Mission Objective: Several years ago the head of a clan who serve as retainers to the lord of River Country was stricken with an incurable and fatal disease. No longer able to hide his condition as it renders him insensate most of the time, he has finally taken to his deathbed while his heirs jockey to succeed him. Of the two viable male heirs, the elder is a monk who has refused all attempts to get involved - stating that he renounced his place in the household when leaving to joined the temple. The other is a weak-willed wastrel who is little more than the clan elders mouthpiece. The sole female heir however is the most qualified in terms of ability next to the eldest brother, having run the households affairs since her father was stricken and being very strong-willed. Because of that she is certain to eventually remove the elders authority, and thus is viewed as a threat to be removed by marriage or death by them. A view she is well aware of as well as the fact that she is not universally liked among her family's guards as she refuses to allow them to hassle the female staff. To that end she had turned to Konoha for help - offering to open up the local markets (closed under her father) to merchants from Fire Country in exchange for protection and support. Your assignment is to protect the young woman at all costs and provide whatever assistance you can within reason as determined by the mission leader.
