| Standing in his kitchen Yoru looked down at the scroll that was rolled out on his table. After days of translating it Yoru finally figured out where the animal contract was located. Not far from the Fire Temple from what Yoru could figure out there was an area that a special kind of animal was located. Not one to miss out on creatures very few people know about Yoru had packed and was ready to take the trip to find these creatures. Slinging the pack onto his back Yoru looked around his apartment to be sure there was nothing left that he would need. Speaking to the spirit that haunted his room."I am taking off I wont be back for a few days. Be sure to watch over everything ok?" Nodding to Yoru and waving him off."Yea yea just hurry up and get back." With that Yoru closed the door and locked it behind him.
Stepping onto the streets Yoru made his way to the Hyuuga Estate. He had said he would take Yomi with him so he might as well head to her home and get her. As he got closer to the building he could feel the tell tale signs of the spirits that haunt the estate. "I dont think I will ever get used to being around this place." As he approached the gates to the estate Yoru noticed that the same guards as the last time he was here were standing guard. Even though it was tempting Yoru decided not to mess with them. As they took notice of him Yoru spoke up."Yamamoto Yoru here to get Yomi-sama."nodding to him one of the guards went in to get her while the other stood and watched Yoru as if he was about to do something incredibly stupid and dangerous. Reaching into his pouch your drew out a map that planeed out the trip.
"A few days of walking and we will arrive in the place called..." Pulling out a reference book of areas. In the area that the map was pointing was Jofuku Forest. Chuckling to himself he read of the supposed haunting of the area."Well isnt that just great. A pshycic going to a haunted place." Shaking his head Yoru waited for his ward. |

| Yomi was in her room, packing her things, the hyuugan women helping her gather her things. The kept giggling and trying to get her to wear more appealing wear, dresses, skirts, and so on, instead of her usual wear. Yomi however was not amused with their antics. She was set on wearing her usual outfit and that was that. So when clothes couldn't be a topic of change, they insisted on her hair and maybe some makeup. That was where Yomi would really draw the line though. She hated the idea of wearing makeup and her hair was fine as it was. After all, the were going on an outing into the woods, not some fancy dinner or formal engagement where she would need it. Once the women became too much for Yomi to bare, she dismissed them to finish her packing by herself. Such annoyances. she thought to herself as she gathered the rest of her things that she would have needed for her trip.
As Yomi was finishing packing, she heard a knock at her door. She rushed over and opened a crack. She expected to find the women there, however this was not the case. It was one of the front guards, who had gone to let her know that Yoru had arrived. With a slight panic she rushed over and stuffed the last remaining items into her sack and ran to the door for the guard to escort her to the front gate. As they walked out of her house and towards the gate, Yomi could not help but feel a bit excited. She barely was able to leave the estate, so an outing that could take them to parts of the forest outside of the village was a real treat. She would get to embark on her first little adventure as a ninja and with a friend to boot.
Before they even arrived at the gate, Yomi could see Yoru standing there. Caught up in her excitement she rushed a head of the guard towards the gate. The guard ran after her, not to stop her but just remain close. She came to a stop at the gate and smiled and said. "Sorry I'm a bit late. The hyuugan women were being a bit of a nuisance while I was trying to pack. That aside though I'm all set and ready, so we can leave if everything is set." She happily smiled, her excitement growing more and more at the idea that they would be going on a little adventure. |

| Seeing the girl in a disheavled state made Yoru chuckle."Your not late so its fine." Closing his book and stashing it in his weapons pack he nodded to the guards."Well I guess we should be off then." With a smile Yoru began walking to the village gates. Though they had sparred against each other and had a very nice dinner Yoru was still having issues finding things to say. In fact he couldnt say anything to her since nothing came to mind. However when they reached the gates it finally came to him."So since you have yet to ask me I will tell you anyways. We are going to Jofuku Forest. A couple days walk there spend maybe a day or two in those haunted woods then head back. All in all we should be gone a week."
It was then that he realized something, he was going to be alone with the heiress of a clan for a whole week. The clan part didnt even register actually all that went through his mind were three simple words."ALONE.....FEMALE....YOMI!!!!" His face turned so red it almost seemed he would enter a heat stroke. Yet he kept his composure, Pulling out his map Yoru attempted to focus more on it then the three words that kept echoing through his mind. Clearing his through he continued,"What I found in my scroll is that located in Jofuku Forest is a family of Foxes. It says that if the person can prove themselves worthy to the queen of all foxes then you will be granted the contract."
Looking over at Yomi the words started screaming through his head."So that is why I decided to gather up information on foxes. So I gathered as much of their favorite foods as I can." Motioning to his bag Yoru then slipped the map back into his weapons pouch and started heading off. All the while still trying to ignore the voice in his head that was screaming the three evil words. |

