Canine Specialists The key trait of the Inuzuka clan is their possession of ninja hounds which they use as a life companionship. The relationship between a Inuzuka and their dog is inseparable, their chakra are so aligned that they can be identified as one being. A Inuzuka receives their dog around early adolescents where the bond is initially formed. Through the years as both the clansmen and their dog grows, so does their linkage. "Ninja Dogs" a many Inuzuma call them are very powerful and possess unique abilities separate from their regular canine families. Because of the symbiotic share of chakra with their owners, Inuzuka dogs have longer life spans up to par with that of humans. They have a stronger sense of hearing and smell, even capable of smelling chakra. They can communicate with their owner through either verbal exchange or even telepathy with more powerful members. A more drastic change however is that Ninja Dogs are capable of growing to extraordinary sizes four times of their expected height. At a mature age a Inuzuka hound can grow slightly larger than their human counterpart, making them massive dogs which can even be rode on. We know from basis in the Manga and this description here, that the Inuzuka hounds can grow well past the size of your standard dog. Given that in the time span between Part I and Part II, Akamaru was able to grow at and unprecedented rate [at what I can assume is a puberty stage for him in comparison.] Now, when one compares the size relation to the use of Inzuka jutsu, the size makes no difference in terms of combat advantage, but in terms of your standard combat usage. An Inuzuka dog can still bite, claw, and/ or rout an enemy can it not? At which point a larger dog will be more threatening than a smaller dog.
We also know from this that not only is it possible for not every dog to grow to Akamaru's size [as shown Kiba's mother's singular dog is not even half that size] but also that it is possible to have more than one ninken companion. His sister, a medic has three ninken at Chuunin level and notice that all of her dogs are smaller in comparative size. My current Ninken is smaller even than her three companions.
Now, when I had first considered making an Inuzuka character, I had spoken briefly to TopKite about the possibility of utilizing two ninken at a higher rank (with obvious background, it wasn't just getting a new ninken at a higher rank) and he suggested Chuunin or higher. Hence with my original assumption of Chuunin. But given some thought , it is a significant advantage for a mere Chuunin and as such Special Jounin is a more fair rank for two reasons.
First, the very definition of Special Jounin. - Quote :
- Tokubetsu Jo-nin (????, Tokubetsu Jo-nin; English TV "Special Jo-nin"; Literally meaning "Special High Ninja"; sometimes known as Tokujo- for short) are ninja who, rather than all-around jo-nin training, have jo-nin-level ability in a specific area or skill, much like warrant officers in real-world militaries. They are elite specialists in their areas and are often assigned as subordinates to regular jo-nin when their services are needed. One example of a Tokubetsu Jo-nin is Ibiki Morino, whose unique ability to completely understand the workings of the human mind makes him a jo-nin-level interrogation expert.
As the definition states, a special jounin is for the most part, a chuunin with Jounin like skill in one specific area. Given this, at Special Jounin, Magato's high skill could be to obtain usage of a second dog in combat. (There is story behind the two dogs and such but for the sake of length and clarity it is easier to leave it out at for the time being.) As I told Becky last night, I'm willing to have to create advanced version of all techniques to use with both dogs, but I'm also willing to sacrifice whatever advancement a special jounin gets, which is an A rank technique I believe.
The second reason, is because as stated a SP. Jounin still has much room for improvement in terms of skill to reach Jounin rank. Because of this, it is far easier to adapt a character's fighting style and already established battle habits to the usage of two brand new ninken when one needs more improvement already. To do so at a higher rank when your skills and style are already more so set in stone would be vastly different and much harder to input into Character Development.
Now as I discussed with Becky, I am willing to prohibit it so that I can only use the Inuzuka colab techniques with one dog at SP. Jounin. However I would still like to be able to use the other in combat situations, unlike a pet can be used. Additionally, I'm willing to have the size of each dog equivalent that of Three Haimaru Brothers in Part I, increasing in size only if allowable at S rank. I'm also willing to post anywhere from 2-4 thousand word training topics with the dogs to gain them in a more fair sense, which can be evaluated and approved like Sharingan advancement profession training or gaining summoning contracts. And as mentioned before make my own custom techniques for usage of more than one of the ninken at a time (only at A-rank and up), which can be moderated for strength and fairness themselves.
It's been shown in the Manga that it is possible to possess more than one dog, however there is no clear rule for or against it on US, but it is shown as possible in the Manga. Now I would say that given that no two RPers are the same the easiest way to make it allowable would be on a case-by-case basis, like those who apply for Sharingan, Bijuu or limited techniques. This is easier than a hard rule because it allows the staff to review the specifics of possessing more than one ninken companion and use it as a reward or encouragement for RPing.
I think that's pretty much all I got. I'll just post it in forum assistance to see what the general population thinks and the staff can review it as they see fit. |

| In the manga the second dog was used by jounin. Staff is currently discussing this and so far it will either be A) You can have a second dog as a PET at B+ then it becomes usable at A. Or B) You can only get two at A. So far we are discussing this so this could change at anytime. Remain patient and we'll get back to you shortly. |

| Where was this second dog used by a Jounin? My facts were wrong last night when I had assumed Kiba's mother had two dogs. Tsume Inuzuka only had one companion, whilst Hana Inuzuka his sister was the companion to three ninken triplets at Chuunin (B rank) in Part I, which stands ownership of two or more dogs is possible.

| Well this site isn't entirely cannon and we had gone off what you told us. I haven't heard different from staff. If my memory is correct Kiba's mother was said to train the dogs in some off hand comment in the anime. I might be wrong on that. As I said, Wait. We are still discussing it. |
