Storm Release

I would like to join this clan but it seems its creator has gone AFK. However this is a canon clan. Not sure why it had to be custom. It is an actual clan from Kumo, it is Darui's clan. Havent read the history of the custom clan or the cannon's but the KKG and the clan traits are the same. I messaged the "creator" on here but havent got a reply.

So Id like to ask everyone for some input? Can we make this cannon?

Let me just clarify. Darui is the only person who has been seen using this Kekkei Genkai and he's only ever used one jutsu. There hasn't been enough information for the clan's abilities for the staff to put the effort into making it a clan here. It's a Canon ability, not a Canon clan.

Care to link me to the clan in question, I genuinely forget who made it and chances are it was so long ago that it would need to be revamped to suit our current systems.

I'm not sure which one you're giving more importance to, but there is a similar clan that has been made Canon.

The Yuki clan.

What we know of their abilities:

The Yuki clan's most noticable power is their utilization of water and wind chakra to create ice. Their power over ice grants them special techniques. They can shape, move and conjure ice at astonishing levels and perform great feats with the element whilst their jutsu. Ice is a very dangerous element with the ability to serve the same properties as a physical weapon or freeze its enemies to death.

What we know of their abilities:
Storm Release (嵐遁, Ranton; Viz "Gale Style or Storm Style") is an advanced nature kekkei genkai that combines lightning and water-based chakra to create energy beams that can be guided towards the enemy. This kekkei genkai is wielded by several Kumo-nin. The most notable of which is Darui. It does not manipulate storms; it instead manipulates beams of electricity which flow like water.

So I understand that Yuki Clan is an existing clan located in the Land of Water, so it makes sense to make a canon clan for it.

However, when we consider the fact that we made the "Haretsu Clan", I see no reason for Storm Release to not be allowed a canon status as well. We have almost as enough knowledge of it as we do of the Yuki Clan, and almost the same number of users.

Drake you're trying to argue something with physical evidence when there is no physical evidence. Narutpedia says several Kumo ninja have it yet as you've stated none of them have been seen or are even listed. Darui has used a single technique. Yuki for example is a proven clan that has been involved in the Naruto series from almost the very start and has been seen in use in a variety of ways. Furthermore, the concept of Ice isn't hard to grasp. Moving onto Explosive Release, the Haretsu Clan was made to turn Deidara's ability into a clan, this was at a time when we had village exclusive clans and this was exclusive to Iwagakure. It was merged into the universal list when we restarted our villages along with a few others like the Kessho Clan [Crystal Release] and a few others that have seen been removed since they don't work well with our systems anymore. Since then the Explosive Release has been listed as an actual Kekkei Genkai ability with the introduction of Gari into the manga. Even still the Haretsu clan is still a bit different as it specifically relates to Deidara's explosive clay (hopefully we will update it accordingly one day)

As for Storm Release, it could relate to a few different things. So far we've seen one technique that is practically a clusterfuck of laser beams being shot at an opponent. It could be argued that Storm Release could be expanded on and turned into a sort of weather manipulation clan which very skeptical on, who knows. The initial argument in here was that it's a Canon Clan, which I'm saying as of right now with one known user and one technique there wasn't enough information there to grab our attention and make into a universal clan. Gabe and MrMoney are fine to remake it, unless the administration and staff team are okay with it though it won't be something slotted into the Encyclopedia.
