, perhaps he would have caught Kaze by surprise. But that hadn't been the case due to the rock's original positioning being in front of Kaze's position. The boy mused to himself as he watched his opponent attempt to scurry away by running up the mountain. Once more Kaze let out a slightly annoyed sound as he clicked his tongue. Immediately the boy began to pursue the older child, his eyes narrowing with anger.

"Coward..."

Kaze muttered to himself as he quickly let loose the second explosive kunai he had been preparing by bringing his right hand in a forward horizontal arc. The small weapon would be sent on a straight path for the older boy's position once he had turned to begin his escape, thus being aimed at his blind backside. But rather than simply waiting for the kunai to potentially hit or miss its mark, Kaze quickly formed the hand seal that would detonate the explosive tag on the kunai once it had come within half a meter of the older boy. Not wanting to leave things entirely to chance this time, Kaze began his sprint forward after the coward, giving chase, despite the explosion taking place a mere second ago. As Kaze charged forward, he would bring his left hand forward, launching his three shuriken forward toward the small plume of smoke and dust created by his explosive tag's explosion. Kaze wasn't really a fan of the idea of having this coward run out on him without providing an explanation. The way he fought, it made Kaze more and more certain that he was a ninja, though a cowardly ninja at best. Needless to say, the young blonde haired child didn't approve of this stranger's tactics at all. Whoever he was, it seemed that he only knew how to do two things. Talk tough and turn tail and run. There was no pride in fighting such a pitiful opponent, but then again there was no reason to let him go without any sort of retribution for his disrespect, his stupidity and his cowardice. Kaze felt his desire to smash this person's face growing. The boy couldn't put into words how frustrating this taller boy was becoming. He was almost as slippery with his body as he was with his words, somehow managing to dodge every single attack that Kaze had levied against the youth. Yet the stranger didn't seem to have the guts to try and fight back, rather he played the part of the coward and was always on the run, something he'd have to eventually realize that wouldn't work against Kaze.

Arashi running as he heard the younger boy land on the plane they now shared. He stopped, pivoting on one foot to turn and face the young boy just as another Paper Bomb Kunai went sailing towards him For the love of he propelled himself backwards, but not enough to escape unscathed. He Leapt back again, quickly withdrawing a set of three paper bombs, which he placed on the ground before jumping back again. The explosion originally caused by the smaller boy had provided him a cover of falling rocks, and with his new trap set Arashi drew a Ninjato Kunai into his left hand. He waited expectantly, it hurt to be hit by such an explosion, but luckily he had not gotten the brunt of it, and because of his armor he would be able to continue the battle. Before he even saw the small genin through falling boulders he called out.

"Why do you pursue me?" It was a serious question. He honestly had not come down here preparing for a fight, but the young Genin had indeed attacked him, so he wanted to know the Blonde Boy's motive.

Through the debris he saw the small, quick body of the young genin. Arashi was about 10m from the young charging boy, and his explosives were 5 meters from both of them. He was wounded, but at the same time his training in speed allowed him to at least keep up with his uninjured opponent. A plan popped into his mind even as the pain throughout his body worsened. The clouds in his brain sparked with energy as they condensed in a snap second. Judging from the way the rocks were formed his explosions would create a series of larger boulder shrouded in dust, this would be his escape. He started running forward even as his right hand reached forward, coming into contact with his other. At this point, if Kaze had continued on his charge both of the he would be around 2 Meters from the explosives, while Arashi was around 2.5. Conditions met. he thought as he activated the explosives, creating a large cloud of dust surrounding falling boulders and rocks and pebbles. He leapt forward, leaving behind a clone to confuse his opponent as he entered the already fading concussive force of the explosion.

His Clone stood where he had been before the blast occurred, in a defensive position with a determined look on his face as if he knew that Kaze would emerge through his trap, and all he could do was take a stand and fight.