| As they walked to the gate, Yomi couldn't help but space off a bit. She wondered just what their trip would be life, how long it would take, what her uncle and the others would think or wonder? Though she really should be asking the questions, instead of thinking about them. Once they arrived at the gate, she decided maybe she should ask, though Yoru would beat her to the punch and explain the details of their journey. She listed closely to what he had to say, which just gave her more to think about. She blushed a deep red as the thought set in. A week away and alone, with Yoru. Following with what the elders would think of such a thing as it came to pass. Though she would quickly indulge that thought with the fact that such things would be common when she was on missions for the village. Though the other detail that plagued her mind is the hunted forest by the name of Jofuku Forest. She didn't know much about haunted places, if really anything. Though it wasn't herself that she was worried about, but Yoru. He told her that he had an ability that allowed him to talk to ghosts, see pats of the past and future, and that kind of stuff. She wondered what kind of effect such a place would have on him.
The brief moment of silence between them, while they were both caught up in their thoughts, was broken when Yoru decided to bring up the next set of details about their trip, why they were making such a journey, foxes. Yomi didn't know anything about foxes, nor did she have any chance to study up on them or prepare anything for them. Luckily she had plenty of other things for their journey to help them along, while Yoru had allthe stuff to handle the foxes. She smiled and looked out towards the dirt road that would take them outside the village and onto their journey. "Foxes you say, and a summoning contract. This is far more interesting for a little outing than I had predicted. I'm sure it will be one to remember." She checked her pack to make sure it was all together, so that she wouldn't lose anything along the way. Once everything checked out she turned to her friendly companion and said. "Well we have a long trip a head of us, so let's get moving." She waited for Yoru to take the lad, as he had the map and knew the way. |

| Nodding Yoru began to make his way down the dirt road. From what Yoru was to understand of Jofuku Forest it was supposedly haunted. Though that thought was quickly pushed down when he learned that Foxes liked to pull pranks on people. Most likely it was people that got tricked by foxes that started the whole rumor. They would end up finding out when they got there. After walking for an hour Yoru turned to his companion."So Hyuuga-sama. What do the elders think of you leaving the village for a week?"
Though he had many thoughts as to what they were thinking he was fairly sure that she had quite a few ideas on what they were thinking. Not that it mattered to him what they thought of him it really mattered what they thought of her. "Maybe if I get the chance I will beat those hyuugas for all of the torment they put her through." Though he knew that that wasn't going to happen. That would cause to much trouble in the village and he would lose a lot of friends in high places not just the spirit realm.
As they climbed a rather large hill they came upon the site of a large valley."Amazing what nature does." He said out loud. Now walking down the hill into the valley Yoru began to wonder."How far has she been from the village. Considering her age and the fact she is an heiress probably not far." Now thinking that would be a good conversation piece Yoru turned to her and ask."How far have you been from the village?" |

