With the wind in her hair, life was simply beautiful. She’d traveled most of the way with her jounin escort, but her destination was in a different direction. Near the coastline lay the home of her family, the ancient Ashigaru Stronghold that’d been her family’s homeland for time removed from memory. Atop Kusamaru Saya was making excellent time, the grass covered plains zipping by below her at an amazing speed. Even at a slow jog the beast was far faster than Saya was in a full out run, and the dinosaur could keep this pace for hours on end. It wouldn’t take her that long to get home, and soon she could spend a little quality time with her family.

From Ashigaru keep she could commission a boat to her new homeland, and from there find her new master. Maybe he’d be able to teach her something, or shower her with compliments at a job well done. She smirks just slightly at that. Yeah right. More likely he’d either ignore the accomplishment, or find some reason to scold her for acting on her own. Either way, she had no regrets to her previous actions. Glancing back over her shoulder, even the column of smoke that’d been filling the skies was well beyond the horizon and out of sight. She’d exited the land of fires vast forest, and was now flying across the grasslands at an amazing clip. This was Kusamaru’s chosen domain, the flat plains that he’d mastered hunting on. He jogs quickly, sniffing the air with each breath he takes in. The dinosaur was hungry, and Saya had promised him a feast when they got to the Ashigaru Stronghold.

With each great stride, the dinosaur covered twenty or thirty feet, and kicked up a small divot of grass in his passing. He’d be easy to track, but exceedingly hard to catch up with. Of course, that didn’t keep saya off her guard. Her mask and her cloak still remain covering her form, the considerable weight of her cloak keeping it flat against her back, and preventing it from flapping in the breeze behind her. Oh yes, it would certainly be nice to be home.