Arashi dropped through the air and into the cloud of dust were the explosion had just taken place, it was a light blast too both of them due to distance, so he expected that the younger genin would pass through the dust cloud. He continued to drop, connecting with a rock about the size of a large barrel. His feet hit first, and his knees bent, folding his form onto the rock, completing the action just barely within the time before he estimated Kaze would pass his position. At this point Arashi was on the other side of the boulder from the younger Genin, or if the younger genin had lept back, Arashi would still be invisible as he was shrouded in dust, and would be til he left the boulder of the boulder hit the ground. But even as he fell his mind went into overload, forcing his hand to let go of the rock, leaving on his feet attached to it with chakra as he withdrew a kunai. If Kaze had indeed passed through the cloud, which seemed more the younger Genin's style, then Arashi would be able to plant the kunai into the rock and leap forward onto the wall just in time to complete A Mid Range Ninjutsu to blindside his opponent. If Kaze had retreated from the explosion, then Arashi would be able to vault over the top of the rock and launch a surprise attack on the Smaller Genin with his two blades. If Kaze decided to use some kind of long ranged technique on the explosion site then the rock should protect Arashi long enough for him to leap to the "safety" of the wall.

As his mind completed the task allotted his conscious burst back into normal time, he decided that it sort of felt like jumping into cold water face first. A strange thought for mid battle.

PostSubject: Re: Clouds Roll By Clouds Roll By EmptyFri 26 Oct 2012, 12:46 am

Battle was chaotic by nature, one misstep, one missed detail could often time cause the tides of battle to change. It was odd how a single seemingly insignificant action could carry so much weight when it came to a life and death struggle. In Kaze's eyes, though his intention was not to kill, this was indeed a life or death struggle. Whoever this stranger was, he was potentially dangerous. The boy had no way of knowing that this boy whom he fought was truly a fellow ninja of Kumogakure. It was for this reason and this reason alone that the boy had attacked and it was for this reason alone that he used such drastic and even nearly fatal means to try and bring down his opponent. Such means, up until now, had been met with heavy resistance worthy of anyone who called themselves a ninja, village shinobi or otherwise, but his opponent had finally slipped up and made a mistake. Through the cloud of smoke, his opponent hadn't seen the three shuriken that Kaze had launched only seconds after the tag had detonated and as such failed to acknowledge and doge them. And so it was that his opponent managed to both back peddle from the explosion, not before taking a slight degree of concussive force, and plant his own explosives before posing his question.

"Why do you pursue me?"

It would seem, just as the boy finished speaking these words that he was met with three shuriken that instantly tore through the air and into his flesh into three separate yet distinct areas that would most likely bring this fight to a stand still. The first was the most devastating blow. The shuriken flew higher than its two brothers and as such it found itself on a direct course for the stranger's right eye, not only cutting deeply across the fleshy upper and lower lids but also embedding one of its blades deeply into the socket, damaging the ocular organ to a point of it being rendered useless. The damage was immense but not permanent if the stranger sought medical attention immediately, though he'd most likely forever bear the scar of such a wound for the rest of his life. The next shuriken flew slightly lower than the first and struck only milliseconds after the first had sunken into the boy's eyes. This shuriken would catch the boy at the corner of his mouth on the right side, cutting straight back in a straight line before freeing itself from the flesh, sputtering and falling to the path below after having carved a deep path along the side of the boy's face, disfiguring the ipsilateral side of the youth's face that the first shuriken had struck. Finally the last shuriken had somehow managed to dip significantly lower than the first two, this one finding its way toward the sub-petellar region of the boy's left leg. This shuriken would not only cut into but imbed itself into the rather superficial petellar tendon. The key point here was that with this injury, the youth would find his left knee to be in both a great deal of pain but also in a state of great instability as the damaged tendon would be unable to fully bear the opposing force caused by his quadriceps. This would ultimately result in the boy being unable keep his left leg fully extended and as a result his knee would most likely buckle causing him to stumble slightly, thus being unable to move with the speed he had been so used to. Suffice to say the end result would be a series of very painful injuries that would most likely arrest any further action from taking place for the next few seconds.