| As they walked down the dirt road towards their destination, Yomi looked around and took in the scenery. The birds, the trees, the warm sunny sky, the whispering wind that calmly flowed thorough their surroundings. She enjoyed every moment of it, the freedom it brought her to explore the outside world. They traveled forward towards their destination for an hour without speaking, which was fine for Yomi, for she never stopped taking in everything around her. Though that was soon to change when the silence became tiresome for her companion. Yomi would quickly break away from her obsessive taking in of the surroundings to the sound of the friendly voice of voice. She laughed a little and walked a head of him, twirling about and saying. "Well, that's very easy to answer. They don't know. The elders have no idea that I'm going to be gone for a week, because I didn't tell them anything. My uncle gave me the ok to go and not even he knows how long I will be gone for, or even where we are going." With that she spun back around and continued walking on, leaving the explanation as that.
The two would remain silent for a little while after that. Yomi wondered if it was because of what she had said or not. If she had worried Yoru with the fact that the entire Hyuuga clan would be restless and possibly even searching for her, just after a day of their trip, due to the lack of information they had about her. The be fair she really didn't have any information about their little adventure prior to that day herself, but that excuse wouldn't hold up in front of the elders once she got back, or they found her, whichever happened first. She certainly hoped for the first choice of the two, but only time would tell. For all she knew, they might not even come after her. Regardless of what happened, Yomi was determined to see their trip to Jofuku Forest,no matter what. She would even run away from her clan if they showed up.
The two in their travels were bound to meet many obstacles and here stood one now, a rather large hill, though not very challenging, it was certainly different from the level dirt road they had been traveling on for a while now. What was over the hill though could be let another, far more dangerous or challenging obstacle. Despite this, Yomi was excited and curious as to what awaited them on the other side. Her excitement would be just as they climbed the hill to be engulfed by a view of a magnificent large valley. Her eyes could only widen in amazement at the sight of the valley. "Oh WOW!" she burst out loud, Yoru sharing a similar feeling from the sight, though a tad less excited then the girl's. Perhaps he had seen some of the wonders of the outer world, but for Yomi, this was her first. Her reaction must have seemed pretty explosive to Yoru, for he asked her how far she had ventured from the village before. Though he could have just been curious and wanted to start up some more conversation. She blushed a bit, a little embarrassed of what her answer would be. "Uh..well you see. This is kind of the first time I have actually left the village. The elders would never let me leave the village before this. Always told me that it was always too dangerous, with enemy ninja and such." She turned away a bit, to hide her embarrassment and quickly changed the topic. "Come, we can't spend all day watching over this valley." |

| Smiling at Yomi as she started heading down the hill Yoru couldn't help but think.[color=darked]"She is so cute."]/color] Even though he was walking in his mind Yoru had stopped mid step. Repeating over in his mind what he had just thought Yoru began to turn bright red. The problem with Yoru is that he never really had any friends so he was constantly confused on what someone should feel towards a friend. Yet he was sure that over time he would get it as time will go by.
As the reached the bottom of the hill Yoru felt better since a valley meant no large hills. Which also meant no overused energy. Looking up at the sky Yoru wished they had started earlier in the day."I guess mid-day was not a good time to start a trip." Yet he still continued to head towards their destination. "I wonder if the elders will send an army of Hyuuga after us." Chuckling at his statement he looked over at her."Would cause some trouble with our little trip."
As they approached the end of the valley it came to a path with cliffs on either side. Heading down the path he turned to Yomi."When we get past this path we will break for the night." Yoru had never really liked walking through areas such as this. It was to much of a bottle neck yet this was the only way to get to the forest. As they reached the half way mark of the pass Yoru was finally assaulted with a vision. One that brought him to the ground in seconds flat.
As Yoru and Yomi walked towards the forest Yoru could not help but fell that they were being watched. It was only a slight nagging feeling at first but it slowly got worse as they went along. Turning to Yomi he suggested."Maybe you should take a quick look around with your byakugan." Even before she was able to activate it they jumped out. Moving so quickly they took Yomi and had her bound. Yoru however was able to fight them off for a while since he felt them before they attacked. Killing two bandits with a kunai he was taken shortly after. Now kneeling before a large man both Yoru and Yomi looked upon him."Well... It seems we caught a couple shinobi off guard. My guess is Genin." Moving close he inspected Yomi."This is a pretty one. I think we will keep her.I am sure we can have all sorts of fun with her."All of the men laughed and cheered. Now moving over to Yoru he looked into his eyes."Well as I live and breath...." The bandit chiefs smile went wide facing his subordinates."Boys! Your remember that time I told you about the woman that got away with her child?" Turning to Yoru again."This is the kid. Grown up and a ninja." Getting real close to Yoru's face he could smell his foul breath."Seems I get to right a wrong." Placing one of Yoru's kunai under his throat he pulled hard and sliced it open. Unable to breath or speak the blood flowed from his throat. Looking over at Yomi in terror as he fell to the ground he had nothing but an apology in his eyes. He had failed to protect her, whatever was going to happen to her next he could not stop. With that his eyes finally faded from their bright vibrant red to a normal simple black.
Snapping awake from where he laid on the ground Yoru looked around as if ready for anything. As well as to kill the first thing that wasn't supposed to be there. Yet he saw nothing except Yomi. Touching his neck he felt not cut, no blood, he had not died. |

