| I'm a nerd. If ya didn't know that before, you'll know it now. And as I nerd, I love RPGs. Bioware RPGs in particular have been my fancy in recent years, but also various forms of DnD, Final Fantasy, and other fairly interesting games that happen to come my way. And my question to you, is this.
In a Party of Four, and you could bring them from any game, what characters would you include in your party?
Its really an awesome question that can to me one night with a group of fellow nerds. And it got a really good response that made people think. Therefore, I'll be posing the same question to you guys. However, I will be setting rules, ones I think will better breed creativity and make you think hard on your choices.
No more than a single character from one game. Exceptions might be allowed if the character/s are like a combo or come as a pair, but otherwise, I wanna keep people from having it too easy. I don't want someone taking their favorite party from say FF7 and defeat the purpose of opening the table to multiple games. Now, they can be from the same series- I will permit, for example, party characters from Dragon Age 1 and 2. However, I will still discourage people from using too many from the same universe for the sake of making the parties more interesting~
You must choose a party leader Your party leader must have been a party leader at some point during the game. They may be a customized character, like Sheperd from Mass Effect, or, they may be say Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I completely support people discussing their leader if its one that's customizable in order to show what kind of character he would be.
Explain how this party will work well together I wanna know how awesome this team will be. I wanna know how their unique abilities work well together.
Aaaaand go. I'll show you guys my own personal party once you guys have shown off. |

| Team Leader: Sun Jian
- Spoiler:
Sun Jian would a great team leader. Not only does he have an army that expands over thousands of people, he has amazing generals. From tacticians as Lu Xun to great fighters Such as Gan Ning. He's also a skilled fighter himself wielding the Jian sword. Hes has fought in many battles, and overpowered over many. With Certain items he is able to wield elements such as wind, fire, poison, etc in battle. Finally, he has a devasting attack called Musou which interrupt enemy attacks and will make him invulnerable until the effect ends. Eating allows him to heal a big portion of his health.
PowerHouse: Thor
- Spoiler:
Thor, not only the god of thunder, but also the God of Strength. He is the strongest of all the Asgardians , wielding the weapon called Mjolnir. Without his Hammer, Thos is not powerless, having the strength to crush stars with his fist, the speed can swing his weapon at twice the speed of light, while his powers were reduced in half. He's able to fight for months without growing tired, and have various lightning attacks. At Thor's prime, when he held the power of the Odinforce, he was able to break a once thought unbreakable metal, with a simple look.
Weapon Expert: Dr. Light
- Spoiler:
Know as Dr. Thomas Light, is a robotic scientist, able to create various robots with different abilities. While not being a man of action himself, his robots certainly do the job. The ability of the robots he has created range from Super Strength to Copying. It is assumed he is able to create weapons, and would certainly be a great assist to aiding his team.
Support: Athena
- Spoiler:
Athena would be a great part of the team not only as a support character, but as a fighter as well. She is has shown the abilities of healing auras, defensive shields, teleportation. She wields a golden staff that was used to kill the God Hades. She also has her own cloth armor which is stronger than any other armor in the series. Also, all of the saints are at her disposal, each of them have their own abilities. Potentially she can use up to 88 saints.
- Spoiler:
How My team would work together: The team I have created is not only strong individually but the sheer numbers of the team is simply amazing. The size of the team would be overwhelming for most leaders, but Sun Jian has shown great skill in leading monstrous size armies. A very courageous leader is good for large armies. He would have a large influence on the army. Thor would have great respect for Sun Jian because of his ability to lead his troubles, and the fact that Sun Jian fights with his troops. Thor would be the first to battle and the last to leave. His strength and speed would be unmatched by almost any foe that he fights. Dr. Light would not only provide a large force of robots as well, he would provide weapons for the large armies as well. With the right training with these weapons, the army would become stronger than ever before. His robots would be able to do things inhumanly possible, and Megaman would be able to take certain abilities from other foes, allowing for a different kind of battle each time. Lastly, Athena would work well as a support, providing all the healing needed to be done, and protecting the army as well. She has a high power of energy, capable of keeping this up for long periods of time. If need be she can battle as well, but with the various Saints at her side, and the wide range of powers they hold, this would be unlikely. Provided anyone dies, Thor can bring them back to life with his control over thunder.