The boulders continued to tumble and fall toward the path below them, smoke clearing as the young blonde stopped his charge, a good four meters from the tags that had been placed. He hadn't paused due to the tags, but due to the question that had been posed. It had been the first thing this stranger had said that made sense to the short genin and so the boy, despite his anger, felt it deserved an answer. As he glared at his opponent, he noted the injuries that had been recently inflicted only seconds ago. A sympathetic expression passed by the boy's face before he forced his features to harden into a cold and apathetic stare. He couldn't feel bad for his enemy! This person was dangerous. Or was...now he looked as though fighting would be an impossibility, or at least the level at which he fought at would not be the same. He was now injured to the point where he was as good as handicapped in Kaze's eyes.

"Why do I pursue you? From the way you approached me by sliding down this mountain in the manor that you did, and from the armor you wear and the weapons you carry, it is obvious you are no ordinary civilian. From the way you fight, I can be fairly sure you are not an ordinary bandit. In fact, you fight very much like a shinobi. If you are truly a shinobi then either you are a village ninja or a missing ninja. A village ninja would not be so stupid as to not wear his headband in clear view."

As the boy spoke the last sentence he made a slight motion to his own left arm, showing the stranger his own headband that bore the insignia of Kumogakure.

"And if you were truly a village ninja, you surely wouldn't have been so stupid as to cop an attitude and refuse to identify yourself when outside the village walls when addressed by another village shinobi. So that leads me to believe that you must be a missing ninja. If that is the case, then you are either a former missing ninja from Kumogakure or you are from another land. Either way, it is my duty to stop you."

With that the facts were all laid out in a way that the young blonde shinobi could only hope that his enemy understood. The boy stood there now, his eyes never leaving his opponent's form, yet managing to catch sight of the explosive tag that lay in his path, a good 4 meters away from Kaze's current position and around 5 meters from his opponent. For now it would seem the battle had come to a momentary pause. Kaze felt the urge to attack rising but did well to keep himself under control. He wished to hear his opponent's retort, yet at the same time he remained prepared, having drawn a kunai sometime during his speech just incase he hadn't been allowed to finish talking. Needless to say, any hope the older boy had of hopping around to falling boulders and launching surprise attacks had been foiled due to the three shuriken that had inflicted such debilitating injuries.

"Come with me peacefully to my village and I promise that I won't take your life."

The boy stated with authority as he pointed his kunai out toward the injured stranger. Kaze had no desire to continue fighting with his opponent in such a state. Kaze had no desire to take another life, especially one who was so young. He would leave it up for the authorities to decide what this boy's fate would be.

Arashi stood, halfway through his sentence he saw the blades flying out of the smoke cloud. He barely had enough time to bring up his arms to take the brunt of the shuriken attack, the first of the metal stars embedding itself into his wrist, making it his hand practically useless. The second allowed him no time as it entered his forearm with a sickening shick. He had just finished his sentence as the third implanted itself in his knee, immediately causing him to crouch on the wall to keep his balance. As the small boy responded to his question he brought his trembling right arm down and cradled it with is uninjured brother. The ninja stars had pretty much disabled his arm, and he would not be able to keep up with the other genin's speed with his knee in such a bad shape. He looked up, the other boy had just finished his speech on how he had come about Arashi's Identity. It was wrong, just plain wrong. So, after the boy was quite done with his facts, Arashi spoke,

"Oh, so you see I am able to do things a normal bandit could not, and automatically assume that it is because I am some sort of Shinobi, well that is a good assumption, but then you attempted to classify me. As you seem to have only two types of shinobi, those who work for a village, or those who have illegally left it, you decide to mark me as a missing Nin. Did it ever occur to you that I am a Ninja free of any village, trained by people not of a Hidden Village? It seems it did not." at this point Arashi withdrew his headband, allowing it to dangle from his hand and show his allegiance. "All I wanted to do was converse to a stranger, but you asked me my identity, I refused in a round about way, so you saw fit to attack me, then to continue to attack me. I do not like to attack fellow Kumogakure Shinobi, so I did my best to not use anything that I knew a genin would be unable to dodge, but you begin to use lethal force with explosive tags. Is that it for you, have you had enough of attacking other people? Because I'm leaving" he began to limp down and around the mountain, walking down to the path using mostly chakra. Next time you should fight back said the voice of reason You should have identified yourself in the first place. it continued. Fuck you was all Arashi had to say on the matter.

