Yoroi Kaguya

-Planning a Trip-
-Konohagakure Library-

Today was going to be a good day, because Kimiko had promised to teach him how to use the Summoning Jutsu when she got back in a couple of hours. For the first time in years, this had caused him to go into the village’s more crowded regions, looking for a library that would be useful enough to him and his endeavors. He wanted to find something he could use as a Summoning, though he realized that it would not be any ordinary chipmunk or talking parrot, for they lacked the means to be a useful combat companions. Hopefully, the Library could help him by pointing him in the direction of a strong creature he could force into submission. Going through several logs and ledgers, there was not much that pointed him in the direction of any strong creatures inside of the country of fire.

There was not a whole lot of interesting stuff going on out there, the only creatures he had learned about from personal experience being wolves, bears and mountain lions, none of these seeming like the kind of creatures he could relate to. Then again, knowing the kind of person Yoroi was, was there such a thing as an animal that was just like him?. Chances of that were very small, even finding a creature he could work with would be small due to his high killing potential and the way in which he reacted to an animal trying to kill him. Blood spilled lead up to more blood getting spilled, that was the way Yoroi went about his business in the animal world, the way that had kept him alive for all of these years. Now, he had to rely on another form of intelligence, the one required when reading, something he did not do often enough to excel at it.

Continuing to pace his fingers through the books, he found something on one of the pages he had just passed, most likely not having noticed it because of his reading skills not being the best of the best. As it turned out, the grass country was famous for their powerful serpentine summons, something he would eagerly delve into a bit more. Getting more books about the grass country and the snake species, it seemed that some of the older creatures were gargantuan in size. Not much was known about the people that had access to these creatures, a major setback that could turn the entire thing upside down. On one of the maps he had laying in front of him on the table, he could tell that the grass country bordered the fire country in the east. He did not remember having been there, though there was not a doubt in his mind about him being able to get there on his own.

Yoroi Kaguya

-On the Move-
-The Fire Country-

Knowing what direction he should be heading in now, the journey into the east began for Yoroi who would make this trip on his own. He did not know anyone well enough to help him out with any of this, nor did he remotely know what to do when he encountered one of these creatures. Would he have to fight and beat them, would he need to solve some kind of riddle or was it just a thing that was either meant to be or not. Deep down, he hoped things would go to resolve itself for the biggest part, though that was just incredibly wishful thinking and he knew it. Standing outside of the village gates, the first stop he would make would be to get to his house to get some food for on the road, for travelling across the entire country would take quite a bit of time, and therefore consumed a whole lot of energy in the process.

Picking through his rationed food, he made sure the box he burried it in was sealed shut, not wanting to come back home to wild animals feeding on his savings. Luckily for him, the bone totems and traps set around the camp would most likely keep unwanted visitors out for a couple of days, long enough for him to get back in time. Dashing through the trees, he watched his step so as to not drop out of the trees when eating some roasted rabbit. He had put together a bit of a trail mix when he was back home, taking some nuts and some pieces of dry roasted meat with him in a small leather satchel. The meat was always a mystery bite, having thrown all of his rations in the same box, making it hard to tell what’s what.

It did not matter, meat was meat, and meat was what he needed in order to remain strong during days like these when he had to be on the move for extended periods of time. Yoroi had not brought a map with him, not out of mistake, because he knew exactly where he had to go if he wanted to get close to the grass country. All he really had to do was travel to the east, and Yoroi knew how to follow directions more then most people. As a predator and a stalker, finding the right path to follow would probably not be all that hard, not when the sun and the stars could guide him when needing directions. Those stars were natures compass, readable by those who allow nature to guide them.

Yoroi Kaguya

-A Chance Encounter-
-The Border of the Fire and Grass Country-

Having spent the night near the border of the fire country, the eventual goal was within reach, the grass country. When he made his way out of the abandoned cavern he had been sleeping in, he figured out the reason as to why it had been abandoned in the first place. What his eyes had missed during night time just became clear to him during the day, and what he saw was quite shocking. A lot of blood and hair was all over the place, almost as if smeared over the ground and the trees by hand. Counting the limbs and scattered parts on the ground, it seemed as if three bears had gotten mauled by something strong, and going by the bitemarks, it was also quite big. Whatever it was, Yoroi had never seen anything like it before, seeing as not even he was this violent when fighting another predator. Following the tracks that brought him to a nearby riverbank, more blood was found together with some bones that had been picked clean by the one that had been responsible for killing them.