| Yomi made sure to keep her mind about her as they traveled down the hill to the narrow pass. It wasn't that she thought it would be dangerous or anything, just that if she didn't watch herself, she could fall and possibly hurt herself, which would be problematic to their journey. Things eased up as they reached the path, and being so, conversation sparked up, which Yomi didn't mind. She enjoyed talking to Yoru, though his choice of topic wasn't overly appealing. He mentioned that they would stop for the night once they made it through the path, which Yomi was fine with. They did start their travels a bit later in the day then she had hoped, but an easy day wasn't something she would complain about. As he mentioned the hyuuga elders she got a little defensive, as if they actually did come for her.
"Even if they did send an army after us, I wouldn't let them take me back. This trip is the first time I've been able to travel outside of the village and I plan on seeing it through to the end."
As they reached the end of the narrow passage Yoru started to slow down a bit. Yomi, concerned as to why, looked over to ask him why. It was then that he collapsed to the ground. Caught off guard and worried, she rushed over and knelt down besides him. He didn't look hurt or anything, which just worried her more. She shook him a little and tried to get him to wake up. "Yoru! Yoru! Can you hear me?!" She waited by his side until he regained consciousness, and was relieved when he did. Though the look on his face was a bit startled,as if he was afraid or wary of something. She looked around them and saw nothing and then looked back at him. She noticed him touching his neck. She slowly and gentle set her hand on his, moving it aside to look at his neck herself. She saw nothing wrong with it and gave out a sigh of relief. She offered to help him up and said. "Are you ok? You had me worried." |

| Looking up at Yomi right into her eyes he was confused for a second."Worried why was she worried about me." He thought, however it slowly came to him what had just happened. He had a vision of the future. He had never had a vivid one such as the one he had just then. Thinking over what he saw he took Yomi's hand and stood up."Yea I am fine. Just never had that powerful of a vision." Should he tell her? Should he keep it to himself? So many questions he had in his head yet no time to think them over."Lets go it will be dark soon." With that he made his way out of the passage.
Now in wide open areas Yoru stretched out and looked at the setting sun. From what he could tell it was going to be a very calm night. Still walking along Yoru was thinking over his vision."So they come from certain areas. However if we just wait for them to come we will be over run. This is my only chance to get revenge. What to do what to do." As they reached a grouping of trees Yoru motioned over to it.
"I think we should stop here. Trees will give a good defense against possible bandits if there are any in the area." Walking into the trees Yoru found a clearing and began setting up the camp. Looking over at Yomi he wondered if she ever went camping. Though he was sure he would see how she would do. After he had the tent set up Yoru began walking the perimeter setting alerts in case if someone started walking towards them."I will not be caught off guard."
As night set Yoru had a fire build and was now cooking a simple meal for him and his companion. Looking over at Yomi he had a feeling she probably had questions about what happened earlier in the day. The only thing that was on Yoru's mind was how to win the fight against all of the bandits. Would Yomi question him or let it go? "So Hyuuga-sama. Seeing as how I know everything about you I am sure you would like to know a few things about me." Looking up at her he waited for any questions that will come. Also finishing the food he handed her a simple bowel of veggies and meat. After she took it he prepared himself a bowel and ate slowly. |

