PostSubject: The Speed of Yamanaka-based techniques The Speed of Yamanaka-based techniques EmptySat 19 Jan 2013, 11:19 am

I was reading over clan stuff today and I came across the Yamanaka clan section, an interesting clan to be sure. And it occurred to me, since they're ninjutsu, unless Genjutsu, and have an actual effect on bodies...

How fast are they? The Mind Transfer technique just says "Quick"- Which is a contrast from the canon "Slow" speed. Could I get something to compare it with? Jogging speed? A Kunai? Kirin? I'm also curious to the overall ability of all the Yamanaka techniques to "Hit" the enemy. None of them have been shown to have a visible effect that an enemy can know to dodge, nor do they have any real speed guidelines. More often then not, we have an enemy not paying attention or knowing its gonna happen get caught unaware and screwed by it. But for the purpose of fair dodging, when do I know if I can dodge the technique, and how do I compare it with other physical or elemental projectiles?

I realize there isn't a clear answer to this. Thus, I ask the mods to please design me an answer ^.^

Truthfully, I don't really have an 100% answer to this question and the most I can say is wait until someone above me provides you with a more sufficient answer since I'm only a trainee at this point.

However, the Mind Body Switch Technique has been shown to miss. The speed of it seems almost instantaneous but because any slight movement of the target can cause it to screw up, it's generally performed on people who are immobilized. Since the user is essentially projecting their conscious out, if they miss, we've seen it take a while to come back to the user. It should also be noted that the jutsu can only be shot in a straight line, while the Mind Clone Switch Technique (from the anime) is a curved line.

Again, hopefully a higher up will post on this. I posted so that your thread simply didn't sit / wait, because we as staff should be able to offer you something.

I hate you.

For the most part; as the canon has shown, the speed of the Yamanaka technique is something akin to a thrown shuriken. It's not instant, however if you're unaware of it coming it'll strike you very easily. Additionally, if you're immobilized, you'll get struck immediately. The only difference between their mind transfer technique and a thrown shuriken is the obvious ability to block a thrown shuriken. The Yamanaka technique cannot be blocked, however easily evaded as a shuriken can be. Basically, my point is; judge it like you would a shuriken. You can evade it swiftly if you notice it, but if immobilized or off guard you're screwed.