| Mass Effect 3 - Liara T'Soni Leader Asura's Wrath - Asura Devil May Cry 4 - Dante Borderlands 2 - Maya
Well, this one is pretty straightforward. Asura and Dante, the two powerhouses will wreck havoc at close range, Asura with his Godly strength and the ability to create multiple arms and Dante with his sick weapon combos. Maya and Liara are the "mages" of the team. Maya with her Siren powers can heal and buff team-mates and she can stasis multiple opponents for some easy damage. Not to mention, she can use guns. As for Liara, well she is the smartest of the bunch, and she is a good strategist. Therefore she is the leader. With her biotic powers she too can stasis opponents like Maya, use Lift, Throw and combo Biotics to create Biotic Explosions for some heavy damage. If needed, she can create a barrier to shield everybody from enemy attack. She too knows how to use a gun.
Now how character combos would work. Both Dante and Maya can deal elemental damage, and they will stick to the opponent for few seconds. And this is where Liara comes in play. While the opponents are under the effect of elemental damage, she can easily use Throw and create an Elemental explosion, hitting every enemy near the explosion (5-10 meters). As for Asura, I don't really have much for him except him and Dante working together. Asura is THE most powerful character in this team. Firstly because he is a God, secondly, he literally obliterated a God which was 2 times bigger than Earth. So yeah, he alone would just wreck anything, partner him with Dante and with Maya's buffs, and nobody stands a chance against them. |

| KOTOR - Darth Revan/Revan - Leader
- Spoiler:
Assassin's Creed - Altair
- Spoiler:
Dishonored - Corvo
- Spoiler:
Mass Effect - Thane Krios
- Spoiler:
If anyone's ever played Knights of the Old Republic(KOTOR), or looked into the history of the fallen jedi Revan, which I use the term very lightly. Revan was not only a promising jedi, but he changed the course of an entire war. He led many young jedi against the teachings of the jedi to defend the galaxy. Revan was a master tactician, proving so when he returned as Darth Revan. Unlike Malak, whom only sowed pointless destruction, Revan crippled political leaders and left defences intact. Instead of killing jedi, Revan would bring them to his side. He saw a picture that no one else had and was preparing the Republic from another force.
As such, I choose rather skilled assassins from several different games, those being Corvo, Thane, and Altair. Not only did these three men work alone in most cases, they have an extremely effective arsenal and skills. Corvo was granted powers beyond his world, Thane was a biotic, and Altair basically did parkour. Revan would know who would accel in what situations, giving the team a rather decent edge to wedge between the heart of their targets.