| Yomi war relieved that Yoru was fine, or at least he appeared to be. With that she followed him out of the passage and towards the woods. They had managed to gain some good ground for starting late in the day. If they got an early start the next day, it would probably make up for the time they lost. As they entered the woods, they looked about for a clearing to set up camp. This would be the girls first night sleeping out in the wilds. It had her a little nervous, since she had no experience, but she knew she would be fine with Yoru taking charge. He had the experience that she didn't and she would just have to obtain as much experience from him as possible, so she would be able to do such things again in the future.
As they found a clearing and started setting up camp, Yomi would look over towards Yoru every once and a while. After his nasty spill from his vision earlier, she figured she would keep a close eye on him. If it happened again and something happened to him, they would be in a lot of trouble. Yomi was a smart girl, but she did not know how to take care of herself and him if something were to happen. With the tent set up, she watched as Yoru went off to set up a perimeter around the camp site. Already he had done so much more then she had for them. All she managed to do was get some branches to light the fire and set up their things to eat later. She really began to wonder if she was really all to useful out in the wilderness. If she wasn't just becoming a burden. Her thoughts and worries aside, night was approaching soon and she had to get something else done. She gathered their things, other than what they were using, so that in the morning they had less to prep before re-embarking on their journey. She then gathered a few more piece of wood that were nearby for the fire.
As she was finishing up, Yoru had returned from walking the perimeter. With the night sky now creeping over them, and the temperature starting to drop a bit with it, Yoru would start a fire and start cooking. They both remained silent for a bit, both lost in thought. Yomi wondered a bit what was on Yoru's mind. His silence made her a bit uneasy, since they barely talked at all since the incident at the passageway. She wanted to spark up some conversation, but didn't know where to start. Usually she didn't even have to worry about stirring conversation with Yoru, since he always was the one who seemed to scramble for his words and break the silence. She bit on her thumb a bit and looked over at him. As she did though she found Yoru looking at her, which spooked her a bit and caused her to bit just a little to hard on her thumb. The distinct metallic taste of blood quickly filled her mouth, and she quickly rolled her fingers over her thumb and clinched it in her hand and brought it down to her side. She pretended that nothing happened as she averted her attention to Yoru, since he had decided to break the silence and talk to her. He asked her if she had any questions about him, since he knew quite a bit about her. In truth she had never really questioned herself too much about him. She was always swept up by everything that had happened as a result of them becoming friends, and since Yoru learned a lot about her just with their first shared touch, there really wasn't really any point where the two just sat down and shared.
She sat there for a moment to think about what she should ask him. Once she came up with something, Yoru was handing her a bowl of food. She took it with her free hand and watched as he started to eat a bit, still waiting for her possible questions. She set the warm bowl in her lap and stirred it a bit with her spoon. "Well, I was kind of wondering about your past. I mean you don't mention your parents at all or anything, you live alone. So I guess, if you don't mind telling me, what ever did happen with your parents?" She continued to stir her food about, allowing it to cool a bit before eating. She awaited his answer, whether it be an answer or just a response that would lead to him not wanting to talk about it. She did wonder if it was a bit personal of a question, but it was all she could think of at the time. |

| He was not expecting that, his parents, did she mean his adoptive parents or his real parents? Either way it was good to know they had a conversation going. After taking another bite of his food he cleared his throat and began to tell his story."Well to be completely honest I never really knew much about my real parents. From what I was told they were attacked by bandits when I was still really young. They were all killed, my mother ran off with me in her hands. She got a fair distance before they started trying to kill her. Again this is what I was told, She was shot many times by arrows yet she still ran with me in her arms. It took half a day of running but in the end she collapsed at the gates of Konoha." Taking a moment to let what he just said sink in he took another bite of his food.
"She died giving me to a Jounin who was at the gate at the time. She apparently begged him to take care of me. He of course took me in his arms and her on his back and attempted to get her to the hospital as quickly as he could. He did not make it in time for her. From that moment on the Jounin raised me with his wife as if I was his own child. However it was never really a warm family. He was focusing on training me, not to make me a great shinobi. When I was ten he told me the full truth, you see he always told me that he adopted me after my family died he just never told me how. That day he told me everything, I guess that is why he was so focused on training me so I would be ready to hunt him down. From what I was told there was only one bandit that escaped when they got to close to Konoha... The bandit leader"With that he began to unwrap the scarf around his neck. As the last of it came off it revealed the prominent scar the was across his chin and lower face."This scarf was my mothers. She apparently had wrapped me up in it to keep me warm and safe. As I undoubtedly am sure you noticed the tears at the end of it."
Placing a tracing the scar across is face he could almost imagine the pain."You see when the attack began I was hit by a kunai. Just across the face, I don't know if it was meant to happen or it was an accident but this is the only thing I have to remember that horrible day by..." With that he began wrapping the scarf back around his neck."And this is all I have to remember the woman that gave her life to save mine." Once it was completely around his neck he made a point to tighten it so as to hide his face a little. He wasn't ashamed of his past but it still hurt him to talk about it. A few tears rolled down his face as he held in the urge to full on cry. After pulling himself together he continued." From what I am told they checked all of my family. Each of them had white hair none of them had red eyes. So they assume I must be tainted with some desire for revenge." Tainted funny little word considering they there thoughts about him were true. "Little did they know that they were right." He said to where she had to really be listening to hear it.
Finishing his meal he coughed and stood up,"I am going to go to sleep.Good night." With that he stood up and crawled into his tent. Sure they could have shared one and it would have been better for both considering the cold but right now he just felt like he wanted to be alone. Now laying down he squeezed his scarf and let the tears roll down, though he kept out all the urges to let out a sound. It had been a long time before he had actually cried. He knew that tonight was OK he will punish himself for it tomorrow. After a while he slowly began to drift off to sleep. |