Standing there, listening to the stranger's speech, Kaze felt nothing but apathy. The stranger tried to point out the flaw in Kaze's thinking, but truly, the boy saw no flaw. The blonde haired youth simply stared with a cold hard gaze at the injured stranger before him. Whoever this boy was, he had been the one at fault, not Kaze. And he had payed for it with his eye and his cheek and his knee that Kaze's shuriken had managed to damage. None of the damage was permanent, granted that he sought immediate medical attention from the village hospital. This was something that apparently was very feasible for the stranger as he claimed he was part of Kumogakure. At the end of the day, if the stranger had chosen the path of recovery, he'd have his sight back and the use of his knee and his cheek would be healed, but there was a good chance that he'd forever bear the scars of this encounter on his face, both his right cheek and right eye were seriously damaged. The boy, however continued to speak through the pain, trying to lecture Kaze while at the same time claiming that he had held back against the boy. The idea made Kaze's brow lift slightly in frustration. Should Kaze be thankful that this stranger had held back? The fight had been his fault to begin with. Kaze was just doing what he had been trained to do. Now the boy was beginning to walk away, and all Kaze could do was allow his body to drop from the cliff wall and onto the path below before letting out a light scoff.

"If you had half a brain you would have realized the importance of identifying yourself properly. At any time in the fight you could have pulled out your headband but you stubbornly insisted on carrying this fight out. I'm not the one at fault here. And as for you holding back, I seriously doubt there is anything you could have thrown in my direction that I couldn't handle. And if I'm not mistaken, you were planning to use explosives of your own had I not stopped to answer your question."

As Kaze spoke of the explosives he motioned toward the tags that remained stuck to the wall. The genin continued to stand there, kunai in hand as he watched the figure of his opponent limp away. It didn't matter to the blonde haired youth what this stranger said. He knew that the older boy would try to paint a picture both to himself and anyone willing to listen that Kaze was the offender here, but Kaze wasn't about to feel guilty for this fight. It was all avoidable and it all had hinged on how the stranger had approached the situation. With a small sigh, the blonde haired boy kept an eye on the stranger's form, more so out of slight concern for his well being than out of caution. He wanted to make sure the older boy could manage without any help. Once he was satisfied Kaze quickly went on his way toward the docks, still aiming to buy some fish for Kirima's grandfather.

As Kaze broke into a light job he began to replay the events in his mind. Analyzing both the fight and his actions. Had he been a bit too hasty? The question was a valid one, but given the circumstances, one couldn't really be too careful when dealing with potentially dangerous people. Had the taller boy identified himself immediately, Kaze wouldn't have attacked. Had the stranger pulled out that headband earlier during the course of the fight, then he could have walked away with both eyes intact rather than limp away in the sorry state that he was in. In the end, Kaze supposed it was no real skin off his back, though he did wonder if he might get in trouble with the higher ups if this older boy reported that he had been attacked by a fellow village shinobi. Kaze had solid reasons for doing what he did and the fact that the older boy was still alive spoke volumes about Kaze's intentions. If Kaze had wanted him dead, he would have continued his assault regardless of knowing if the child was from Kumo or not. The boy sighed lightly as he managed to reach the docks. Thinking about all this was giving him a headache. For now he supposed that none of this could be helped anymore. What happened had happened...

Note:

I'm sorry but those hits happened the way I described them. I told you in the Cbox that they were non-negotiable. You can't defend against attacks that already connected.
