I'm sorry, but I will be inactive and unable to post for a few days, I had a grease fire at my home yesterday. Pardon my language but HOLY SHIT WAS THAT FUCKING CRAZY!!!
The dumbest way possible, starting up french fries, and got occupied reading everyone's posts in the "lets start a war" thread. It only took a few minutes and my pot set on fire. I panicked and thought "fire? WATER". Silly me, as soon as I brought the burning grease pot to water. The flames flowered like I've never seen before. the curtains behind my sink caught on fire and I saw nothing but a wall of flames in front of me My line of sight was surrounded by fire, an image that will never leave my mind until I die.
I feel so stupid. My father always told me the story of his friend who was drunk as hell and decided to do the same thing. But he passed out, along with five other people in the house, also passed out drunk. The house burned right to the ground and all 6 men slept through the whole thing. RIP
I am okay and safe, no one was hurt and I am so lucky that all the damage was cosmetic and can be cleaned (So lucky... I have no insurance for my home). I have first degree burns on my right arm and second degree burns from my left elbow to my hand. I love my bandages, makes me feel ninja, lmao. oddly enough that was the only burns I got from my proximity to the flames. I didn't even burn a single stand on my head full of long ass hair. I am amazed on how everything turned out. I was expecting the worst.
For the next few days I will be taking care of the damage and all the riff-raff that'll come with this. But by this week-end I will be good to post, just still in a bit of shock after what happened. but after that, I will be extremely active, since I've been given a week off from work.
So take care guys. Know that I am alright and my fingers are all okay, so I can continue playing at this awesome site with ya'll. lol
Whoa bro. Don't feel stupid though, everyone's first reaction to a fire and is to throw water on it, especially when in shock. Very few people see fire and think, "BAKING SODA!". Anyways, I'm glad the damage wasn't too serious. But I hope your burns heal nicely, as I know that even small burns are annoying enough. Good luck with the clean up, hope it's not too much of a pain! ;o
So basically what you're saying is that I made a topic that caused a spontaneous fire in another part of the world...
o_o
I'm almighty!
(Hope you're ok >.O)

Totally get that. A couple of years ago, I may have had to have bandages after a kitchen accident with hot oil and I may have felt the exact same way. *hi-five*
In all seriousness - glad you're okay! I don't think anyone reacts the way they expect to in such situations, so don't beat yourself up. Good luck with the fallout and all that jazz.

And this is why I have a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher in my kitchen. Water works for most things, but no flame survives the absence of oxygen. Mess to clean up but easier than smoke damage.
Just remember to not burst any blisters or scratch no matter how much the burns itch and don't try to walk up any tree without using your hands.

Appreciate the thoughts peeps. I luckily have gotten no blisters and grown a strong tolerance to the pain. I have been getting professional care every step of the way. Daily re-dressings with new burn cream until all is better. I will be posting by this week-end, so soon. Just gotta let the burns heal. My left arm has a hard time typing, and I'm a lefty. Amy I will post as quick as I can. I have a plan.
After examining and cleaning a little of the mess I've made, I see that I still did very well in containing the flames. Minor burn damage, but a lot of smoke stain in my kitchen. Thank god I didn't spill it all over the place, Or else I would not be able to let you guys know of my absense, maybe even my further existance. LESSON LEARNED

*hi-five* I hear ya, shit happens. Still, you always seem to look back and say "I could've reacted better"

I had decided to get one along my ambulance ride to the hospital. just a small-medium one. It'll be a constant reminder handing on my white walls in my kitchen.

Oh my God I can't believe I did that! It's ever since you changed your avatar, I keep confusing you both. Sorry!

@ Adam: Yeah, Thanks.
Sadly, didn't get as much done. Sucks being handicapped on your main arm. But I am back for full RP now. I still have much to do but I'll do my best to keep active at the time being.