| Yomi sat quietly as Yoru told her the grim tale of his past. At first she continued to eat the food he had given her, but as the story continued to unfold, it would merely sit in her lap, cupped in her hands. His tale was engrossing, too engrossing to focus on anything, whether it be the crackle of the warm fire they sat by, or the now cooling food that sat in her lap. She wasn't going to miss a single detail. After all, he was going to tell her his story, something that she might never be given the chance to hear again.
He spoke of his mother, who fought and pushed herself to the brink of death and against the odds to save her child. How the jounin who had taken him in raised him as his own, taught him of how to be a shinobi, and how to hunt and kill those who had taken away his mother if given the chance. He then spoke of his scarf, and as he slowly unwrapped it, he showed her the scar that ran down the lower half of his face and told her how he got it. She knew the world could be cruel, but for such a thing to happen so someone at such a young age was just a tragedy. The final piece of his story reflected himself more than the past. Though what caught her attention the most was something he didn't quite say, but whisper. His eyes tainted by his want for revenge, his hatred for the man who killed his mother and took away his life. It was...something that she couldn't share, however she could understand. She would certainly want the same if she had gone through such an ordeal.
She remained silent through it all and even after he was done. She was thinking of everything he had told her,the thoughts swirling in her head. She wanted to say something in response but there were no words that could be used for such. It wouldn't matter though, as finished the remainder of his food and quickly stood up and told her that he was going to bed.He wished her goodnight. She watched as he crawled into his tent, but she did not say anything. She simply turned back towards the fire. She knew that he was upset and that it was because of what she had asked him. Though it may have not been the question itself, the story certainly must have stirred his emotions. She turned to the tent and felt terrible. She slumped down and set the bowl of food on the ground next to her, the crackling fire being the only noise in the quiet night. She sat there for an hour, two hours, three hours, thinking of what he had told her, of how it made him feel. Soon enough she had fallen asleep, right there by the fire, but not before she had wrote something in the dirt next to her.

| Walking up Yoru looked up at the top of the tent, thank fully it had not rained during the night so it wouldnt be wet and cold today. Sitting up Yoru looked at his hands,"How long has it been since I last cried." He thought. Quickly getting up Yoru brushed off those thoughts, there was no time for that they needed to get going. Opening the tent Yoru noticed a few things right off the bat. First was that the sun had yet to fully rise to awaken all of the animals in the forest. This would mean it would be perfect since very people and animals were awake at this time. The second thing he noticed was the sleeping noble near the remains of the fire. "Why hadn't she gotten into the tent?" He thought as he crawled out to check on her.
He could tell by the way her body was moving up and down that she was still asleep. As he moved closer he saw that she had written in the dirt a single word."Sorry." Why had she done this? It is not like it was her fault that Yoru had lost everything. Yet the fact that she felt enough to feel for him moved him deeply inside. Reaching down he lightly moved a single strand of hair from her face. What happened next Yoru could not explain for the life of him. In fact he was wondering what he was doing when he did it, yet in that moment he lead down and kissed the heiress on the forehead. As soon as it was done he was glad she was asleep. "Probably would have made it so I couldn't move for a year." he thought to himself as he went out to gather more wood to prepare a light breakfast before they started to head out.
While he was gathering up a small amount of wood Yoru kept running over in his mind what he had done. "Why did I do that? She is a friend and my ward. Why would I try and ruin that?" He thought still gathering wood. Even as he was heading back to the camp it was still assaulting his mind with what he had done. When he was getting closer to the camp he tried to block the thoughts out by thinking of something else... Anything in fact so he started to think of the trip. "We should reach the forest by mid day today so we should be ok." He thought however when he reached the camp and saw her his face instantly turned bright red."Crap." Was all he thought as he was once again assaulted with the thoughts and images of what he had done.