It was then that he saw the one that was responsible for killing the bears, a large serpentine creature laying in the white sand that had been warmed by the sun. It seemed to have been asleep, at least until Yoroi had stepped into his territory. Opening it’s eyes, it showed eyes as green as emeralds, it’s dark slitted pupils staring at him from a distance. Raising his head above the ground, it shook some of the sand off of his brilliant bronze scales while it dragged it’s body closer to Yoroi. Fearless as he was, Yoroi slowly paced towards the large snake too, the beast easily being nine feet in length and quite heavy by the look of things. Keeping a distance of about five meters between one another, they stood close enough to inspect one another for a good minute before the snake made a sound that resembled... laughter?

“My my, aren’t you the dumb little monkey for getting into My territory without asking for my permission. Do you want to die that badly?” the snake said, it’s eyes focused on the boy.

“I didn’t see any signs that make this your territory, you might want to work on that. But to answer your question, No, I do not want to die, though now that you are here, I have a question for you to answer. I am looking for a personal Summon, would you know where I could find someone like you without an attitude?” Yoroi said in his usual tone of voice.

“Why you arrogant monkey!” the snake said, spitting at Yoroi in the process. It was visibly angered by what Yoroi had just said to him, it’s pupils dialating as if they were about to burst with rage.

Yoroi was not fully aware of what he had done wrong, simply because he had not been living among humans much and had therefore never learned how to be humble. The snake did not care for idle conversation any longer, baring it’s fangs as it let out a high pitched hiss. Yoroi had no experience with reptillian predators at all, though it did not take an expert on snake behaviour to tell that the beast was going to attack soon, very soon. Making use of his Shikotsumyaku: Yanagi no Mai, he let blades of bone grow from his elbows, knees and the palms of his hand, allowing him to use his erratic “Kaguya dance” moves in order to both defend himself from the snake strikes, as well as dish out deep cuts and puncture wounds if it got within his range. Then, just like that, the fight between the hot and the cold blooded predator began.

Yoroi Kaguya

-Conclusion-
-The Border of the Fire and Grass Country-

For nearly two hours the two thick headed predators went at it, neither of them being prepared to give up and die. Yoroi had been whipped by the snakes strong tail many times, bruising his body and knocking him off of his feet many times. Just like Yoroi was covered in bruises, so was the snake covered in many scars and stab wounds from when it got within range of his bone blades. Both of them were breathing heavily as they had both lost blood and had been at it for a long time now. The next hit would decide who would be the winner, they both knew that very well while they prepared their final attack. With the sound of the wind that rustled through the leaves, both Yoroi and the snake struck. In an instant, the snake had clamped it’s jaws around Yoroi’s shoulder, his entire arm being enveloped by the snake’s mouth. In that same instant, Yoroi had used the opening given to him to wrap his body around the snake’s head, locking his right arm and his legs around him, not prepared to let go at all.

“You see these blades? If I let them come out of my chest now, I can promise you that I will turn your brains to mush on the inside of your skull. Now, either you let me go and help me with a personal summon, or I lose an arm and you lose your life, Choose” Yoroi said, being dead serious.

He had been fighting much longer then he was used to, though it was his intense durability that kept him on his feet, allowing him to survive and gain the upper hand in this fight. Now that he had managed to play things out like this, he had won the fight one way or the other. If things went sour, he would just have to find a way of living without his left arm. Even if things went the right way and the snake let go, that would not mean it was over, seeing as it could just strike again the moment he let go of him. Then suddenly, the snake loosened it’s grip and started shaking a bit, making gurgling noises as if it had to throw up. With one last push, the creature spat out an entire scroll the size of it’s head, something that seemed impossible when Yoroi thought about it in hindsight. Figuring the best thing to do now was to fulfill his part of the promise, he let go of the snake and set foot next to the scroll.

“This is my contract, it allows a Shinobi to summon me to the battlefield if they have met the requirements. It also ties you to the Snake family, and requires that you sign this paper with your blood, otherwise it won’t work. After all this, I have to say that you’re a capable and crafty fighter that has earned my respect. My name is Shakreido, and I would be honored to fight with you” Shakreido replied, much to Yoroi’s surprise.

Looking at the contract scroll the snake had just puked out in front of his feet, he pricked his thumb on one of his blades, drawing just enough blood to put his signature on paper. Placing his thumb on the parchment, he started writing his signature in a crimson shade of red. When he was done, the Scroll seemed to go up in smoke, releasing a short poofing sound as it disappeared. When it did, Shakreido and Yoroi both knew that they had been bound together by blood as the ancient rules of the summoning contract had dictated.
“My name is Yoroi...” he said, still not entirely sure about what had just happened. What would happen from that point on would only be discerned as time would pass, and pass it would, just like it had down since the birth of the universe itself.