| Team Leader: Squall Leonhart (FF8) - Spoiler:
Assassin: Raziel (Legacy of Kain - Defiance) - Spoiler:
Assassin: Faust (Kingdoms of Amulur - Reckoning|Customized Character) - Spoiler:
Ranged Expert: Niko Belic (GTA 4) - Spoiler:
The ultimate team of video game creations unite in a well placed team of pure death and destruction. First we have the team leader, Squall. This bad ass can do it all. His gunblade allows him to cut you and half and shoot you in the face at the same time. Likewise he can cast a variety of spells from freezing his opponents in time or with ice, raining down meteors from above, and even healing and reviving his allies. Furthermore he has an arsenal of over 20 summons he can call forth at any time that range from creatures resembling elemental gods, demons that control gravitational fields, and even a giant cactus. Squall can pretty much do it all, but that alone is not what makes him the leader of this team from hell. Its his mindset and training. He was raised to be a SeeD agent, the most well respected organization of mercenaries in his world. He has natural leadership qualities and genuinely cares for those he commands. He doesnt take chances and goes the extra mile to go in, get the job done, and get everyone out safely. He has doubts in himself which only makes him more pressed to do the right thing and prove to himself he is capable. Squall is an intimidating force that has the resources to control the tide of battle and the head to execute proper strategy. Furthermore, he doesn't lead from the back and dish out orders. He trusts his comrades to do their jobs and joins the fray any chance he gets.
Next we have our assassins, Raziel and Faust. Both of them are back from the dead with an agenda to fill and nothing to lose. Raziel was cast to hell and escaped after years of suffering and minionship. He wields a sword known as the soul reaver which has many different states including all the natural elements and even light and darkness. He can shift between the dimensions of the living and the netherworld, so he can pretty much poof and reappear at will, making it near impossible to track his movements. Furthermore, he devours the very souls of the ones he eliminates, replenishing his energy as quickly as he uses it.
Faust was killed in a war campaign and revived in the first successful use of the Well of Souls. His weapons include poison tipped, electrified daggers and a bow that can unleash a volley of steel and elemental power at his targets. Faust gets in quick and avoids enemy attacks with the most efficient dodge roll ever seen in the virtual worlds. But what makes him truly formidable are his skill sets. The man can bring drag enemies to him with a line of magical energy or vice-versa in a slingshot manner if the target is too large. He casts shadows and dark blades to cause massive bleeding, place explosive marks on multiple enemies at once, and propagate poisonous clouds from fallen and infected foes. Where armies have fallen, he has succeeded alone, proving one man can control the tides of fate itself. However, his most notable feature are his creeping skills. This man can utilize the shadows better then the entire order of the Brotherhood (Assassin's Creed). Faust could be standing in front of you and you wouldn't even notice it unless he wanted you to. On top of that, he can detect anything hidden within a nearby radius, nothing escapes this guy.
And the last piece of the puzzle is Niko Belic. This Russian was trained by the soviet army and is no stranger to death and pain. In fact, he's absolutely numb to its psychological effects. He is a cold blooded killer, but still manages to salvage his heart for his cousin and close friends. Probably why he is was their best special ops soldier. He doesn't have any special powers but is the finest sharpshooter and weapon expert you could hope to find. He knows how to properly load and use any gun you place in his hand just by looking at it. He can drive any vehicle and can even command the might of an Apache helicopter. Should the job be too much to handle, his Irish thug brothers can be quickly called into aide, unleashing hell on whoever pissed him off, (or maybe he just got a really good paycheck for that most recent hit he took up.) Though simple as far as his opponents in this setting might be concerned, Niko Belic is not the man you want to cross.
So how does this combination work? Its pretty simple really. Squall takes the main stage as the leader and most versatile fighter, slaughtering enemies left and right with his gun blade, stopping in their tracks with time magic, speeding himself up...THIS GUY IS FREAKING EVERYWHERE AT ONCE! Furthermore, he's already summoned a couple of Guardian Forces to back him up and wipe the field. So while Squall is going on a tanking rampage, not caring if he gets hurt because he can just heal himself, Raziel and Faust are shifting in and out of sight, taking out numerous people before they even realize they're fucked up. You can't catch what you can't see and you can't kill what you can't catch. Meanwhile, Niko is on a rooftop or in some bushes off in the distance just picking people off with expert head shots with his sniper rifle. He runs out of bullets? Who cares, he just pulls out his glocks, a shotgun, or even a hunting rifle and charges in spraying lead and laying waste. He might even jump in a helicopter and spray everyone down with an automatic machine gun. Hell, if he's in a playful mood, there's a good chance he already jumped in a Comet or Super GT and is running the enemies down with his bumper as we speak. I told you not to piss him off. Did you listen? Of course not.
So there you have it folks, the formula is simple, but simplicity often works best as it gives the least room for error. Everyone can easily grasp their task and easily execute it and why? Cuz Squall gave them the breathing room to do what they do best....to kill. It may not have been a team compromised of people he necessarily likes, but hell make do with whats given to him, he's had to deal with worse. At least these guys do what the hell they are supposed to. Unlike that bastard Seifer........ |

| Team Leader: Ezio Auditore Da Firenze (Assassin's Creed)
- Spoiler:
Healer: Yuna (Final Fantasy 10)
- Spoiler:
Powerhouse: Pain (Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm)
- Spoiler:
Other Powerhouse: Samus (Metroid: Prime)
- Spoiler:
It seems like a strange pairing yes, but bear with me. Ezio could sneak up on enemies from a high place, or use his combat skills in a pinch, from nearly any range. Any range outside of Ezio's could be taken care of by Samus, with one of her many elemental (or not) beams. Should any of them take damage, Yuna could cast Cure (or even Full-life, if they die), and pick them right back up. To add to this, Yuna could also use her Summoner's Dance to dismiss undead foes. Finally, while all this is going on, Pain could inflict massive damage from far away, with his Planetary Devestation Jutsu, as well as reflect incoming attacks with his Almighty Push. |