| "It's so dark.... why is it so dark?" A small reddish flicker of light appears in the distance, growing ever so slightly as if motioned closer. "What is that...a light? Where is it coming from?" Everything goes dark again and after a few moments and as if opening her eyes for the first time, the young Hyuuga heiress once again can see her surroundings. "Wait, what?" Confused she looks around. She is in the Hyuuga estate, where her father, Yoru, and herself had dinner the night before they set out. There is nobody in the room other than the young girl. It's silent and nothing seems out of the ordinary until she looks towards the door that leads outside. The same reddish light as before is boldly embracing it, slivers of it slipping through the thinner parts of the door. She stands and walks over, taking a big gulp before sliding the door open. Her eyes widen as to what she sees as the light over takes her, along with a blaze of heat. The Hyuuga estate is burning to the ground. She quivers for a moment and turns to run back, just to find that the room behind her was now consumed with flames. Around the room, bodies of her clansmen, bloody and carved up, dead and falling prey to the flames. She goes to scream, but no sound comes out. Silent, without a voice, she stands there as the flames creep around and surround her. Before she can try to run, a blade pierces her back and runs her through. She looks down at the blade and turns her head to see behind her, with the feeling of everything slowing around her, she sees a bandit, grinning maniacally, the blood of her kinsmen covering his body. She slowly turns back towards the room, her expression holds an understandable look of shock, yet in the back of her head she thinks..."Why don't I feel the pain? The heat of the flames, or the ground under my feet? What's going on?"
With a slight jump, the girl wakes up, breathing heavily. "A...dream.." She thinks to herself, as she slowly sits up, covering the right side of her face with her hand. She slips it up through her hair and repeats to herself. "It was just a dream, no...a nightmare." She takes a moment and lays back down for a moment. She remembers that she had fallen asleep outside next to the fire, after hearing Yoru tell her his story. She wondered if maybe it was his story that had brought on the terrible nightmare she had. Before she had anymore time to think about it, she heard a rustling noise. She quickly leaned up, to see Yoru returning from gathering some fire wood. She let out a relieved sigh and said. "Good morning." She stood up and brushed some dirt from her clothes. Falling asleep on the ground, not one of her best ideas. While brushing off some of the dirt from her legs, she noticed the word she had written in the dirt the night before. A single word. Sorry She blushed a bit and wonder if he had seen it. She remained facing the opposite way, her back turned to him. She patted her back slightly as if acting like she was merely getting any remaining dirt off of her. She turned her head slightly and asked him over her shoulder. "So when did you wake up?" |

| "Good morning." The heiress had said, those words instantly made him turn bright red from what he had done. Coughing he moved and set the firewood on the dieing fire thus beginning to bring it back to life."Good morning Hyuuga-sama." Sitting down he prepared breakfast for the two of them. Even though he was in making breakfast he never took his eyes off her for very long. She was wiping the dirt off her body and clothes when he head turned he looked back down at the food he was preparing his face a crimson that would rival the color of his eyes. "So when did you wake up?" She asked. "Just before sunrise." He replied trying to keep his eyes off of her as much as possible since he was still assaulted with the images of his deeds. Pouring the contents of breakfast into two bowels he set one down for himself and set one next to the heiress."I hope you enjoy it." He said then instantly regretted it."Why did I say that? It is just breakfast not some fancy dinner." He thought while he was eating his face still a crimson color.
Finishing up his breakfast Yoru began to clean up the campsite,he had intentionally kept quite through out the moment for he felt he might say something that he really shouldn't. "Just focus on the mission Yoru dont think about what you did. It is finally time for you to get you revenge. You know when and where he is going to attack you. Just kill the leader and then you can move on with your life. Just make sure you keep Yomi safe." He thought as he packed the dishes away. Now walking around he began to pick up the traps he had left the night before." Considering that I will be out numbered I should probably ditch my more heavy armor... Change into the normal ninja under armor and tshirt to make me more light...carry usual weapons however..." Yoru continued to go over his check list as he approached the camp.
Opening his bag Yoru placed the traps inside, feeling now would be the best time to change his armor he looked around for Yomi. However not finding a trace of her he decided to take the chance. Pulling his coat off he felt the cool morning wind on his scarred arms, pulling his tshirt off just spread the cool feeling over his torso. His naked chest now exposed to the light scars could be seen all over his torso. Years of training had been hard for him but completely worth it. Pulling the under armor from his bag and slipping the cold metal on Yoru quickly pulled his tshirt back on before Yomi could appear before him and be shocked. Now completely packed Yoru picked up his back and began looking for the Hyuuga heiress.
