| Title says it all. Enzo agrees with me, Zack agrees with me. Its nice to have a specific area in a village for announcements, organization, and discussion. And no, skype, the cbox, and PMs are not the same thing as having a forum in which all members of the village and only members of the village may discuss things.
Every Naruto forum I've been on has had one. It seems odd that this one does not.
Thank you. |

The specific area is called Administration Building and it's up to the Kages to give announcements, organization. As for OOC discussion, anybody can start it really... |

| Its not indicated to be an OOC area, however. You suggest it is, Ivan, but where does it say so? It states Kages can make general business announcements, but not that it can be an area of discussion or meeting for anyone but the Kage. It's also under another area, which doesn't make it very apparent that the administration building even exists to newcomers. A sanctioned area for OOC village discussion is what I'm suggesting, not a half RP half OOC area, which is one it is right now. Its a matter of accessibility and openness. |

| You're right, it isn't indicated at all. However, a Kage can easily make a sticky thread solely for OOC talk. Winged did something similar in his village with teams, opening a topic for each team for them to freely talk in OOC. So, I suggest PMing the Kage of the village you're in (In your case Zack) to make an OOC sticky thread. As for making a whole new area for OOC talk, I don't really see the point and it would just be a waste of space. |

I've yet to find a forum where they've ran out of space for sections?
Yes. You can make ooc topics. But its not a matter of "Well you can just do something else". Yes, we can just make ooc topics nilly willy wherever we please. But that leads to a mess of topics and people unsure of where things are. Organization of OOC topics will lead to more people being able to find them, and thus actually POST in them. Why have them scattered? Its cleaner and friendlier to forum goers to have a specific area for discussion, rather than dispersing topics and making individuals hunt down threads.
As to Zack, of course I suggested things to him. I'm the one who suggested to him to post the recent Kiri event in the administration building. But he, and I, would both prefer a more official sanctioned area for announcements and OOC discussion. Considering the fact that the village's operations are its own, it doesn't really matter what other parts of the forums think. Considering Zack I believe wrote most of the areas descriptions anyway (Correct me if I'm wrong, I was under the impression much of Kiri was his creation), what's the harm in letting him add an OOC subforum?
Granted, I'm the one bringing it up, but I spoke with both Enzo and Zack first who seemed positive over the notion before bringing it here.
P.S. I hate the lack of subforum links on this site. Just a personal preference of course. |

| I'm neither here nor there on this suggestion. I've always found it amusing when lack of necessity is is used by a side of a disagreement in a place that came into existence out of want, not need. If enough villagers want it that such a subsection would see considerable and continued use, then what more reason to create one is there? However, I feel it would be an incredible pity to see our community divide into village-based OOC niches. If the community is talking, I feel the whole community should be able to join in. If such a board would only be used for discussion of village issues then I personally find it hard to have confidence in its popularity, if it would include any number of other topics like the current OOC area, then I feel it would be detrimentally exclusive. As it is, I'm not 100% sold on hiding the villages from one another, but I can see why it is done. In my personal preference, the fewer things that are hidden the better. If something is public; it should be public. If something is private; it should be private. Anything in between is drawing lines between people and splitting them into very separate groups - something that happens IC in the space and secrecy between military powers in the Naruto world, but shouldn't happen between us as the players. We're all here together to have fun, so let's have our fun together. |

The reason we don't have them ATM is because of a coding issue, and Adam is talking to forumotion peeps to try fix it |

| Maybe Zack should reply to the post he made in the staff lounge in regards to this very thing so having the resolved topic in the Staff lounge could have stopped this one from dragging on unnecessarily. In regards to the waste of space statement, although in actual fact we do have a number of boards we can exceed, I've only ever exceeded it once on old Ultimate Shinobi when he had a ridiculous amount of space.
The fact of the matter is, we don't really promote people making out of character posts in the actual ROLEPLAYING BOARDS when it does happen it is usually a Kage created topic to organize certain important village related things. Really, Shiro you can argue that having Private Messages, Skype, the chatbox and the General Discussion boards aren't the same but what's exactly wrong with any of those choices? PM's and the GD board especially have everything organized appropriately and both differentiate between private and public. I mean, if there is enough people rallying behind it, somebody can certainly be added, though I'd be more inclined to adding it as a corner in the General Discussion board rather than the roleplaying boards, but the fact remains the same that the Adminstration Building can be used for the same thing if the topic is appropriate and as I said it hasn't been put in writing because it isn't promoted, yet anybody with a fraction of observation skills and initiative to find a place to do what they desire would have found it |

Nothing is. But its not what the people want :3
I want a forum area for discussing the village out of character.
There is no area that properly satisfies this want. Hence the topic :3 |

Also, yes. I did create Kirigakure. Who'se asking. And yes, it would be nice to have an OOC area. In fact, I actually wrote one up on my first draft of the forums, but through talking, I was told that it was not something that was done here. I was like "sad face."
I did not know that Enzo also supported the idea. It'd be so nice |

As for the OOC Village section. It would be in the best interest for everyone by the looks of it. Certainly help with a lot of things. |
